101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta Is Broken on: February 15, 2018, 07:56:07 PM
I would recommend using https://forkdelta.github.io (I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just so people know). They have decent volume, and pretty much all the obscure unlisted coins that I was trading on etherdelta are able to be traded here. As in they have active buy and sell orders. The website works impeccably as well.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why i am switching from Etherdelta to Idex Decentralize Exch on: February 15, 2018, 03:35:44 PM
A lot many DEX projects are coming now and then, however ED will never loose its place. Reason is simple, ED have the volume.
For sure IDEX is way quicker compared to Etherdelta, but whats the use if there is no volume out there? same goes for Decentrex and others.  Huh

You're wrong. What do you mean by never lol? Haven't you learned that there is no such word in this space? Anyways, I digress. The biggest problem ED's competitors have is (and I don't understand why it's not an automatic feature for new dexes) not being able to trade unlisted tokens. For me that's both the game changer and a deal breaker in case it's not there. https://forkdelta.github.io. Has a decent volume, team working around the clock on it, works impeccably. ED's new owners have screwed a perfectly fine project by being lazy and stupid. It's only a matter of time before they fade into obscurity.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying NEO on: February 15, 2018, 03:26:08 PM
I think NEO's been a somewhat sleepy giant for the most part of the last bull run. I'm guessing it's tied to the uncertain fate of crypto in China. I do believe, however, that we are about to see an explosion take place soon. Like we did when they moved from antshares. A lot of awesome projects are being developed for and around NEO. Neonexchange comes to mind.
104  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you ever been scammed? on: February 15, 2018, 02:41:18 PM
Yeah, got scammed even though I thought it couldn't happen to me, being (usually) quite thorough with my research. However, had a friend recommend me confido after the ico had ended. Wasn't aware it was even going on at the time. Normally, I'd have a look at the team first. Usually it's a dead giveaway on whether the project has chances to succeed. Didn't look this time and it would have been glaringly obvious that it was a scam since all the profiles were fake and could've been deduced easily. Put in 2 eth I think. Wake up next morning to a 70% or something drop. I instantly knew what had happened. Hasn't happened since.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your favourite ongoing/upcoming ICOs on: February 14, 2018, 09:21:16 PM
Loving dock's idea, as my sig can easily tell you. Other than dock, I'm really looking forward to nucleus vision, seele, metronome and neonexchange. All of 'em seem to be winners in my book. Team, usecase. The whole shabang. Metronome's token sale is kinda...weird, as in gets cheaper towards the end. Curious if this style will catch on. Can't be worse than gas wars for 7 second icos.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Arcblock will be No.3 on Coinmarketcap? on: February 13, 2018, 01:28:39 PM
Do you think Arcblock with blockchain 3.0 will be no.3 on coinmarketcap in the future?

Why would you even assume that? What's your line of thought here? Arcblock is definitely an interesting project. Haven't invested in it though. Mainly because it was heavily shilled by known manipulator and shill supreme, Ian Balina. I'd honestly avoid anything that's got his tag on it. Heard he's been blackmailing GEM to get on their advisor list for 1 million dollars. I digress, but yeah, anything this guy is associated with, I'd personally stay away from.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [EDT] EtherDelta Token Speculation on: February 12, 2018, 11:44:26 PM
Today, all the coins show a minus, in connection with events in South Korea. I'll look at future situations, on exchanges and are thinking to invest in EDT, think this is a promising coin .

Honestly, this was one of the most disastrous ICOs I've ever seen. These people took a wildly successful product and turned it into shit. Literally. No support, the website barely loads, if ever. Trades are made every couple days even on some of the more popular coins. And it still blows my mind that it's going AND that there's no other alternative that gives the ability to trade unlisted coins. The market for this seems to be huge, is there nobody out there to get something similar going? If it works as ED did a couple months back, everyone will flock to it. The interface can't be any worse than this.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rival to IOTA on: February 12, 2018, 11:36:47 PM
Seems to me xrb would be a decent contender, but afaik there are no smart contracts on their chain. However, no matter how many viable alternatives there are to one of the popular coins, there's always the first mover advantage. Until it isn't, but it mostly is. We have the example of NEO, which, imo, is a much better platform than eth. Eth, however, has the ethereum alliance behind it. Always getting partnerships left and right. Already involved in the development of the whole ecosystem.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's happening! Paying tax in crypto! on: February 12, 2018, 11:26:05 PM
Saw this and wondered why it has been more focused on and mediatized. It seems like a really big deal, at least in my book. If the US were to take the marijuana approach to tolerating and integrating crypto in daily life...I mean, for me, this is the point of no return in terms of recognition and adoption.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most promising ICO's for 2018 on: February 11, 2018, 11:14:21 PM
I don't wanna go into detail as to why I'd pick what I did and since I'm biased anyway cause I'm invested in these projects, I'd say nucleus vision and dether are my favorites. Didn't manage to get into bee's whitelist, I found it very interesting however. Not sure about dadi though. Wasn't there some controversy surrounding their whitepaper, which was allegedly copied from a different project?
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is hodling alts dangerous? on: February 10, 2018, 12:54:57 PM
There are many bitcoin maximalists out there claiming that every single altcoin and ico is a scam. I highly disagree. I think making the right choices in terms of altcoins, as in researching the team, the project, vision, can yield great results. I have been in the game since july last year, I think. During this crash, none of the choices I made in altcoins went below 100% on the original investment. However, the fact that there's a project with a solid product, vision and team does not necessarily mean it will succeed. After you've checked out these prerequisites, there is still the possibility the product might fail due to way free market economics work. Someone else might have a better product that you simply did not know about due to overwhelming amount of info you need to digest daily.

There's more to be said on the subject. But I think real projects, with real products (a few come to mind, most of 'em involving RFID tech) are safe choices. At least for me.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance is back on: February 10, 2018, 10:40:56 AM
Luckily it was 'only' a DDOS-attack. There is not much an exchange can do about this to prevent it from happening. A DDOS-attack is pretty expensive to execute. What did the attackers want to achieve with this? Spread FUD to decrease the bitcoin/altcoin price and step in with an investment at the bottom? Good to see the market didn't react to this attack.
I'm also happy that there was no negative reaction, price-wise. It leads me to believe that this market is increasingly resilient to outside attacks. It is still rife with manipulation, but I feel we're on the right path in terms of future stability. After this last crash, which resurfaced some of the insecurities I had long ago dismissed, the market seems to be on a healthy path. I'm not very fond of violent swings, downwards or upwards for that matter. A week later, it's as if it didn't even happen.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance is back on: February 10, 2018, 09:15:40 AM
There is no other real exchange for me, tbh. The most professional and most transparent team yet. Incredible support, I lost my 2fa a while back. Emailed them at 3 am. Next morning I woke up to them having reset my 2fa. I just hope it doesn't go to their heads and they end up like bittrex or something like that. The CEO seems like he knows what's up. They've pretty much been trying to avoid doing the mistakes the others have made. And it's worked out incredibly. They're on top of the game right now.

Just came in here to show these people that their efforts are and will continue to be rewarded. We need more exchanges like Binance.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta Is Broken on: February 10, 2018, 06:47:04 AM
Is there any other DEX out there that has the option to trade unlisted tokens? That's basically the only (but biggest, imo) advantage ED has over competitors. I mean, at this stage it's laughable that this excuse for an exchange is able to get anyone to trade on their slow, buggy platform. Why has no one taken over? These guys are literally asking for it. Barely speaking english, no communication, shitty ICO. At the time ED changed hands it was really top notch. Well, not really, but still very much usable. You're lucky to get it to load these days. Volume has gone down to nothing. Can't someone put it out of its misery by releasing something professional?

I wish you'd be a little more concrete as to what the main purpose of this project is. Everything is looking good, but I'm not really getting a sense of what is the main goal to be accomplished from having a look through your website.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unfortunately people will learn the hard way that Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme on: February 06, 2018, 11:03:18 AM
Bitcoin's inherent value comes from the technology.

That is, I'm afraid, completely wrong.  The technology is open source and so can be used by anyone to set-up their own blockchain.

Bitcoin's value is mostly from it's brand, the fact that most people have heard of it.

(There is a little bit of value from it being a means of exchange, but that value has almost been destroyed by its recent volatility - the number one requirement for a means of exchange is that it be reasonably stable.  That underlying value will return once the speculators have been burnt and left.)

I was not referring to fiat valuation. I was referring to value as in potential.
Bitcoin's fiat value does indeed come from the brand. But its value to the system is that it acts as a gateway and is, what I consider, the first prophet of true decentralization. It needs improvement. Bitcoin, as a brand might as well die one day. But having got us to a point where we no longer need it for the advancement of this goal, I say it deserves respect and recognition.
118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unfortunately people will learn the hard way that Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme on: February 06, 2018, 10:00:36 AM
What I have in my bank account is not a number but a legally enforceable instrument backed by enforceable loan contracts. Number only measures the size of this instrument.  But, like I said... you wil learn the hard way what bitcoin really is.
The amount of intellectual rigidity you display is making me chuckle. Your kind is on its way out, friend. I'm not some conspiratorial nut. I'm pretty vanilla in the way that I see the current socio-political status-quo. But this status-quo will die a slow and painful death. And that is due to free market economics. It will not be feasible, effective or anything but cumbersome when we reach a certain level of advancement. Remember my words.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unfortunately people will learn the hard way that Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme on: February 06, 2018, 09:50:48 AM
Bitcoin is NOT a Ponzi scheme!

It is a currency competing for dominance! It will REPLACE the dollar! Thus, all dollars are converted into bitcoin. The more dollars converted to bitcoin the value of bitcoin goes up, because bitcoin is NON INFLATIONARY!!
You are wrong. Bitcoin is a number. Number is not a currency but mathematical object. A currency is legally enforceable instrument which originated from loan contracts in a specific country.

Bitcoin's inherent value comes from the technology. The internet was about as useful as bitcoin is now before people realized the potential and it was widely adopted. Ideologues will never care about the current fiat value of Bitcoin. It's the potential to bring economic slavery to its knees.
You don't own technology by having numbers in your bitcoin wallet, which is why bitcoin's value cannot arise from the technology. It's a pretty simple syllogism.

What you do not seem to understand is that bitcoin is being given fiat value by speculators. That might be construed as being a ponzi. But the decentralized nature of the system allows anyone to use bitcoin as they please. Do you understand the technology behind bitcoin? Are you so closed-minded that you cannot see the massive wave of decentralization in technology all over the world? It comes in various degrees, but things from torrents, netflix and video streaming platforms like youtube all have a certain decentralizing nature (not completely, obviously) in common. People are allowed more freedom of choice, as funny as that may sound when referring to netflix or whatever (compared for example to classic TV), but it's the underlying reasoning for the advancement of this pattern.

If you cannot see this pattern, as early as it may be at this stage, I have wasted my time. Bitcoin, as a vehicle for speculation, is not something I'm particularly fond of. Sure, I'm making money off it here and there, won't complain. But it's not the reason I'm here. Decentralization is the future and bitcoin is one of its prophets. And I'll tell you why decentralization is the future. It's because it's efficient. Pragmatic. Imagine entire cities having no need for central government. Cities that run on their own. And so...so much more. That is the future my friend, and I laugh at those that cannot see it.
