921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 10, 2016, 04:42:32 PM

How about an offer to the Crypti holders to sell them the collected XCR for a price X, let's say 650 sat?

for half? kidding me? Then everyone would throw their crypti in there in order to buy them back for the half...
IF there was something like that it has to be the same rate in both directions...

Why does anyone think XCR will even be worth 650 after the ICO? I mean, before the ICO it did get up to 1300-1400ish (at very low volume), but for a decent amount of time XCR was barely above 650 to begin with (again at low volume).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but by 6 months after the ICO is over, I'm not sure if there is any guarantee anyone will even be running XCR anymore. Lead dev for XCR even going to keep working on the coin? Foundation members still involved?

Now factor in a stronger competitor (Lisk), with lead dev of XCR now assisting Lisk, and over half of the XCR in the hands of one party (Lisk devs) ... why would anyone want to invest in XCR?

The best way for XCR to survive would be for a new dev to take over the coin, change how it works or differentiate it (a lot), and for the Lisk devs to burn a large percentage of their XCR. I'm not sure if it's worth even 650 to take the risk all of those things will occur.
922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elastic - Scam or legit? on: March 10, 2016, 06:21:04 AM
Beats me if it's legit or not. I'd like to think it is, but there are certainly red flags.

Original dev (Lionel) apparently wrote a whitepaper for a coin that wouldn't work. He asked for BTC without a real plan to make a working coin and was adamant against escrow. He stated he would post his personal info in the forums, yet never did. Then seemingly vanished, and EK took over the project.

EK also had been adamant against the idea of using escrow (even though he wasn't even in charge of the coin while he was arguing this).

And I guess due to legal reasons, there is now some new guy, Lannister, who is in charge of the website and the donated funds. No idea who he is, what his background is, or his real name.

Most of the forum is full of technical discussion between 2-3 people -- stuff devs normally talk about behind the scenes or with whomever is actually coding the coin. Nothing wrong with that, but very little real info has been presented ... like who is coding the thing, or background info on whatever team they do have.

Let's just say one would need a high threshold of risk to put any serious money into it right now. Like seriously 'willing to throw away btc' type of risk threshold.
923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 10, 2016, 02:12:09 AM
0.02 USD is coming..

congrats! Grin

and with 59798281.56948899 XCR lisk also own the 59% of crypti right?

They should stop accepting XCR already. They won't be able to liquidate it anytime soon, if ever. Lisk Devs may be holding that XCR bag for a long long time which may hurt the liquidity of Lisk development funds.

They realized ahead of time that the XCR coins taken in would be of limited real value. XCR will in effect be dead (or dead-ish), after the ICO. Even if by some miracle the coin survives, no sane person would want to invest in a coin where a single party owns 60%+ of it... never-ending sell pressure.

And it won't hurt the Lisk dev funds, as they never planned on the XCR taken in to be major source of those funds in the first place. The BTC taken in is what they'll use.
924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LISK price speculation on: March 10, 2016, 02:00:04 AM
I would be very happy with 5x, but no doubt i will have cashed out before then anyway. Invested 1 BTC so i might take it back out at 3x and ride the rest.

That's the safe way to play it ... once you get your initial investment back, just leave the coins alone and wait. I'd say wait 6 months to a year, but it depends on how badly you need that btc. Of course if the coin doesn't go to 3-4x value, that plan doesn't work so well...

I put in 2.5 btc (equivalent, some xcr + 1 btc). That extra bitcoin's worth is just for trading with/recouping my investment.
925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 09, 2016, 10:38:46 PM

Please no Yobit.... they launch fake ICO's to solve liquidity problems... same for BTER... you should not link your name to them...

But that's just my thoughts...

Usually I would say more the merrier with exchanges, but in this case I agree with you. Only reason to use dinky exchanges is if a coin can't initially get on either Bittrex or Polo. Strange as it sounds to say this, Poloniex is one of the big boys now, so guess that should be the main goal to start with.

I haven't kept track of  the Chinese exchanges, but ideally the coin would get on one of those too (and obviously not Bter).
926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 09, 2016, 07:09:30 PM

It's just to get some ideas and activity into the forum. It also shows what is possible with Lisk and what is on the users minds. The prizes aren't big, because we have no access to the funds right now. There will be much bigger competitions in the future. Wink

Yeah, I didn't mean it as a knock on the contest... any idea contest could potentially have problems like I mentioned. Guess I meant it just as a warning that it may not work out so great for anyone to post their 'once in a lifetime' idea, as someone else could just say it was their idea too. They'd be better off waiting for a later contest, or just make the thing themselves outside of any contest.

As just a general way to get folks talking about ideas, it's fine though.
927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 09, 2016, 06:49:25 PM
Tell us your best Dapp ideas & win great prizes!

*snip*

How do we enter?  Is there a thread post on BTT dedicated to entrants?

I believe all you need to do is enter your idea on the Lisk forums, in their decentralized app section. Although looking at how this is set up, one can see potential problems.

Nothing to stop someone else from simply stealing an idea you post, sprucing it up a bit better than you, and by the contest rules, end up winning the contest. Or the opposite... someone having a great idea early on, posting it before you, even if you could code the entire thing by yourself in a weekend.

It's sort of a weird way to run a contest, especially since I expect a lot of repeated ideas ... and only three winners.
928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LISK price speculation on: March 08, 2016, 10:20:29 PM
If all the people who want lisk bought it already at the ICO who will buy it once it hits exchanges directly after the ICO finishes?

Don't you guys see the flaw in your master plan?

If people behaved logically, that argument would make all of the sense in the world. But that same exact argument was used against ETH during its ICO, as well. People use emotion when investing (usually too often), so if the coin starts to rise after it hits an exchange, they jump in ... same reason why people jump into a coin even though its been pumped several times its original value. Although not optimal profit, they are still hoping for some profit.

As for the price after it hits the exchange, who knows really. Typical behavior would be a 2-3x rise, then dump, sometimes near ICO levels, sometimes below. Maybe all the XCR people will dump, killing the coin... maybe a whale or two will pump ... anyone guessing now is just saying whatever they want to occur. The one bright side is with the btc taken in -- if used wisely -- the coin should be able to survive any potential dumping.
929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCR] Crypti | Dapps | Sidechains | Dapp Store | OPEN SOURCE | 100% own code | DPoS on: March 08, 2016, 07:09:21 PM

yeah bter lol ,sorry man .
Are you assuming withdrawal issues because there would be no network?

I'm not assuming there will be problems, but I wouldn't rule it out either. A lot of people probably will be withdrawing all around the same time... so you never know. If close to the deadline and there is a long delay, those slow withdrawals then become worthless.

As for Bter, I did escape somewhat unscathed. I chatted with a Bter rep (this was when the ICO first started), and knew something was odd... their rep kept giving me vague answers, saying to 'wait to withdraw' and so on. So I just cancelled the withdrawal and sold at around 920 (so technically a minor profit). Not as good as simply converting to Lisk, considering I had to rebuy at around 1000 or so, but it could have been worse.

I figured by now the Bter issues would have been fixed, and whomever bought my XCR got a nice bargain... but I guess not.
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCR] Crypti | Dapps | Sidechains | Dapp Store | OPEN SOURCE | 100% own code | DPoS on: March 08, 2016, 06:40:19 PM

He is only interested in the 4.8 profit of BTC that he is goin to make ... once the ICO for the LISK shit gets to 0% bonus. Wink
Since there will be more dumb fucks buying crypti at 1300 ish .. in 5 days ..

I wonder about that though. I'd say you are probably right, but there could be a lot of XCR people still about, and realizing they only have one week to unload their XCR before it plummets to nowhere. If too many XCR people are still around (and they don't want to go into Lisk), they could push the price down ... or more or less where it is right now. That also assumes there are no XCR withdrawal issues... in that case, nobody will want to buy XCR even at a discount.

I'm not saying this to keep the price at any particular level, as I already got my fill of Lisk ... but I too have looked at the XCR prices and wondered about folk's math skills. I sold most of my XCR above ICO price  during the 15% discount (beats me why folks paid that much)... then caught XCR dumped at about 1000 (actually first caught it at 880ish on Bter, but that didn't work out so well).
931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 07, 2016, 09:05:50 PM
Any news on BTER? I have a friend who is stuck there - I'm trying to help him exit BTER so he can take part in the crowd sale. Look's like the BTER XCR hot wallet is empty and that they have given up on doing anything to help.

Thx!

Only thing I can suggest, which is a lousy option, is if he has a stuck withdrawal, have him cancel it, and try to sell the XCR (probably at a loss, certainly less than ICO prices). XCR won't come out, but BTC will (or at least did a couple of weeks ago).
932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [OFFICIAL] [SEC] Safe Exchange Coin [website www.safex.io] on: March 07, 2016, 08:46:47 PM

Well 21M coins just got bought so I guess someone noticed Tongue

Yeah, noticed that. Weird thing is how little it'd really take to get the coin 4-5x higher. Guess that's partly due to being on Bittrex, which isn't the highest volume exchange to begin with.

Has the dev tried to get the coin on more exchanges? Things could get really interesting if it gets onto Polo.
933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 07, 2016, 08:06:23 PM

Could you please inform me about what price ico crypti was and what was its higher price. I know it's not all about the price, but I know even that people buy crypto even for making profit, so price is important.

Been ages since the ICO, but I seem to recall it going to about 3-4x ICO values, then falling... then low volume for a long, long time.
934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 07, 2016, 06:41:50 PM

People forget that the Dapp contest failed on Crypti, which was in JavaScript too:

https://crypti.me/contest

Crypti bag holders are going to dump their Lisk so hard after Lisk launches. I'm waiting to buy Lisk under this over-priced ICO rate.

ps. Anyone noticed how almost ALL promoters in this thread come from Crypti thread ?

They also didn't have much money to use for that contest either.

I get why you are posting... you want to knock Lisk so you can get a better price later on if it dumps on the exchange. Of course what you post now will have no effect on the price weeks from now, so I suggest you wait until the coin hits the exchange before going into FUD mode.

Probably shouldn't be so transparent either  -- not that everyone doesn't already know why people spread FUD (or hype).

I also won't say you are wrong, it's possible XCR people will dump. No guarantee they will dump below ICO prices however.
935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [OFFICIAL] [SEC] Safe Exchange Coin [website www.safex.io] on: March 07, 2016, 06:35:59 PM

No the dev does not post here. http://discuss.safex.io/ everything gets posted there and answered there by the dev tho.

Okay, that explains why the coin hasn't gotten as much attention here as one would logically think.
936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [OFFICIAL] [SEC] Safe Exchange Coin [website www.safex.io] on: March 07, 2016, 04:16:34 PM
Seeing that MAID got a lot of attention recently and the price shot up, why didn't SEC follow suit?
Is it because a lot of people don't know about SEC's amazing potential?

Do the devs for the coin ever post over here at all? It's sort of oddly quiet over here, which probably is the key reason there isn't much interest yet.

Caught some coin from the dump yesterday (after trying and missing the other dumps)... but like most people, I wasn't even aware of this when it was cheaper or during the ICO phase.

With all the attention Maid has been getting, sort of surprised Polo hasn't picked this one up yet. Potential for extra volume from those who missed out on Maid early on.
937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCR] Crypti | Dapps | Sidechains | Dapp Store | OPEN SOURCE | 100% own code | DPoS on: March 07, 2016, 04:11:11 PM
Did anyone succeeded withdrawing from Bter?
Wallet still empty?

Bter hot wallet is still empty. No transaction since 12 days.
see https://cryptichain.lisk.io/address/6746720336938643271C

The balance of the cold wallet is 10,966,007 XCR.
see https://cryptichain.lisk.io/address/983470101446368718C

You know when I see that, I wonder if someone at Bter isn't doing something sneaky. Like grabbing the XCR from panicked buyers dumping so they can turn into Lisk themselves. Otherwise it makes no sense why they haven't filled the hot wallet... nobody is that busy, nor that lazy.

938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 07, 2016, 04:06:53 PM

I don't think that someone will sell their LISKs lower then ICO price.
More BTC gathered from ICO - more potention for development and marceting.

Early in the ICO I too thought there would be an initial dump, due to XCR holders cashing out. Now... not so sure. As you say, with that amount of BTC taken in, there is a lot of future potential. I do expect a dump (it happens with all ICOS)... just not sure it'll go below ICO prices.

I know some may look as ETH as a competitor, but it may be the reason the coin brought in so much, and also why there may not be as much dumping as one would think... I expect a number of people look at how ETH has done, and wonder if they just hold for a year, what the price may be.
939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 07, 2016, 02:57:30 AM

My thoughts exactly.

I'll wait and buy during the inevitable dump that always happens after launch.

Lot of early investors that are pumping here are waiting for launch to cash out their bonuses on day 1.

I considered doing the same. But there is no guarantee that the dump ends up being below ICO prices.
Or below XCR prices (if you got XCR cheap enough on the exchanges). For a lot of us, the exchange rate can go below ICO levels and we are still in profit (however meager it may be), so that's an alternative to waiting and buying later. Admittedly it's probably not so easy to do now ... XCR prices have crept up.
940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 06, 2016, 07:57:42 PM

I have never seen an ICO where the core Dev blatantly says: "4% for me & 4% for my partner"

I agree, I usually don't see that either.

Instead  devs usually would use a pre-mine, instamine or ICO manipulation so they end up with much more of the coin (certainly more than 8%), which they then could do whatever they wanted to with. I find it weird how folks here thinks devs do things from the goodness of their hearts or don't plan to make money ... usually devs are sneaky how they go about it, and even greedier.

The ICO funds are for development/hiring. Their own coin they can do whatever they want to with. Ideally it's just more of an incentive for them to raise the price of Lisk long-term.
