The lower the firmware that the unit has to run the longer it will take to autotune. When I ran it on mine hoping for a firmware with logic to declock when close to the thermal threshold for my unit I was suprized how long it took. Either let it run or start lower like 808 and work up until it throttles at a 1K test. It will seemingly be faster to use autotune though as it tests for a shorter time and I am unsure how it decides what firmware to actually use but did settle on the one for me that actually matched my testing by hand.
In my case, the firmware takes exactly 3 minutes and 20 seconds to load, and then testing must be done outside of each firmware load, progressing upward until there are errors, and then backing back down.

The bitcoind command for signing a message would be:
bitcoind signmessage 1M4LFZyW7FTRAKXS1DHKfgzkNFeCKSk6vM 'I am vasgolova'

I don't know how you do it with Bitcoin-Qt.
The Bitcoin-QT Noob's guide to signing a message:

1. Choose the address to send a signature from, and then click "Sign Message":

2. Type a message into the large white box area, don't make it too complicated, and then click "Sign Message":

3. Enter the wallet passphrase (If your wallet is encrypted, which it should be), and then click "OK":

4. Use the "Copy to clipboard" button to copy the signature to the clipboard. Be sure to record both the signature and the EXACT message somewhere safe, because both parts (as well as the bitcoin address) are needed to verify a message:

Hope this helps.

985  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 100% proof pirate runs a ponzi (thought experiment) on: July 05, 2012, 08:08:23 PM
Actually, I wonder if Pirate could pay out all balances of his own accord simultaneously, and request that they all be paid back in as soon as possible so that the operation isn't affected too much.

Like a boss, brosef.
987  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 100% proof pirate runs a ponzi (thought experiment) on: July 05, 2012, 07:30:20 PM
I don't understand where is the 100% proof?
Floating around in the aether somewhere... possibly 100% proof AND 100% lie, given Schrodinger's cat!
988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Business Primer on the Bitcoin Ecosystem - Erik Voorhees on: July 05, 2012, 06:56:42 PM
A Bitcoin payment can be reversed?? Might want to let the devs know.
Yes, using the 51% attack.

LOL.  care to give us some examples?
Obtain 51%
Roll back the tx log.

What he is saying is correct, but like evoorhees said above, it's like saying that cash is reversible because thieves could break in and steal it. Obtuse.

Yes, using the 51% attack.

Dude, come on.

Reading through the other thread, I doubt mcorlett understands the requirements, and limitations, of the 51% attack.
I'm sure he does, he's just being obtuse and Luke-Jr-ish.

No I don't go & read every thread about every thing that I buy on GLBSE, I will now if you get away with this but it's too late in this case anyway.

991  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 13 ATI 5870s with fans and shrouds removed on: July 05, 2012, 06:44:55 PM
Coins received, will ship today.

7 cards remaining, would rather sell as many as possible at once, will take $125 each firm including shipping. Might be a little extra shipping if any of you Canuckistanians want in. Grin
992  Other / Off-topic / Re: Diablo Mining Company will never buy Butterfly Labs hardware on: July 05, 2012, 06:41:42 PM
I never knew it was him that wrote DiabloMiner, I respect that program very much as it gives the best GPU mining performance. He obviously has skills, maybe he can design own hardware ?

Since when a software programmer can design hardware?

Does Microsoft make best computers in the world?
Does Microsoft make the best software in the world?

Grin I just had to, sorry.
993  Economy / Securities / Re: BS&T -- Are you staying or leaving? on: July 05, 2012, 06:29:22 PM
I'll tell you one thing for sure, and that is that all the noisy assholes that have been bashing pirate have been pushing me closer to investing, just out of spite for their windy and non-logical posts. I'm sure I'm not the only one that's feeling this way, so be careful that you don't overdo it and get the opposite effect to what you are are trying to achieve, capisce?
994  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 100% proof pirate runs a ponzi on: July 05, 2012, 04:43:10 PM

Circumstance:
-  resembles
- there is no actual credible evidence

*circumstantial evidence

Nothing to see here, move on.

996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could bitcoin eventually crack SHA256? on: July 05, 2012, 03:53:37 PM
No the concern is still valid.

Computer power will continue to double every year or two. The exponential effect will catch up with almost any algorithm much sooner than we expect.
Not valid, if you only consider Moore's law. Even with an exponential increase in hashing speeds, it is still unbreakable for many centuries and beyond. The worry is whether a protocol flaw can be found to reduce the amount of calculations needed to accelerate hashing speeds.
997  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2x Jalpeno order - selling my place in line - order #1776 on: July 05, 2012, 03:50:42 PM

lol

Should I specify a minimum bid increment of $1? Grin
998  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Help build a better Bitcoin logo! on: July 05, 2012, 03:34:23 PM
I like that, it looks great, only thing I see is that the 'b' in the lower 2 color graphic doesn't have the same tail as the one above it.

Also, a brand must be complete. A logo is great to have, but a complete brand will include several logos for different print and screen applications, favicons that are clear and easy to distinguish, web-safe palettes for website use, a style handbook, and other supporting material and documentation.
999  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 2x Jalpeno order - selling my place in line - order #1776 --- SOLD on: July 05, 2012, 03:28:34 PM
SOLD

Unfortunately due to extenuating circumstances, I need to get out of this order. Therefore, my place in line is for sale to the highest bidder.

According to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=89685.0 I am fairly close to the beginning of the line, so make an offer based on that.

Starting bid is the cost for 2x Jalapeno direct from BFL - $312 with shipping. Bidding ends at 12:00:00 Noon Eastern Time on Saturday the 7th of July 2012. Payable in BTC at market rate, Dwolla, or MtGox codes. You are responsible for any additional shipping that BFL may charge if you are located somewhere that costs more for them to ship to.
