42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I invest in altcoin now? on: May 20, 2018, 01:53:33 PM
In the current dip situation, I want to put engage some of my savings into alt coins. but it is tough to me to choose the right one. Could you please help me to choose the right one which at least not push me towards FUD?

I will post this every time I see someone making this type of request: please consider not investing in crypto unless you do your own research beforehand. Profits in this space are generally driven by one thing: the largest amount of shilling. If you don't wanna do extensive research, consider investing in the top 20 coins only (with a slight caveat: be wary of tron and bytecoin. Not outright scams, but shady at best). Don't let anyone convince you to put money into something you know only the name of, no matter how good it sounds. When being presented with a "hidden gem", consider why you're being provided the information free of charge. Many people get suckered into it because greed takes over and you're unable to think straight.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is so special about ethereum? on: May 20, 2018, 01:32:11 PM
Value is 600-700$.
What is so special about platform which is in my opinion jumping point for many fake initial coin offers?

It is not a currency. I would have understood value if ether was currency, but it is not.

Ethereum is a platform, ether is in fact a currency. Why are you claiming it's not? Ethereum is a decent platform, there are definitely others out there with better tech (neo, ada, eos etc.). What the others do not have is the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance. A network of devs, promoters, businesses that work together towards mass adoption. It's why eth is no 2 right now. It might change with eos, though. That is if they decide to put a part of the gross amounts they received in the ICO towards creating a similar alliance for developing the ecosystem.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any new promising Masternode coins? on: May 20, 2018, 01:24:23 PM
I'm not aware of any new ones, but I got a website that checks the profitability of running a maternode and provides some other interesting stats as well. https://masternodes.online/
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCash? on: May 20, 2018, 12:30:14 PM
The solution to the scaling debate that bitcoin cash came with is an interesting experiment, if anything. It might even turn out to be a better option than lightning and other second layer solutions. However, the problem with bch is that the people behind it have the network by the throat. They are almost exclusively a gang of scammers and frauds. They are actively trying to confuse people into believing their shitcoin is in fact bitcoin. That's what drew the ire of the knowledgeable members. I have faith their reckoning is incoming.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty campaign - waste of time or great passive income? on: May 20, 2018, 12:21:03 PM
Usually it's the project with a flashy website, no substance and unknown team that turns out to be a scam. But doing your research in terms of team, viability of the idea and token purpose, just like you would when putting your own money in an ICO, I honestly don't think you can get scammed. Maybe the project will flop, and god knows many of 'em do, but you can protect yourself from scams with 10-15 minutes worth of research.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS vs ADA? on: May 18, 2018, 08:28:25 AM
If the EOS devs channel some of the staggering amounts of money they got in the ICO to create something similar to the Ethereum Enteprise Alliance, I think they could win the platform battle. I'm still rather suspicious about DPOS. Wanna see it prove its worth, but I'm not liking their 21 block producers model.
48  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bull market on: May 18, 2018, 07:47:18 AM
There is no doubt that bull market will happen starting with the Consensus event this coming May 14th. Base on the history of Consensus charts, a lot of investors are going to invest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, and the most exciting part would be the post-Consensus days where we will see a big bull run. It would be huge because the number of attendees increased from more than 2k to almost 7k. This is going to be exciting!

Consensus was a huge failure this year, unfortunately. Nothing of substance was presented. The market adjusted accordingly by dropping to the levels from before the latest bull run. It was more like a classic case of "buy the rumor, sell the news". Very disappointed with the performance they put up. Unprofessional and disorganized.

You're accused of abusing bounties, apparently. They're saying you tried to join bounties through multiple alt accounts. Whether that's true or not, I don't know. But there's a lot of "moon sir" people doing this. Can't really say I'm sad about those responsible for this being excluded from participation in these bounties.

Still don't understand why people get negative trust in this forum. Do they get it by negative comments or creating unnecessary thread?

Scams or multiple accounts, mostly.
50  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: An insider scoop on why "PUMP" groups are a SCAM on: May 17, 2018, 10:04:07 PM
Don't really need a detailed post like that to prove these are obvious scams. Just think about it this way: why would anyone give these "tips" out for free? Like in the case of facebook or some other free website that provides a service, you're the product.
Its not really  necessary but why cant just appreciate on having a detailed information on here and op did make some efforts and clearly illustrating how these things go. This is helpful for those fool people who arent aware and still joining into this Pump groups. Seeing this post will really open their eyes and wont tend to join up again. Going back, ive never tried to follow these tips because im fully aware that those people who are making signals are already bag holders and hyping the coin just to secure out profits if fool investors would tend to buy out.

Maybe I was misunderstood. I'm not saying PSAs like this one aren't appreciated, I only meant that such schemes should be obvious without providing proof of why they're scams. It should be implied that anything related to pumps, signals and other "free" services these groups provide on telegram, is to be ignored.

53  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day Trading Crypto. Need HELP on: May 13, 2018, 10:02:14 PM
If you've made losses while holding, day-trading is not gonna be any fun for you. Day-trading is basically gambling. You can get lucky, but every once in a while you'll get burned bad enough to lose all your gains or even the original investment. I learned TA and attempted to play around with what I'd learned using 100$. Long story short, TA is somewhat reliable for bitcoin and ethereum, not so much for the others. Learn to identify dips and how far down you can speculate they'd go and buy. Sell when at a comfortable profit. Don't get greedy. That's your biggest enemy in this game.
54  Economy / Economics / Re: Can it be possible for the whole wide world use a single currency? on: May 13, 2018, 09:18:35 PM
Bitcoin as a single currency will be a good idea. It can bring bad effect and can also bring good effect.
But doing that, will not be so easy. Because some country are not satified in bitcoin, because of its quality, of being volatile. It can bring big change in our economy. It is a long process, lets just wait and see, for now lets all enjoy bitcoin and support it.
You wrote a lot of text, but said pretty much nothing. Bitcoin as a single currency is an awful idea. It would collapse economies all around the world, there would be nothing to measure it against, and not to mention not everybody would have access. That would fragment the world wide markets and for that reason it can't happen. Alternative it will be, like gold is to fiat and we should all accept this. Doesn't mean though that Bitcoin can't one day reach a 6 or 7 figure price line.

Right on. Bitcoin as a world currency, considering the way it works now, is a pipe dream. One that would be neither feasible, nor useful, at least imo. A single currency implies association with a governing body. And only a global regulatory organization would allow this to happen and it probably wouldn't happen anyway since they wouldn't have much power over it, Bitcoin evolving in the same way it has so far. What we need to do in order to regain our freedom is create a multitude of currencies with various value conferring attributes (tied to a real-life usecase preferably) that would practically act as a safe net against censorship. This is a decent amount of years away, though.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY SHOULD YOU BOYCOTT ICOS THAT DEMAND KYC? on: May 12, 2018, 01:04:58 PM
I mean they're just covering themselves and playing it safe. I hate KYC as much as the next guy but it makes sense why they'd want to do it.

Yeah, I don't really feel comfortable giving out my private info to god knows who, but if ICOs are to become a mainstream investment tool, there will be no way around KYC anyways. I'd like information security to be something of primary interest to regulators. Abuses or hacks could potentially do a lot of damage to serial investors. At least one of the projects we invest is bound to cause private information leak.
56  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC falling like a rock on: May 11, 2018, 10:57:05 AM
Hello guys,

Does anybody know why BTC is falling like a rock within last hours?

If there any specific reason or just a normal correction?

Thanks and cheers.

Nobody knows what is the real reason of this DIP, one thing is fore sure. This ups and downs are normal and is expected because of its volatility.

This might be the cause of it: https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/05/11/south-koreas-largest-cryptocurrency-exchange-under-investigation-for-fraud/
The market is usually quite sensitive to bad news for exchanges (understandably so, given the past). Currently sitting in 4th place in terms of 24h volume, Upbit suddenly ceasing operations could potentially bring about the return of a bear market.

59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All Alt Coins are a scam. on: May 11, 2018, 10:29:52 AM
Well this is what the insightful Tone Vays claims...

He claims that ETH, DASH, shit 99.5% of all the ALTS are scams and the only coin that will survive is Bitcoin.

So l guess we should all sell our Alts now!

Bit late to the party, but I wanna give me insight as to why this is false, at least imo. I don't believe in only one single global currency. If you think about it, that's the very definition of centralization. If we are to revolutionize the way the financial system works today, we simply can't put our eggs in one basket. A basket that might one day be rendered useless by another basket. A newer, friendlier and overall better basket. We can see great improvements for crypto being made by other projects, improvements that could possibly not have been made for bitcoin or not desired.

Why not explore these avenues? Why not work together against the status quo and compete against each other in our backyard to see if we can come up with even better solutions? That's my take on it. We can't go all in on btc, we gotta give others a chance as well, for the sake of the tech and what it could do to change the world.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How much can you earn from signature campaigns? on: May 11, 2018, 10:00:49 AM
there are many ways to make money with bitcoin, trading can make you a lot more money and you do not need to have a high rank for that.

He seems rather newish, so telling him to straight into trading for profit is rather disingenuous. I remember losing a decent amount of money (mostly earned from airdrops and such) when attempting to day trade. Gave up, learned how to do TA and jumped back in again...only to realize that TA is generally worthless for pretty much anything other than bitcoin. My advice would be attempting to rank up (difficult, I know, so you get a merit from me, fellow countryman), understand how things work around here and then start jumping into signature and social media bounties. The money you make there I'd suggest investing in either btc or eth. Good luck.
