941  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Quantum Computing and Bitcoin on: January 26, 2019, 04:23:00 PM
I see lot of technical point discussed here about the safety of money in bank vs vulnerability in their system too. Anyway bank and financial institution will spend money or other measure to safeguard money.
But what now concern s me that QC just make any online system ( that keep password) very vulnerable until they don't put QC resistant algorithm. With current price of QC , I think these algorithm will be sold in much premium cost. It means securing information in any online system will be going to most expensive way. Will be going back to eras of pre 1990s then.
942  Other / Meta / Re: Annoying copper membership PM and signature view on inbox. on: January 26, 2019, 11:41:47 AM
If you are getting some annoying PM then just use "Report to Admin" for that PM. Administration will definitely look and start blocking (may ban too) PM from that user.

Actually there is no need to see them as "lowly creatures" that should not able to PM you. Only reason I understand of newbie restrictions because forum account is created without any check and anybody can create multiple accounts within a minute and start spamming.

I believe less in restrictions but no mercy for rule breakers.
If Copper Member is breaking rule it should be dealt according to forum rule.
943  Other / Meta / Re: The name is the same as, staff, monderator forum. on: January 26, 2019, 01:34:05 AM
That is the reason when you got the mail from newbie, you get big  warning in red to confirm the identity. In few cases  it might be luck by chance that user took the already established username.
That the reason where staked address and signed message play a crucial part because imposter cannot be able to sign from your wallet.
944  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't buy steemit accounts from others, buy it officially and legally on: January 25, 2019, 06:06:23 PM
Opening Steemit accounts has become much more difficult, and sometimes impossible without paying the required fee, even after waiting two weeks.

Few of the user already lost the username when the account finally created.

Why did they take these kind of precautions measures, mind explaining it to me?

Not sure ,but might be referring to the same reason.

I have never even tried to buy a steemit account I prefer to wait till I get the confirmation code although this take a good deal of time because there are also so many taking the same option but it's cheaper for me that way

But few people want it quick.

945  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stock Trading: How do I learn how to trade stocks for some bucks? on: January 25, 2019, 05:27:37 PM
I'd suggest avoiding courses entirely. That's what the majority of people will be doing.

Somewhat I agree that practical knowledge plays much bigger role than bookish knowledge but there is no harm in getting bookish knowledge also.
They give you the ability to think and try different options overall expanding your knowledge and give you confidence to tackle practical situations.

Thanks Jack -it's my fat fingers that are the problem. I try to pretend that it's a dodgy keyboard, but people seem to suspect the truth. Smiley

I agree.

947  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Samsung S10 crypto wallet leaks on: January 25, 2019, 04:19:52 PM
To me Samsung is too big to officially support crypto. It may be just a clickbait article.

It might be clickbait article but it is possible.

When one of the big companies of korea , Hyundai   can launch their ICO , then I forsee Samsung might be releasing the wallet.

Just wondering , if Samsung launch its own ICO/blockchain in near future.
948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So I told my banker about bitcoin on: January 25, 2019, 11:45:32 AM
Actually technology is advancing at very fast pace, 20 years before I used to write and wait for letters. Now nobody write, we just call.
So most of the people who already crossed 40 years or did not embraced technology in last decade are worst hit by technology advancement.
As far Bitcoin wallet is concerned it is technical stuff and only interested people are using , nobody is getting any commercial/government pressure to adopt Bitcoin so they can choose to remain ignorant.
949  Economy / Services / Re: GET PAID TO USE SOCIAL MEDIA on: January 25, 2019, 05:32:34 AM
Who's going to do escrow for an amount less than $5?

You can pay it upfront if the account is above Member level (and having Neutral pr positive trust). Very unlikely Member account having neutral or positive trust will scam you for $5. Only concern here I see you are not looking advertisement here, so very hard to verify.

OP, Good luck for your campaign. Will be happy to see you to do a successful campaign here instead of one more red painted newbie.

950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Steemit.com: Blogging is the new Mining on: January 25, 2019, 04:27:59 AM
Guys, look like after dipping up to 6K Satoshi, steem now hovering around 11K. SBD is currently around 26K Satoshi.

I have few questions.
Why Steem is so underpriced as compared to SBD?
My thinking is reverse that Steem should be priced more than SBD.
Is anybody is earning from Steemit?  Any tips (you can pm me too.)
I currently have 115SP and I delegated 100 to @tipu.
951  Economy / Services / Re: GET PAID TO USE SOCIAL MEDIA on: January 25, 2019, 12:53:26 AM
Instead of paying user for mentioning your site in post, you can start the signature campaign here.
List of Signature designer is below:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1610428.0

List of campaign manager is below:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4412712.0

If you do not want to take services of campaign manager and want to try your campaign yourself, then escrow the amount.
List of trusted escrower in this forum as below:

952  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Infographic]: Guide on possible reasons to leave a -ve/+ve trust feedbacks. on: January 24, 2019, 06:55:51 PM
Example of situation users was tagged for trying to sell btt account collected as collateral. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5037540.0

You still missed the point, User is tagged for trying to sell  the account  that is collected as collateral. User was not tagged for accepting the account as collateral. Only disadvantage is that you can still accept account as collateral but you cannot liquidate it. If borrower is valuing it's own account then definitely borrower will pay the loan.
953  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: What is bitcoin's largest obstacle to bitcoin adoption? on: January 24, 2019, 05:47:09 PM

2. Even though web wallets are not the safer option, they are good for adoption. Common people, especially older people (at their 50s for example) are much more used to an e-mail access than to a private key etc... BLockchain.info , for example, allowed thousands or even millions of users to create a simple wallet and use it. Ofc you will not put thousands of dollars there, but for a few bucks its perfectly fine. Easy to use, and great for newbies.
If somehow his wallet is hacked, itīs bad for adoption.... but if wallets such as Electrum were the only option, only a few crypto nerds would adopt bitcoin.

Apart from security issue, the transaction fees is also issue for few of these web wallets.  I forgot now what Coinbase was charging but it look to me very high fees that I just avoided coinbase even they are giving $10 free .
Many people start with faucets and faucets charges a premium fees to withdraw bitcoin, that also gives a very wrong impression. (I recall faucethub charges 10 mbtc to withdraw btc).
When I started, I was really confused how btc transactions are cheap when everybody charging so high transaction fees.
954  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: What is bitcoin's largest obstacle to bitcoin adoption? on: January 24, 2019, 05:03:29 PM
1. Hold Mentality.
2. Using Web wallets or using Exchange as wallet.(not using own wallet)
3. Block Confirmation time
4. Most of government do not recognize it.
5. Main stream media still take it as Ponzi scheme.
6. Big Cooperation are more interested in their own private block chain and token.
955  Other / Meta / Re: Signature advertisers: suggestions? on: January 24, 2019, 02:46:40 PM
Few additional suggestion.
3. Individual not having gained a single merit in last 120 days will get signature disabled.
....
5. Paid option if somebody do not have merit.

These two suggestions are totally contradicting each other. What would be the use of the ban for not earning Merits in 120 days if a user can have the ban lifted by paying for it? It wouldn't reduce any spam in that way, since we all know how much money those spammers earn by spitting out crap all over the forum, and it wouldn't be a hurdle for them to get their signature bans lifted by paying a small amount.

It is on the same line of Copper Membership. User promoting their own business might will require this membership to promote their business themselves.
I do not think spammer will buy Membership.
Important thing is that  any membership did not give any right to spamming, so they can still be banned, or their signature can still be stripped if they found spamming.
956  Other / Meta / Re: Happy birthday, the merit system! on: January 24, 2019, 01:30:07 PM
Nice, for this one year I manged to rank up twice  Grin

Because I rank up thrice in a year.

957  Economy / Lending / Re: Experiment... on: January 24, 2019, 12:52:31 PM
Trust you? No one.
If you have valid collateral then you can take loan from lending section. Otherwise try to sell everything you have and raise .3 BTC to trust yourself for 5% weekly profit.

ankit10, please update your Signature & Avatar if you wish to remain in the Campaign, I accepted you yesterday.

Sorry. I already updated

Just curious, When did Hhampuz  asked you update the signature? It was asked for ankit10.

960  Other / Meta / Re: Banned account. on: January 24, 2019, 07:38:43 AM
Banned accounts have no signatures. OP has an active one thus it's not banned.

Perhaps he has something else in mind, another account or it's just a temp ban. Grin

Look same to me,  but that account did not posted anything for last 10-12 days.
Are you sure that signature is not removed in temp ban.

Just wondering if someone is trolling with random account.
