901  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lamborghini Member hilariousandco has lost his FUCKIN mind !!! on: June 28, 2018, 02:12:59 PM

Actually you don't get to invest in anything with your staff account, why don't you use an alt account and invest your whole life and see if I give a fuck.

ACTUALLY I do get to invest in anything I want as I already have invested in it so it seems reality and you are at odds with each other as usual.

Now that being said I will continue to post and interact as I want to.  When theymos decides I am acting inappropriately I assume he will remove me as P&S mod or talk to me about it.  When DT members have a problem with what I am doing I assume they will tag me as they see fit.

If someone is stupid enough to not do any research about the person offering the investment and the person talking about their investment and invests solely on the basis of seeing 5 letters under my user profile than that person is retarded and I am certainly not responsible for what ANYONE does with their own money just like no one is responsible for what I do with MY money.

Frankly speaking anyone reading my posts would know

1)  I have enjoyed a lot of Bruno's posts over the years
2)  I invested an irrelevant amount of money (although not actually any of your business)
3)  I have publicly called my "investment" a gamble
4)  I though Bruno had a novel idea but questioned if he was the right guy to make it work
5)  I have absolutely not personally endorsed any investment, ever period
6)  I don't speak for the forum and have never claimed too
7)  I'm an atheist preferring logical thought to hardcore dogmatic religious indoctrination (and that
     drives you batshit crazy LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL)
902  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lamborghini Member hilariousandco has lost his FUCKIN mind !!! on: June 28, 2018, 12:24:25 PM

The thing is that I don't trust you not even a bit, you are a hypocrite and you don't fear any God, so everything is possible and expected from such a person.

And here we have the crux of the problem.  You're a lying, jealous little simpleton with a bias as big as the fucking planet...

Pleas provide examples of my hypocracy?  Or is this another blanket made up statement of yours?

Incidentally, why haven't you tagged me if I am a hypocrite and untrustworthy and in bed with a scammy ICO.  More importantly why hasn't any of the DT's tagged me?

Now kindly PM theymos to have me removed as a Mod.
903  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lamborghini Member hilariousandco has lost his FUCKIN mind !!! on: June 28, 2018, 11:59:08 AM

I also don't think that a staff should get involved in questionable, ICO activities, refer to FHF the newest moderator who has been in a warm bed with Bruno and his ICO. theymos really should take care of that because we don't want to tie this forum to some very shady ICOs especially when the *dev is a known lair and account seller plus he is in cahoots with DT2 members who'd blatantly counter legit negative feedbacks.

I don't think you have any fucking right whatsoever to tell me where to invest my motherfucking money.

If it turns out Bruno scammed me (I have already OPENLY admitted this is a possibility) you can rest safely knowing I can afford it (since you seem preoccupied with other people's money).  I have not told ANYONE to invest in ANYFUCKINGTHING on this forum EVER.  I have not asked for nor argued for any trust to be added or removed.

Just because you're to stupid to understand the difference between "investing" in something and "endorsing" something doesn't change reality.

You can always cite your source?  Why re-write something that is explained and common knowledge...  I don't see why you can't cite Satoshi's white paper as the source for an explanation on POW mining.

Plagiarism is taking someone else's work and passing it off as your own.

Just give credit to the original author and highlight what you're changing IMO.

That's a nice idea. I just have to mention the sources I used right ? Complete reference should appear in the reference list at the end of the paper ? Because I was offered some rewriting services here on the forum and all of them are using paraphrasing tools..  Grin So most likely I will follow your suggestion. Thanks.

You should probably do a bit of research about properly citing reference sources. If all your doing is explaining POW mining give the man that created it the credit with a source and move on.

bitcoin has now reached another low at 5800 and many of those that are more educated, have a broader economic understanding beyond IT tech,

know that this kind of speculative cryptocurrency cant be the future.

Bitcoin has "died" a million times already, yet here we all are about 6 months away from the 10th bday of BTC!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just another chance to get more yummy cheap coins!!!
908  Other / Meta / Re: The Reality of this forum on: June 25, 2018, 02:12:36 AM
There has been a lot of controversy these past few months regarding the spammers that flock to this forum in order to obtain money.   The merit system helps but most of these "legendary" and "hero" spammers got there by shitting out one liners the past few years.

Perhaps there is a little truth to that but it is dwarfed by comparison to the mountain of shit by jr and lower accounts.

The obvious solution is to remove signature campaigns all together.   This will undoubtedly get rid of the people who are here for the wrong reasons.  But Theymos and mods know this will absolutely kill the traffic to this website and ad revenue would absolutely plummet.

I used to think this as well.  I even made a post with that sentiment a few months ago

I've done a bunch of thinking on this issue and have made a few conclusions that I have yet to see addressed, so here they are!

1)  After considering it a lot I realized that theymos has done almost nothing to increase the revenue streams of the forum as it's gained popularity and climbed Alexa!  We have the same 9 slots available to advertise that we have had for as long as I can remember.  He has not added any other banner ads or referral ads/links in fact he appears to have done none of the traditional things a "for profit" business running the site would do with the increasing popularity of the site to grow the revenue stream.

This site could be an absolute cash cow for theymos, yet he has not done a single thing to indicate that is his primary motive.  So to me either he is the worst business man on the planet because even a 12 year old could take a site ranked this high and make hundreds of thousands a month OR he has another reason or values the traffic differently.

Consider also that the financials of the forum are available for anyone that can search.  When I found the financials it isn't hard to see that the forum is a very early adopter of BTC and as such has been tremendously fortunate if one views it in terms of fiat...

Based on the fact that I now felt that the driving force behind theymos' decisions was not $ I began to wonder what value the traffic could have to him.

I wondered why not just get rid of the sigs and go back to a better ratio of signal to noise, what value does the traffic have??

I think the value is that new people are finding there way here, Bitcoin is growing.  Bitcoin is affecting and changing peoples lives for the better, especially people who weren't lucky enough to be born in the first world...  The more people know about it the better chance it has of changing the future.  Honestly isn't it great that someone can make as much money (without abusing alts) posting here learning about BTC than a week in manual labour??

I honestly believe he is making every effort to encourage as many new people to the forum and bitcoin as possible while doing his best to keep out the straight up whores.  What a difficult balancing act because one of the worst things would be to stagnate new users.  If a user comes here for the wrong reason but learns about BTC and becomes a decent user, that's good IMO.  If spam is the consequence of growing bitcoin can we deal with it??

I'm not suggesting to not work on the spam problem at all.  I think the merit system shows that he is hearing us about the spam but it is clearly not an easy fix if you don't want to stagnate growth.

I am not trying to speak for theymos and I have never spoken to him about this.  I came up with these (for good or bad myself and are my personal opinions).

To be honest I think is shows that it was a good decision to give BTCT to theymos as I'm sure that many people wouldn't have been able to resist the temptation to turn this site into a full on for profit business and make fucking bank!

With that being said perhaps this will help when people are trying to think of ways to fight the spam.  I honestly think if you could present a workable solution to theymos that WON'T stagnate new growth or affect normal users you would probably get a lot of support from him (IMHO).

I do think there is an actual human sitting behind a keyboard and not an AI.
This is exactly what I think to. This must be a human not an AI.

I've read more of his posts than anyone should have too in the last few months LOL.  If it's an AI learning it is doing a shitty job of learning...!   He just seems like another butthurt conspiracy nut with a screw or six lose!
Did you mean what you wrote or "i" replace with "e"?  Grin

lol I actually meant six loose!!!!!!

Serious question.

I keep seeing this guy https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=513984 posting a lot, and honestly, I don't understand the meaning of any of his posts. And got a silly idea maybe somebody running some kind of Deep Learning AI bot which is now in learning phase? Cheesy

Here is his posting history: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=513984;sa=showPosts

No offense if it's a real guy.

LMFAO Old Popcorn, what an interesting hypothesis, I highly doubt that is the case but can't say for sure.

I've read a lot of his posts (unfortunately).  He just seems like a fucking nut job to me.  Seems relatively harmless in terms of the forum.  Yes I've seen some redundant topics posted by him back to back and he has a lot of threads that make little to no sense.  The vast majority of his threads there isn't anyone talking but him (even the shitposters avoid his threads LOL).  His views tend to be quite extreme but I do think there is an actual human sitting behind a keyboard and not an AI.

I've left him to talk to himself for the most part in his threads, I dump the really blatant shit but who knows maybe he's saying something someone somewhere in the world might care about so as long as it looks like HE is at least thinking about it I tend to let him be and to let him have his say.

In the grand scheme of things this nutter isn't much of a forum issue IMO!
912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥 [ANN] YuTü.Co.in Pre-ICO - Destined to be one of the top ICOs during 2018 🔥 on: June 23, 2018, 08:41:46 PM
Bruno. dude.

I was one of the very early believers and investors in this in January. I've watched this whole process with hope and patience and I have to say at this point it's incredibly frustrating. You seem to spend 99.9% of your time "scam busting"  as you LOVE to continually harp on and chasing after the glorious, life-affirming acceptance of the bitcointalk community, debating the respect you feel you are owed with a million people. BUT, according to you, you got scammed ON YOUR OWN ICO! We stood by you and the project as you rattled on about how surprised you were a lead developer and their girlfriend you met that one time and gave control of your whole project just disappeared with everything and how don't worry you had other investors lining up, complete with a preposterous play by play that if you had a legit investor who saw your posts about them, jesus.  Nobody called you out, nobody gave you shit, nobody called you a scam even though at best you misrepresented the "team" you had.

Was actually quite happy to see you were back with a "plan" but it sure looks like the same plan as before --which, after it all went down turned out be more of a hail mary and a prayer.  I've seen you needlessly point out your unending and irrefutable transparency 50 times in the short time i've been on here, but you can't answer clear and simple questions about what the ACTUAL, CURRENT agreement with Bacancy is or how much money you need to secure that service. BUT, you're presenting that as a way to legitimize this pre-ICO. But hey, you're gonna just crowdsource your whole team real quick and oh everybody gets a free computer!!  Was this the whole plan?  And how has it not occurred to anyone "consulting" you that if nearly every single person who comes across this has to ask a million questions about your super clever wordsmith-ing and glossary you've coined then that's maybe not the best approach to reach the masses?  Bacancy is cool with all that? And you're using the same website? aka one of the 10 least professional looking website on the web? You could literally put up one clean looking page with a summary people who at least speak english can grasp the concept without 10 rounds of explanations and an email address and it would seem more legit.

As someone who still believes you are onto a terrific idea and has to be one of the highest dollar investors in this so far I WANT you to succeed, but I think it's time to show us all a lot more, and stop with the pseudo transparency and tell everyone the actual truth, actual plan and actual details. If it's any good it will help this effort -- which by looking at the addresses in the OP, is not going great. And I WANT it to go great. You really do seem like a decent guy who wants to do the right thing, but this whole reboot sure seems like it's riddled with stubborn or lazy thinking and preparation. I think in particular with what's happening in other threads, we who have been and are on board deserve a lot more from you than the current patterns of communication.  Thank you

Some, if not most of your post has merit, addressing one aspect that doesn't. I'm spending very little time scam busting, dedicating most my waking hours to this project, taking quick breaks to comment in select threads with Arbitao being the only scam entity on my radar/plate in digging them a new asshole, of which that episode has most likely come to a close.

Yes, the site relatively sucks in its current iteration as I've formally addressed and alluded to on its home page from the get-go. Thanks to onboarding Team Member Cyrus McNally and speaking in length with him on the phone, that will soon change.

jhart411, I truly thank you and others for their support to date, and I promise that none of yous will be disappointed.

Ironically, I came to this thread within seconds of you posting the quoted reply above so to link to my latest money grab (seriously, humor) --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4514203.0.

Another former early supporter has opted to take advantage of our Super Bonus because of his faith in the project, thus leaving only three available.

Time for bed.

Bruno

Quote
The Raffle idea was presented to me by another supporter via PM who I'm opting to not declare who the forum member is but hope he publicly verifies the truism.
That was me, I suggested the raffle (as I have seen a lot of them in the collectibles section I thought it might help raise awareness for the project).

I won't highlight each point from the investors post but I do agree with a lot of it.

I asked about pre-ICO funding information and was a little disappointed when it was ignored.  Although it's not required, I thought it might help if folks knew what the funding goal was, what the funds were being used for and how close funding goal was.  These are absolute basic pieces of information required on the big CF sites, because it helps greatly knowing this information when deciding to support.  If I know the funding goal is 6 million dollars and only $200 is pledged, well I am probably not going to support it no matter how good the project is.  If the funding goal is $10,000 and $7500 has been pledged I am MORE likely to support it if I like it.  I can see the funding goal is reasonable and others agree so fuck it I'm in for a couple hundo.

I wish there was a little more transparency (the irony isn't lost on me LOL), even if it was in private for ONLY those who have verified investments.  I'd love to see a road map of sorts, even a short term one.  What are you working on Bruno, what are the timelines you wish to hit.  Where is the project in terms of development?

Is there any way for a mod to remove the bad trust? It looks bad that the only trust I have is bad lol

Apologies for going OT but I thought you deserved an answer.  Unfortunately no, trust is not moderated and AFAIK only the Admins are able too.

The best one can say is fortunately the scammers feedback on you is untrusted so for the most part no one will ever see it.
The scammers account however is now useless with all the red paint splashed on it.

I have neg trust from a troll that believes the earth is flat and covered with a dome.  I never even left him any feedback ever yet he thinks I abuse the trust system, huh go fucking figure eh!

I'm actually very interested, with the currently low price of coins (my stash is growing!!!) I would like to add some more security to a couple of wallets.  I've been looking at a ledger or trezor the last few days.

Shame its USA only  Cry

I mean Canada is almost American state!!??  Wink

I don't want to derail the thread are these Keep Keys as good as the ledgers or trezor's?  I can see them on Amazon.ca Prime for about $105US so I might end up just going that route.

918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Power Strip / Surge Protector Tripping issues on: June 21, 2018, 08:56:50 PM
I'm not 100% sure if the problem gets worse when the ambient temp goes up but I been having a lot of issues this week with one of my rigs going down because it's power strip keeps on tripping.  So keen to hear advice from people that have gone through this as well as recommendations for power strips that can handle warmer environments a little better.  Currently I am using these guys: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B075RZ89XC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which I bought because it specifically says that it can handle 1875 watts of continuously load.  We are running 1 EVGA 850 watt ATX PSU and 1 750 Watt HP server PSU off this, both PSU's are running at around 1/2 capacity.

The first obvious response to this is 'Duh, you're running too much power through the damned thing'.  I've done my best to spread the power loads around and when I hook a wattmeter up to this strip, the combined pull of everything on it was 1380 watts.  So upon seeing that I redistributing things a bit and now it sits around 1180 watts which, as far as I know, should be more than enough breathing room for this power strip but after 30-60 minutes it will trip.

Is it possible that the systems power usage spikes briefly?  How big of a role does the ambient temperature play in this as the room currently sits between 35-40 degrees celcius(all GPU's operate around 67 degrees as we have some big fans on this thing)

It's driving me bonkers so any help would be greatly appreciated

The claim that it should run 1875w continuously is a lie.  1875w is the max theoretical draw from a 125V 15A circuit.  North American circuits are designed to have thermal proctection (ie breaker) that clamps around 80%.  Fortunately the person that made the PDU followed the laws and has the PDU thermally breaking the connection for your safety!

In reality most places in NA will have 108-121V line voltage at the wall.  If you assume 120V just to simplify it and use a single number you need to run less than 1440w to be safe on your loading (note that if you have less than 120V you can run less watts before you hit your thermal limit at 80%).

Does temp affect things?  Absolutely, your safety protection is designed, manufactured and tested based on providing safety by thermal shut off protection.

This is also why you don't put extension cords under carpets and other insulating type materials.  They can warm up wires in a local area which won't trip the thermal protection upstream but get wires hot enough to melt plastic coatings which allow live wires to potentially touch and potentially spark potentially causing a fire.

TL;DR.  PDU is cheap, advertising facts are misleading or a lie.  Heat affects thermal protection devices!
919  Other / Meta / Re: Banned - Can a Mod please take a look? on: June 20, 2018, 06:25:24 AM
It's been 2 weeks now - is that enough of a ban?  Can i come back please?

Can you come back, it doesn't appear you left?
Essentially you broke a forum rule and were banned.  You then asked for a second chance saying how much better you would be if the ban was lifted (it wasn't and it is extremely unlikely it will be lifted).  Then you further insult the forum by continuing to break forum rules (I'll leave it to you to figure out which one...)  Your inability to follow the rules of the forum speaks for itself IMO.
