Hello SLok, nice to hear from you again my little asshamster friend Wink

I just now realized that it's your posting where rooKiED (of course one of my trillion fake identities) replied to. You wrote: "So, what month are we in? Come back complaining December maybe, although they already updated to maybe first week of December for first shipping.".

So ... what month are we in?  Grin Grin Grin

I was pleasantly surprised to see some critical posts on forums.butterflylabs.com. Which made me think: Josh has been put on a leash (again) - and the days of censorship are over.

Unfortunately it seems they are still deleting posts. Just not every critical post. I assume it's because there are simply to many of them - and they don't dare to delete them all (-> too many people would complain about censorship).

This one is gone by now. Question for BFL/Josh/Inaba: What was so bad about it that it had to be deleted?

BFL ... No-questions-asked lifetime warranty.

When I was a kid I always found it amazing how the Americans could give "lifetime warranties" for their marvellous products like teflon pans or Dyson vacuum cleaners. "Wow - a 80 year guarantee!!".

Until I realized that it's only for the lifetime of the product. And that a new version of that product can come within a couple of month.

For me this was very disillusioning.

Must have been 48 hours in Bitcoin time.

In BFL time it would be April 2013 Wink

In Austria we call this time of the year, around Christmas, "die stade Zeit" (the quiet time). We meet family and friends, spend some quality time together.

Scanning through the forums it seems Inaba posts 3x as much as usual. Which made me think: Does he have no one to talk to in real life?
986  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Archive] BFL trolling museum on: December 25, 2012, 04:15:56 PM
You didn't even bother to address CoinHoarders question. 15 lines of jabbering and insults and hot air. Amazing for a PR guy. Every other company would have fired you weeks ago.

I don't get that you guys were supposed to start shipping in October, but you're just now moving into an office space that is big enough for assembly/shipping/sales in late December... and you haven't even completed construction.

I'm sorry Inaba, but that just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I'm not saying you're scamming anybody, but at the very least your business is ran very poorly from the outside looking in.

Yes, that's right.  You and all the other speculators don't get it because it's immaterial.  People like PG speculate with nothing but conjecture and then pronounce it as doctrine and try to convince everyone that this is the way it is.  What you, PG, PL etc... fail to understand is that BFL is not beholden to answering stupid, idiotic questions at every turn.  We are not beholden to individuals asking for information that has absolutely no bearing on anything even vaguely related to our products.  There is a long string of events that has lead us to where we are now and every single one of them has not been made public.  Why you and others think that we should make every single facet of our business public knowledge is beyond incredulous.  It's positively insane.

You criticize us for not providing information, estimates, documents and disclosure.  So we provide that. Then you criticize us when what we've told you turns out to be different in the end because, gasp things change.  Situations change. Technology changes.  Information changes.

What I find most telling, however, is the fact that the most vocal critics are the ones who have never accomplished anything in life.  They are on a forum, bitching about how bad BFL is... that is the extent of their contribution to the process.  They have never done anything like what we are doing, they will never do anything like what we are doing, but they have the temerity to bitch and whine.  So, once again, it begs the question:  If you can do better; if you think BFL does it so poorly... why aren't you doing it?  Why aren't you showing us how it's done?  Why aren't you raking in the dough with your business prowess?  Why... are you on a forum, verbally sparring with someone like me?  If BFL is so crappy, why does it dwarf all other vendors, combined several times over?  Yes, let me hear your answers, PG, CreativeX, Syke, Frizz, et al.  Let me hear why you choose not be successful and instead spend your time getting verbally abused by me instead?

LOL!! I like the Dutch and their sense of humour.

Maybe this video is still funny when it's January February March April and we still wait for BFL ASICs.
988  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fiscal Cliff Countdown Clock on: December 22, 2012, 10:44:28 PM
Maybe adding clock buffers would help?  Wink
989  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Trustworthy place to buy ASICS atm? on: December 22, 2012, 09:16:30 PM
That's like betting on every Color on the Roulette table. You'll loose anyway.
Except in this case, every color will win. The question is just which one will win first. Inclusive vs Exclusive. Your analogy is flawed.

No. Only red (Avalon) will win in this case. They will be the first ones. At the current, low difficulty, they will generate their owners a (small) fortune. The rest (BFL, bASIC) can be happy to achieve break even.
990  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Archive] BFL trolling museum on: December 20, 2012, 06:50:58 PM
Nobody qualifies for the word "transparency" in the current ASIC market, not even us.

+1

Note for some of your competitors: Lack of transparency is one thing - blatant lying another.
991  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Archive] BFL trolling museum on: December 20, 2012, 08:56:12 AM
No one said anyones delays make anyone elses better.

Talk to BFL & Inaba - they seem to think different.

Quote
Even more important would seem to be why is a render from a company that actually looks like a circuit board rather then shapes on MS paint not proof of a design or more of a design then the MS Paint version?

You doing it again: "Maybe we suck - but the others suck more".

As for BFL's renders: They just shows some PCB. I simply don't believe BFL anymore. They have blatantly lied to the community on purpose. The hardware gurus have proven it (clock buffers, bullet runs, redesigns, waiting for fab & all that crap).

Some people have opinions. They will differ from yours.

No problem with that. But I do have a problem with asshamsters / paid shills.

Disagreeing with a loudmouth online doesn't make someone an asshamster.

No. But having a BFL ad in the signature & "behaving" in a conform way to be eligible to have a chance to win a (non-existing!) product makes someone an asshamster.
992  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Archive] BFL trolling museum on: December 20, 2012, 08:10:39 AM
Serious question: Why is it ok for you to say that Tom's renders suck, but when I say that BFL's renders are better and more detailed than Tom's, which they are, I'm somehow sucking Inaba's dingaling and copying his posts cuz I wanna be just like him?

Serious answer: This is the (only!, thanks to DiabloD3) BFL thread. If you don't like Tom's renders, please post that in the bASIC thread.

As for "sucking Inaba's dingaling": It seems you brainwashed asshamsters don't even notice any more that you blindly copy Inabas rhetoric. I am seriously fed up with all those "OK we suck, but the others sucks more" statements:
"OK we are late, but the other teams are late too" (Inaba)
"Our competitors are facing worse challenges." (BFL AM Dave)
"BFL's renders suck - but Tom's renders suck more" (you)

Serious question: How do Avalon's or bASIC's delays make BFL's delays any better?

993  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are the BFL forums in f****** China? on: December 20, 2012, 07:52:58 AM
If you define censorship as removing trolling then yes.

It seems trolling is also defined by you by "deflating Inabas bloated ego". All superfastkyle did was correcting you. For that he got deleted.

By the way: 99% of all postings on forums@BFL are trolling - with zero value.
Here are the last activities:
Lab_Rat: "No problem, there are just too many possibilities to give an exact answer." (a reply to "ASIC's already out?")
Lab_Rat: "I hate CNN... Always have." (in: "SiliconAngle - CNN's 'Odd Screed Against Bitcoin'")
bce: "In addition to solar, it appears to also have a wind turbine (that white thing on the tower)!" (in: "Thursday We Move")
...

Hell, Frizz has posted most of the troll messages over here, ...

Yes, I'm the devil, I know Wink. And, as I've been told, it's only me that's responsible for BFLs bad reputation.
994  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are the BFL forums in f****** China? on: December 20, 2012, 01:38:02 AM
Censorship in the BFL forums. Yes or No?

Yes

See:

Another one bites the dust ... Wink

Thou shall not doubt the all-knowing Josh/Inaba, or stop him from spreading rubbish. Or you get deleted. Like this fella here:

A playstation 3?

... and it's gone: https://forums.butterflylabs.com/hardware-discussion/514-playstation-3-a.html#post7665

Remind me again what the topic of this thread is?  Oh... that's right, it's a question:  "Are the BFL forums in F****** China?"
The answer is "no".  It was answered pages ago.

Actually the answer was yes - there is censorship on the BFL forum. There are lots of examples. One is this here:

A hell of a lot better than Tom's render of his board. Ya, his was literally a giant green square with 16 little black squares.

Oh please god, no. Not again one of those "BFL sucks but the others suck too" statements. Inaba does this all the time. Do you asshamsters have to copy him all the time?

(for the record: Tom's render sucks indeed!)

Technical information: They have given technical information, beyond just "65nm @ 1GH/W".
Go on then - prove me wrong. Tell me some of those technical informations (and no - "it has a USB port" is no technical information).
I'm about to leave work, and that would require some time to dig them all up, but I'll get back to you. IIRC, they did release their die size, no?

I assume it will take you forever. But never mind - I had expected nothing different from you asshamsters ...

P.S.
It would be nice if BFL had this information all in none place. They do have a web page, no? Wink
997  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Archive] BFL trolling museum on: December 19, 2012, 09:17:38 PM
Damn I can't wait until Jan/Feb/Mar when someone has finally released an ASIC and all this crap goes away.

Me too!!! Cheesy

By the way ... did you mean 2013 or 2014?

P.S.
When are you going to visit BFL? Any dates yet?
998  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Archive] BFL trolling museum on: December 19, 2012, 09:06:56 PM
If Toyota had people like you dedicated to shitting all over their brand name, I'm sure their reputation would suffer as well.

You are too kind to me Smiley

IMHO it's not me that's responsible for BFLs crappy reputation - it's BFLs long history of deceiving the community, their deviation of specification vs. real product (their FPGAs performed a lot worse than planned), their constantly delayed shipping dates.

Quote
Concepts: They have released renderings of their chip and the heatsink.

Wow ... they have released a black box with a BFL logo on it. You call that a concept?
And a rendering of a chip? Really useful stuff! Let me guess how this looks like: A black, square thingy with lots of silver pins? Surely no other chip on this planet looks like that  Wink

Quote
Exact drawings: They have released photos of both their assembled board AND the case(s) they will be in.

They have released photos of a PCB. And they have released photos of some chips/ASICs. Month ago. The ASICs - as we all know, and even confirmed by BFL, don't exist as per today. So what do those photos tell you?  Right - all fake.

Does the atomic car exist only because there are some rumors and renderings?
Rumors? If Toyota claims to have developed an atomic car, revealed concepts at autoshows, reveals exact drawings and recreations, and lists pricing and technical information, can you still call it little more than a rumor?

If Toyota had the same crappy reputation as BFL I would strongly doubt they can develop an atomic car.

From the things you mentioned BFL has only revealed the pricing.
No concepts,  no exact drawings, no technical information (and no - "it's in 65nm" and "it's about about 1Watt/Gh" and "unicorn blood" is no exact technical information).

If you want to know how this information could look like please take a look here:

I am sure they don't exist at this point. If they would exist,
a) BFL would have proudly shown the world a working prototype.

You're confusing "existence" with "products ready to ship".

Does the atomic car exist only because there are some rumors and renderings?

Oh please god, no. Now this whole thing gets religious!

Christians may share your opinion. Other might not ...
