1041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.0 Automated Transactions on: January 07, 2015, 05:54:32 AM
I'm sure this has been asked many times but this thread is huge. I'm currently using the dev's miner for the dev's V2 pool but I'm looking into upgrading to blaggo's miner.

Is blaggo's miner compatilble with the dev's V2 pool or only uray source pools?
Are there any advantages to using blaggo's miner instead of the dev's miner other than stability and simplicity? As in will I earn more BURST by using blaggo's miner? (The dev's miner has been perfectly stable for me, no crashes)

All these new pools popping up it's crazy! Are there any pools not based on uray's source that aren't the official pools? Do you guys think the uray source pools are better?

Are there any direct scientific benefits to finding large prime gaps?
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: December 13, 2014, 10:07:55 PM
I'm confused by what a gap and a merit is
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: December 12, 2014, 10:18:57 AM
Is there any way to make the gpu miner use any other gpu besides gpu 0?

edit: found the answer to my question

why involves only one GPU

You have to use one instance per gpu.
Use --gpu-dev <id>, to select the right one.
1046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New version 1.1.4 on: November 03, 2014, 09:10:40 PM
I've noticed over the last month or so that the difficulty is always much lower at night (Pacific Time Zone (UTC-08:00)). It's been happening so consistently that I doubt its just coincidence. I wonder if there are entities that throw a lot of big data centre mining power at Burst only during off-peak hours. I wonder if they replot the data every time, or just kill the mining program during peak hours so their bosses don't notice...

How is everyone creating such large stagger sizes now? Is there a plot merging tool that's not posted in the OP?
1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 11, 2014, 07:58:04 PM
Yeah, let's search for investors!
-Say them that dev is not posting anymore once a day, but he disappear.
-Say them that the only 7-8 people posting here are the first bagholders, waiting for investors to dump theyr millions coin slowly to them.
-Say them that there are already millions of wallet packed with burst
-Say them to not buy hard drive, but buy directly burst.
-Say them to not buy hard drive, cause they will not get roi within 3 months, and noone other POC coins will be develope from here to 10 years, so it's better to not buy HDD,cause what you can do with HDD instead mine burst?  Cheesy
-Say them to not invest in BTC,LTC,DARK etc etc but only in burst cause a new unique features is coming, that will make burst different from any other coin out there, and the new features is called.....NO feature,NO roadmap.
-Say them to:
Not invest in BTC cause BTC will die!
Not invest in LTC cause LTC will die!
Not invest in darkcoin, blackcoin, doge or any others altcoin cause all altcoins are just speculative

lol everyone picks on the poor dev. He's one of the hardest working devs I've seen
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 07, 2014, 07:00:33 AM

The owners of 1000Burst asset at Nxt Asset Exchange - please withdraw your BURST coins from Burst gateway with 5% interest (5% more BURST coins).

Just transfer your 1000BURST assets (not less than 1 asset) to the issuing account (NXT-VVTV-U25N-U2FY-2V35H) and in the attached message place your BURST address (in alpha-numeric format, like BURST-MCHC-LBKK-ZLZY-C3XL5).
Major respect for following up and giving everyone their coins back!

It's cool to see that almost every single new block has a transaction in it now

Does anyone know how much BTR you need to get 2 votes per hour on bter.com?

Are this plots ok?

I will help you.  Save yourself the aggravation and frustration of trying to mine this crap coin.  Look at its price chart on C-CEX exchange.  The party was over several weeks ago.  Find another coin to mine.
Wow I can't believe you're still here. As in I seriously can't believe it. You've probably posted in this thread over 100 times, most of the time sounding like a whinny little school girl. If someone disliked this coin as much as you claim to, they would move on and stop paying attention to it. This contrasts the hours of your life you've spent bashing this coin. Something doesn't add up. Either you're trying to manipulate the price of this coin by spreading FUD, or something isn't right in that head of yours.

Either way, tim is the last person you want to listen to for advice.

How do I change my passphrase?
You can't, your wallet address is generated from your pass phrase. You can however make a new wallet with a new pass phrase by going to http://localhost:8125/ and typing in with the new pass phrase that you want to use (make sure it's super long with random numbers, capitols and punctuation). Careful not to make any typos. Write down the new pass phrase and login. You should see an empty wallet with new account id (wallet address). Copy the new account ID and logout. Log back in with your new pass phrase to make sure you didn't make any typos, if you made a typo the account id will be different from last time, check this!!

Finally log into your old wallet and send all your funds to the new account ID

anyone tried the dcct-miner on a raspberry pi? it looks like it is not able to calculate a correct deadline on the pi, and I only get extremely high deadlines. using the java miner, everything is ok.
I already checked the rpi specs and according to the docs it should be able to handle everything like unsigned long long etc. I was able to compile it without problems, but the results are...well..strange...
never used the dcct miner, but do you think the pi has enough ram? The java miner is pretty memory hungry, but maybe it's not the same for the c miner
1055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 12, 2014, 08:45:09 PM
After updating bitmonerod and refreshing my wallet, simple wallet spammed "INVALID TRANSACTION FORMAT TRANSACTION HASH xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" hundreds of times. Are these payouts from pools that I'm losing?

No that is just some transactions in the block (202612) that was part of the attack. The messages are harmless.

Thanks!

hi, don't forget vote this, even it is not a big exchange, but high vote can cause attention of people and will make it be more popular, and i found that every ip can give a vote every 24 hours, it is not limited, i have use one ip vote 10+ times, in 24 hours you can only vote once with one ip, but after 24 hours, you can still vote
Voted again

Anyone else seem to be getting less BURST relative to the number of blocks they're solving on the dev's V2 pool? Noticing this over 10 blocks now, doubt it's just statistical variation
5% reward drop happened today.
But I'm getting around 35% less than what I found for the pool. Maybe I've just been very lucky, will do some calculations
