So here is my 2 cents.
It is unusal but I would really do some marketing on the fact that datacoin is today the only way for anyone to give a message to the world such as this message would be maintained undefintely and can't be removed. It would survive beyond yourselfs. If you think about it twice , there are no really such services, and anything you may put online always disappear for several reasons : fees not paid, legal seized, server down, company hosting takeover, use conditions changed, or whatever. Here the coin objective guarantees you gonna allways have nodes maintaining it.
That message could be an idea, a poem, anything of interest to others and it is going to be written in the stone. If it happens taht datacoin show its own sustainability, it would provide a nice added value in this orientation.

Now Datacoin is at the stage where difficulty is so high that it is hard to solomine even with fast processors. Datacoin is not scrypt-based coin, it is XPM-based, so there are difficulties to create such pool (see http://www.reddit.com/r/primecoin/comments/1q42gz/primecoin_mining_pool_software/ ) Datacoin needs developer for pool (or someone from XPM team to open another pool for DTC even without opening sources to community). It will be rewarded of course (I can donate maybe 1-2K datacoins, and other miners can do thesame), and it needs to be done quickly. I'll bump this post several times - Datacoin needs to grow!  |

When I have more time, I'll definitely be able to help out. I already told MessyCoin that if he won the logo contest I would fancy-up his logos and designs.
As someone who has spent most of his adult life in marketing, I am more than certain I will be able to help out on that side of things, as well as consulting as to what will/won't make sense for pushing the coin. I also have expertise in business writing, which will be important in regards to promotions, polishing statements, and dealing with exchanges etc.

good to hear that storage function works well now coin price should rise - not for pump'n'dump scheme, but for making storage prices reasonable. 1MB costs 50 DataCoins, so 50 DataCoins shouldn't be very cheap to avoid blockchain spamming in future (after releasing 'store big file' functionality) |

hi, I have created a fork of the datacoin github to https://github.com/King-of-Alravia/datacoin and patched the original source code for compiling under windows and QT5. I added "store\receive" data to\from blockchain to block explorer! click 'Get or add data' link at the bottom of block explorer or follow direct link http://ec2-50-112-43-170.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com/perl/data.plI limited data size to 1KB to avoid spamming network with messages like 'test test test', also sent 50 DTC to block explorer wallet, it will be enough for 1000 test transactions. Feel free to check it, but don't sent more than 1-2 messages |
