A simple search about Batex Exchange leads me to ASJ Forex Global Limited which is a company that SEC advised the public to be very careful with.

983  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what will happen after 21 million bitcoins are mined? (in layman's terms) on: September 17, 2022, 09:18:00 AM
Miners will earn from the transaction fees as the block reward goes 0 somewhere near 2140.

When Bitcoin reaches its maximum supply cap, will miners stop operating? Most probably NO, since the system is designed so that the miners stay in the game. When there are more miners, the profit drops, driving more people away. And when there are less miners, profit increases, luring more miners again, repeating the same cycle.

- How will Bitcoin survive after all 21M coins have been mined?
- What happens when all bitcoins are mined?

985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Merge Success on: September 17, 2022, 05:44:40 AM
There is a similar thread[1] regarding these, but the answer all boils down to the same argument where bitcoin and ethereum have different use cases, market capitalization, adoption, popularity, security etc..

Regardless whether ETH takes over bitcoin for some reason -- I am still holding/trading both anyways, so it doesn't matter. Plus, both of which could give you the technical know-how that might be useful in the long run.

I just came back to this forum after couple of months and i see my suggestion has been incorporated!!!
For your information, its @PowerGlove who made your suggestion possible and he credited your thread in his post.

ps: one more thing. CAn you make the (OP) in bold?
There's a variety of design suggested by other members too, but for some reason the admin chose Style B which isn't an issue though. After all, it's an upgrade for God knows how many years.

pps: any bitcoins as reward for this suggestion? Grin Grin GrinTongue
i doubt, but perhaps the reward would be the honor that sparks an idea for other members to implement.
987  Economy / Economics / Re: $3 billion dollar company Patagonia donated by founder to fight climate change on: September 17, 2022, 03:34:25 AM
I am pretty sure that this could increase demand for Patagonia brands. However, even while purchasing from them could help better the environment, we should also remember that given the way their brands encourage protecting the environment by means of recycling, you only need to buy things when you really need them. I mean that's also another way to reducing product waste that's align to their cause  Cheesy

But yeah, hoping that every capitalist is just as pure as Yvon when donating for a cause like this one.
988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IP Law NFT on: September 17, 2022, 12:49:34 AM
You can produce your own masterpiece or NFT that is inspired by the works of other people, but you shouldn't outright duplicate someone else's artwork, as previous members have noted. By this, I mean that you are drawing inspiration for your concept or idea from a variety of sources and artists who you feel fit your style.

Because you can't actually build stuff out of nothing, it's similar to a puzzle where you study the background and the method involved and then come up with something on your own. For instance, consider Vincent Van Gogh's artwork, which was influenced by Japanese prints[1].

I personally keep a library of images of women in various poses that I always use as a reference when making splash arts. Don't be afraid to use platforms like Artstation, Pinterest, and Behance to get an inspiration from multiple artists as well.

989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Clarity on KYC verification & online gambling. on: September 16, 2022, 03:05:35 PM
There are few casino in this list[1] that do not require their user to undergo KYC, so your concern about gambling anonymously is pretty much doable, perhaps at a certain amount of time, and unless they deemed it necessarry.

Regardless of whether bitcoin or crypto in general promotes pseudo-anonymity or privacy, jackpot winner will sometimes, if not always surrender their ID anyways just to get their money, and most of the time, they do not give a damn.

990  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save as food inflation jumps more than 11% in a year on: September 16, 2022, 12:19:23 PM
I don't know if this applies to everyone especially in other countries but I normally prepare my meals over the course of the week in to reduce my food expenses.

I have an active fitness lifestyle so my diet consists of full, high-protein meals like eggs, chicken breast, and pork tenderloin. With a little creativity, you can bring good and healthy food to the table without spending a fortune. Probably, you would likely spend $6–10 on food preparation for the entire day.

Buying whole foods that are very filling, like sweet potatoes, is another pro tip. Not only is this a healthier choice, but it may also enable you to eat less throughout the day. Additionally, we have a wetmarket where food supplies are much less expensive than in a supermarket.

Again this is pretty much a workaround from a 3rd world country, the food prices and the availability of the products in other countries is highly likely different.
991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A website that shows important dates of Bitcoin as a calendar on: September 15, 2022, 01:25:52 PM
This is the first post on bitcointalk.org

Welcome to the new Bitcoin forum!
The first post/thread in bitcointalk is satoshi testing the forum -- not this official welcome message. You can see it on the url with topic=XXXXX

Topic 3 was deleted years ago, and it is unknown what happened to it. Topics 1 and 2 were satoshi doing some tests, and topic 4 was some administrative notes left by satoshi.

See below for PDFs of the first topics:

As an FYI, there are links to the above topics in the link you referenced.

992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A website that shows important dates of Bitcoin as a calendar on: September 15, 2022, 09:06:23 AM
Interesting! However, they forgot to include the date when Satoshi Nakamoto introduced bitcointalk.org. It's empty on November 22.

I mean, isn't bitcointalk one of the most significant events in the history of bitcoin? For that, we even held a 10-year anniversary art contest  Cheesy
993  Economy / Economics / Re: "Be your own Bank with Bitcoin" - A reminder why this is so important! on: September 15, 2022, 06:13:13 AM
I think that is related to this viral video in social media posted by @yazher - Well! Bitcoin doesn't have this problem

But again, using the same argument, people still needs to convert bitcoin into their local currency in which they will withdraw thru banks particularly if an establishment does not accept bitcoin and the country does not recognize bitcoin as legal tender.
994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else feeling let down by crypto Play to Earn gaming sector ? on: September 15, 2022, 05:51:42 AM
Accept that nearly none of the NFT games that are currently in existence will ever again prioritize the printing of money without its players putting in the time and effort necessary to be a competitive player. You see, especially in Axie Infinity, all the rewards goes to the top players on the leaderboard where there is a huge sum, if not a decent amount of money to get.

This means that the game does not anymore distribute the asset carelessly that would repeat the same mistake back in its early days, because so far that's the only solution to consider for them to survive.
995  Economy / Economics / Re: Irish Government Pays Artists & Musicians $330 ‘Basic Income’ Allowance on: September 15, 2022, 04:41:45 AM
Meanwhile, in our country, when the government talks about giving you a project-based commissions related to visual arts(e.g., mural painting, storybooks designing) they either release your payment months after the job is finished or they underpay you so much that even two months' worth of rent can't cover.

If only most countries were like this, I doubt there would still be artists who suffered from inequity  Cry
996  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack.fun | 0.28% House edge | Live tables | Baccarat |Slots| InstantWithraw on: September 14, 2022, 11:11:05 AM
I checked their KYC policy and they require anyone to complete it first before doing any withdrawals...
As far as I know, they do not require their user(average joe) to undergo the KYC process before they are able to withdraw their money unless they have implemented it after when the signature campaign ended. Plus, what I only know is the manual verification of withdrawals on the admin side when a player do not have an initial deposit -- and that's without KYC.
997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why isnt there a BTC browser wallet like Metamask on: September 14, 2022, 10:51:12 AM
There are few that exists BUT I strongly advise against using them because they really serve no purpose while putting your bitcoin at risk for the sake of convenience(really?)

I just don't know if their claim that they support bitcoin in their wallet is true since Metamask, a popular ERC-20 token wallet, can also store bitcoin but only in a wrapped version (wBTC)
998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to choose an online casino? on: September 14, 2022, 02:31:44 AM
Check out this thread: How to choose a casino?
And this for the list of bonuses you can get when playing on a specific casino: Loyalty Bonuses & Promotions on Crypto Casinos and Sportsbooks

Almost all of the casino here offer slot games, so I don't think there will be some sort of recommendations here. Just pick based on your preferences.
999  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Wasabi Wallet V2.0 Pinoy Discussion on: September 14, 2022, 02:02:55 AM
Usually less than a dollar lang yung fee kapag hindi busy yung mempool (waiting room for the transactions). As for the coinjoin, alam ko may additional fee, pero hindi ako sure kung included na siya sa specified tx fee nung nagsend ka ng bitcoin to somewhere else.

Coinjoining coins with a value above 0.01 BTC costs 0.3% as a coordinator fee + mining fees. Inputs of 0.01 BTC or below don't pay coordinator fees, nor remixes, even after one transaction. Thus, a payment made with coinjoined funds allows the sender and the recipient to remix their coins without paying any coordinator fees.

1000  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is Coin Flashing and Its Real use case on: September 13, 2022, 08:56:23 AM
Looks like it has something to do with sending "fake" bitcoin transaction onto the network thru bitcoin forks which I don't know if that's possible.
Quote
Flash BTC is a software designed to enable you to send fake Bitcoin from any wallet address to another wallet address on the blockchain network (Coinbase, Binance, Blockchain, etc.) for free, this is a Bitcoin fork that enables a Bitcoin transaction to be generated on the Bitcoin network
Quote
coming to BTC flash I never heard of it as a hard fork atleast
