981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can everyone in the world have bitcoin. on: August 20, 2023, 04:29:37 PM
Theoretically, anyone in the world can own bitcoin, this is everyone's right, of course, but in practice there are many factors that affect the application of this matter realistically.

For example, there are many poor countries in the world that do not have electricity or the Internet, or that it exists, but it is very bad. People in these countries are very poor and do not find anything to eat, let alone own bitcoin.
Second: There are many people even in the developed world who have not heard of Bitcoin, and even if they hear about it, they do not believe in it and are afraid of owning it because they do not know the true value of Bitcoin and believe the lies of governments about Bitcoin.

So practically there are large enough amounts of bitcoin for all those who believe in privacy and decentralization and that bitcoin is a store of value.
982  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Local peer to peer should be allow on: August 20, 2023, 04:34:46 AM
There are some options for buying bitcoins, but they are limited due to the fact that governments monitor these transactions, so I found the best way to buy and sell bitcoins away from central exchanges and KYC is P2P.

In my country, there are still no laws prohibiting bitcoin, but despite that, and in anticipation of any change from the government, I always use P2P through a reliable local broker. There are brokers spread in every country, so you must find one in your country.

They charge about 1-2% on every dollar-bitcoin exchange or vice versa.
983  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Prosecution to use Caroline Ellison notes as evidence against SBF on: August 19, 2023, 11:41:26 AM
Do you get internet in that prison? This is a low-cost vacation, not a prison.
If you own a corrupt exchange like FTX and a lot of money to bribe politicians and finance elections, you will surely have internet in prison and all the luxuries you want to have, a simple bribe to corrupt politicians and everything is solved.

It is a shame that the case has taken so long Despite the clear evidence and the clear implication of Sam Bankman-Fried on all counts against him, it is a shame to see such things in the country that describes itself as the largest free democracy in the world.
984  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big surprise in mid-August - Do not panic!!! on: August 19, 2023, 09:30:11 AM
It was reported that SpaceX bitcoin holdings which amounts to $373 million according to WSJ has been sold. This came after it was reported that WSJ discovered documents of SpaceX financial records. But this doesn’t add any substantial evidence because they didn’t report any information whatsoever as to when the sale was done and Musk himself didn’t disclose anything even after this news broke out. So we could simply say it is just  speculation by People.
I agree with you, I also do not think that the reason for the decline is the sale of SpaceX holdings because as you mentioned, Musk himself did not reveal anything after the spread of this news. In addition, it is unlikely that Musk would sell his Bitcoin holdings at a price lower than the purchase price, this is far from businessman thinking.

There may be more than one reason for this sudden decline, including, for example, the interest rate hike in the United States of America, as well as the news of huge sales and long liquidations in many exchanges such as Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, and others.

In any case, yes, there is no need to panic, because this is not the first time, and it is certain that Bitcoin will return to its position soon.
985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin does not provide full anonymity on: August 19, 2023, 09:14:13 AM
Yes, absolute anonymity is not an inherent aspect of the Bitcoin protocol, Bitcoin is transparent because all transactions can be traced and its many branches can be traced from the first day of the birth of the wallet, but all that can be known is the addresses only without knowing the true identity of the owner of the address.

The main problem lies in centralized third-party services that force users to submit to KYC, AML standards and force their users to apply them by providing official documents, if you use these centralized services once, this will lead to linking between your bitcoin addresses and your identity, and here privacy is eliminated in a way complete.
986  Economy / Economics / Re: Running faucet business in 2023 still possible? on: August 18, 2023, 08:52:34 PM
I guess faucets are not that profitable anymore, not many people are interested in them now and it's hard to find enough users who are interested in faucets so that they can get enough advertising revenue to keep the faucets alive.

There was a golden period for faucets but these days it is gone, now there is a lot of work and time wasted for the sake of a little frivolous profit that is not worth it. I worked on faucets for a long time when I started but gave it up a long time ago.

989  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKpays.com offers Exchange Service for PayPal, Payoneer, Visa/Mastercard, Wise on: August 18, 2023, 03:49:49 PM

For example: A wire transfer may require receiver ID proof to show to Bank or processor banking partner, aren't your data protected with the bank or banking partner processor? If you think so then I think you didn't provided your identification information to the bank.

The policy made to simplify the service not to complicated discussion. Thanks for your opinions.
No, it is not protected!! I believe that my data in the bank is not protected. It is true that, as you say, no one can view it, but when necessary, this data is given to any government employee, so it cannot be said that it is protected.
The concept of protection differs between centralized and decentralized services. Do not forget that you are in the Bitcoin forum, which believes in decentralization and privacy in the first place and gives it the utmost importance, so you see that most of the questions revolve around these points.

The policy made to simplify the service not to complicated discussion. Thanks for your opinions.
Yes, the policy made to simplify the understanding of the service, but you should not be disturbed by the discussion. Agreeing to the terms of service without reading and discussing them is what leads to the emergence of problems and disputes later.

However, if you are bothered by the discussion, you can simply lock the thread.
990  Economy / Exchanges / Re: unconfirmed bitcoin transaction on: August 18, 2023, 03:22:08 AM
Forum users answer questions with good intentions because it's their way to help. When they're being ignored or aren't appreciated there isn't excuses for it.

If it isn't for merits what else's behind it? His profile website's Jambler clone so it's possible he wanted it for promotion. He'll need merits before he's allowed to wear avatar or sig code.

What's wrong with btcchamp88. Some newbies behave so strange.

If that is the case, then i must say that he is trying to create such threads in order to gain merits from the community. Another trick used by the newbies these days  Sad

The people here are willing to help and solve the queries of the newbies or anyone, but if you do not face any such probelm regarding bitcoin wallet or bitcoin transcation, it is morally unethicial to post such questions (for other purposes) when you know that everyone will jump in and try to guide you.
Yes it is clear that the OP wants to write any topic to get some merit and activity in the forum, it's been about 6 days since the topic was written and members asked him some information to help but he hasn't provided any response to the thread he started yet.

These disgraceful actions will lead to a negative result, as he will lose the community's trust instead of upgrading his account.
991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs. the Dollar (Traditional Money vs. Digital Innovation) on: August 17, 2023, 08:12:08 PM
Although the US dollar (USD) and Bitcoin (BTC) are opposite in all characteristics where the dollar is centralized and bitcoin is decentralized and bitcoin maintains privacy while the dollar does not, they are actually two separate and interdependent forces despite being opposite.

Determining the price of bitcoin is directly related to the dollar, so it is natural to see a decline in the value of bitcoin when the strength of the dollar rises, as they are opposite, while if there are factors affecting the price of the dollar negatively, this will reflect positively on the price of bitcoin, although this rise could be imaginary due to inflation. And the dollar lost some of its purchasing power.

This mechanism can be understood through the example of gold because gold and the dollar are also interrelated but opposite, for example when the value of gold rises, this rise is in fact a result of inflation and the dollar losing some of its value and purchasing power while the real value of gold is fixed.
992  Other / Meta / Re: Forum being abuse? on: August 17, 2023, 06:54:33 PM
It may be a coincidence that the problem is repeated twice with the same user, and this may be a kind of fraud that he takes as a profession. We cannot judge until we hear the justification of the accused member.

Although from the first impression I think that it is difficult to repeat the same problem with the same player twice!! This is somewhat difficult to happen because the question that will come to everyone's mind is why these problems occur only with this member? Especially when the casino is reliable and has a good reputation, this makes such charges hard to believe.

Such things harm the reputation of the forum as well as the reputation of Crypto, especially since governments want to catch anything suspicious to discredit Crypto.
993  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKpays.com offers Exchange Service for PayPal, Payoneer, Visa/Mastercard, Wise on: August 17, 2023, 06:15:53 PM
According to the AML/KYC Policy for OKpays.com:
Quote
5.3. OKpays.com reserves the right to verify a user’s identity on an ongoing basis, especially if their identification information has changed or their activity seems unusual or suspicious. The company may also request up-to-date documents from users, even if they have been authenticated in the past.
This item would not be recommended by many users because firstly the right to verify the identity of the user continuously and secondly that you can simply freeze the account if you consider the activity unusual or suspicious? What criteria do you use to determine if user activity is unusual or suspicious?

Quote
5.4. User identification information will be collected, stored, shared, and protected strictly in accordance with OKpays.com’s Privacy Policy and related rules.
Well I don't see this as appropriate at all, "User identification information will be collected, stored, shared, and protected strictly"? How do you share and protect it at the same time???!!! Who will this information be shared with?

995  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PayPal Just Announced Plans to Launch a USD Stablecoin - Thoughts? on: August 16, 2023, 04:05:47 PM
The effect that I think this move from PayPal will have is the trend towards more centralization and government control, also the elimination of privacy, that's what I think.

Centralized stablecoin is worse than fiat if you didn't know, it's more like CBDC than cryptocurrency. So you don't have to get too excited about such big news.

Yes, Paypal is a very old and great name in the field of online payment services around the world, and this step will bring more users, but they will not be happy anyway due to their use of a central Stablecoin and the application of KYC, AML restrictions.
996  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are stable coins free from SEC ? on: August 16, 2023, 11:13:39 AM
Not all stablecoins are safe but of course stablecoins that are accepted by the US government and the SEC will remain safe as they promote centralization and government control.

Recently PayPal launched its own stablecoin and it has a lot of support from the US government because PayPal is fully subject to US regulatory laws regarding KYC, AML is fully dollar backed of course this will enhance the dominance of the dollar around the world thanks to the widespread services of PayPal around the world.

Control is what the United States seeks, and it does not matter if this happens through the paper dollar or the digital dollar.
997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Evolution of Bitcoin: From Digital Cash to Global Store of Value on: August 16, 2023, 09:38:27 AM
I am also inclined to the view that Bitcoin today represents a store of value more than a means of payment, of course, due to the well-known problems, especially the problem of scalability, which impedes the spread of transactions worldwide due to the limited possibility of accommodating this large amount of transactions upon global adoption.

It is difficult for Bitcoin to become a global currency that can be used for small and fast daily transactions unless the problems of scalability, network congestion and high fees are solved, so I see the future of Bitcoin more as a store of value and a means of hedging.

UTXO
ADDRESS
WALLET

1000  Economy / Reputation / Re: What's wrong with btcchamp88. Some newbies behave so strange. on: August 15, 2023, 04:27:37 PM
This behavior has become very common in the forum. This is normal because the forum is the largest and oldest community of Bitcoin and Crypto, and everyone is interested in promoting their services in the most important forum.

Many newbie accounts are registered on the forum with the aim of promoting a specific service later. Personally, I do not see a problem if the account adheres to the rules of the forum and tries to gain the trust of the community in a legal and honorable way. The problem lies in those scammers who are only interested in spreading any nonsense to reach their goal in illegal ways. These should be reported immediately and the forum cleaned of them.
