1321  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Now Accepting Ether ! on: May 27, 2017, 12:44:12 PM
I am still asking why they closed this site, maybe, the consequences of bitcoin prices go high?
Or because there is a problem with blockchain,So it takes a long time for 1 confirmation

The delays render the business model of DB useless. Fraud risk is greatly increased and not
easily solvable.

They had a good run and probably made enough BTC anyway.
1322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are some coins similar to Golem and STRAT that I can invest in early? on: May 27, 2017, 12:29:53 PM
I somewhat missed the boat and want to invest in a solid coin before it even starts. Ones like Golem and STRAT. I am not the best at finding these early investment ones so anyone got some ideas?

Checkout www.reddit.com/r/Tezos the smart money is moving there , the ICO is next month

Too many red flags with Tezos. Especially the incentive structure for the owners leads to a clear recommendation to stay
far away from this scam ICO.
1323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The next step for the evolution of Altcoins on: May 27, 2017, 12:21:05 PM
Most coins prices are driven on pure speculation right now, but to say that Bitcoin and Ethereum are the only 2 ones that are worth a damn is shortsighted. This space is so new, who know where it will go or what it will lead to. Its like the internet back in 95
There are 180 paper currencies in the world, many with a LOT of value. 2500 $ / BTC is nothing Smiley

Right, but there are also probably over 1000 altcoins already, so most of them will surely die in pain ) Maybe 1000 would survive, but most of that thousand was not released yet IMO  Grin

Lots of altcoin projects are basically clones of existing cryptos and some even only consist of a fancy whitepaper without any really finished code  Cool
1324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether/USDT verification on: May 27, 2017, 12:06:37 PM
Has anyone undergone their verification process to buy USDT directly and what is required? It used to be 2 forms of photo ID, bank statement, etc, etc, but that was a year ago, is it still the case? I do not mind verifying my identity but I would be more concerned that tether would get hacked and then I'd have to worry about identity theft.

Even though subject is a tad bit old, here goes.

I just did my verifications a few days ago.. I am from Denmark and my country is supported Smiley

The process was insane to be honest. I had to:
  • Upload proof of residence (not older than a couple months).
  • Upload a selfie with me, my passport, and a custom message with date and the word "tether" + my signature it
  • Upload the bio-data page of my passport + enter passport number
  • Upload both a front and a back scan of my national ID card.
  • Connect my mobile phone to their 2fa security
  • Connect my Bank account with iban number / Swift etc.

So far, i've waited 3 days time for a response or approval. If anyone is considering verifiying a tether.to account then please be aware they wont accept screenshots etc of your documents, only files scanned are approved.

Wow, this is really crazy! Here I was thinking that some gambling sites had ridiculous requirements for verification, but Tether apparently plays in yet another league.

It is interesting though, that in the bloodbath today, Tether seems to be the stable safe harbour due to its unique nature compared to all the other cryptos.
1325  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 26, 2017, 12:50:27 PM
"Diversification is key to any long term sucessful wealth"

Good thing he did`nt take this advise 5 years ago.

yeah. screw that. i'm staying put and waiting to see what happens. nothing else interests me in the slightest. if it all goes down in flames then i can live with that.

You already have the right nickname for it to go all down in flames  Grin
1326  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a bubble? When will it burst? on: May 26, 2017, 12:20:27 PM
I estimate 4-5 billion / year is a market-cap that is sustainable by current usage of bitcoin.
The remaining 35 billion market-cap are pure speculation AND the value of potential future usage.

Drug trade alone should enable bitcoin to keep a market-cap in the low billions.

1327  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is dead on: May 26, 2017, 12:10:53 PM
What do you think will happen to the BTC price at (or before) the next halving date?
Last time the price soared in anticipation of the halving of the block reward.
1328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is dead on: May 25, 2017, 05:24:34 PM
wow, that escalated quickly  Angry
Bitstamp display switched from +12 % to -5 % daily change within 30 minutes!

This is going to be ugly.
1329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [ICO] [WGR] | Wagerr | The Betting Blockchain | Bounties on: May 25, 2017, 05:14:17 PM
2 % fee seems a bit high for H2H betting.

Letīs say I make a bet and win 200 WGR when I staked 100 WGR.
Now I am already losing 4 WGR due to the rules of the WGR network.

In my opinion this canīt compete with low fee bookmakers or exchanges
based on Bitcoin.

1330  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: May 25, 2017, 04:55:59 PM
is there possibility to see or calculate when you are going to be lets say fullmember?

My acc has a decent age but I'm still member because a long time I was just lurking Sad

Of course there is, you can use the Bitcointalk Account price estimator. It's basically a tool to estimate how much your account worth, but it also gives some statistics about your Bitcointalk account.
Check here to see the thread and how it works (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1142314.0)

I get this error message when using the service:
Request is processing. Please wait.

(I already waited 15 minutes and nothing has happened)

1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: May 24, 2017, 12:34:45 PM
This looks promising  Grin
What a pity that BTC price is so high currently, which limits the amount of XTZ you can get at the IPO.
