982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You At Any Point In Time Blame Who Taught Or Led You To Gambling? on: November 21, 2023, 01:09:11 PM
I was not introduced to gambling just discovered it myself but I do blame people who encouraged or teased me to continue playing when I was just starting I'm glad that I can ignore these people now and learned to accept that when it comes to gambling it should be your decision that matters.

You cannot stop blaming other people for their advice or their actions but there should be a limit or a time that you will stop blaming them and be mature enough to accept that your action and decision is what lead you to where you are.
Gambling can only be risky when you cannot control it, but when you can control it you don't have to blame those who led you here.
983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miss Universe 2023 betting today. on: November 21, 2023, 12:08:03 PM

Actually, anything could be gambled about. Heard about US Presidential Election? There is a topic in this section wherein people made their own guess on who they think would win and same thing goes with pageants of such. As long as there is a contrast between two or more parties regarding the outcome of an event, then it could be a bet but most of the time thru internal agreement between parties 'coz not all platforms are listing such topic on their platforms or site since not all are interested about it. And that's the difference if we would be wanting 'new' topics to bet with; it should have enough community size to support the topic and so that other people could get interested of it, enough for them to place a bet. Problem is rumors with tournaments or contests wherein rumors of cheating could take place as well unlike with normal betting games wherein you'll just bet and wait for the outcome.
It's hard to bet on this pageant because over 70 contestant is vying for the title, and if you're not following the pre-pageant competition to see who will stand out among the contestant you will have a hard time figuring out who has the best chance to get into the top 20, top 15 and top 5 and on the top 5 you will have to guess who do you think is the most intelligent or who will come out with the best answer in the final pageant or coronation night.

It's hard to pick the winner of the pageant because it's not only the battle between beauty but the brain as well and you will speculate on who can give the best answer so you will only know the strongest contender to win minutes before the announcement.
984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this a good advice? on: November 20, 2023, 03:57:10 PM
I keep seeing gamblers advising themselves that you are one step closer to winning the jackpot when you quit too early,  it's sad that they strongly believe this.

Is this true?
This is very popular here in our country friend taunts his friends when they've lost and don't want to return or continue playing this is one way to motivate him but unfortunately, it always backfires, I learned my lesson that when playing don't listen to friends when it comes to stopping and continuing

Quote
This advice is actually making gamblers believe that they can win when they spend a lot of more time in the casino, they strongly believe that not stopping or taking break will bring them closer to their jackpot.
I used to believe this until I got busted a lot, it's a big lesson for me to stop when I feel I should stop

Quote
One of em told me that this is why I don't win, that I only gamble when I feel like, he said constantly gambling is a must if you want to win, but I disagree, because I have seen too many people not knowing when to quit until it was too late.
This is so wrong you should be the one to set the time when you want to play and where you want to play, either they hate you or they are ignorant they want you to become addicted and these are the friends not worth keeping.

My questions are :
Do you think it's worth the wait, he's getting 6% interest per annum but he still has to pay a lot of money and suffers a lot even to the point of having a rift with his daughter
Will you do the same thing and fight for your rights to claim the prize
We need more details about the case but if the winner didn't give up even after selling properties then the money must have been worth it. There's probably compensations other than the jackpot + interests that are not being disclosed.

What I want to know is will they pay the equivalent amount of that 12 million pesos in today's money? The value is no longer the same if you include inflation. I key in the data to an inflation calculator and it's saying the current value is around 16.3 million pesos.

I have provided all the articles to complete the details I cannot just copy paste all the articles here, all you need to do is spend a minute or two to read the article

First I would like to clarify that this is a true story, it was covered by reputable media in the Philippines and there are articles provided in this thread you can also Google this story.

A lotto winner in the Philippines who won 12 million pesos in 2014 worth $217k now, can finally claim his lotto winning and this is after 9 years of legal battle

Quote
On Oct. 5, 2014, Mendoza went to the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City where he submitted a handwritten account of the incident to the legal department.

But because the damaged ticket could not be validated, Mendoza was told by the PCSO on Oct. 20, 2014 that he could not claim the prize. This was based on the PCSO’s prevailing conditions on claiming/payment of winnings.

This prompted him to seek relief from the SC and after nine years of legal battle, the high court ruled that the circumstances surrounding the fact that Mendoza won the lottery were established and that the testimonies of Mendoza and his family were admissible.

Quote
Almost nine years ago – on October 2, 2014 – Mendoza placed three bets for the Lotto 6/42 through lucky pick in an outlet in Batangas. A day later, he found out he won. The problem was his granddaughter crumpled his winning ticket.

In an attempt to straighten the ticket, Mendoza’s daughter ironed the ticket with a piece of cloth covering it. However, the ticket was blackened instead. The only remaining visible details were:
The first two digits of the three bet combinations
The outlet from which the ticket was bought
Draw date
Date of purchase
Partially, the time the ticket was purchased

In these 9 years, the winner did not lose hope and summoned the help of lawmakers and lawyers to help him win the case he even worked as an overseas worker and just came home just to attend hearings and follow with his case and he even sold some of his properties so he can sustain the battle.

My questions are :
Do you think it's worth the wait, he's getting 6% interest per annum but he still has to pay a lot of money and suffers a lot even to the point of having a rift with his daughter
Will you do the same thing and fight for your rights to claim the prize

988  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BC.Game IS STILL REFUSING TO PAY OUT THE WINNINGS. on: November 20, 2023, 09:52:44 AM

That is the only thing we can do is to spread awareness so the other people are not affected but the damage that has been done to the OP and other people being playing there and getting scam, there is nothing that can be done. When the gambling site least cares about their business, it would not matter for them as what others says or thinks about them.

They may not felt the impact of all these issues because of their massive marketing, but once the word starts spreading across the whole community, they will then realize that it's too late for them to change direction, there was a time when 1XBIT is the casino that has a lot of accusations now its BC.GAME, since they have changed direction, there will be more complaints coming, and I don't think they will answer these accusations or go through mediation because if they lose the mediation they will still not pay citing those complaints that they've lost and still did not pay.
989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Are you in profit? on: November 19, 2023, 04:25:43 PM
My vote is no and it includes on this result

YES   - 4 (20%)
NO   - 14 (70%)
EVEN   - 2 (10%)
Total Voters: 20

The result is not surprising to me it just proves that the house edge always wins and for every winner, there are 5 losers since this is a fact we should just enjoy and have fun, and if there's an opportunity to make a profit, by all means, grab it and cash it out and never look back and think that its possible to recover your losses because eventually, you will lose everything, its better to end a session with a smile and plan to treat yourself than regretting that you should have quit after you won.
990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is Islamic Coin? A Muslim Community Coin 🔥 on: November 19, 2023, 02:55:57 PM

Guys! I may be wrong if someone can enlighten me why this Islam religion based project should be supported.

Why not do your research by checking their homepage and reading their roadmap, you don't have to ask people to shill a token to you, if you're interested in a token you don't have to ask why, just check it yourself and based on your parameters on what to look for a coin apply these parameters.
We already have so many shills here in this forum and if you're listening and asking questions like this, it's like asking people to shill tokens they are promoting, investors should be wise now, by doing their research and looking for loopholes.
Based on what I see on ISLM it's not the coin worth adding to my portfolio, I prefer coins that have no boundaries, but if you're a Muslim it could be a coin for you.

991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a mega winner say no to public presentation? on: November 19, 2023, 02:09:43 PM
This has been the tradition of bet companies, they do this in other to attract the attention of the public, to look as if they are the best in terms of winning, things if the mega winner decides not to go public because of a reason or the other, I don't think anyone has the right to force him or her to do so, is just that they might decide to deprive him something, not the money actually, but the ambassador position which I know that many bet company do, once you win their maximum limit, you will automatically be their ambassador, but I think if the winner chose not to show up the company has to do it the other way round without depriving him his right and before this their should be a formal discussion between the winner and the company in other to reach a compromise.
Sometimes it depends on the country in the US, companies openly mention the winner of their lottery and even his personal information I do not agree with this in my first post but if it's from a rich country like the US, Canada, or UAE it's ok because the company can secure you and authorities can protect your rights compared to third world country, in rich countries millionaires can openly roam the street.
But if I'm a winner in my country I will fight for my right not to get my face exposed or I will be spending a big portion of my money just to protect my love ones, its still better to have a private life if you hit a jackpot.
There's no stress and you can still walk in the street because people do not know you have a lot of money.
992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you in profit? on: November 19, 2023, 01:27:45 PM
I have noticed some individuals claiming to be successful in gambling.
but, my personal experience with online gambling platform over the past 8 months has been consistently unprofitable
You're not the only one I had a roller coaster ride in the past 3 months I won once and lost twice It has been going like this for the past three months since I am comfortable with my losses I do not have a hard time accepting my losses, it's just the way it was you have to take it and move on

Quote
I know most of the people pay to win and deposit to recover previous losses.
We cannot stop gamblers from thinking that, because every session is a chance to win and recover your losses, I am also guilty of this but there's no harm in hoping and trying as long as you are not harmed mentally in case you fail to recover your losses, we have to accept the results whether in our favor or not, that's gambling.

Nov 17 2023. 11:37 AM (2 days ago,
Dear BitMart users

I do not believe that the user deposited this amount, but he may have earned it from them either by doubling his money or someone sent him a request to join, and since they asked him to deposit it, it is most likely a scam using phishing links with a large balance.

Code:
bitmartcn.net domain name not working
It is a scam, if you have not deposited any money, do not send them.
Yes I agree I have seen this happen so many times here, it used to be on casino where they made you to win huge amount and before you cash out that you need to verify your address by depositing and now lately they shifted to exchange because of the bull run, this scheme is so used up but it never seem to get old its a classic one, if you are not aware of this like OP its easy to fall to this.

OP needs to confirm if he really deposited that $74k if he does I feel sorry for him if he did not, thank yourself for posting it here so you are guided if this is a scam or not, its 100% scam, be sure to tell your friends about this scheme, although I doubt if this scheme will not be posted here again.
994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer wins seem too good on: November 19, 2023, 10:22:11 AM
I think that before we talk about the gleam and glamour of streamers winning big we should also talk about streamers losing big too. This is the part that is often downplayed. Okay. Now to the topic, what I would say about these streamers is that they play day in day out and at decent stakes. Remember that this is a job to them so they put the hours in as much as I love to play the slots I don’t have time to play like they do so will probably never see a big win in my life time as much as I would love one and I am understand that it  is not a problem.

We even had a thread here about one streamer losing a huge amount of money and thinking that the casino he played with was rigged, it's just speculation if we think that streamers are playing on a different platform for them to win, we have to prove that they are, but unless we cannot prove that, streamers win whether it may seem to good to be true are considered valid wins, what they are using may be sponsored money but to think that its rigged to the point that they make the streamers win is not the case.
Up until now there have been no expose or whistle-blowers that stated that casinos are making the streamers wins to gain more referrals if there are videos or testimonials then streamers will lose their reputation and they will be considered cheaters.
995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The most important thing in a betting site on: November 18, 2023, 01:40:05 PM
Hey,

So, what's the number one thing on your list?

For me reputation is everything, if a casino is known for this, the withdrawal is fast and easy and they will not create false charges so they can keep your money, so reputation is everything and should be the number one I'm looking for in a casino.
Besides reputation, there are also other things that gamblers are looking for to remain and stay in a casino such as good support, a variety of games, marketing and
clean interface, the servers are good and there is no lag.
We all want a perfect casino but unfortunately, there's no such thing as a perfect casino, they may have one feature that you're looking for but lack the other features that you want, but in the end, reputation should be the first thing, you don't want to in case win a big amount and face issues when trying to withdraw it.
996  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Fake transaction accelerator that requires typing your seed phrase!!! on: November 18, 2023, 12:51:54 PM
I'm surprised that scammers are quick to launch a sites for what's trending, transaction accelerators are in demand now, and I have this feeling that scammers are using keyword analysis on what's trending on the internet to create phishing sites to scam so if there's a new trend in the internet that is associated to Cryptocurrency expect scammers to create similar sites.
Education is still the key to combating these phishing sites, you cannot become an investor without first learning how to protect yourself and your portfolio, remember we are our own bank and our security is our knowledge.
997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Letting the cat out of the bag on: November 18, 2023, 11:50:09 AM

If you are facing gambling addictions and you are keeping it all to yourself, you are worsening your problem, find someone who is close to you and open up to them, letting it all out will bring you some relieve and hopefully you will get better, don't wait till you hit the rock bottom before you say it all out.

It's easier said than done, based on my own experience I prefer to keep it to myself because I don't want to be judged by people around me they have respected me, and by letting them know about my addiction they might look down on me, I cured my addiction without people around me that I become addicted to gambling, if you're going to tell about your addiction it necessary to people who are close to you, you should tell this to people who can understand you and who can lead you to the right path to recovery it's better to people who deal with addiction, preferably to professional because they understand your feeling and will not easily judge you.
It's ok to ask for help but help that will not betray your trust and knows how to help you get cured from your addiction.

998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a mega winner say no to public presentation? on: November 18, 2023, 12:55:03 AM

I know some of us must have seen the formal presentation of a mega winner to the public by a gambling platform. Most times, these bookies invite media outlets to their offices to cover the ceremony, so that the news could be captured on newspapers, tv, internet etc. My questions are...  Can a bettor reject being unveiled to the public? Are gambling platforms paying an extra money for the publicity?

Of course, he can choose not to, it is a violation of his right if he wins a huge amount because he bet on it not because he complied with the company's requirement he can go to court to protect his right not to show his identity because he has a valid reason and that is to protect himself and his family, here in our country lottery winners hide their faces to the public and the company complied to the government privacy law, so if on Ghana there is a law about privacy then he can invoke his rights to a privacy.
Privacy is a concern of every citizen in every country and companies should honor the request of their winners to protect their lives and property, it is enough that they announce there is a winner and it should be verified by the government agency that oversees this.
999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Math and Gambling on: November 17, 2023, 03:32:42 PM

School is not important as 96% of what you learn won't be used in the real world to make money, but this 4% left is making a lot of people rich, math and gambling seems to go with each other, what do you guys think? Am I wrong or right?
This is alarming for people who value education, and for institutions that promote education as the key to success, I hope those who have this opinion are small and of the minority, education is everything we don't want a generation of uneducated it will stop progress and besides where do you think you learn math is it from the guidance of teachers.
Education is very important not because a handful of people succeed even though they lack the education we can conclude that school is not important, you cannot work without a certificate that you've gone through a school and the certificate is proof that you are capable of the work you are applying.
Education is our preparation for the adventures we are going on when we are on our own so don't belittle it.
1000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: November 17, 2023, 02:34:40 PM

I was so scared with this story and It affected me for a while, I stopped gambling for a week because of what I heard from this man, his appearance is that of someone you won't want to listen to but what he went through is so eye opening that if other addicted gamblers hear from him it could change them, gambling addiction is really scary.

I don't believe this, it is scarier to meet a guy who is addicted to drugs than gambling, some of the heinous crimes committed are from people who are addicted to drugs, they commit killing, rape, and stealing because of the effect of drugs.
Drug addicts do not know what they are doing because their mind is clouded and many of them do not remember what they commit when they are under the influence of drugs, compared to gamblers who are more sane than drug addicts.
But in the end, and the bottom line both addictions are bad and we should see to it, that we do not become addicted to these two things or any one of our family
Both addictions are harmful to one's self, their family, and the community.
