It's getting to the point where i am seeing nothing at all but people with 1 or 2 comments hyping scam coins, 10 of these guys per old user on topics.

This forum really needs to start banning people that are creating tons of accounts !

The following true story is worth telling for those newer people who were not around pre-October 2013.

iGotSpots,
the guy i busted as the scammer behind TIX / Tickets (with Cryptsy staff's help) was busted scamming people with it. (by me and many others that can back up the claim)
way back for the first time, he got into it with me because i criticized him for posting on this forum that he was going to get his clone coin banned "Spots"
on the exchange it was not on yet.. Cryptsy. This lunatic that has bragged about being a certified Mensa genius last year had made his new clone coin
and had waited maybe a week or two and then out of the blue flipped out and raged hard saying Cryptsy was pure scamming bullshit because they didn't voluntarily
add his new coin yet.. and it had only been about a week and a half and he never even tried to ask them either.
So what did he do ?
He came here to his "Spots coin" ANN topic and informed ALL people who had invested in his coin he was going to tell Cryptsy to keep HIS coin off their exchange !

And i think about a day or two before that me and another guy had iGotSpots banned from the Chat Box that used to exist for spamming the Cryptys chat box
that *used to exist with advertisements for his coin.. me and another guy both had posted here at  the forum he was abusing the Chat box..
So Cryptsy banned him for i think the duration of the day or something i can't recall the exact ban amount.

So he was already starting to get mad at me by that point ..This was all going down back in August 2013.

So when he came here and said HE is not going to allow HIS coin on Cryptsy and said he was going to demand that his coin "Spots"be banned for life
from being added i posted on his ANN topic here that i thought he was out of line making a demand like that and he should consult first with his users / investors..
Commons sense ? no ? Well..
This psychotic lunatic decided he wasn't havin' it.. and lit me up good, Trolling and insulting and attacking me endlessly ..which i have to admit stunned the hell out of me !
i wasn't raging on the guy pr anything.. i politely and simply made a good point and left it at that and his response to me was stunning !
It was pretty clear at this point the guy has massive mental issues and suffers from bouts of extreme rage..
And i was sitting on Cryptsy's chat box when he demanded his coin get banned so i witnessed with my own eyes BitJohn saying directly to him..
YES your coin is NOW banned and it will never be added too the exchange.. he said to iGotSpots.

Then the plot thickens lol

The same day it was banned iGotSpots had a change of heart i guess AFTER his coin was banned by BitJohn and iGotSpots came here
and created a Poll asking everyone if he should have his new coin added to Cryptsy.. copying what i said almost word for word earlier on his ANN topic.
I saw his poll and almost fell over laughing and i said to him.. WTF did you just say to me on your ANN topic ?
And I reminded him of treating me like dirt and attacking me personally and calling me names for posting what he just did AFTER the fact..
So he basically took what i said and copied it and pretended he was now all noble thinking about others now.. which was damage control obviously lol
And i would have appreciated an apology from this mouthy prick but he simply denied it all.. when he couldn't deny any of it because it was all posted publicly.
He knew i was right and it pissed him off and he sure as hell was not going to apologize to me OR any of the users/miners he just jerked around !
imagine investing in a coin and then coming here and seeing this lunatic informing you all he decided HE doesn't want HIS coin on some exchange..
we all know that is a super big priority for any new coin so for him to pull a stunt like that is mind blowing !

So after a day or two, iGotSpots talked to BitJohn (Cryptsy Staff) privately and they came to some agreement that the coin "Spots" would in fact be added to Cryptsy.
I only found out they added it when it was announced on chat after the fact and i laughed sooo hard and i kept saying to all the guys and "BJ" who was on chat
that they have GOT to be joking right and they said no and i looked at the list on the left and their it was..
i was flabbergasted ! WTF ? why would they add that maniacs brand new coin after so little time and sooo much drama ?
And this guy was wrapped up in a Nuggets ANN topic that at the time was 105 pages long that had to be moved the Altcoin section
to the OFF-Topic forum section it got so bad with Vlad and iGotSots fighting (Vlad cloned iGotSPots coin "Nuggets" the first day he got here)
One cloner mad and fighting over a cloner cloning a coin a another cloner cloned LOLOL
(The Nuggets Topic was later after a couple months moved back to Altcoins)
So even dealing with this maniac i think should have been a careful consideration for Cryptsy, but nope.. they were all too happy to pander too the angry psycho freak.

Over the next week or two iGotSpots sat around Cryptsy's chat box contributing nothing but snotty insulting comments to random people as he usually did..
OR going to extreme lengths to try and advertise and promote his new clone coin "Spots" and i occasionally pointed out how he was spamming
which of course enraged him and sent him attacking me endlessly.. all the while Cryptsy staff for months afterwards played dumb about his Trolling on me
and often using multiple account names.. it got so bad that all Chat users would warn me and say oh shit YOUR TROLL is here now Spoetnik hahhaa
and yet Cryptsy staff would when confronted would play dumb and say they never seen any trolling at all.. Which was an obvious out right lie !
They watched the guy harass the shit out of me beyond comprehension.. he had no right to treat me like that an Cryptsy would not defend me in the slightest.. ever !

So around this time iGotSpots decided that not only was he going to Troll on me with attacks and insults randomly out of the blue like a stalker waiting in the shadows
he now decided to pull a whole new level of bullshit on me and started flooding me with unprovoked private messages (i never sent him one first or anything)

I figured i'd share what i wrote last year to protect my beta cpu miner i had released and given to people publicly/privatly.

it's one short c++ header file with a call to activate it on launch of the program.
and it came with a pass through key so if you passed -k secretkeynumber it would avoid doing a hardware check.

this worked by checking peoples hard drive serial number and hashing it with my own made up hash algo.
and then i made a function to check any key passed to see if it was using the correct algo..
if it did not pass then beta functions were disabled in the program.

I figured this might be of use to some other guys to protect their miner beta projects
and show that i am a creative nut case coder and some proof i have done something rather than just talk on the forum.

I made a mod of a file sharing program almost 10 years ago that i think can be adapted to a coin/currency system.
Right now i am trying to think of all the angles but i had worked on the open-source program called eMule before
and i had done work on the credit system it uses and what i am looking at right now is if it can be modded for crypto uses or not.

sorry i know i am a rambling disorganized wingnut so bear with me people Wink

File sharing is my Passion it always has been..
What i envision is NOT being rewarded for finding blocks hashing but you are rewarded for sharing files.
This idea is good because we can ease up on the wasting of electricity and help promote file sharing.
And i think this idea will help miners and not mining farms.. keeping a lot more of the common man involved with mining and not just huge million dollar operations.

This is no white paper with some fancy proposal i'm just saying i am actually looking at doing it because i want to see some innovation in the scene.
If i used emule as a base for this new project i already know what i am doing with it and it would offer a lot of advantages..
For example emule already has a built in IRC client / message system. It's also open source and has clients running on all platforms.

So i have already worked before on eMules GUI and added new features under the hood and new GUI options to control them such as a custom credit system.

So anyone out there done any work on eMule too and into crypto stuff ? Any thoughts on this idea ?
Right now i am thinking security and how a credit system would have to work so it doesn't get exploited..

Rather than bitching i think maybe it's time to just show the cloners how it's done lol

How to clone SHA256D Coins for Fun and Profit

Oh, here we go again! So hot on the heels (or not so hot as the case may be considering its been nearly a year since I started writing about this stuff) of my Scrypt coin cloning guide, I present to you another version, this time targeted at making SHA256 coins, based on Bitcoin 0.8.x.
Why? Why? Why?

Why not? This whole journey has been about the code for me. I've tried to learn these coins inside and out and have had some spectacular success and some epic fails along the way. Cryptocurrency is FULL of “coulda, woulda, shoulda” to coin a phrase I hear quite often escape my wife's lips. If you're not enjoying the ride, there's no point. I got started in this scene to expand my knowledge of programming and networking, meet new people around the world, and to make a few bits doing something I like. Its turned in to a nearly daily routine for me–get up, research, read, try something, try something else. After awhile I've found many of the techniques and answers to a lot of questions. I've also found what coin source code works best for cloning and developed my own versions. You're likely familiar with 'foo' and 'bar' coins by now? How about all the coins released that say 'adam m!' in the About dialog? Yea, you've seen them, you've mined them.

If you've read Scrypt Altcoin Cloning Guide you're most likely wondering why I don't finish the Scrypt Altcoin Troubleshooting Guide. This is the reason. I've been working on a good, clone-able version of Bitcoin for awhile. Thanks to some help from an outstanding Dev from the other side of the world (at least from me, remember I said this is partly about making new friends?) I am back at it, ushering in a whole new era of cloned coins in SHA! Old is new again, eh? Ha, yes it is. ASIC devices are rampantly sweeping the market place and in return, the difficulty of Bitcoin is skyrocketing. What i am asking here is should some minimum requirements be added for posting a new coin ?
So for example no more scrypt coins can be announced unless they have been reviewed and offer something new.
And would any of you older members here be willing to moderate the ANN section if needed ?

Also would older members here be willing to volunteer their time to be on a panel to inspect and certify new coins ?
For example software and hardware gets reviewed on the internet all the time and they often give a review and an award level.
Like a new graphics card is released and one or more people inspect it and post a review then rate it on a scale say Gold, Silver or Bronze (or what ever)
I like this idea myself and would be willing to help do it but i would want it setup so that no award can be handed out unless it has been reviewed by others
AND we agreed with the majority the coin is approved etc. AND i would only do it if we did it all for free.. no kickbacks, bribes or bounties or fee's !

Off hand i would like say Kelsey, BCX, Zack and many others should be asked to be involved..
these are the kind of people i think that would do an honest and blunt review.
And they have also been showing a LOT of frustration with coin spammers here lately.
Also i think who gets on the panel should be a vote with some panels guys too.

I am not concerned with if i am involved or not i just want to see things improved.
What i have suggested here is in my opinion a constructive way to help improve the situation over all.

I just wanted to super quickly add some color i had on an older build i modified before so i figured i'd share it..
I also didn't do any tinkering with things so it should be stable i think.

I am including the .rar files.. one has just the source code i used on visual Studio and the other just the Windows x64 Binaries.
If 32bit is REALLY need i guess i could compile and upload that one too ..if i don't get too lazy (an ongoing issue with me)

It's possible there could be false positives from some antivirus software but i can assure everyone it's clean

Lastly make sure to UN-Check "Use downloader" from the file host before clicking download (using same file hoster as DAZ's infamous Windows Loader)

Don't bitch don't like it then grab the source code and change it lol

Quick Notes:
 - This build was a quick patch to add color.
 - Only tested on Windows 7 x64 with Vertcoin (classic pool and p2pool)
 - I think i used newer libs too like LibCurl..
 - Compiled with modified includes directories w/ VS2010 SP1 (i have my 3rd party libs in different locations than chubner1)
 - Compiled targeting Cuda runtime 5.5 now

The altcoin spammers are now using self moderated topics to remove any honest criticism..

if i post that its a clone my comment is removed by the self moderated topic starter.
they are flooding the forum section with a variety of dishonest and scammy coins
and it reached a tipping where now if we even say what it actually in fact is the comment is removed.

Bitcoin talk i really think it's YOUR time to step up.

Your providing a protected scammer playground and i think you should do something about or accept being held accountable for being apart of all these scams.

I strongly urge the forum staff to at the very least remove the ability for coin cloning spammers to make their ANN topics self moderated.
Because now they can simply delete any comment proving it is in fact a clone for example.
It's bad enough you guys turn a blind eye to user creating an infinite amount of accounts to post new coins with (evading the scammer tag rating system)
