61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Electroneum a SCAM??? on: May 10, 2018, 11:26:53 AM
Grin   lol the who thread is full on ELECTRONEUM FAN CLUB

Its not a SCAM  but make no mistake its a  SHITCOIN Huh .

Price will increase for sure because its crypto craxe  but nothing changing the world here
hahahaha i made savage money off it. its still nearly 3x the ico and thats at its lowest. wake the fuck up.

The fact that you made money off it, does not make something less scammy (ie: verge, tron). While the project itself is not a scam per-se, it resorts to scammy marketing tactics. Luring in people with the idea that you're mining with your phone is a scammy tactic. Doesn't matter if you're getting credited for the fake mining, you are implying the network can be upheld securely by mobile devices (which would be awesome, imo). We all know that doesn't happen and you're basically getting some airdropped tokens. Electroneum brings literally NOTHING to the table. It is for all intents and purposes a shitcoin.

Is Bitcoin overhyped?

At this point, bitcoin is unfortunately almost entirely a speculatory asset. That's because we're still rather unsure whether it can handle widespread adoption. We're not even sure if bitcoin itself will be the crypto to deliver us into mainstream use (mind you, that is a rather important aspect). The values of bitcoin and all the alts that follow it are highly volatile because we've got great ideas but we're not sure we can implement them. As much as some things are certain in this space, there is a lot of confusion as to where and how we're going to get anywhere.
63  Other / Meta / Re: Haven't got any sMerits since the system was introduced on: May 10, 2018, 10:50:52 AM
Well now you have 1 Smerit.

Use it wisely, looks like someone else had the same idea as me maybe, because you received another one while I looked at your posts.

Things are drying up, but it is what it is. Originally I though thought the 4 or 5 I got would replenish each month, but I haven't found it necessary. I have received a decent amount, although it has slowed recently. Mind you I'm pretty pleased with the last few I did receive.

Edit: Smerit only replenish if you are a source; didn't express myself very well. Thanks Peter... I mean VOD

Ah, the clarification I needed. Much appreciated. I did not realize you are rewarded sMerits based on the merits you receive, thought we all got 'em at various intervals.

One of the reason why your posts do not get merits is because more then 50% of your post are in Alternate cryptocurrencies(based on 40 last posts you made) , so let's say you have poor visibility of your post on forum.Try to post more in different boards, and work on the quality of your posts. Also join to some of merit competitions/contest so you will have more chance to get some merit for good quality posting.
Appreciate the tips.

sMerit is undoubtedly making this forum healthy, imagine more users now post something helpful and constructive just to get sMerits.

Yeah, the merit system was a necessary addition in order to contain the onslaught of "when moon sir" people. I do think they need to incentivize sending merits, though.

Knock yourself out, just sent you 1 Merit. Use it wisely young padawan.

Thanks mate. Appreciate it.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we remove @Bitcoin on twitter on: May 09, 2018, 07:52:34 AM
I think bitcoin cash will be real bitcoin in near future..I don't think BTC will hit $100000 but BCH will hit it definitely..what you think about that...just wait and watch the drama bitween BTC and BCH..... Grin Grin Grin

Bcash is not bitcoin. Never was, never will. It's an attempt by a band composed almost exclusively of frauds and scammers. Ver, Wu, Wright, Ayre, Andresen. Just off the top of my head.

To address the topic at hand, we need to take down this account. But through legitimate means, as in showing the follower base that the account does not represent bitcoin and is attempting to defraud people. Reporting the account to twitter will only take it down for a limited amount of time. It's a useless waste of time.
65  Other / Meta / Haven't got any sMerits since the system was introduced on: May 09, 2018, 07:47:42 AM
The day the system was introduced I remember having 4 sMerits. Gave all of 'em to Lauda, without realizing that they'd be distributed so scarcely. Kind of an understatement, seeing as how I haven't gotten any since. Can anyone shed some light on the matter?
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO EXPERTS on: May 09, 2018, 07:43:45 AM
Explain how your group is to be trusted and is not, in fact, just a pump and dump group? Surely, you must know how hard trust is earned in this space.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: who bought bitmain Z9 will face a big issues now on: May 06, 2018, 08:31:58 PM
Very good to know
BTG and BTCZ are really good coins with great volume

Developers of these coins have my RESPECT and my support, I already have some coins but I`ll support even more

What? Why? Both of those are scams, just like bitcoin cash or any other fake bitcoin out there. I find all this forking to fight asics stupid, tbh. I'm no fan of bitmain's monopoly, but forking projects to tone down the market dominance is basically burning the house down to fight a flood. What other company will want to get involved in making these if they can rendered useless by economically illiterate nerds?
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can the massive creation of Altcoins can be stopped? on: May 06, 2018, 08:13:47 PM
I'm worried mainly because the majority will find that they won't have lost money in outright scams, just terrible projects. How many ICOs which come out on a daily basis do need or even benefit in any way from using blockchain? I'd argue that maybe 1%.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What to BUY? 10K $. on: May 06, 2018, 08:08:07 PM
Guys what is your suggestion for investing 10K$ in ALTCOIN?
I already Bought, BTC, ETH, NEBL, (75K$) Now I want to invest 10K $ More, What to BUY?

Just a friendly advice: take ALL investment suggestions from random people with a grain of salt. I feel that crypto is much more dangerous compared to the stock market, and not why you'd think. It's not the volatility, but the ability to get tricked into buying something that seems promising and there's a significant possibility that it's either an outright scam, or a product that doesn't need blockchain, it's just being adapted for the the purpose of crowdfunding. Study the teams and their backgrounds, first and foremost.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alts to HODL on: May 06, 2018, 08:03:07 PM
My only long time hold is eos. I think it's the only other platform able to create an economically incentivized ecosystem similar to how the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance worked out for ethereum. Got in really early, it's my best performing investment, so far.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your Tactic For The Upcoming Btc Crash on: May 06, 2018, 07:58:51 PM
Thought the last amazing bull run had at least a couple weeks to a month 'till bubbling. Didn't manage to cash out in time, mostly due to greed. I reckon I know better now. Basically, even if it means giving up on a potential 20-30% win, I'm not gonna take any chances with my holdings dropping 80% like last time. That depends on whether we're gonna see another bull run similar to the last one any time soon.
72  Other / Meta / Re: Is the merit system flawed? on: May 04, 2018, 09:45:51 AM
>..<

I gave you a merit for this post - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2889909.msg29707887#msg29707887

I wouldn't have seen it if I had not looked through your profile. It's in the frog pond (serious discussion), and I don't bother to look there. It's an unfortunate fact that you have to go where the awarders go, if you want to pick up some merits. This won't change until new and junior members are restricted ti their own boards, and this will reduce the rubbish on the main boards in my opinion.

Much appreciated. So yeah, to reiterate, the system needs some fine tuning. An idea would be to somehow incentivize the sending of sMerits as well. As of now, many people either don't know about the system - it's not exactly in your face - or don't really care about sending someone merits. Another idea would be to at least make it easier to sMerit someone, maybe something similar to upvotes on reddit. It's somewhat cumbersome to give out merits, imo. Anyways, I'm sure if we try to maintain the level of discussion as high as possible, we'll be able to recognize those that constantly contribute in a significant way.
73  Other / Meta / Re: Is the merit system flawed? on: May 04, 2018, 08:37:40 AM
I personally am not a big fan of the merit system for ranks on here, I think it pushes for people to simply beg for merit, account farm, or pay people to give them merit. As there is no incentive at all, for people to give away their smerit to others -- which doesn't make sense to me as people don't want to hand them out.

What do others see in regard to the flaws for the merit system? I'd love to see what some others think.

There are no perfect system and every system can be gamed by people. One thing you dont see about merit system is it pushes people to be better forum-wise. It makes people contribute, engage, doing a good deeds like challenge, etc. You just dont see the bigger picture here.

I'm pretty much stuck at being a full member, never been handed out any merits, although I always strive to post as best I can, so I guess in that regard the system is working. I was sick of the "nice project sir", "when moon sir" people spamming across the board and being financially incentivized to do so. However, I think the sMerit distribution is a little too strict. For example, I had 4 sMerits the day the system was implemented. Sent'em out that very day. Haven't gotten any since. I guess that should be fine tuned so we could hand out more to those really deserving. If they're too scarce, they can be a tool of coercion and corruption.

75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 03, 2018, 02:49:40 PM
ZEC will be killed by shitmain.
GPUminers,welcome to XZC,

No, it won't. All you people who can't see that garage projects with videocards could never achieve global adoption, lack vision. ASICs are the future for pow, there is no other option. Efficient, stable and dedicated to securing networks. I'm not a fan of bitmain's monopoly, however, that's gonna change and rather soon from the looks of it. More and more companies are getting involved in asic manufacturing. And if you think centralization cannot be achieved through gpu mining, you're naive, to put it mildly.
76  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happend 2140 all BTC are mined on: May 03, 2018, 10:44:34 AM
bitcoin will have moved to pos by then.......... dont worry about it since you will be less worried by then too i expect

there are tx fees left to allocate after mining is done
Less worried due to sleeping 6 feet under. Jokes aside, if bitcoin is to survive as global uncensorable cash by 2140, it will have to undergo transformations that might not seem realistic today. I get the feeling that today bitcoin is not treated with the respect it's due. The vibe I get from interacting with somewhat knowledgeable individuals on this matter is somewhat derogatory. They are viewing as an amateur product with lots of hype behind it. And to be honest, the petty politics plaguing the space are not helping.

Bitcoin will have to change into something user friendly, but professional. I don't know how else to put it, other than making a simple analogy: most people see bitcoin like a young skater with decent talent. Older folk tend to look down on him, cause they don't understand him. They don't think and honestly don't care if he ends up famous because of what he does. In order to appeal to this category of people, Bitcoin will have to be able to wear a suit and tie, at least from time to time.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: where can I find a good bounty? please show me!! on: May 02, 2018, 11:24:49 AM
I have just joined into the bounty program, please show me some good bounty! thank you very much Cheesy Cheesy

We can not show you good bounties. You can choose in the bounties section. You need to look at certain things in order to understand what is good and bad. I think you will learn over time.

He needs to understand simple concepts like the strength of the team and their promotional ability (ie: shilling). A website that lists every (?) bounty available is http://bountiesalert.com/. Good luck.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero (XMR) really the most protected? on: May 02, 2018, 11:00:50 AM
XMR is most private technology.
This has been confirmed even by Zenchash CEO
Soon will be monero hardforks, and tem saying if you use your keys for claiming coins, your privacy will be under risk
Sadly monero will be banned in some countries especially some countries will be announcing that XMR will be disallowed to be traded in some exchange sites especially in japan. Look at the latest news about that. When it comes to the real thing and then to use monero will be worthless because it's still pegged on the centralized exchange sites.

Please provide some sources for that. I've always thought monero would never be allowed to be anything more than a tool for the dark web and shady dealings. But even then, if the amount of exchanges allowing it to be traded is reduced, it's gonna be really hard to cash it out. It's why I never really invested in it, even though I think it's a great project.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cloud mining profirable? on: May 02, 2018, 10:37:15 AM
Remember, it would take a very long time to get your initial investment back with cloud mining at current prices. However, if the BTC price rise significantly you could make a profit. But in that case, you'd be better off purchasing Bitcoin directly on the exchanges where you can profit through buying the dips and selling when it pumps repeatedly, or long term HODLing.

Any contract of cloud mining that you could purchase for a low entry-price would most likely take years in order to see your money back. If you are relying on a price jump in BTC, then I would agree you are better off simply purchasing BTC, doing the same thing with less risk and parties involved. If you are planning on investing even a couple hundred dollars into cloud-mining, then I would suggest that you're probably better off just buying a single GPU to put inside your computer and mining off of that. You will see better, more reliable results that will remain untouched by an external cloud mining company that certainly wants their cut of your profits.

It's almost like there's always a better option than cloud mining. Low-budget or high-budget has GPU options, GPUs don't take up very much space so I doubt that is a concern. If you're interested in throwing your money at a ponzi-scheme, I'll take $500 now and every person you convince you to give me $500 I will give you $250.  Cheesy

I mean, the question you gotta answer for yourself is: why would someone develop a business around making money for other people, when they could very well do it themselves? Liquidity? Come on, they could have a partnership with an exchange of sorts and would be able to cash out any crypto, on the spot. For me, this type of operation is a painfully obvious scam. The added referral systems most of them employ should be further proof that it's also a ponzi.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: coinmarketcap or cryptocompare - which is better? on: April 28, 2018, 11:55:10 AM
I stopped using coinmarketcap after the disappearance of korean exchanges' volume. The prices came tumbling down after that, as a result. Which is insane. Thinking that a simple website like that can make tens of billions go away in the blink of an eye. It's the same as mining centralization. I've started using livecoinwatch since. Customizable with a cool interface.
