921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the tension make you take risk that are sometimes worth it? on: January 05, 2024, 07:49:22 AM

OP could just be that lucky but more than often a gambler who takes risks playing while under pressure will not be able to think wisely in decision making.

Surely like the kind of scenario you raised about the wife going under the knife, it is such a precarious situation that I wonder who will be able to think properly in gambling that way.

Whatever we do in the midst of pressure, mistake is likely to occur and gambling is not excluded. If you gamble in such way like in football game you can leave out the game you intend to include and also taking higher risk you can not afford to lose because of the target you are aiming at to be able to take care of the financial challenges. But as we know, to already have the amount of money we are in need of to gamble for it is such a misleading way to gamble because most times it doesn't work that way.
922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [A POLL] Without Chances of Making Money, Will you still be gambling? on: January 04, 2024, 09:06:22 PM
If you can not win back some money, then it is not gambling but just for fun and very few people will play it. Those who will play such are those who are really playing for the fun of it but it is called betting because you are staking to win something and not just the fun. Many gamblers bet to win and not for fun. Therefore, if there is a game that I have to pay to play without means that I should get rewarded if I win the game then I won't be playing.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you see a gambling review website that has its own gambling website? on: January 04, 2024, 07:16:50 PM
If the review website is big and trusted. will definitely not be affiliated or have a relationship with the owner of the gambling website. they only accept advertising and reviews to get paid.
If it's a new review website, it might be affiliated with gambling site owners.
But if the big ones have been popular for a long time, they must be trusted

If they are big or not or even whether affiliated or not, the moment that are biase about their review on the mother casino then they have set the pace for distrust. So in such case, they need to be careful if they want to continue being in business because one bad biase review on themselves puts them in the doubt of their review but as to having a review site from a casino, I don't think it is an issue.
924  Other / Politics & Society / Re: People wake up now on: January 04, 2024, 02:28:03 PM
No doubt banks are creating hate on themselves by this current idea of keeping cash away from the owners. The banks are suppose to be channels for cash receiver and transaction but the government is now forcing digital banking down the throat of people by taking it away especially during the festive season which is discouraging people from further saving in this current year. Perhaps this kind of development is what will increase the volatility in crypto this bull run because more people will prefer to hodl their money in crypto where they can easily access it and not in banks where they will ration fiat and encourage you to go digital whilst it original jurisdiction is to be physical.
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you see a gambling review website that has its own gambling website? on: January 04, 2024, 02:12:27 PM

As a review site running its own gambling site, there might be a concern that they could potentially undermine their competitors on their website to boost their own standing in the competition. This could involve making biased or false statements to praise their own website.

Notwithstanding, it will not make any much difference as gamblers will not be forced to believe what was reviewed by them on their own site. I believe gamblers will also rely on another reviewing site for their own collaborated analysis, it is as simple as that.

Reviewing site are at liberty to have a casino just as a casino owner can play in his casino if he chooses, I don't think there is any law limiting reviewing sites from having their own casino too . It is for the gambler who is using the review site to accept or not to accept what they have reviewed on their own site.
926  Economy / Economics / Re: How is it possible to say there is no money in the bank on: January 04, 2024, 12:37:26 PM

When they say they have no money, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're out of funds. It's just that some or most of the funds they have are in digital. What it means is they have no enough physical cash. That's why most of the time, big accounts who wants to withdraw huge amount of money, they inform banks beforehand so when they come to that branch, they're ready.

I think you have an idea of what this is even though government could be selfish not to do the real thing. When they say no money like I said also to what idea you have dropped, they could be having a different financial policy at that point in time but it will not be made public to every body, only to few top officials of the government. Also, the government may be discouraging cash flowing physically but encouraging online transaction as a global practice and also the use of CBDC which is a digital financial policy also.
927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: why do people always play gambling even if they always lose? on: January 04, 2024, 11:50:24 AM

but about your friend ? maybe he is enjoying feeding those gambling site owner or casino owner , he loves giving his money to their pockets?

No, there is no gambler who is losing that enjoys giving his money to the house or the owner by the way of losing. Rather, they are consistently playing to try their luck on winning back what they have. I could imagine losing on a streak and then enjoying the way that your money is being wasted, no gambler will enjoy that. Gamblers wish to be profitable all the time and that is the reason to go back to playing even after vowing not to continue playing. There are some gamblers that are fade up from playing but later decide to play for few times maybe they see a game thinking they can have a win and unfortunately they won't win but end up continuing playing. Such happens because they want to try getting back the losses they had before they stop.
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 04, 2024, 11:33:30 AM

This now triggered me to come ask here whether you cares about what people says or sees you as when gambling,

You could start looking at what people say about you when you are not profiting in gambling but if you are, the people who would see you will want to join your groof to see if you can predict to them the right game to bet on. You know success has many followers but failure is scorned at. So those gamblers who are always losing their game are those that will be worried about what people are saying and not the people who are winning bets that they stake.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the tension make you take risk that are sometimes worth it? on: January 04, 2024, 08:58:49 AM

losing in the casino will bring more pressure hanging on your shoulder. i think i would rather not bet when i'm not sure to win. but i did gamble at a billard table with just a promise to pay. if i lost the game and they found out i had no money, i might just be in a big trouble. luckily i won.

I understand the kind of shame and pressure it is when playing in billard table and losing because some friends would also be around playing and probably winning while you are not. It is shameful to always play games that you won't win. Likewise, I like to win in such game in the presence of people so that I would also be known as someone knowing the game but not just player that losses.

930  Economy / Economics / Re: How is it possible to say there is no money in the bank on: January 04, 2024, 04:19:13 AM
Banks are controlled by the government and when government want to regulate some of their financial policy, it is through the banks that they do it. So it could be a reason of such regulation, perhaps trying to control the amount of money in circulation to reduce inflation because it is an economic idealogy that if there is too much money in the economy, it could be the reason for inflation and to reduce it is to make the flow of money reduced which is not without its own effect.

Another possible reason is that government may have loan huge amount of money to some big investors through the banks. You know government is secretive and such could be going on without the public being aware, they divert the minds of the public with different stories.
931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: January 03, 2024, 10:16:33 PM
Yes it will be a lie to us if we get addicted on gambling and make the gambling for only one purpose for earning and also get into the greediness. So it is natural that those public will not or can not take the gambling for the purpose of entertainment. So ultimately those who we take gambling as an purpose or desire of our entertainment are always make gambling for the fun and it is not lie for them.

The point is gamble is entertaining but what it involves is money which you either lose or gain. So the reality is how someone feels when they lose of course sad, and I have not seen someone who win that is not happy. Therefore, if a winner is happy because he won then that means he would have been unhappy because he lost and his life system would have totally changed at least at the moment and depending on how much he has lost. However, what I understand is that gambling is majorly a luck gaming.
932  Other / Off-topic / Re: The internet and it's importance to this present day generation on: January 03, 2024, 09:06:29 PM
Is it only in letter writing that you would think people of this time are lazy? Have you also thought of other internet opportunities that they have harnessed to better their living on earth with the information and jet age. Have you not considered that more people are getting rich these days unlike in the past when riches only circulate in royal families and that is because of the internet opportunities which cut across the globe and from where ever you are, you can tap into it if you believe. Like cryptocurrency investment is one of those opportunities and people are already investing to grow their worth financially by the time halving happens. So it is not laziness and letter writing has not gone rather probably modified for processing.

Moreover, people are more creative now than in the past and if you check the social media, there are different people making a living from the internet showcasing talents and running different business investments.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the tension make you take risk that are sometimes worth it? on: January 03, 2024, 04:11:29 PM

So I would like to know your own experience when making or taking risk in gambling under pressure.

Well gambling is majorly believe to be a lucky game and if that is so it means no matter the frame of mind you are at the time you gamble it, it doesn't matter. What will be will be. I know of someone who gambled with eager and all his games where successful and he cashed out big and also some people take their time to relax while analysing and predicting their game yet it was failure, so it is not predetermined to be in a certain mode before you win a game.
934  Economy / Economics / Re: Habits that can lead to your financial failure in 2024 on: January 03, 2024, 03:21:49 PM
You have listed quite a number of factors that will hinder success at anytime. I believe the most of the factors is subsumed on proper planning or budgeting both in finance and our person too. Planning is not only about money but we also need to take ourselves into consideration. You don't need to start something that you can't commit yourself into because of lack of time. If you start up something it means you have invested money into it and when you can't follow it up and allow it to go down it means you have wasted that money. Therefore, we need to avoid wastages and focus on the things that we can highly perform on which means profit will be secured.
935  Other / Archival / Re: Generational wealth on: January 03, 2024, 01:56:38 PM
Generational wealth is not directed to one person alone, everyone is entitled to have share under it but not everyone will definitely be a partakers in them because not all are ready to give the necessary requirements needed for it to be achieved, we should know that everything good in life comes with a task in demand, we therefore must be ready to make it a duty in working things out for ourselves through how we were being determined for it to make it come a reality, it's easy to make wealth but not easy to sustain it.

Yeah I like the last line. You can create wealth but to sustain it not easy. Many people while alive are living on past glory, you hear them tell you about how wealthy they were in the past and how they did some certain things worth a whole lot of money at last they couldn't sustain the wealth they created by themselves. It is worse when you leave this earth and rely on heirs to take care of what you have laboured and built, it is no where an easy task to sustain but some have survived if they are tied to global and international conglomerate, if you depend on local then it may not see a decade after you have gone.
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gaming promotions to earn actual money on: January 03, 2024, 11:52:32 AM
I have not been lucky to win from such. I think I have once had a bonus on a gambling account were I had free spin and I tried over it to no avail. I feel it is more of luck than a definite effort to win from free tickets just like in real game. However, I have seen gamblers who have won from it.
937  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do we Need Morality and Ethics in Politics in our Society? on: January 03, 2024, 10:09:07 AM
The underlining factor of the economy is politics and if you take away ethics in politics, you are going to see routiness in the system of governance and that is exactly what is going on now. It is not a surprise that politics is wrongly practiced in most of the country as it has corrupted the fabric of economic growth.

The question is, is there a way that ethics will be brought back to politics? If this were possible then I would say there is hope to correct certain things but the people in government have taken personal decision to embezzle instead of keeping collective stand to uphold and improve on state resources.
938  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Poverty change people on: January 03, 2024, 09:22:16 AM

It’s very unfortunate to be born with poor life. You know the saying that it’s a sin to die poor, it is easier said that done. Being poor can mess people up, turning them into liars and making them feel stuck and fake. It messes with kids too because they are born with lack of resources. It's a tough cycle to break.

Someone who is born poor should not lose hope in his or herself because so many people have climbed the rope of richness despite being in the family of poor. It is about not liking the situation you meet yourself and making frantic effort to leave that lane. So it takes focus to pursue a dream separate from the family line because the family is not getting things right or are not in the direction of wealth creation, so taking a new part can be a solution.

No need to keep staying on the ground while worshipping those at the top. Now there are different means to be rich, the internet has given so much equal opportunity to everyone one only if you take right step to tap into the opportunity provided in this modern day world.
939  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Best advice for 2024 on: January 02, 2024, 08:39:58 PM

  • Learn at least a tech skill  no matter your field or area of study

940  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for January on: January 02, 2024, 07:39:46 PM
ETF or not if we look at the close of December and also how the candle has formed, it is probably looking to be a sustainable increase for bitcoin and if the etf is negative, the correction may not last a long time down before halving. So I think it is still a win win for bitcoin and bitcoin hodlers with the time remaining for halving.
