1121  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io Relaunched! 100% deposit bonus. BTC, ETH, LTC DICE betting on: September 14, 2017, 09:49:42 AM
Hi!
should not the amount of BCH be equal to amount of deposited BTC?!
The BCH was liquidated. If you look closely the units are in terms of BTC.

I missed this at first glance. Thank you for pointing this out.

Are there already plans to introduce additional currencies? Or will it be BTC, ETH and
LTC for the time being?
1122  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Wallet mixer possible? on: September 13, 2017, 04:10:45 PM
Until such wallet exists and if you don't want to pay fees in a mixer service you can use a gambling website to send your deposit there. Play a single bet with minimal value like 1 mBitcoin and wait a few hours, withdraw to another address from the one you send your deposit. Keep creating as many wallets as you like and you can use this simple yet effective way of mixing your coins and getting fresh coins, fresh for you only.

Many gambling websites would not tolerate this behavior for long. They want you to actually gamble there
and lose your funds in the process and not become a partner in crime for crypto laundering.

Some operators even explicitly prohibit this kind of behavior in their terms of service.

1123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Etoro seems like a huge Scam site. on: September 13, 2017, 04:04:35 PM
...

To be completely clear.
Site is www.etoro.com
I put on money on this trader, made trades myself ( chose which currencies to buy and when to sell them). Did profit from these trades and then withdrew the money .
I withdrew all of my balance in amount of 420 dollars but received only 80 dollars.

Sorry to hear that. Have they provided any reason why they only sent you a fraction of your actual withdrawal amount?
I always had the impression that they were somewhat shady, because of the huge amount of ads they have all over the web
(even in very shady areas of the web). Besides, they didn´t see to be a real market-maker, which creates an obvious
conflict of interest (i.e. trading against their own clients).

Nevertheless, I hope that this situation gets resolved and you get the money that you are owed!
1124  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why has no fiat casino adopted provably fair gambling? on: September 13, 2017, 04:00:26 PM
Aren't most online fiat casinos required to be regulated, licensed, certified and have their software/rng's audited anyway? If so, why would they go through the extra/redundant effort and cost of becoming provably fair?

Some of these gaming licences are not worth the paper they are not printed on  Grin

There have been many scam accusations against fiat online casinos in the past, where the casino
had a valid gaming license. However, very often the regulatory body didn´t do anything to help the players.
What use is a gaming license if it doesn´t help the player to get their money in the case of an
angle, a scam or an exit scam by the casino operator?

You really have to differentiate between legit gaming licenses (e.g. Malta or UK) and less legit gaming
licences (e.g. a gaming license from some native american tribe).
1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon says bitcoin is a 'fraud' Whats your take? on: September 13, 2017, 03:45:14 PM
As we know, Jamie stated Bitcoin is a "Fraud"
This statement causes Bitcoin initially break its support level and go below $4,000

...

I don´t believe that the price decline of today is caused by Jamie Dimon´s statement at all.
Celebrities and politicians have called bitcoin a fraud in the last years multiple times and
this didn´t have any noticeable impact on the markets.

Besides, it is telling that one of the profiteers of the current financial system is
the source of this negative opinion towards Bitcoin.
1126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Wow everything is down today!! on: September 13, 2017, 03:39:55 PM
This is just regular baloon popping situation. Nothing bad will happen. Market will recover in couple of months sadly. It won't be that quick. But as I said no altcoins or bitcoins are dead. Ethereum is still alive too.

You are aware that the bear market that followed the 2013 run-up (partly fueled by MtGox) lasted much longer than a couple months?
I wouldn´t be so confident that we are going to experience a falling BTC price only for a few months. Depending on
the outcome of the November fork anything is possible, including a huge drop. Some people even expect a huge
Bitcoin Cash pump near the fork in order to take advantage of the volatile market situation.

Anything is possible in the next few months  Wink
1127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Student without much $$$ on: September 13, 2017, 03:20:25 PM
Iranus makes some good points.

Altcoins definitely can have a bigger upswing percentage wise - but the downside can be just as bad.
...

I´d argue that the downside can not only be just as bad - it can be much worse than with Bitcoin.
Most altcoins have tiny trading volume and can therefore drop 70-90 % in a single day if some
large whale decides to dump his holdings of the respective altcoin.

Bitcoin is much safer in this regard because of the high daily trading volume. As a rule of thumb
you can say that the downside risk of a crypto investment increases substantially if the respective
altcoin has a low daily trading volume.

1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on its way up again, increase +25% within 24 hrs on: September 12, 2017, 11:57:30 AM

In the alternative future where I have a smart "IOT" refrigerator that buys its own groceries, why can't it just use bitcoin, or litecoin, or anything else that's proven and doesn't use broken crypto?

I´m still not convinced that Internet-of-Things applications actually need to make use of a cryptocurrency at all.
Let´s take your refrigerator example. What exactly is the advantage of using a cryptocurrency compared to using
conventional programming without any cryptocurrencies or tokens? I think it is much more probable that
the refrigerator will be connected to Amazon or other popular merchants for groceries instead of using
a blockchain or a blockchain-less currency like IOTA at all.

1129  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why has no fiat casino adopted provably fair gambling? on: September 12, 2017, 11:46:04 AM
...
Absolutely, You have rightly said. As far as they don’t anything like that, they will not adopt that strategy. They can use this in the near future but only if they start such sort of games which do need such sort of stuff. Till the time they are dealing only with physical games, there is hardly any need of it.

As someone already pointed out I was talking about online fiat casinos.
Therefore it has nothing to with physical items like a real roulette table or anything like that.

Maybe I´m 1-2 years too early with this thread. I really anticipate this to take off in the near future, because all
major brands will be forced to offer provably fair gaming when the first brand pioneers the introduction.

1130  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / P2SH address additional security on: September 12, 2017, 11:39:06 AM
I read an article from Bitcoinwiki about Pay to script hash today:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Pay_to_script_hash

Quote
The recipient might need the signatures of several people to spend these bitcoins, or a password might be required, or the requirements could be completely unique.

This part sounds really interesting to me. What additional security measures are possible that are only hinted at in the quote? Does
anybody have a link where can I find a more detailed explanation of all the features that P2SH addresses offer in terms of security?
1131  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: September 12, 2017, 11:34:55 AM
...

what i mean.... its not VISA. thats te point....
its Mastercard... no one name Mastercard on the list of blocked cards. The policy will be the same? someone is sure of that?

As of now Mastercard hasn´t changed their current policy. But I assume that VISA changed their policy in order to comply
with new, upcoming regulation. Therefore it is probably only a question of weeks until Mastercard follows VISA´s decision.
1132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Vs. Ethereum on: September 11, 2017, 02:19:05 PM
What do the Ethereum proponents of you think about the following article?
https://medium.com/@muneeb/the-road-ahead-for-ethereum-b5b090bcd1a

Some of the mentioned problems haven´t been solved by some of the brightest minds
in computer science in the last 30 years. What makes you think that Vitalik & the rest
of the Ethereum developers will be able to find a solution for these issues?

Furthermore, it is also debatable, whether Proof-of-Stake can actually
work in the long-term. Vitalik keeps postponing the switch to PoS, because I
think they are still confronted with too many conundrums.

In my opinion Ethereum had a nice run-up this year and made some early adopters really rich,
but the long-term is looking bleak, if they can´t solve the above mentioned problems.

1133  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★★ NEW-- Poker Room Design for new bitcoin brand & LAUNCH PROMO --NEW ★★ on: September 11, 2017, 02:11:00 PM
Looks interesting, very clean, nice as pokerstars graphics....

when it will be on line?

Nice Job

Hi there.

If things go to plan, we should be launching beta on 01/10

Have you specified already for which operating systems your client will be released?
Windows only? Will there be a web-client for people, who can´t download
or don´t want to download a software?

Additionally, can you already share some details for the opening promotions (if
there are any for the beta launch)?

(edit: I found that you edited the information regarding the promotions in the opening post, they look great!)
1134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Undervalued coins on: September 11, 2017, 01:34:32 PM

A list of top 3 undervalued coins that will explode by 2018;
(1) IOTA - Sitting @ a market cap of $1,368,304,388 and current price @ $0.49
...

I´d be careful with IOTA.
Look at the recently discovered issues with IOTA that even made it into mainstream media outlets like Forbes:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/amycastor/2017/09/07/mit-and-bu-researchers-uncover-critical-security-flaw-in-2b-cryptocurrency-iota/#207420627570

I tend to be bearish on the Internet-of-things buzzword in general and IOTA´s value proposition is basically based on
this area of technological progress. If you add the recently discovered vulnerabilities and the huge supply I don´t really
see IOTA as a particularly good investment.
1135  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: September 11, 2017, 01:31:06 PM
...
This is harder to determine than you might think, since I have also some income through the referrals from the link in my signature. They also tend to be quite spammy (10% of BFX's fees which alre 0.1% of an order or less is not a lot for each transaction). As the ref income is also lent out automatically,...

Do you mind sharing how many referrals you have accumulated over the years with your signature link?
I´d be happy with a rough estimate and obviously don´t need the exact number.

Regarding the lending discussion I´m not sure if using a bot is the best way of managing your loans. Some of
these bots take a commission, which obviously affects your returns negatively. Besides, you can easily increase your
profits by altering your lending strategy based on the current market situation and loan demand (e.g. catch the interest
rate spikes), while you would be constrained by the fixed code the bot provider developed, if you don´t develop
the lending bot yourself.
1136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Looking to trade Z Cash for 0.005 BTC on: September 11, 2017, 01:15:56 PM
Looking to trade Z Cash for 0.005 BTC. Let me know what your price would be or if you know of any websites that are safe and quick for exchanges Smiley

Thanks

You can find a list of all exchanges that offer Zcash trading pairs at Coinmarketcap:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/zcash/#markets

If you only trade small amounts basically all of the listed exchanges with suitable trading volume
should be good enough for you.

1137  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Mit Bitcoin auf amazon.de einkaufen on: September 11, 2017, 01:10:24 PM

1138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Real Reason China Banned Exchanges? Cryptocurrency is a Ponzi Scheme on: September 10, 2017, 09:22:51 AM
My only problem with crypto is the ability to fork and produce lots of money from nowhere - otherwise it is perfect for me.. man, I hate that practice, wish they could find ways to address it . We don't want crypto to  become another fiat. All "Regulated" Governments constantly print trillions out of nowhere. Crypto must avoid copying the "governments" by all means.

You have to differentiate between a hard fork based in a strong consensus and a contentious hard fork.

With a strong consensus the minority chain (measured by hashrate) dies off more or less immediately and the coins mined on it have no value and
therefore no money is produced out of thin air. However, with a contentious hard fork you get two working chains, which
produces the situation that you describe.

Besides, the ability to fork is a great thing. Hard forks genereally aren´t done for fun by developers and users, but rather to address criticial
security flaws or introduce innovation in some form. I can´t believe that you see this as a bug, this is a feature of cryptocurrencies!
1139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan’s Entertainment Giant DMM Launching Bitcoin Mining Farm and Pool on: September 10, 2017, 09:17:58 AM
...
It is nice to see that other countries are starting to enter mining industry and by doing this, the dominance of China in mining will lessen. Bitcoin's mining difficulty will sure rise because of this, but dominance China to the mining industry and it's monopoly of bitcoin will be lessened. The only matter of concern though is if they are going to succeed in creating a 7nm chip or not but most probably they will succeed after all Japan is way more advanced in technology than any other country.

I was wondering about the viability of 7nm chips as well. If it would be so easy to produce working ASICs with 7nm chips, Bitmain and the other
ASIC manufacturers would already be doing this themselves!

The correction that DMM will invest 3 million $ in Bitcoin mining instead of the originally reported 300 million $ makes me even more sceptical.
I doubt that a 3 million $ investment is enough to seriously hurt Bitmain, because Bitmain is investing much more capital
into the development of ASICs and has more experience in both areas (BTC mining and ASIC manufacturing).

1140  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why has no fiat casino adopted provably fair gambling? on: September 10, 2017, 09:11:02 AM
I think there's really no demand for it by traditional gamblers who have never played on a real provably fair casino. They just don't even know about provably fair.
So why would a traditional casino even make an investment to build a provably fair system?
...

I assumed that someone would ask what incentives a fiat online casino could have to actually introduce
a provably fair game. In my opinion the answer is quite straightforward.

The only fiat casino market is heavily saturated with lots of competition. If you manage to be the first fiat
casino brand that offers provably fair games this could give you a major competitive advantage.

I think I'm with eternalgloom on this one, and I will talk about my experience, and some of my friends. When I started gambling I did it only with fiat (partypoker, betfair, titanpoker) and similar big sites or networks, that offer both poker and casino. I only got to know provably fair when I switched to BTC. When I played on those big fiat casinos, I did not even know what provably fair was, and the same thing with my friends. So I don't really think they need to offer that, because their regular users just don't care about that. If one offered, maybe all others would start doing it, so again if there is really no demand for it, why do it?

The answer to your question is contained directly in the post of me that you quoted!  Smiley

I´ll say it again:
If you manage to be the first fiat casino brand that offers provably fair games this could give you a major competitive advantage.

That is a great thing for the brand that introduces an innovation like this due to the following reasons:
-implicitly the offers of your competitors look shady or at least not as trustworthy, because they are not provably fair (a user might think: "They aren´t provably fair, so probably they have something to hide, the games are rigged and so on")
-you could gain a higher marketshare in a highly profitable, but saturated market with lots of competitors
-you could stand out from the offer, because as Stunna pointed out many operators don´t really differ, because they get their games from the same
few game suppliers like NetEnt or Quickspin
-higher turnover, because some gamblers might increase their turnover, if they don´t have to worry about being cheated (I admit that they still have to worry a bit, because what good is a provably fair game, if you never bother to actually verify your bets)
