201  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies are not Scums.... Learning is a Process and it's progressive. on: January 05, 2024, 08:49:45 AM
I am a newbie (Beginner) on this forum...

Surprisingly Roll Eyes, anytime I mention newbie, I get attacked like Newbies are scums and shouldn't be here in the first place....

You better provide some proof if you actually have been bullied, quote the posts that attacked you because of you are a newbie in this forum. As far as I know most people in this forum is friendly, especially to newbie. Some members might be straight forward or offensive but that's only happened when there are some heated argument, they won't just bully a newbie for no reason.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFTs in the Real World on: January 05, 2024, 08:17:47 AM
NFTs have taken the digital world by storm.
After they've taken the world by storm, they've been also taken away by the storm in a split second.

LOL this is so true, most people who are still hyping NFT is people who already put much of their money onto NFT and hoping for new people to deposit more money so they can get their money back.

If the NFT community doesn't do significant improvement, NFT will eventually actually dead.

The best use for NFT is definitely in-game item trading, and to be honest there is not many usage of NFT in the real-world. However I think there is one usage for NFT that hasn't been much explored, it's for digital music streaming/owning. Currently the main industry for streaming is spotify which is actually not earn much profit from music for both Musician and the spotify itself (most of their profit are from podcast). I think NFT could fill this hole in streaming music industry with right formula.
203  Economy / Economics / Re: How is it possible to say there is no money in the bank on: January 05, 2024, 07:55:25 AM
In this recent economy we have witnessed some hardships financially and many other aspects now coming to say there is no money in the bank how possible is that can you imagine saying the river has no water? We are in the new year now huge sum of money have been signed by the government for projects but in a very short time they suddenly come out to say the country is running out of funds the country needs to borrow money from other countries the money signed in your own country where are they what is the duty of the bank in your country imagine a bank giving you the maximum amount you as a the account owner can withdraw from your own account sometimes I just feel like the bank isn't a safe place any more.
Come to think of it what if someone has a very serious score to settle for example someone who has health issue and needs money urgently then you go to the bank and they tell you there is no money in the bank for now so where does the bank want people to save their money if the bank at some times can be this disappointing should we go back to the system as at the old days where you bury your money or put them in your ceiling for safety please it's no joke anymore banks should try to be reliable as to gain trust from customers because many people are not comfortable with this system

In my lifetime, I haven't experience this kind of phenomena where I can't withdraw my money from the bank because they don't have enough money. It might be only happened to a country that experience hyperinflation and the economy is collapsing so people are withdrawing huge sum amount of money at once. It is not a secret that Bank loan our money, so other reason outside the hyperinflation is might be that our money is being loaned to their loaner.

205  Economy / Economics / Re: The Jim Cramer affect on Bitcoin.... on: January 04, 2024, 12:34:12 PM
LOL, I barely follow crypto influencer, and I don't know if there is such influencer like Jim Cramer who is a jinx-er. To be honest I haven't meet anyone who are considering influencer opinion when they want to act on the market. I know some people who are actively following and commenting on influencer post on twitter but they are just doing it for entertainment and mocking them.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will be the next hype in crypto? on: January 04, 2024, 08:41:29 AM
Looking at how many crypto suffer from scalability and fee problem, Bitcoin and Ethereum user mainly who are complaining about extremely high fee I think Layer 2 Blockchain that can solve this fee and scalability issue will gain more popularity. Bitcoin has lightning network and Ethereum has Arbitrum, there should be more project that have different approach for the solution for this issues.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin stability important? on: January 04, 2024, 08:22:04 AM
It's almost impossible for Bitcoin or any currency to has perfectly stable value, it will always volatile. What we need for Bitcoin to be considered as reliable currency is for it to have minimum volatility, currently it has quite high volatility Today the Year over Year of Bitcoin price chart has 153% increased, tho it's good for speculator, but this kind of volatility also means that there is a possibility that Bitcoin price could also decrease significantly.
209  Economy / Economics / Re: Crisis everywhere it's time to come together and unite on: January 03, 2024, 01:48:02 PM
Definitely not the solution. And who else would you expect OP to trust this new currency/token? I guess people will not trust but continue to doubt these new tokens that will arise in the market. Instead of trying to convince everyone with your own concept, why not maximize our engagement with bitcoin. This is the trend now so we should optimized making the best out from bitcoin.

And also, people may not buy your idea anymore on creating new currency for airdrop. The golden days for airdrops have vanish already.
It depends and there are still many people today who still trust new coins to generate profits in the short term and although fundamentally it may be quite risky to get involved in them. If someone doesn't want to be involved in much greater risks then the advice you give is quite wise, where people are better off focusing on investing in Bitcoin rather than putting their trust in new coins or airdrops.

This is true, doesn't matter how many new projects turns out to be scam, many people will still invest on new projects. I think it's because most of the people who are buying is speculators, they mainly buy crypto to gain profit of the increasing value, not because the utility or usage. All that being said, they keep doing that because they have good money management, and they are ready to lose their investment money. The problem will occur when someone who is fairly new to crypto (like OP, I am assuming because OP still a Jr. Member) following to invest in new project and they are not good with their money management and not ready to to lose their money.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to check if an altcoin is a scam on: January 03, 2024, 01:39:25 PM
For me, in term of new altcoins, any altcoins that are about to launch their project, I always consider those altcoins is scam until proven otherwise, even if their coin is already listed. All altcoin has a potential to end up into a rug pull. What I do is that I only invest the money that I can afford to lose.

Don't get me wrong tho, I still invest on altcoin, at least 15% of my portfolio is altcoins.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto and the Masses on: January 03, 2024, 04:01:57 AM
Cryptocurrencies have come a long way since the early days of Bitcoin and we are the early adopters of this remarkable technology.  But still the mass hasn't adopted blockchain technology or Cryptocurrencies. So, As you think, How can we bridge the gap between mainstream adoption and the complexities of blockchain technology? Share your thoughts on making crypto more accessible to the general public

As an idea that is extremely radical as Bitcoin, 14 years is actually not a long time, not to mention that in my opinion. Crypto only just actually booming worldwide after 2016 (CMIIW). I think the crypto community and enthusiast has been doing a good job in introducing and spreading word about Bitcoin. It's just that something new and radical like Bitcoin needs a long time for the general public to accept it, and to realize that this is what they need.

Even something like the Internet which a very useful and revolutionary which much less controversy and rejection needs more than 15 years to be accepted and applied globally.
212  Economy / Economics / Re: How influential is crypto worldwide? on: January 03, 2024, 03:49:38 AM
I wonder how large is the financial product Crypto as a whole.

Comparing just to the NY stock exchange can put a lot into perspective:

I believe that most of the financial cloud comes from the US, maybe also the EU.
Anyone having statistics from other parts of the world please let us know Wink

Coinweb says that the total number of crypto wallets worldwide is 84.02 million,  a significant portion of users from Europe and the U.S. That makes for 420+ million crypto users.

Quite a lot.

This is an interesting comparison which has some value, however realistically it needs to be compared against other currencies since that is what they are all claiming to be.

Actually only of all cryptos listed on the table, only Bitcoin, Tether, USD Coin, and Ripple was claiming to be a currency, other was a token that hold certain value based on the grow and development of it's project so it's not wrong to compare them with stocks. Not to mention that most of people who hold Bitcoin (and other cryptos) up until now still treat their crypto as speculative instrument.
213  Economy / Economics / Re: The steps to follow in creating a budget on: January 03, 2024, 03:38:32 AM

1. Determine your income: As the first step in creating a budget, you have to know your total income in terms of what you can afford.

The first point is only applied for people who has fixed salary/income, As a freelancer that doesn't have fixed income or salary for each month, what I do is fixing my spending. I dedicated certain amount of money for entertainment, lifestyle and anything that is not my basic needs, if not most of the time, this spending will be come uncontrollable.
214  Economy / Economics / Re: 2024 & Prediction of World War III - Effect on Cryptocurrencies on: December 31, 2023, 03:33:25 PM

Although we both agreed that even if there would be a World War III, participating countries will not be more than 6 going by previous wars but these countries will be economic powers that can/would ground economy of others countries depending on them. Hypothetically, say Russia, it might be difficult to pump oil to neighboring countries and other countries abroad that depend on them for their survival and might not be able to power countries including  Satellites and Base stations (BTS) to generate data. Without data, cryptocurrencies will be useless as there would be no trading of any sort for that period.

If the war only broke on one area either potentially Russia or Middle-East then maybe only 6 countries will participate, but if an open war happened in both area of Russia and Middle-East, I doubt there will be only 6 countries, it will be more, most of European Countries will be forcefully involve in the war, because they are squeezed by both northern and souther conflict.

Not only Bitcoin economic in general will be affected, and I think it will be worse than the last Bitcoin Bearish, or economic crisis caused by covid.
215  Economy / Economics / Re: First time? A company suing because people aren't buying its products!!! on: December 31, 2023, 03:25:37 PM
I have been told by many Israel supporters that these kind of Boycott is useless and has no effect at all, to the company or to Israel, but turns out it make some impact. Moreover, who will be sued for doing the BDS, it is a decentralized collective movement, no one is paying for those people to stop or boycotting any product, most of them aren't even encouraging/discouraging people to do the BDS, people are just stating that they are boycotting some products. That will be a very tough case to be brought into court.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will do to bank what Email did to post office on: December 31, 2023, 08:48:05 AM
That is a good analogy, but it will still be a long way to reach that point, not to mention that government will trying their best to prevent that situation to happen. Email can do that to post office because it's not decentralized, mostly it's not encrypted, same with the Post, Email are still controllable by government, that's why all government need to do was regulate and cooperating with email provider.

Bitcoin is different, it is encrypted, pseudonymous, except the user reveal their own identity, it's almost impossible for government to know their identity. Government also cannot demand any entity to let them intervene with Bitcoin because there is no central entity If government can't control it, they won't like it, they will do whatever they can't to prevent it to replace Bank and Fiat.
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I Too Broke To Own Bitcoin? on: December 31, 2023, 08:42:17 AM
Maybe you are rushing into investment, ask yourself first whether you are already able to fulfill your basic needs with your current income, if not, then are rushing into investment, you need to get better job with better salary, probably you will need to learn new skill or get better on your current job. When you get better salary and more income, don't climb the lifestyle ladder, stay humble, only then you can start invest, if you still have difficulty fulfilling your basic needs, your needs will force you to sell out your investment.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimon said he would close Bitcoin down if he was in government on: December 31, 2023, 08:38:13 AM
After telling the grandma Elizabeth Warren and the other legislators in the senate that he if he was the government he would close bitcoin down, JPMorgan is named an authorized participant for Blackrock's ETF.

This might be headshaking for some of you, however, this has shown who the real rulers are.

Wall Street titan BlackRock today amended its much talked about Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) filing and named banking giant JP Morgan Securities and trading firm Jane Street as authorized participants.

In the world of ETFs, an authorized participant is the organization that works with the issuer of the fund to create and redeem shares of a fund so that an investor can cash out.

This, according to experts, is likely the last step of the application process for the long-awaited product after various reviews and amendments.

This is the proof, it's not that they don't like Bitcoin, the thing is they don't like that they do not control Bitcoin, they are not the one who gain the most profit out of this Bitcoin speculation, when there is something suitable for them like Bitcoin ETH, they will jump into that immediately. All they need is the control, they want to control people's fund, doesn't matter wether it's stock, REIT, or crypto.
219  Other / Archival / Re: Generational wealth on: December 31, 2023, 12:25:17 AM
Since you have been taking the professional path as pharmacist, my first advice is that your main focus should be the advancement of your career, getting higher salary. Do that until you can get comfortable with your life, and while doing that if you have spare money you could invest in anything that you believe, Bitcoin is good since you already are in this forum. When you reach the position where you can save more money, start making a plan to make you own Pharmacy, your generational wealth will come from your own Pharmacy business, and your investment could be the boost for your retirement.

Of course my advice is oversimplification and sound easy, we all know that doing all of those will be very difficult, but it is doable.
220  Economy / Economics / Re: SBF-Denies Improper use of Customer Funds in a 1 on 1 Interview on: December 31, 2023, 12:14:31 AM
He won't do it. He'll want to wait for the verdict first and this will take at least a year. Then, if he gets 30 years or more, there's a chance he'll do it.

For a young guy, getting out at his 60s or 70s is like a death sentence, especially that he's a weak looking guy. If he got into a prison camp he might survive, but in a normal federal prison he won't make it with all those street thugs around. He'll end up as someone's girlfriend.

Should we care about him? It wasn't a mistake that he made. It was years of stealing before he got caught. He knew what he was doing.
I'd be more willing to release Ross than SBF and Ross is in for life.

LOL.. do you really think that this guy will spend more than a few weeks behind bars? He made hundreds of millions of USD worth of donations to various political causes (the vast majority of which went to the Democrat Party), and his parents are very rich and influential. He may get sentenced to a lengthy jail term, but I don't think that he will serve more than 1% of that time in a proper prison. Ross Ulbricht's case was different. He was from the other extreme of the political prism and he went against the system. You can't compare Sam Bankman Fraud to Ross Ulbricht.

Do you really think that Democrat or any political party will risk their vote for just one man, more than that that, SBF has lost all of his leverage. Not to mention that next year is election year. I don't know whether the general public is paying attention to the FTX case, but Democrat will definitely seize every vote they can get, and getting involved with SBF at this time is bad decision, they will always get another donor.
