1081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : now with added CLAMs : Play or Invest on: September 19, 2017, 05:34:54 PM
....

Yeah, but why would he do that? He's making money already this way, without having to worry about any government (he stopped accepting BTC for that reason), and he probably also has many CLAM. So what would be the point of closing or doing anything else that would plummet CLAM price and make other investors angry (and therefore not likely to invest in an hypothetical new casino dice)? I would also prefer that he still accepted BTC, so we wouldn't have to worry about this, but I understand why he stopped accepting them.

Many things could motivate him to close the site:
-a new project that isnīt gambling related and/or dependent on user investment
-real life issues (illness of him or one of his loved ones) that force him to reevaluate his plans
-site investment exceeds an US$ equivalent of an amount that dooglus is uncomfortable in holding on to for people (after all this was one
of the reasons why he abandoned BTC as the just-dice currency)

Obviously, Iīm just speculating, but if one of these things were to happen, the current investors would be pretty
disappointed with nearly a million CLAM invested.

Besides from these potential issues regarding dooglus as a person there are other potential situations, which could
plummet the CLAM price (e.g. PoS coins prove to be unviable in the long-term).

Donīt get me wrong, I trust dooglus and his intentions, but with the current investment amount (nearly a million CLAM), my concerns
have a place and are probably shared by other people as well.

1082  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Asian Whales: China will ban Bitcoin trading in Chinese Yuan or USD but... on: September 19, 2017, 11:26:38 AM
There is a rumor China will create a coin similar to USDT(Tether). China will ban Bitcoin trading in Chinese Yuan or USD but will allow Bitcoin trading with this coin made by the Bank of China. Again, regulations seem bad in the short term. However, in the long term, this will contribute to the further growth of the cryptocurrency market as this means governments are recognizing cryptocurrencies.

your reactions ??
you are welcome  Cheesy

Iīm convinced that this rumor is baseless speculation. What advantages would the government have from a cryptocurrency that is pegged to the Yuan?
Here is my opinion on what will really happen:

1. The bans will be strictly enforced and operators will shut down their operations voluntarily
2. China will issue licenses to new exchanges in the future
3. The old exchanges like Huobi that were actually using customer funds in the Chinese shadow banking sector will not receive a license
(maybe they will be allowed to have crypto to crypto operations without fiat trading pairs)
4. Individual Chinese users, who still want to use BTC will find a way to do so
1083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to turn BTC to ETH on: September 19, 2017, 11:20:24 AM
At coinmarketcap you can find an overview of all exchanges that have ETH trading pairs:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/#markets

Simply pick a reliable and trustworthy exchange that is supported in your country of
residence. Alternatively, you could use one of the exchanges that accept
customers from all jurisdictions or offer usage without registering an
account (Shapeshift, Changelly). The latter charge higher fees than regular
exchanges, though.

1084  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: September 19, 2017, 11:14:51 AM
Does anyone know what the minimum viable trading size for BTC/USD transactions is if you
trade using the Bitfinex API? Is it possible to make 0.001 BTC trades?

1085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : now with added CLAMs : Play or Invest on: September 19, 2017, 11:06:51 AM
...

Just-Dice and Doge-Dice both closed due to it starting to be pretty outside and a little regulation spook... The regulation matter still looms a bit, but it doesn't seem like Canada is going to go after "good" crypto, but dooglus didn't want to responsiblity of holding Bitcoins.

Clamcoin was a perfect shoe in because it covered both his Bitcoin and Dogecoin community... it included LTC, so I guess that is a "plus" *gag*.  No one could make the arguement that anyone had to spend and type of value to get them (mining or what not) and there had been no USD trades... Just-Dice not wanting to have shit all to do with USD or fiat or electricity or what the fuck ever.

Just-dice is basically the Neopets of Cryptocurrency in my opinion.  It's kinda cool.  (mind you it's a big fucking neopets lol)

Plus if someone robbed dooglus right now or busted JD... the entire community would flood out and leave them with "worthless coins".

I expect as CLAM grows... more people would buy "worthless coins" and I don't know what dooglus would do then honestly.  At that point who the fuck cares cause we are going to have more crypto than you could shake a stick at.

This is just how I see it.

Thank you for the reply.

However, I fear that any CLAM holdings (measured in BTC value) would drop 90 % or more if dooglus
decides to close the site. This doesnīt even have to be for regulatory reasons, it could simply be that
he wants to move on to another project or hobby and calls it a day.

This would really crush the CLAM markets, because Just-Dice is arguably the largest use case - user Timetwister seems
to agree with me on this - of CLAM right now.

The same situation would happen if dooglus decided to accept altcoin X instead of CLAM.
After all there are many people that doubt the technical viability of PoS-based coins in the long-term and CLAM
is a PoS coin if Iīm informed correctly.
1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: September 18, 2017, 10:42:02 AM
...there is still zero evidence that tether actually has any real money at all.

...

A few weeks ago, I shared your doubts regarding the backing of the outstanding USDT.
However, you are aware that they have recently started releasing their audits?

You can find the few already finished audits at:
https://tether.to/tether-update/

Besides, I find it unlikely that exchanges like Poloniex and Bittrex that are making an absolute fortune
in 2017 due to the altcoin mania would be involved in Tether, if Tether would be indeed an unbacked
ponzi scheme. BTC/USDT trading volume on both of these exchanges surpasses 50 million $ most
of the days, which produces crazy income in trading fees!

1087  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: September 18, 2017, 10:32:09 AM
I need some advise: I want a BTC card with this options: without identification requirements, minim 2.000$ per day withdraw limits, minimum fees posible, good background company. What recomendation you have for this?

Thanks in advance!

You will not find a debit card with these limits that is available without verifying your identity.

Regulations all over the world are increasingly restrictrive, which means that most unverified card users
- irrespective of the debit card provider they use - have a lifetime (!) fund upload limit of
1000 € per card. The European Union is actually reducing this limit to 250 € in the near future!

If you want to cash out large amounts of cryptocurrencies anonymously a debit card is
not your best option. You would have a better chance of cashing out large amounts
by using P2P transfer networks like Localbitcoins.
1088  Economy / Gambling / Re: FAIRLAY - SPORTS BETTING for experts - highest liquidity, provably best odds on: September 18, 2017, 10:22:30 AM
We are sorry the user betg  keeps spamming this thread. We will no longer respond to him here.
Are You kidding me again? You don't answer to my e-mails You don't answer here, simple question: where are fairlay licensed? I promise I am off from here after get this information. And untill it I will still comment here
WARNING - FAIRLAY ARE HOLDING MY 1,2 BTC FOR 4 MONTHS - YOU PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK, IF YOU WIN BIG YOU PROBABLY WON'T GET YOUR MONEY!

My understanding of your situation was that you havenīt actually played on Fairlay at all and instead
were using their platform as a mixing service, which obviously isnīt the use case
of a prediction market or betting exchange.

I personally know several people, who have been using Fairlay for a long time and never had any
withdrawal problems (this is my experience as well, but I havenīt played for large amounts
of BTC so far).

I could be wrong, but from the information you provided something in the trail of your BTC deposits seems at least questionable if
not outright shady.
1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH - will it go lower on: September 17, 2017, 03:39:06 PM
I think 180-200 dollar mark is the ground for Ethereum but if we go into next big bear phase then we could see lower prices.
I don't hold ETH now because it's in sideways but I might buy in the next couple of weeks.

if the ethereum costs less than 180-200, then the cryptornics are faced with huge problems. I do not know why you are so skeptical

Ethereum was trading for less than 10 $ / ETH not even a year ago. The crypto markets will be completely fine
even if ETH is trading for its fair value in the single digits again.

The only coin that can seriously damage the whole crypto space right now is Bitcoin. All other coins are barely used
anyway for transactions. Most tokens are even worse, because the teams have no real business model or a lack
of good developers and have just been created in order to dupe investors that are flooding in the crypto world due to the ICO frenzy.

If anyone gives me good odds, Iīd happily put down a good amount of money that Ethereum will
trade under 100 $ / ETH anytime before the end of 2018.
1090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Antshares/ NEO [NEO] on: September 17, 2017, 03:34:26 PM
Why hasnīt the team behind NEO released a statement regarding the China news?
Every Chinese exchange has by now announced their plans for the future in order to keep
their users informed.

Why havenīt the NEO developers done the same thing?
What is stopping them to set up shop in a more ICO friendly
jurisdiction?
1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why many ico launch with ETH ? on: September 17, 2017, 03:30:25 PM
Many ICO launch payment gateway choice ETH. any other crypto coins why not use in ico payment gateway.

It is the easiest and most trusted. With erc-20 tokens it is simple to send and receive new kinds of coins that are built on the platform instantaneously using the smart contract.

Iīd argue that it is easier to set up an asset on OMNI than on ETH as a complete newbie. The documentation is better and
you have the advantage of the time-tested Bitcoin technology, which is far superior in terms of security than the
flawed Ethereum. The reason why so many ICOs launch with ETH is probably the huge amount of dumb money
in the ETH space. Most long-term BTC holders have seen far too many scams in order to fall for one of the
many vaporware ICO scams.
1092  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 17, 2017, 03:23:12 PM
In all honesty, even though I already put in my guess, I predict the next ATH will not be until 2020  Undecided

Around 2020 is when the oil industry might implode in a Seneca cliff, if not sooner since something like 1/2 of the oil from the US is from these new exotic and uneconomical shale type startups.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1082909.msg21357171#msg21357171

Isnīt oil consumption going to go down by a lot, if electric cars go mainstream (and electric trucks)? I donīt see the oil industry exploding any time soon, because
most oil producing countries still have giant reserves that can be exploited.

@micgoossens
Iīm disappointed that my reasoning for my ATH guess was not enough to get the desired * in order to compete for the 2nd price  Sad
Nevertheless, you are running a great competition, which is a lot of fun! Thank you for running this promotion again  Wink

On an unrelated note, the altcoin with the biggest price rise in the last 24 hours has the fitting name RISE.
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best Exchange with lowest fees on: September 17, 2017, 03:16:15 PM
Poloniex still have lowest fee 0.0001 BTC. but if you can get profit i think fee will not be a problem. bittrex still have no problem record untill now even with high fee

Withdrawal fees should not be the only reason to decide for or against a particular exchange.
The actual trading fees are much more important, because you pay fees on every trade.
You can make hundreds of trades in a single day depending on your trading strategy while
you probably would withdraw funds only every few days.

Therefore I would rather look for an exchange with low trading fees than for an exchange with
cheap withdrawal fees. Actually, Iīd even put more value on features like reliability and a good
trading engine than on a withdrawal fee that you only pay every once in a while.

1094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : now with added CLAMs : Play or Invest on: September 17, 2017, 02:52:15 PM
What happens to the CLAM exchange rate when dooglus one day decides
to close Just-Dice for good? Alternatively, he could choose to use
another altcoin instead of Clam, which would likely have a similar impact
on the CLAM/BTC exchange rate.

Have you addressed these issues somewhere already in this thread, dooglus?
What are your plans for the next few years regarding just-dice?

With the current investment amount of nearly a million CLAM (though dooglus
probably owns a non-negligible share of the bankroll) the relevance of these
questions has increased in my opinion.

Hello Lutpin,

it would be great if you could change my payout address to the following BTC address:

I was hoping that you could change it in your spreadsheet early enough for the next payout.

Thank you in advance and have a nice day!

1096  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is down on: September 17, 2017, 10:39:14 AM
...I'm really not sure why people think that centralized exchanges are vital to the bitcoin economy. Trading p2p is much more efficient and people in china are already starting to do it.

...

Because a big part of the current user base of Bitcoin consists of traders. They need exchanges with an orderbook and preferably also
features like margin trading. OTC or P2P trading may be fine for the casual user, who needs to buy or sell BTC once in a while.
However, it is absolutely impractical for traders, who do multiple trades a day. Especially the guys, who are doing arbitrage or
use scalping-based trading strategies.

1097  Economy / Speculation / Re: I can see a flash crash to sub $2k after the current bulltrap on: September 17, 2017, 10:35:58 AM
...
No one initially. Just because miners are minting 1800BTC per day on average, it doesn't mean they will be sold automatically - miners are known to keep holding on to their coins after minting. If they end up cashing out a certain part of their mintings, they do that gradually to not drive the price down too much, because at the end of the day, they don't want to ruin their own game.
...

This is definitely true. Especially, because holding on to the BTC for some time has almost always been the most profitable
play in the last 8 years. Most miners probably need to sell at least a part of the mining rewards in order to pay for
electricity, payroll, hardware and taxes. But most miners have been around for some time and therefore
have accumulated a "warchest", which enables them to hold on to their coins for longer and by this
increase their profits.

Besides, most mining pool operators are big believers in the technology of Bitcoin as well, which makes
it even more likely that they are long-term holders.
1098  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin (BTC) back to $2749 on: September 17, 2017, 10:32:49 AM
This is just bonus dip for us and the dump is already expected because there is a lot of FUD in different places and the people are like believing all those FUD and look what bitcoin did and it shows that even there is a lot of FUD, it can still fight back and bounce back for a higher price and give profits to the real holders of bitcoin.

It is unlikely that the FUD will stop in the near future. The upcoming November hard fork could potentially lead
to crazy price action - in both directions. It could be a non-event where new money is generated out of thin air
just like during the Bitcoin Cash hard fork. Or it could lead to trouble and huge hashrate oscillations, which
could cause a transaction backlog on one of the new chains. Even more crazy outcomes like Bitcoin Cash
taking over are a non-zero possibility.

I use one for another exchange.
What kind of experience do you want to hear?
It works fine and is of course very safe, at least if only you have access to it.
But I fear the moment it breaks, cause you can not make a backup of it (as you can make with the Google Auth. Secret/Barcode)
If it breaks you have no other choice but writing support and proove that you are who you claim to be. And that might only work, if you are verified. (I don't know procedure of bitfinex for this)

Which exchange do you use with a U2F device?

Yes, that was my main worry as well. Letīs say you enjoy 4 years of a really secure account thanks to a YubiKey or a similar
device. Suddenly the device stops working and you have no option to retrieve it.
In the case of Facebook or a similar account this might not be a problem, but if you have substantial
money on a Bitcoin exchange, this would be a catastrophe.

Maybe, I should stick to smartphone-based 2FA.
