Anyone know how to calculate expected block time vs hashrate? Doesn't seem to be the same as bitcoin
1202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Mandatory wallet update! on: February 22, 2014, 10:08:34 PM
Almost 9 bilions atm, i think.

Ummm... That's no good . It can never go in price high with that many coins. But since its my coin Cheesy I need to have it . Cheesy

Price/coins is not relavent, getting a huge coin market cap is more important than the price of the coin. Having coins that are worth less only means that when we make payments we will be paying in whole units rather than satoshi .00000058

U are right but its not very convenient when u need to pay something with 30-40$ u need 1M coins . Also hard to calculate how much u need .
Easier to say I'll pay you 1.7M coins vs 0.0043 BTC. Yes, you could use mBTC but the public doesn't adapt well to fractional denominations

If anyones a scrypt miner here... This is my best share to date.

Did the calculation, with a 3 card rig, I should expect to see a share that large every 80 years or so if non stop mining. Can hopefully get some of that luck this week!
1208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MediterraneanCoin (MED) - REUSE your ERUPTER!! new hybrid PoW algo! on: February 19, 2014, 07:27:48 AM

That's a really awesome idea! Is there any way for normal users to view who is winning?

i sent MED to another wallet, and got "0 confirm", it happened for a long time.

I deleted all files except wallet.bat, and reload blocks, but it still 0 confirm...

anyone can help me?
Did you include tx fee? May be stuck in limbo for a while

Price going up, don't miss it.... Grin
Price? How do you know?

I believe MED will be hugely popular once the masses catch onto it, but I don't think MED is ready to go on a market just yet. I'd like to see the community grow first to avoid the chances of it becoming a pump n' dump coin.... Hell, I'll do my part. I will trade anyone a delivered pizza for MED. Preferably in Canada or the US. Any offers?

I may take you up on that Smiley
What time zone are you in? Lets make it happen, I'm west coast Canada

@BChydro
Are you new to mining ? These are khash per thread.
Of course they don't vary with the number of threads ...
If you're using more threads than number of cores your cpu has, mining speed per thread should decrease. That instance has 32 cores, mining speed should max out at 32 threads. But the client reports the exact same speed per thread, even when I stuff 32 threads per core (1024 threads) That makes no sense.

You're all idiots, the detached miner is clearly a botnet.

Proof --->> You can change the threads to anything from 1 to infinity and it will still report the same amount of knumbers/s per thread! It's just showing you bigger numbers than the built in miner so you think its better!

On what piece of crap did u generate that "proof" ? It's not true for my i7.

And how come I just found a block with that miner?
Perhaps there are multiple versions going around, care to share the link to yours?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/riecoin/files/cpuminer%20rminerd%203.0.0/rminerd_win64.zip/download
Using this exact miner:
32 threads

1024 threads

Can anyone explain this?

First ALT Pool:  http://alt.178pool.com 1% fees, thanks to dear zhaolang (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=229722)

Come to ALT family and get you profit from it.

mining. NO blocks found yet?

is there something wrong with this coin? i was also soloing for a bit and didn't find anything. Even this pool finds 0 blocks while the difficulty is low. Whats up?
I'm finding blocks no problem. I've just been using the VERT miner though

I havn't test that, is vercoin miner ok for ALT?
Yes, you used the exact same algorithm.

You also might try mcxnow.  They recently added Max coin due to all the hype and had issues, but I like their interface and all the transfers are really fast.  I think they have fixed their previous issues due to the big Max launch too.

Do not deal with anything that has to do with RealSolid (mcxnow included), guy is scammer or at least very untrustworthy person!
You guys playing on his exchange or dealing with him are asking for troubles and I do not doubt you will get them, sooner or later.

Anyway, what is exchange rate for MED? I'm looking to buy USB Erupter for MED but not sure if 700 MED is the right price, any help?
I asked guys selling those devices for MED what colors are available so here it goes, a picture showing all colors available right now.

Faucet is not working, I can't recall when it was last time I received some MED. For at least few weeks all I got was "result: null"  Embarrassed
My experience with MCXnow has been nothing but positive. Can you please elaborate or use references?
