even though this thread was posted from 2018 ago but this needs to be appreciated even though ethereum classic has not reached $100, but until now ETC can still survive, in my opinion ETC is one of the coins that has good long-term potential, maybe 5- In the next 10 years this coin will be able to reach $100-$200, hopefully,,,,,!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

Maybe to reach $50 or $60 yes it can happen in the next one or two years but to reach the price of $100 it may still take a few years later because right now the price of ETC is still around $23 which is still very far from the price of $100.

Last time it took 4 months to go from $7 to $140

Btw, maybe Russia military blunder was unexpected, but (for me) Russia winning
economically is even bigger surprise

Remember Stalingrad?
Sure, there are differences, but in essence the (original) nazis were led into exhaust.
And yes, you need an advantage between 4:1 to 10:1 in equipment to attack and hold a region, but this isn't everything. You need skilled personell, motivated and healthy soldiers, experienced commanders and, most important, steady supply. Who cares about 20 times more in weapons when it's a question of time to see them transformed into a rusty pile of metal?
It's also starting to boil inside Russia, more and more people don't want to get poor and lose their sons MIA because of this war.
Victory?
I think it is still somewhat premature to talk about the victory of Russia. But even Gordon recently said that "to date, Ukraine has completely lost the Kherson region, partly the territory of the Kharkiv region, most of the territory of the Zaporozhye region, significant territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. In this regard, to say that today we are something received, you can't. Of course, Putin received a lot".

Ukraine has no chance against Russia and never had. Even with general mobilization and unprecedented support from the West, Ukraine is losing to Russia's peacetime armies. If you think otherwise, stop taking hard drugs during daylight hours.

Even Kissinger agrees with you:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2022/05/23/henry-kissinger-warns-against-defeat-russia-western-unity-sanctions/

“I hope the Ukrainians will match the heroism they have shown with wisdom,” he said, adding with his famous sense of realpolitik that the proper role for the country is to be a neutral buffer state rather than the frontier of Europe.

Initially I thought that US's support of Ukraine's 2014 coup was just a big diplomatic failure/miscalculation, but now seeing how US managed to prepare/arm Ukraine in 8yrs since then (to the point that even Russia initially seemed to have no clue what surprise they were stepping into), how Brexit happened, and how now Germany/France are all getting screwed, makes me think that this wasn't just a coincidence. Undercutting EU while making it fall in line and totally dependent on US while bringing Russia down is just too much of a coincidence.

Not only that, it got me thinking how previous two world wars were prepared and almost inevitable to happen

Donbas defence falling apart
https://youtu.be/AjbyYtbTuO0

This group of Russian Nationalists don't think so.

Quote
Russian nationalist figures are increasingly criticizing the failures of Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine and are calling for further mobilization that the Kremlin likely remains unwilling and unable to pursue in the short term. The All-Russian Officers Assembly, an independent pro-Russian veterans’ association that seeks to reform Russian military strategy, called for Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin to declare war on Ukraine and introduce partial mobilization in Russia on May 19.[1] The Assembly said that Russia’s “special military operation” failed to achieve its goals in three months, especially after the failed Siverskyi Donets River crossings. ISW previously assessed that the destruction of nearly an entire Russian battalion tactical group (BTG) during a failed river crossing on May 11 shocked Russian military observers and prompted them to question Russian competence.[2] The Assembly’s appeal called on Putin to recognize that Russian forces are no longer only “denazifying” Ukraine but are fighting a war for Russia’s historic territories and existence in the world order. The officers demanded that the Kremlin mobilize all regions bordering NATO countries (including Ukraine), form territorial defense squads, extend standard military service terms from one year to two, and form new supreme wartime administrations over Russia, the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DNR and LNR), and newly occupied Ukrainian settlements. The officers also demanded the death penalty for deserters.

You realize those people are actually pointing out Russia next moves, while at same time
serving as cushion for possible negative public reaction against Putin?
That is not good news. Its a road to further escalation instead peace

Dang, old thread...last time I was wrong (but so was mostly everyone else after 2018 new year rally)
It all depends in ETH going POS now, I think...and judging by development since 2018, we could
wait another 4-5 years, lol.

449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: May 23, 2022, 06:55:17 AM
The most important thing about the fundaments of XRP is that it is NOT a centralized currency, so it is only up to the will of its creators how and when these numbers will change.
I fixed it for you.  Smiley

XRP is a centralized Shitcoin led by a bunch of criminal grifters.
It's not innovative tech, it's fraudulent and bagholders are used as useful idiots.

Unfortunately, nobody will hold Garlingcrook accountable.

All of the fallacies aside, locals who join the enemy forces will be killed just like the enemy. Attempts to twist this into some unfair hostility should be addressed to Putin - he started the invasion and all of this mess.

If he is guilty, he should be punished, better in Ukraine. There are hundreds of reports on the network about the atrocities of Russian soldiers. How many criminal cases have been opened and criminals named so far? None of the normal person will protect them. Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are required to publish complete information so that the thieves and rapists become known in Russia.

And they do that. But Russia isn't doing shit about it, and most likely Ukrainian law enforcement is not going to be able to arrest them. So what exactly is your problem here?

You often quote American and English magazines, apparently considering them indisputable authoritative sources, to accuse Russia. Even the most famous newspaper is not a judicial department to accuse anyone, because there is such a thing as "presumption of innocence". Remember this definition? The United States is the main sponsor of Ukraine's military operations and is the most active on its side, and it is unlikely that there are large independent magazines anywhere in the world that are completely outside the control of governments. For prosecution, an international independent investigation must first be carried out. I and any adequate person will not defend criminals, no matter what country they belong to, if their guilt is proven in an independent court. Articles in an American, English, German and any other newspaper can serve as an additional source of information, but in no way can be evidence of a serious crime, especially now, during the open information war between the countries of the West and Russia.

This is not a court of law. We share information from various sources and I put a lot of effort into reading Russian language sources so your allegation about "American and English" is ludicrously off base. I post links to English versions whenever possible because this is an English board, but most of the information originates in Russian. I try to add warnings if I post e.g. rumors from telegram, otherwise if it's a reputable source then it's up to the reader to decide what to make of it. Again, I don't understand what your problem is here. If Russian military isn't looking its best in these news reports, it's most likely because it's a looting gang of criminals and not because the reports are wrong.

It would be quite absurd to use heavily-censored and mostly Kremlin-controlled media in Russia as sources for anything other than a laugh.

Just warn people that a woman who is accused of changing the price tag in a store now faces up to 10 years in a Russian prison.

Totally not a fascist regime at all.

But you just said you would kill Ukrainians doing the same
451  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 20, 2022, 08:13:43 AM

Bandera is a Ukrainian national hero who fought for Ukrainian independence. He was against the Soviet invasion of Ukraine, a staunch anti-
communist, nationalist but not a Nazi.  He collaborated with the Germans, but later was arrested by them and imprisoned in the concentration
camp.

He was assassinated by the Russians.

You support Russians who committed and are committing genocides and war crimes. Who executed people in Katyn?
Santa Claus? Who killed innocent people across Europe during Soviet times?

Russians did. So shut the fuck up about your support for these animals.

I personally think Russians are most restrained people on earth...if Germans killed 25 million Americans, there would be
no Germans today, except maybe few kept in ZOO.
452  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 17, 2022, 05:50:30 PM
...

Source?
The original source was Alexander Khodakovsky, commander of the Vostok battalion of the People's Militia of the DPR. The information seems to be confirmed, although not in full in terms of numbers.

Ahhhh... "that type of source".
Here, in more detail, footage of the surrender of the militants of the Azov nationalist unit and Ukrainian servicemen blocked at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.

Congrats. You've finally scored a point. You've got negative 13 points now.

The numbers though...
I have read 51 wounded, 256 total, from the MoD Russia.
So, four soldiers carrying one wounded, totals 255. Seems they just kept... uhm saved... the carrying azov soldiers.
Russia has a very negative trust rating, judged by the "say/do" balances of the past. I would not rely on their announcement to swap PoW at some "later" point.

Maybe they want to first settle "shoot knee, stick knife through eye" score?

So, once Putin dies or get overthrown, and some hardliner replaces him,
what will happen next? Would it be good if Chechens get their republic
and 30-40 nukes?
454  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 17, 2022, 09:28:55 AM

LoL
Nice try, troll. I'm too valuable on another kind of front. Better keep doing what i ecxel at, unlinke drunk RA mobilized civilians of the "eastern front".
I quoted and highlighted this, because with that wording you are admitting, once again, that the "special military operation" is in fact war.

While Putin wanted to fight, UA has to fight. He wants to fight so much, that he's coordinating bataillions himself with his failing general of choice (what was his name already?). He should let the army professionals do their job, but no... This reveals overburdening. Putin is losing not only his mind, but also (t)his war. He should fight on the "political front" to not get Russia completely isolated. Instead he shows his emperor-complex. He went insane. Do you think two years of fear-of-covid self-isolation contributed to his sanity? If so, you're delusional.

EDIT: Just look at him. He's almost finished. Just wait for it.

I think big part of this war IS to actually isolate Russia from West...they were not wise enough, or had enough manpower to do what
China did with Great Firewall of China, and now doing it this, much more primitive way, and using war as excuse, among other things

Russia will be forced to take retaliatory steps, both of a military-technical and other nature, in order to stop threats to its national security arising.

So now even if Russia is doing steps to protect its national security, you consider it threat?

Edited to update: Seems like UKR is obtaining some territorial gains in the northeast near Kharkiv. Not an strategic advance to see, but it shows that Putin's army cannot really hold all the occupied territory without unacceptable loses.

Belgorod is now within artillery range.

Your source.

Quote
Russia was our friend and ally in the procurement of weapons in the early 1990s. The Russians supplied us with weapons at the request of France. I am a witness to that - says Marin Tomulić in the conversation we had on Wednesday in Paris. - Now it is considered that the Russians were and remain allies of the Serbs. But during the Homeland War, they armed us, not the Serbs - he adds.

Your source states that Russia sent or sold weapons at the request of France - let's say that is accepted. But, you are ignoring the direct intervention of USA in the conflict in 1999. It was not until this intervention ramped up that the war had a end in sight. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yugoslav_Wars#Timeline

I can see you are looking at only the half of the story - the one that reinforces your views.

I'm Croat...NATO intervention from 1999 has nothing to do with our war, which ended in 1995

What kind of nonsense are you talking about, aren't the children of the worst communists in power since the existence of independent Croatia? See who was the fathers of the current prime minister and this communist fool of the president who shames the state with every statement he makes.

Tito is one of the greatest criminals in history and anyone who still considers him a positivist should be ashamed. 400 000 Croats killed after WW2 are no myth, but you obviously studied history in some other schools. I am ashamed that people like you declare themselves Croats, and we know very well who you really are...

Ukraine probably consider them losing side in WW2, so thats probably reason.
