901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reports of bitcoin environmental damage are garbage on: January 31, 2019, 04:08:30 PM
Here are a few simple facts.

1. Approx 90% of bitcoins mined are sold to pay for the electric.
2. That equates to $5 million a day on electric costs, sure some might be green, but some of that that electricity could be used by someone else that subsequently didn't have the green electric.

So basically bitcoin must be wasting $2 Billion a year that is in effect environmental damage.

If bitcoin increases, more people mine and so the environmental impact is linked very closely to the price of btc.

I hope bitcoin becomes worthless asap.

So you think, VISA and MasterCard run without power? Amazon got insight from massive data without any use of power? What do you think about the process of making paper that waste so much water? Every luxury that we use is putting pressure on nature, but they never told you that you should live in Forest/ or nomadic type of life. But they told you do not use BTC because BTC is causing environmental issues.
902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why not crowd fund a reward for the Killer Bitcoin App of the year? on: January 31, 2019, 03:46:01 PM
A killer idea, A trusted developer , fund will automatically follow. But idea should be something that should bridge the gap between non-crypto user and crypto users not something that will provide added functionality to the crypto users only.
903  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Need a good shopping website to buy with bitcoins on: January 30, 2019, 04:21:16 PM
Recently overstock.com was in news though I never used them/checked them.
904  Other / Meta / Re: Unban Account. Appeal on: January 30, 2019, 08:37:06 AM
Off course thought can be similar, but words cannot match like that. Probablity of two user having same private key is much better as compared to your word by word copied text.
905  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful of not getting red-tags by advertising a known scam in your signature on: January 30, 2019, 07:50:11 AM
I think you need to incorporate few more ideas in your thoughts, it is not about red tag only. Have you ever guessed your signature can cause permanent ban if it has phising link?

Anyway quoting my one of old post here for adding more points that are not discussed here.

Altough we already have a existing topic that explain the Signature Campaign Guidelines but I think it is time for us to add some more guidelines/suggestion  in it.

The earlier guidelines were more concerned about the spamming in this forum but I think we are now facing one more problem on top of spam , i.e is adverisement of scams or (Scam ICOs)

Actually, I got this idea for creating the topic while reading the post of the Theymos in this topic .

Phishing is bannable. Probably everyone who wore it would be banned.

A simple extension may extend to promoting scam can cause -ve trust, even it is included in your signature only and you are not directly promoting it.

Let me put some suggestion for user advertising  in their signature space.

1. Check the links in your signature that you are advertising, make sure it is not some kind of phising link.
2. Do your own research before joining the signature campaign and do not join the project if it look shady.
3. Do not trust the bounty manager blindly even bounty manager can be greedy and promoting the project for its own gain.
4. Do not join the signature campaign that do not meet your posting habits. If your posting habit is of around 10 post per week than do not enroll in
signature campaign that ask for  25 post in a week.
5. If you already got some hint that the project is scam then do not keep mum , even you enrolled in its signature or not. You can create a topic in
   Scam Accusation board
6. Incorporated  Joel_Jantsen  post
Don't participate in the campaigns which are not started by
 - A reputed campaign manager
 - Avoids escrow
 - Hires shit-posters

It is our responsibility that we should not promote scam and help in preventing it.

PS: If you have some more suggestion that are not covered till now, Then feel free to suggest in this thread. I will in corporate them in this post.
Edit: Signature is paid or not paid ,should comply the forum rules.

906  Other / Meta / Re: Unban Account. Appeal on: January 30, 2019, 07:05:51 AM
I know this man personally. Never been seen behind any negative cases. He wrote only on the merits, spam was not.
he needs this account to edit and maintain the theme with the table for the bounty.
Am asking reconsider its decision and unlock his account.
Please consider the appeal.

With respect, Katrin.

Very weighted vouch for OP here Smiley
If OP is doing so important work for you guys then you all should pay the OP for it Smiley Smiley
Good news is that OP can still access the forum in read mode and create the table of bounties for you in guys another forum.  I see so many happy people in this solution.
1. OP get paid for work.
2.You all will get information.
3. That forum will be happy to welcome all of you.
907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investors now moving to gold on: January 30, 2019, 05:23:03 AM
How do you know that people moved from bitcoin to gold.Did they signed a disclaimer that they are migrating from BTC to gold due to liquidity issue. Anyway I am not against for investing in gold but I do not think people are migrating from bitcoin to gold and if someone do not want to invest in BTC then there are still multiple opportunities better performing than gold.
908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $1.7 in Bitcoin lost on: January 30, 2019, 05:17:12 AM
There are so many unreported thefts , and many personal thefts that are discussed in various forum but never accounted in any official report. The number can go much higher. As already pooya pointed, there is difference between the lost vs stolen. these all are stolen coins.
909  Other / Meta / Re: Why my thread has been moved to Off-Topic ?? on: January 30, 2019, 03:56:39 AM
B and H board do not have any active moderator. I guess somebody used "Report to Moderator" button on your thread that cause Mod to move it. For rest of the topic might be nobody reported them. But surprisingly there are 3 more topics I know ,existing there created before your topic creation.
910  Other / Meta / Re: Contradictory rules, account sell VS merit sell. On addition trust view to guest on: January 30, 2019, 03:47:21 AM
There are so many forums where there is no setting to show account trust, so how the people dealing there?
Expecting people to remain dumb and adding more type of scores does not mean anything. They will ignore the scores saying "I am new, I do not know what that score means at that time"?
You don't need rules for everything to understand what is wrong or right, your moral judgement also suffice.
911  Other / Meta / Re: TrustTalk: Show untrusted feedback by default? on: January 30, 2019, 03:28:22 AM
Though I believe in DT feedback but I read the untrusted feedback also.
Somebody having neutral trust but having 1-2 untrusted feedback from general users of this forum (user are not posting shit, not in any kind of shady activities, or account not created to just to distribute random feedback), I will consider that user untrusted.
912  Other / Meta / Re: Why I think Copper Membership is a must buy on: January 30, 2019, 02:32:00 AM
Ya I'm from the United States, the signature campaign was cancelled by the way, wasn't fake. Again I don't give a fuck about that.
If it is cancelled, then you decided not to inform the community. You do not need to proud that you come from USA, because whatever shady stuff exist it is already happening there. (from begging, theft, abuse list will go on).

The majority of internet scammers come from 3rd world countries like Nigeria, this is a FACT.
Person who is writing "King of Nigeria" does not mean person belong to Nigeria. They are just like you who "don't give a fuck about that".
913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I noticed Craigslist is accepting cryptocurrency for ad payments on: January 29, 2019, 06:57:20 PM
Anybody notice this?  Do you they only accept bitcoin or do they accept Ether too?

Craigslist Sellers Can Now Request Cryptocurrency Payments

Craigslist Enable Sellers to Accept Bitcoin, More Merchants Adopt Cryptocurrencies

I have also notice PayPal sent an email saying that they are integrating crypto payments.

This is not be true. I did not receive any email and I very much doubt that paypal would do such a thing because of the laws of each country in relation to cryptos

First , I thought craiglist is having some kind of ad slots started and they are charging for it. Anyways what ever OP tells is a very old news.
just reminded me one of my own old post.
5. Try to sell your stuff for crypto currency.
You can sell your stuff in Goods board for crypto currency in this forum. Now Craiglist also give option to sell your stuff in crypto currency.

914  Other / Meta / Re: Daily quiz on: January 29, 2019, 08:20:56 AM
I will be very frank on this

Personally, I do not feel this challenge will serve the intended purpose, whether it is started with Merit or without Merit. Those want to learn , they find their way (sometimes it took time to find the right board/knowledge source) but they eventually find it. They are not waiting for any Merit challenges to start their learning.
Those who do not want to learn, will still give substandard /directly copy pasted answer.
As far the, multiple options Q/A concerned , they look to easy to find answer without provoking any thoughts.
915  Economy / Services / Re: ★★★ [OPEN] DD Signature Campaign ★★★ on: January 29, 2019, 06:56:37 AM
No scam on that site, only some user who didn't read well in the past.

And those DT users is one big farce

Business is tagged by multiple DT users of this community . It simply means your promotion/ advertisement/way of conducting business is not welcome in this community.
916  Other / Off-topic / Re: Miss International 2019 - Miss Philippines won on: January 29, 2019, 03:31:36 AM
Any country for that matter will be proud of their winning candidates, so Philippines is no different. I remember India winning titles in succession also in the 90's. And that time I have some Indian office mates, and indeed they are so happy and at the same time very proud eventhough women are treated differently in their country.

That I am suspecting, few decade back they targeted Indian economy, that targeting is now complete.
Answer lies some where in Philippines economy or some future prospect in it.

This is not disregard to the contest winner beauty/brains but I am saying these decisions are influenced
917  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am new here, how to know good project to invest? on: January 28, 2019, 06:01:27 PM
hello
you should research for investing.
if you want to make a profit and be successful in investing, you must read about crypto and it's market. many of projects are a scam.
so, I know a trust project to invest.its a real cloud mining and is developing every day.
this project is using a new method that is made by themselves and is exclusive.you can make a solid investment and make the profit

https://mastercloudminer.com

Do not listen to this guy above.
I guess, you need to read this topic first.before you start investing in crypto.
918  Other / Meta / Re: Signature advertisers: suggestions? on: January 28, 2019, 05:09:52 PM
Years ago, I participated on a forum where spam posting due to signature rewards was an issue, too.  Actually it was a pretty similar situation as it is on bitcointalk today.

After the introduction of a signature views measurement service, the campaign owners started to accept only members which had a high rate of views, mostly thread creators and creators of posts on popular and useful discussions with an interesting history. Or they paid rewards per view. Creating post number 1849 on page 190 on a pointless discussion thread, brought only a couple of views which finally became unattractive what caused an significant decrease of needless posts.

As far as I remember, it was not a native forum solution, rather a external service where a 1px image was added to the sig besides the text. Each time the pixel was loaded it counted the view. To prevent using visitor exchanges or other viewing tools, it locked the IP for a couple of hours to be counted for the same user.

I do not understand how this will help in the case where users have created "Offices" for abusing bounties. They will do work from their home, clicking each other link ,skewing the whole metrics.

Secondly, theymos is not concerned about how much view a signature created, he is concerned about the shit posting happening due to signatures.
919  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Will you pay for hiding your Home/house address from the merchant on: January 28, 2019, 02:10:52 PM
It's a good idea, however there are actually many services which already do that and deliver to your home as well like these for example:

http://www.borderlinx.com/
https://www.shipito.com/
https://www.viabox.com/

They are mainly used to bypass restrictions on certain products just sold in a particular country rather than for pricacy, as far as i know.

Look like we have already  some business in this field, This is what I am exactly thinking of.
PO boxes will not solve the purpose.
locking it now.

Theymos, can you solve the mystery? newbie with 2 merit watering  wearing avatar?

Title need little correction.
I guess this is not the first time that we  saw some thing unexplained for user alanst.

We have one more open question about that user.

Who can move and lock topics? Patrollers?
