It's been a rough day hodling. I spent all those other days not hodling through half the rises and finally now that I hodl it does this.

If sometimes you spend days "not hodling", you aren't a hodler.

Quit trying to predict the short term fluctuations, it's bad for your wallet.dat.

3 months old, but LOL at the comments.  Good job making fun of the $150/btc buyer 2 months before it hit $1240 Tongue.

I've 0 of any scamcoin (except for Bitcoin, obviously), but Dogecoin is absolutely hilarious and you would be a fool to deny it. Cheesy

I agree it's halarious.  Warming my feet wasn't the only reason I kicked my GPU on.

r/bitcoin – 89,324 readers; 750 users here now

r/litecoin – 15,588; ~80

r/dogecoin – 15,085; 655

How funny is that? 2014 will clearly be the year of the Shiba Inu. Look at all the hype it's generat-err digging.

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

And look at my wallet!  Over 6k coins in a few days with a single GPU.  How could they not be valuable! Roll Eyes
946  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hey guys! Guess what! Feb 2014... on: December 25, 2013, 06:51:38 AM
First of all, debt is deflationary.  Principle plus interest must be repaid, so every new debt sucks money out of the future economy.  This is what keeps inflation in check.

Second, the interest is around $0.07 of every dollar the government spends, so we are far from "can't even pay the interest".  Bullshit hyperbole like this is how they divide and conquer us.

That said, the Federal Reserve system is a fucking fraud that devalues the labor of the common man for the benefit of the owners of a private corporation.  It's just that, unfortunately, the system is better thought out and less fragile than you hope.  Only a revolution can free us at this point.  Hopefully Bitcoin helps to make a peaceful one possible, but I very much doubt those who currently hold power will give it up without trying violence first.
947  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bought at top, sold at the bottom :-( (?) on: December 25, 2013, 06:39:54 AM

Did anybody you know bought at top and sold at the bottom? How many % of the new adopters are they, 20%, why are the people so stupid and impulsive?

I don't get it either...seems like it would be smart to put a tight stop on any purchase. If you buy at 250 and it drops 5% on you, then get out and you can always buy back in later.  Some people say it's smarter to watch it go down to 65 and lose 75% of your money but I would disagree with that opinion and "strategy".

Good luck with a "tight stop" in this market.  If the volatility doesn't shake you out of a good position, this market moves so quick you can expect between 5 and 40% slippage between your stop price and execution price.
948  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: December 23, 2013, 11:17:54 PM
What's going on right now?  I have a lot of fiat on the sidelines that I cannot decide when to put it.  I would like to buy in at or below 570 as I sold off a lot at that point hoping to average down

The market is shaking out the new buyers who don't understand bitcoin and are just looking for fiat profits.
949  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish Bitfinex Sentiment Index almost 1:2 on: December 23, 2013, 09:09:16 AM
Has anybody seen that.

I haven't seen that seen I started trading in bitfinex?
Not even the day it hit 400 dollars per bitcoin. I actually made a small trade at 388$(buy).
Is it time to dump hard?

Yes, I see this too but it is in direct contrast to the average loan rates, which have  gone to the moon. A month ago they were at an average of 50-70%. Now they are at an average of 250-500% which is extremely bullish.

There are more shorts now, but not nearly as many as leveraged longs.
In bitfinex you can short with dollars and leverage up to 4:1.
So you can take a loan and short.
Am I wrong?

Well, I could be wrong and please someone correct me if I am, but I thought if you borrowed fiat you had to leverage long and to leverage short you had to borrow BTC - own them to sell them first, then buy them back later.

Is this not correct?  Otherwise if you could go long or short with fiat or BTC, then BTC interest rates wouldn't be 1/5 of the fiat loan interest rates.

Which is why it doesn't make sense with $10 million dollars of fiat loans and only 13k BTC on loan, why the sentiment could be so bearish. Those stats seem to suggest the exact opposite.

If you have the bitcoin already, you can take a "short position" and it will not borrow anything unless you sell more than your btc margin.  The indicator being bearish with only 3.6k (I'm not sure where you are getting 13k, but I see 3.6) btc lent out indicates that much of the bearish sentiment is coming from btc holders rather than people who keep their margin in USD and would need to borrow.

Everything is possible nowadays Cheesy

True ! Tongue

No.  It is not possible to create or destroy energy.  It is not possible to survive naked in space.  It is not possible for one person to eat the entire world's supply of chocolate.

...

And apparently, it's not possible to read the bitcoin forums without drowning in hyperbole.
951  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are at "THE" ATH on: December 22, 2013, 09:41:54 PM
Honest question, please answer to the best of your knowledge OP:

With which volume was this amway thing (never heard of it, probably an American thing) trading at its peak?

From my memory, i think Amway at its peak was one of the largest if not the largest privately held company in the US. its turnover was well into the billions.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amway

In 2012, their annual revenue was $11.3B.

Well it didnt happen and now its going down for Wave 5

Wait, how do you know what will happen tomorrow?  You must be rich!
953  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why don't you trade? on: December 22, 2013, 08:53:31 PM
Too big a risk in a socialist utopia.

LOL

I'm not sure you know what socialist means.  Also, that utopia literally means "no place".
954  Economy / Speculation / Re: If it can break 750 on mt gox on dec 23rd... on: December 22, 2013, 07:47:47 PM
The chart reminds me of the way a ball bounces down stairs. Absent news good enough to counter the btcchina shutdown, why it is reasonable to expect 750 tomorrow?

He's not suggesting it will happen. He is suggesting what may happen next if it does happen.

Shouldn't VPN, and all the other anonymity layers provide enough protection for them from LE ?  Also seems to me International LE is spending too much time on shutting down online marketplaces when there are larger problems out there.

Anyways i don't think this will have much impact as it doesn't seem to be a complete shutdown, it's just one of the moderators that got arrested.

The CIA runs much of the top tiers of the drug business.  They don't like the idea of losing control of it.
