921  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide]: How to disable signatures without using scripts on: January 28, 2019, 09:00:04 AM
@OP
And what about user signature after checking this feature? Will user will be able to use own signature? If able to use will others will be able to see it.
I will like to know the result of all these possibilities.

Anyway I got one useful feature for me at Look and Layout preference.

Show most recent personal messages at top.

Surprising I am looking for this feature , Instead of  finding this feature in "Notification and Email" , I found it there.
922  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Will you pay for hiding your address from the merchant on: January 28, 2019, 03:11:13 AM
just use different address every time...

Real shit by you here. I bet you did not read the OP and following post. Any way I edited the title of OP so that user will understand I am taking about house address not Bitcoin addresses.
923  Other / Serious discussion / Re: A Bullying experiment on: January 27, 2019, 04:40:51 PM
If there are a lot of people around everyone assumes someone else will be the one to help.  It is a completely different situation if you are alone and you see someone getting attacked, then you have a much stronger obligation to help and studies have shown that.

This look flawed logic.

if the problem is not you, you don't want to make problems for ourselves to solve someone else's.

924  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 27, 2019, 02:17:07 PM
Sum of last 4 week merit circulation:

3245+4272+5859+6068= 19444.

sMerits quota for 28 days = 20735 *(28/30) = 19352

19444 > 19352

So Ignoring first few month (airdropped merit effect) and spike occurred in September (cause due to Jr. Member 1 Merit requirement). I guess this is the first time when Merit circulated are more than source sMerits.

I guess main reason might be Pharmacist post which caused theymos to increase the quota of active merit sources and addition of few more merit sources.
925  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Will you pay for hiding your address from the merchant on: January 27, 2019, 01:03:13 PM
you are handling out lot of Information to the merchant.

If you don't trust the merchant with your address, then why are you buying something from him?
Data leak can happen anywhere whether I trust the merchant or not. How good and secure system you create, Social Engineering will always going to be big threat.

I don't think such kind of services exist, but you can have a P.O.Box rented so that you can say the merchant to ship to your box. You can be anonymous but it's not completely possible.

1. Not everybody will able to send to PO box.
2. I guess, you are responsible to pick the articles from PO box, so you are losing the benefit of home delivery.

It is not just about PO box only, it is just the tip you see. Actual problem is many site require "phone number " also. To be fully anonymous I guess ,lot of other services might be needed.

What about Amazon locker points?I think that they were a solution for this problem.
Nope, They are supplier/Merchant here. They know to whom they rented that locker.

926  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $10 million? on: January 27, 2019, 12:01:52 PM

Archived at here.
http://archive.is/a8fAn

OP is clearly a paid shill here. Did you guys did not noticed the connection between the youtube channel and OP username?
I strongly believe these shills (giving a very stupid opinion ) is the reason why people are so much confused.

Do not view these shills spreading lies.
927  Other / Meta / Re: Weird newbie account with 2 merit wearing avatar? on: January 27, 2019, 11:07:47 AM
But he is not the only one wearing , I spotted one more
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2243418

There is nothing about this in Cooper membership link.
Is it accidentally done by Theymos?
928  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why did you add me to your DT0 with ~ on: January 27, 2019, 10:19:17 AM
Reason is very simple here.
Current system can be very easily gamed and you can be very easily in DT2 list (if not in DT1) by just included by one DT1 if no one is excluding you.
So three exclusion , simply means you need 3 inclusion by other DT (a democratic voting.)

Prove yourself a DT material , might be more people will add you or the user above will change the decision.

I do not see any reason for you to open a thread here why somebody included/excluded me/or I am in nobody list. Everybody have their personal preference to include or exclude.

PS: Just curios to know what was your prior contribution to this system before this new system is announced.
929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Steemit.com: Blogging is the new Mining on: January 27, 2019, 09:53:08 AM

SBD is supposed to peg to the US dollar. It isn't perfect but it does seem to get around to pegging eventually. After rising to about $10 last year it ended up back at $1. After dropping to 50 cents a month or two ago it has ended up back close to a dollar (94 cents currently, was recently as high as 98 cents).

STEEM is not pegged to anything. It is worth what it is worth like any other crypto (i.e. more when there are a lot of buyers and less when there are a lot of sellers).

You should not expect there to be any particular relationship between SBD and STEEM.

Does SBD look the failed attempt to create the stable coin then?

Anyways, Is it advisable to invest $10 in steemmonster. I see it is getting marketed by 2 of the "steem witnesses" there so I am wondering whether it is really a good game  or it is just a hype or too much promotion in steemit.

PS: I have 99% willing to try it, may be I buy the pack next week.
930  Bitcoin / Project Development / Will you pay for hiding your Home/house address from the merchant on: January 27, 2019, 08:49:45 AM
I guess when are buying physical good online, whatever mode you use for payment, in the end you are handling out lot of Information to the merchant.
Some of the goods are normal but purchasing some of the good directly point to some the crucial data like your health condition or very specific life style of your's or your family.

What I think , can we have a delivery service company sitting in middle that will accept the shipment from the merchant and afterwards it will send it to my home address.

In this service, merchant do not know my address and my identity is saved. Delivery service know my address but they don't know what I ordered so they will not able to guess my lifestyle.

Any data breach (on physical address) only tell that I am online customer but no body will have idea of which products?

Do you think is there any scope for this kind of services?
931  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: (Pre-Alpha) "King of the Ring" game with Bitcoin prizes (kotr.org) on: January 27, 2019, 08:06:31 AM
What do you mean by "too flashy" Huh

Thanks for your answers.

I opened your site in mobile,  red  blue and yellow  text in black background did not pleased my eyes at all.
932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin sustain itself on fees alone? on: January 27, 2019, 08:00:48 AM
because in the end they are still making one transaction on-chain and that transaction has the usual fee like any other transaction so there is no additional income for the miners.

I am saying at that time that single transaction will not be costing a few cents, instead it will be costing some dollars for each transaction. User will be doing most of transaction in LN, so they will not  mind paying the high fees in blockchain when they will close channel.
933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin sustain itself on fees alone? on: January 27, 2019, 07:47:36 AM
I have this question earlier also and somebody suggested that LN will be able to solve the problem.  If bitcoin cost is high, major transaction will be done on LN and when the channel is closed it will written in blockchain and miner will get good fees for that transaction. But user will not mind it because they have transacted multiple times in LN channel so cost per transaction is still small for user.

Sorry: It is all from my memory as I recall, might be some facts get distorted.
934  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [FOR MERIT] when was the word "halvening" created. on: January 27, 2019, 07:36:20 AM
It is really very interesting question. I thought that satoshi should tell about the block rewards in the White paper, but there is no mention of it in the whitepaper. Satoshi left the forum much before the halvening  take place.

I like to use the LoyceV AI capabilities to find the answer of this question.
935  Other / Meta / Re: 270 trust.7 trust.3 trust compared to minus 128 trust on: January 27, 2019, 06:46:41 AM

Benefit of doubt because of some reasons. Feel free to post your opinion in that thread.

I read that thread anyways I will reply here.
Since this is not a forum rule and trust is also very subjective so you are all free (with your reasonable thinking) what to tag or what not to tag.

Actually, main responsibility lies with theymos to declare the "Account sales" prohibitive.  I do not find this logic sound "if we cannot prevent it, so we will not make rule for it".

There are so many sites and games accounts that openly sell in market while there TOS forbid it. They just ban the user who are proved guilty. They are not going with logic "Since we are not able to catch all buyers, so we will not ban anybody".

So from past stats, look like 48 more user make up to this list.
As per user is Merited by 100+ user in this forum, number jumped from 41 to 53.

"#N/A" in previous value means that user is included in recent list only, not eligible in previous list.

Anybody want some other stats, I will like to try for it.

There is a news that Samsung is going to provide the Crytocurrency  wallet in galaxy S10.

This looks to me a very positive move if it happen.

Showing -128 to me, I was assumed this question will come out about account sell.  @theymos could you now ban account sell on the forum ? Account sell now become more easy by collateral for loan.

I am seeing double standard s here, Zoel is negatively trusted ( because account is sold) and the seller is positively trusted.  Ironically lender is fully aware here that "account sales are frowned" still lender sold the account. I guess earlier I used to see account sellers also having negative feedback.
