Anyone know if there's a port setting to change in CryptoGlance to get the SP20 info to show up? I'm guessing something is not correct as other manufacturer's machines show up and I've seen screen shots on here of someone having it working.

Not so much concerned with power as with noise as this is sitting not that far from my desk. 1378 GH with only 20% Fan, love these things (SP20's).

Very nice.  Are you able to use a 750w PSU with that?

Bitmain, why are the coupons different amounts to different people?

Its to do with the batches and inter-batches having different prices and shipping dates.

You sure about that?  Mine was first batch and only $30 coupons.
I'm guessing the logic is that earlier batches got their machines earlier and thus have recouped more of the cost through mining... is that right?

Maybe but doesn't make sense as the price was dropped for later batches also. I'd question if the s5 has even recouped $30 yet.

I posted this on the SP-T thread, and also PM'd, but thought I'd see if someone here knew the answer.

Quick questions:

What's the yellow flashing light (9x repeating) mean?  Everything looks to be mining just fine, but noticed one unit doing this.

Also, I know it's been discussed why Loop #1 & #3 run hotter, but was there a quick fix to help with it like turning on it's side or something?

Don't know.  My S5 units are running stock and in spec.  SP20s are running great.  The 1.7T is not reachable in my environment, but 1.5-1.6 is easy. That ability and better construction makes the SP20 worth a premium over the S5.  But how much?

you can ask the question differently. Depending on your circuits, you can put one SP-20 (downlocked to ~1.27-1.3Th and 700W) AND one S5 on one 110/120v/15A circuit, OR two Sp20 at 800W (1.36 Th) on a 20A circuit. I think assessing what circuits are available and where (rooms, garage, shed) determines the optimal set of miners.
My take: if you like to fiddle with software and good support-SP20 is for you-endless possibilities in adjusting. If you like physical mods-S5 might have an edge as you can build a shroud, try different fan combos, etc. To my ears, S5 sound (at default) is much worse than Sp20 (at least at setting 30), but S5 may sound better with a third party fan.

+1 100% agreed.

With Coinbase I dont like the fact that you cant place limit orders to buy and sell, only market.  And the spreads are wide too.

I use the bitcoin trader app on my nexus 7 and also running on a PC using an android emulator.  It lets you set limit orders and such.  Picked up some btc at the $258 range this weekend using it.

The current/on going reduction in bitcoin price had me thinking this weekend about our vendors.  Remember the good old days of Bitmain pricing merchandise in bitcoin instead of USD?  Yes there are wild fluctuations in btc price, but if the vendors don't think enough about it to use it as value instead of basing products on USD, why should anyone else? Just something to think about.

it is difficult to price item in something this volatile, but great for transmission. In any case, I don't know what they and coinbase are basing the price of BTC off right now? OKCoin?, btce?

Bitmain's website is currently about $8/btc lower than Coinbase.

i see roughly the same price on coinbase website ~267-268 as on btc-e/okcoin

Agreed.  You have to watch it though because most of the time Coinbase is higher than Btc-e.  As whacked as the market is right now, it's anybody's guess. Just be sure to purchase when they are close or btc-e happens to be higher if you use Coinbase.

cool, but SP20's price is no longer competitive

the bitmaintech price drop for the s-5 was very big.

Don't forget you get what you pay for.  Bitmain hardware, unfortunately, now has a reputation for being lower quality.  Also their customer service tends to be pretty poor as well.

Yeah, saw that.  It changed after I placed my 4 unit order through the GB.  I would have thought a GB would be better pricing than 3 unit orders. Sad

it was just a couple $ less per unit sans GB fee.

OgNasty measurements:

Spondoolies SP20
Using a voltage setting of 0.62 my SP20 was able to get 1.2TH/s while using 640 watts (0.53W/GH) and exhausting 124 degree heat.

So if SP-T is going to compare the SP20 to S5, can we get S5 pricing?  They are down to $353 each for a 2 pack shipped to US.  If you are changing, then I want to change my order to a mini-farm Smiley

SP-T, what's your reason for using USD?

Kano,

Is there a way to delete some workers from our pool under manage workers tab?
You wont ever be able to 'delete' workers.
However, on the 7 mile long todo list there will be an option to ignore workers with no results more than some limit in the past.
I'll sort out how that's handled when I get to it - still not 100% decided.

Gotcha thanks.

How to buy this groupbouy ?
should I request to OP or just buy
from this link http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/roadstresss-sp20-special-holiday-gb ?

Read the OP instructions and use the link.

yeap .. almost double of my average household consumption.

You don't need a lot of cooling for 1 unit though. It's like a 70 deg. C room heater good to keep the garage warm in the winter. In the summer, you just need to vent that heat (i.e. keep the garage door cracked, if no animals visit you .. heh).

You're right, one unit is not really a problem.  I'm trying to figure out power arrangements for 8 of them and still be able to turn on the lights at the office. Smiley

A secondary beaker will help.   Also if you are underclocking that 8 will take much less power.  Depending on your settings the amount of power needed very greatly.

Yeah, but most places here in the US don't wire one outlet per circuit.  Typically one room or more might be on the same 20a circuit.
