901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Buying More Tickets To Increase Your chances on: January 03, 2024, 01:34:17 AM
This is for lotto bettors :

Lotto is so popular here in our country that there's a lotto outlet on just about every corner of cities and towns in our country just the other day there was a long line of bettors because the Lotto 6/55 jackpot skyrocketed to P571,554,916.40 or $10,206,337 after no winners for a long time.

I don't usually bet on 6/55 Lottery only 6/42 and 6/45 because the probability is just too high on 6/55 but I have to take chances because of the huge jackpot, every bettor's chances are equal so from not usually betting 6/55 I am betting now and will continue betting until the jackpot is hit,  and so from buying two tickets I'm buying 10 tickets now to increase my chances the ticket cost 20 pesos here or $0.36.

How about you as a Lotto bettor do you buy more tickets when the prize skyrocketed and how many more tickets are you adding

PCSO: No winner for P574-M Grand Lotto 6/55 jackpot

Sometimes I make two of my tickets when the prize is big before but nothing happens, so I did it now even though my prize stick is already big for one. Really just trust in God if you get lucky and give it to you. I realized that no matter how many tickets you buy, if it's not for you, it's not. Yes, you have a high chance of winning the jackpot if you have a lot of tickets, but it is still not guaranteed that you will get it, you just have to rely on luck.
True! Imagine a large number of lotto bettors; almost all the people in that country do lotto; the probability to win will be too small. Yes,  you have the probability to win, but buying more tickets or betting more combinations of numbers will not give you a higher chance of winning. It may seem helpful, but it is not, as the winning number is a random combination, so if you compute or calculate the probability, you will not even have a 1% chance to win.

But we can't stop other people who believe that the more tickets they buy will make them win someday. But if you think practical, you will see and notice that as you buy more tickets, you will eventually feel the burden of losing money, as you have a strong hope that you will win someday if you keep on betting. You are right, it depends on luck and destiny, and we never know if we are chosen to win such a huge amount or the jackpot.
902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 03, 2024, 12:54:54 AM
Greetings everyone and happy new year all!

Okay, today I was actually out for a little business and it happens that I almost spent all my time wasted without me even having a smooth deal, but along the line I have few games that I have placed a bet and was wanting to view my games from my phone since gambling is now mobile, what I meant by mobile is that you can access your account at any place provided that you have an internet connectivity you will login to monitor your matches.

So when I logged in, someone close to me easily peep from my left hand side and noticed that I just opened my account monitoring my games, at this point what he said is "ahh you don join dem"? Meaning you have also belong to the groups of people that gambles?

On a lighter note, I just smile and asked him if there is anything wrong while gambling or while monitoring my games and he said nothing but just that few people he knew that are gambling almost turned useless.

This now triggered me to come ask here whether you cares about what people says or sees you as when gambling, I know there are people who don't know you from time or who doesn't believe that you are a gambler and if it happens that you came across such people and their reaction towards you goes other way round would you care about it or you just totally ignore them?

Let's discuss amicably

I don't care, I don't care what others say because I'm not addicted to gambling. There are many people who judge others. People who judge others will never disappear from the world, they are scattered from side to side.

But if that person will help you or give you advice because he sees that you are struggling, why not. he's just being kind so you don't run out of money and you don't end up addicted to gambling. But if your gambling is okay and there's no problem with what you're doing, that's a different story.
True, we should not be ashamed of our gambling as long as we are not affecting other people around us. I personally am not ashamed if my friends or someone I know will find out that I do gambling, but as much as I can, I'm not flexing or flagging to anyone that I know that I do gambling.

But if someone knows that I do gambling and has a violent reaction to what I do, I will listen, of course, but I will not take it to heart because I don't want to offend someone who doesn't know what I'm doing, and as long as I don't involve other people, then I'm good. In short, I will ignore them. Maybe they will give advice, but it's up to me if I will take it because I know myself and I know my limit. Even if they think that I'm addicted to gambling, I don't care because I know more about myself.
903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many individual holders of Bitcoin are there? on: January 02, 2024, 11:07:49 PM
106 million the number a found on this website
https://buybitcoinworldwide.com/how-many-bitcoin-users/

This numbers or figures are definitely misleading because how can the site know the number of bitcoin owners when most bitcoiners are anonymous and have multiple addresses. There is the case of address reuse where one wallet can have multiple number of addresses and have bitcoin on them without actually linking them together, how does this site do it?. It is definitely wrong figures to me. All Bitcoin users can never be known due to the privacy that bitcoin provides.
Yes, mostly statistics or charts about how many users or bitcoin holders are all speculations or just an estimate of how many of them there are. The truth is that not all addresses or bitcoin wallets or addresses are owned by a different or unique individual or person, so there are no accurate numbers on how many people are being bitcoin holders. As we know, only we can identify someone in the bitcoin space by their bitcoin wallet or address, but we will never know who that person is specifically, so I don't think there are a right or accurate number of bitcoin holders. It's safe to say that there are a lot of bitcoin holders that we never know and we will never know who they are. And it's common sense; of course, there are a lot of bitcoin holders. It will be shown in the market that many transactions or trades are being made, so maybe millions, or we never know, just an estimate.
904  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you ready for crypto investing in 2024? on: January 02, 2024, 10:29:17 PM
This year I aim to earn more than last year or in 2023. I monitored and kept track of my tradings in different assets, including, of course, bitcoin, and based on my tracker or records, I quit earning some good amounts via trading, but this year I will invest more in trading. I just hope that I catch those opportunity trades and don't miss out on the big movements in the market.

It really helps a lot when you keep tracking every trade you do. Aside from the portfolio on the trading platform itself, I formulated and formatted my tracker into my desired output. So yeah, more on trader good trade, of course, and maybe I will expand on what assets or coins I will trade on. Altcoins may be risky, but I will try to find the altcoins that have the potential to give profit, and we hope bitcoin shows more incredible movements in the market.
905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rollercoaster of emotions. How to deal with? on: January 02, 2024, 10:02:03 PM
I don’t get it mate why you taking stress about Bitcoins. Bitcoins are for long term investment only. If you want to get noticeable profit, then invest in the coin for atleast 4 years and then think of cashing it out. If you are someone who wants quick profit then Bitcoins aren’t for you I must say. Moreover if Bitcoins price goes down, then instead of panicking think this as an opportunity and buy it. Show trust in Bitcoins, and in return you will definitely get more profits than expected.
Yes we fet your point bitcoin is for long term but still I think its exaggerated that the OP should wait for 4 years?! We know that not all of us has the luxury of waiting for too long in our investment as we all have our own needs that's why he is investing, I think the proper advise is that he should learn how to manage his investment in a sense that some of his asset should stay long term or holding for long term for more efficient and bigger profit but also he should allocate holdings that he can exit or convert as kong as he sees a profit, its depends on how will the OP will manage his investment, where he will place his trade or what price will he buy bitcoin, there's a lot to be considered in investing in bitcoin its not all about buying and selling assets. In short proper investment management, knowledge and analysis is need for bitcoin investment any kind holding, trading and etc
906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Know, But Can i Invest In Bitcoin? on: January 02, 2024, 03:02:15 PM
Hello everybody, how are you?

In this forum i am new and proud to be here as a member of this forum. Heard there is a lot of discussion about Bitcoin so I came to join here for my own needs. Hope you all will help me. I don't have a good idea about cryptocurrencies. I just know that investing in Bitcoin is extremely profitable. But I don't know how to do it. One of my acquaintance suggested me to invest some money in Bitcoin. I told him how many dollars to invest and he said as much as I am willing to invest. I made up my mind that I would invest $500 but i am confused. I don't know much about Bitcoin so the person gave me the link to this website and suggest me to know about the various opinions of users on various topics. Since I see that Bitcoin is always discussed , I want your suggestions about my Bitcoin investment.

Should I invest money with the suggestion of that guy? He told me that if I invest I will get good profit. He said, he will open my bitcoin wallet and help to buy bitcoins. Should I invest in bitcoin?

The person who gave you the information about Bitcoin is sure to give you the right information because if you invest in Bitcoin, you will profit from it. Since you don't have much idea about Bitcoin, you need to know a lot about Bitcoin as a newbie and have knowledge because if you don't know about Bitcoin, you won't be able to progress much. In Bitcoin, you are new to investing in Bitcoin by having a long term plan with patience and checking the market. Bitcoin Risk You have to invest in Bitcoin with that risk. If you invest patiently and check the market one day you will be successful with Bitcoin.
Yeah, it's a good thing that his friend or acquaintance suggested bitcoin to him or introduced bitcoin to him, but the thing is, what the guy did was give misleading information or knowledge. Yes, bitcoin can be profitable; I say can be profitable because you can't just invest and expect that you will earn from it; your friend didn't even mention what kind of investment you will make. There are a lot of ways to invest and earn in bitcoin, whether it be by holding assets, trading, crypto currency projects, bitcoin projects, or bitcoin projects, and many more.

There are a lot of ways to earn in bitcoin; what matters is, how will you invest in it? Of course, I know you know that you will need to invest time and effort, because it will take a while before you can fully grasp anything about bitcoin, and it will require your patience and effort. Of course, you will make an effort to study and gather knowledge that could help you in your bitcoin investment. Anyway, it's up to you on how you will earn in this field. That's why this forum exists: you can ask and gather all the necessary knowledge you need.
907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin have behaved like a fine wine 🍷 on: January 02, 2024, 10:22:15 AM
Bitcoin gave up a lot of opportunities for so many people that believe in it. Yes,  it started as a low-priced coin, but who knows that it will skyrocket and become more popular? As we know, its technology is unique and was created by Satoshi, which leaves a legacy for all of us. Over the years, bitcoin has kept on growing because it has a good road map and technology, and also because many people are believing it, which contributes to bitcoin's growth.

As long as bitcoin is being mined and many people are still investing in it, it will keep on growing and give more opportunities to a lot of people. Bitcoin is complex and hard to study, but with effort and time, you will be rewarded. You just have to have patience and keep on growing. It's still not too late to invest in bitcoin, so beginners and those who are wary of investing should take the risks.
908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and health concern on: January 02, 2024, 08:17:15 AM
It's New Year here in our country and I happened to bump into an old friend who narrated a story about how he almost suffered a heart attack after he won a big amount of money in a casino, this was several months ago, he's lucky that his son was around at that time so he got the right treatment at the right time.

He did not know that his hypertension had gotten worse since he can gamble even if he has this, he is taking medicines and doing relaxation but big winnings must have triggered this.

My question is :
Do you know the status of your health while gambling and what do you do if you happen to suffer a mild or hard stroke?

This is why I make it a point to open my messenger and have my loved one that I can contact in case, whenever I'm playing alone.

Well I think this is a common happenings to the gamblers I think even a gambler without a high blood pressure will have this situation or illness because of the money, let's face it gambling is not healthy for most of the gamblers the reason is because it involves money and people tend to be emotional or the emotion or health of a person can be affected by money so its a common reason why most of the gamblers develop and illness in relation to emotional and physical health, for example in emotional state, a gambler could develop an anger management issue or state where in he/she will be agitated and annoyed easily or when it comes to physical of course the common reason is hyper tension due to high blood pressure.

I personally know I developed anger management that I can't control sometimes due to gambling because who will be happy if they are losing money? no one, so you will feel frustrated and annoyed sometimes, which could lead to multiple circumstances like affecting the people around you or, at worst, pointing your emotions to other people, which is a bad indication that gambling is not healthy for you anymore.
909  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: January 02, 2024, 07:12:57 AM
I think that's what causes people to not like this KYC because it is too abrupt in asking users to complete KYC at the end of the game instead of at the beginning of the game, of course that is definitely not liked by many gamblers because maybe they don't want their identity to be known just because of a small bet.  Grin

But this is not the fault of the gambling platforms, they are being considerate first by not asking for KYC for a start which is their own way of attacking gamblers and requesting for KYC the moment they started and wanted to make some certain functions which is their own second way of retaining the gamblers to their platforms, now it's upto us to be able to present to them the evide of what they demanded or not.

No matter how we want to look at it, it's not right to say one thing in the beginning and do another thing at last; that's a shedy thing that most gamblers usually do. It's always right for you to update and tell the people that this is what they are going to face in the casino they want to start gambling with. Let me know and decide if they want it or not.

Telling someone there will be no KYC of any kind, and you having that in mind before you made your first deposit and you started gambling with them only for you to have a large winning, that's when they start asking for KYC documents. Such behaviour doesn't look okay to me; it's like forcing someone to do what they planned on doing in the first place.

You're right, i will also like to add this as a piece of an advise to gamblers to make sure that they have every possible required information needed for KYC before they started with them because when the time comes for the verification of KYC, some don't even have the proof of every informations required from them, not even access to the contact number or email address used can they be able to provide, which is not right enough from our own side.
True! Most of the mistakes of the gamblers are that they deposit money and start playing on a specific website without knowing about the KYC. That's why some gamblers may have stock funds on a website because they will pay attention to the KYC if they want to withdraw or if they decide to withdraw their funds, and from that they will know how hard it is to pass the KYC, or worse, they can't pass the KYC because of the information they have or information that they lack and can't provide.

That's why it is important for a gambler to know first the rules and regulations of a gambling site and also the KYC policy of the website to avoid inconvenience and lockdown of funds. I don't know why many gamblers are hesitant to comply with KYC, but they know it serves as compliance for the website so they can operate legally and also to avoid illicit and anomalous activities using gambling sites.
910  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: January 02, 2024, 01:37:39 AM
Why would I believe in a prediction that relates to sports betting?! It's common sense that if the game you and your friends used to bet on is a sports game like basketball or anything related to sports with physical activity, then how would you believe in someone's prediction? Of course, it's a sports game, and there are no guaranteed predictions until the game ends. How could someone predict who will win a sports game? Unless the game or match is rigged or scripted, even if the game is like chess, billiards, or anything about sports, there will be no 100% prediction on who will win or what will be the winning bet.

What you and your friends did shows that you are desperate to win and believe in someone's prediction. Well,  it can't be helped; maybe the one who gave you the prediction is convincing, but next time, never ever believe in a prediction, especially when it comes to sports betting. Yes,  there are predictions scattered around, but a 100% prediction is not such a thing.
911  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Unknown fact our profitable colleagues won't tell us on: January 01, 2024, 11:23:29 PM
it's not by taking multiple trades, it's about the quality of the trades that makes the difference.
This, people out there seem to think that to become traders the only thing they need to do is to open an account at an exchange, make some trades and money will follow, but trading is way more complicated than that, you need to select your trades very carefully and let the market come to you, and if a trader cannot do this then they have almost no chance to succeed as they will take any trade that may come their way, not understanding they need to be way more selective than that.

Such traders will only regret it. they may see a colleague who is successful with trading. and those who saw it wanted to start and follow his successful path. they thought it would be as easy as making a profit. but without knowledge and experience, trading will only give you losses.
Beginners and experienced traders alike must take lessons from every trade they make. it can provide advantages or disadvantages. everything is developing and if we can't adapt to the market, then we will be left behind.
True events, you should also add that many beginners in trading are only doing trading because they saw an advertisements about trading or influencers that flexing their luxurious life because of trading, this kind of advertising will attract beginners in trading they will take advantage of the mind of the people that wants to earn and being shined by the beautiful words or advertising about trading being a good source of income, but in reality it is not, influencers only do this to attract potential investors to avail their services, in short its for their own good and from that many beginners tend to go to a wrong path of trading and end up losing a lot which will make them stop and blame trading.

Trading will never be easy; it will never ever be. That's why you shouldn't believe everything you see on social media or the internet that may look at trading as easy money. Trading is a very risky and dangerous thing that should require a lot of knowledge, skill, experience, and patience.
912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What course can one study in university that can build potential in bitcoin? on: January 01, 2024, 10:18:16 PM
It doesn't need to be too complicated to include Bitcoin and Blockchain courses in universities.
Blockchain technology will automatically enter the field of modern technology, without us needing to learn from school or university.
Spending a lot of time on this forum has also increased our knowledge because there are many topics and sub-topics that we can read about.
The potential for bitcoin will grow rapidly when people view bitcoin as easy, everyone can have access to find bitcoin information for free on social media.
Yes, including bitcoin-related courses or blockchain technology in a course is easy, and in fact, it will be a great addition to the curriculum of the students, especially in a course on IT or information technology, but the thing is, there is a process for everything, and even though blockchain is a form of technology, the government still can't add it to a curriculum. As we know, this technology is still not known to everyone or anyone, especially in government.

But if I were them, I would add this technology, as it is advanced and will be used in the future, and teaching this technology or bitcoin will be a big help to the students so that they are going to be exposed early in this field so they can have an option to be innovative and ear as they want. But even without the course or curriculum, we have this forum that has information based on the opinions of other users.
913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Connecting to Public Wifi on: January 01, 2024, 09:31:23 AM
I visit the city here few weeks ago due to my personal medical appointment. I notice that they have public wifi because I’m only allowed to use my Tab as mobile device due to my eye condition.

I just thought playing a little bit gambling while waiting for my appointment but then I realized that online casino has a strict rules about IP sharing. I'm really skeptical to connect because I’m not sure whether someone connected on it that play on same online casino that I’m playing. I don’t want to risk being connected to someone randomly.

I want to get the opinion how casino deal with this kind of situation. If you caught up on this messed up situation, how can you possibly defend yourself to online casino operators?

I don't know the rules but maybe it depends to a casino how to handle that kind of situation, but for me, I don't usually use public wifi if ever I have a plan on doing gambling, I prefer to use mobile data instead of using public wifi for the sake of my privacy. This type of incident usually stated in the terms and conditions or rules of a gambling site.
That's a good choice, also using public WiFi is risky in a sense that some hackers or with malicious intent tend to target those devices that is connected in public wifi, note that everyone could connect in a public wifi so anyone could also do wrong doings and also it will raise the risk of having viruses in your devices that's why some casino has policy of blocking public wifi so their website will be safe from vulnerability or risk also of being compromised by the malicious intent by other people, its better to not access any online casino it will aldo protect your login credentials and your funds, better bring your own pocket wifi so you will be sure that your devices or accounts are safe from malwares or malicious virus.

I personally don't trust any public wifi, even I have to access something I will make sure that I have mobile date so I can keep sakr my device and accounts.
914  Economy / Gambling / Re: Finding a Bug on: January 01, 2024, 06:34:52 AM
Well it depends on the casini itself, some casini already hired someone with expertise in the field of information technology (IT) that will exploit the things that are vulnerable in the specific website, this persons or IT persons are classified as hackers but in a good side where in they will find the vulnerabilities of a website and will report to the owner to fix this issue, sometimes even the hired hackers are the one that will fix thr issue. But if a casino website is generous then if an a regular customer reports a bug or vulnerability in a website then they can give a reward to that customer either funds to the casino or money itself.

If you are aiming to be hired as a bug hunter or vulnerability tester, or tester itself then it will take some degree to do so because why would a website will hire someone that has no degree or proof of expertise in the said field.
915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the perception of people about gamblers in your neighborhood? on: January 01, 2024, 05:26:05 AM
Well, it's a very common thing that gambling or gamblers are bad to the eye of other people or bad influence. We can't please other people or the crowd about our hobby, so we cannot control what they will think about us gamblers. Well, in my country, there is a process where gambling is legal, for example, in a casino establishment or online casino, and those establishments comply with the rules and regulations of the government. That's why gambling is legal. So many gamblers can say that they play legally, but of course there are illegal gambling or gambling games that are being played in a household. In short, gambling is happening all around the world. It's up to us gamblers if we will be affected by the words of other people. As long as we are not involving other people around us or affecting people around us negatively, then we are clean; we are just doing what we want.
916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin stability important? on: December 31, 2023, 11:23:39 PM
That is what is unique about bitcoin: its volatility. Yeah, it may sound like a disadvantage, but over the years, many traders or holders have taken advantage of these characteristics of bitcoin, as it will create many different opportunities, and it's up to the people on board to utilise their earnings through bitcoin. I don't think that bitcoin being stable in a specific price range would be good because it only means that bitcoin movements are not happening or that the circulation of bitcoin is getting low, and not many people are transacting bitcoin. So I would prefer that bitcoin is not stable; I mean, I prefer it to be volatile; more market movement means no opportunity to earn; it's up to us how we will grab that opportunity. Altcoins may be a good alternative to bitcoin, but still, nothing beats the mother coin, as we know some altcoins are dangerous to use or invest in.
917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your New Year's resolution? on: December 31, 2023, 03:49:28 PM
Maybe if I had a new year's resolution related to gambling, maybe it would be about spending less if I don't feel that I'm lucky, or if from the beginning of the session I notice that I'm not in luck, then I would stop playing. Maybe more restriction and control on my gambling habit because even though I have certain boundaries, I notice that I sometimes can't control myself and end up going overboard on my budget, so next year I would focus more on self-discipline and control on my gambling expenses. I know this is a difficult result, but it's worth trying and doing anyway, right? I guess this is most likely the resolution of most gamblers, as they also notice that they can go overboard with their budget. And also, many become addicted to gambling, which should be changed or limited in the new year. Anyway,  happy new year to everyone.
918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto and the Masses on: December 31, 2023, 01:21:25 PM
It is true that the entire mass hasn’t adopted the blockchain technology. However, if you look through each and every year, you’ll see that bitcoin and cryptocurrencies at large has been growing and reaching more people. All these trends around cryptocurrency still boils down to even more adoption. So I really think that we’ve been doing great. You also have to consider that It’s the adoption that has given it its current value. Little by little, we will keep growing.
But It will take a long time. Current pace is not enough for the current generation. may be next generation will get the full benefits of them.
Well, we can't push the adoption of bitcoin. Yes, we can spread things or ideas about bitcoin, but we can't guarantee that everyone who listens to or reads about it will be interested in it and will spend time and effort to know about it. This is a common problem with other people. When they have an idea or knowledge about bitcoin or crypto currency, they will be held back because they heard about the complexity of this field, and the investment is long-term, so they will be wary about what will happen to their investments or if their investments will have a profit or not. But we can still do our part as spreaders of this wonderful technology, but we can't ever hope that all the listeners or readers will have the interest to adopt or learn about this bitcoin or crypto currency stuff. Anyway,  in fact, there are more establishments or businesses that are slowly adopting bitcoin or the payment mode through crypto currency.
919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying and Losing My First Bitcoin on: December 31, 2023, 08:58:59 AM
Well, it's unfortunate to hear that bitcoin in your country is still illegal, but I think most of the country's bitcoin is illegal, but still, we can own them and access them. What's illegal about bitcoin is that you can't use it like a regular currency when buying something; hence, some establishments and businesses are starting to adopt it and accept crypto currency payments, mainly bitcoin. Well, it can't be helped that in your first investment in bitcoin you will sell it or, like you said, you will use it with a third party, which is not a good idea. But I think you've learned your lesson from those happenings. It's not too late. You can still invest in bitcoin now. It's up to you how much you will invest because any amount is acceptable. It's up to you how you will grow that small investment. Do DCA so you can accumulate a lot of bitcoin in no time.
920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Questionable features of Bitcoin on: December 31, 2023, 07:54:48 AM
Well, that's not a problem if you see BTC as an asset, you don't need it to move too often. If you need it for transactions - you can use lightning, but I prefer simply using altcoins for stuff like this.
Well, it can't be helped as we do transactions based on bitcoin, or some are earning through bitcoin or making payments through bitcoin, so there are many transactions happening in a day, so even if they treat bitcoin as an asset, it still can't be helped to make a transfer in a day because that's what we do. But the thing is, in these days, the transaction fee is too expensive and the waiting time is getting longer, so what we can only do is wait until the fees are lowered and the transaction will be faster. That's how bitcoin works; it indicates that many people are using bitcoin, and that's why the transactions are being congested. Using altcoins for transactions is also not bad; it is in fact an alternative, but instead of altcoins, why not try using stable fiat currencies like USDT if there is a transaction needed to be done? Bitcoin should not be touched in these days because the fees are too expensive.
