301  Economy / Economics / Re: Sea Piracy, it's effect on the local economy on: December 13, 2023, 09:00:24 AM
Piracy cannot be the sole option for personal economic growth unless it significantly contributes to the economy of these countries.

Even if piracy significantly contributes to a country's economy, I don't think the country should just take and support those piracy, that is highly unethical. More than that, if any country took advantage of a piracy in their sea jurisdiction it will give bad influence on the international  relationship with other countries.
302  Local / Ekonomi, Politik, dan Budaya / Re: Ganja aceh adalah yang terbaik di dunia, kenapa tidak di exspor aja? on: December 13, 2023, 12:54:56 AM
Sulit sepertinya kalau cuma mau mengekspor tanpa mau memasarkan produknya dididalam negeri.

303  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Alternatif Forum Untuk Kampanye Mixer on: December 13, 2023, 12:36:22 AM

304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is wiser? on: December 13, 2023, 12:07:59 AM
At the current market condition and having bull run in mind, these persons have $10,000 to invest.

  • Mr. Bob goes 100% with bitcoin.
  • Miss Alice goes 50% bitcoin and 50% random altcoins.
  • Mr. theymos goes with bitcoin but $100 weekly DCA.

I wouldn't be able to guarantee that this is the most profitable method, but If I have $10,000 just laying round and all my needs is fulfilled, then I would go with Miss Alice, 50% on Bitcoin and 50% for random altcoins, or I could change the proportion like 70% bitcoin and 30% split in some altcoins. I won't go with Bob because I like my portfolio diversified, and I only do DCA if the funds comes from my monthly salary, but if I have some big money laying around I just invest it all at once.
305  Economy / Economics / Re: strange indicators to know economy is bad on: December 10, 2023, 09:55:01 AM
~
but here are indicators to confirm we really are in an economic downturn.
~

Is all of these real studies? I am giggling just by reading this LOL. I know the price of Oil and basic goods will raise because of the inflation and other stuff, but determining the economic condition by Boobs Job, Diaper, and Men Haircut sounds so comedic. I really wish to read more about this theory if you care to share the literatures.
306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What should new cryptocurrency users do first?🙏🙏🙏 on: December 10, 2023, 09:09:12 AM
They should learn the most basic thing about crypto, like how crypto wallet works, how the transaction works, and how to safe their funds securely. I would recommend anyone who new to crypto to create their own non-custodial wallet, I know a lot of people who already have hundreds of dollars worth of crypto and all they use is exchange wallet, I don't think thats very secure. I didn't mean that using exchange is completely prohibited, but if they want to build up their portfolio and it's gonna have huge fund, getting non-custodial wallet instead of exchange wallet is essential.
307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin feels like a Western-type Democracy... on: December 09, 2023, 10:40:12 PM

BTC is kinda the same... you can flood the network with monkey jpegs and nobody can do anything about it, because there's this expectation of zero censorship.

You definitely can't distinguish between Bitcoin and Altcoins (Cryptocurrency), there is no monkey jpegs in BTC even tho Bitcoin blockchain can be used to make NFT, but most of the time it was used for .btc domain. Bitcoin is very different with any democracy that exist today, most of the democracy nowadays are still very centralized all the policies executed and made by central entity, this means that all the policies need to secure the interest of the entity, while bitcoin is ture decentralized everything that is happened and is going to happened is because the market and community. What you are describing is centralized altcoin and we know most of the bitcoin enthusiast is against that centralization used of blockchain
308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Selling All Fiat In Bank For BTC? on: December 09, 2023, 10:26:01 PM
So I have heard a lot of people say this.  Such that they are going to withdraw all of their money from the bank and buy BTC.  And things like will sell their car and house and possessions and all that to buy btc.  Many say they will do this and be all in with BTC so to speak.

I have never heard anyone would swap all of their fiat into BTC even when they believe in Bitcoin so much, they would still have some cash in Bank. If you truly heard that a lot, and you hear it from your friendship circle I suggest you to just stay away and get another friends, they are either liar or crazy both are bad things.

I didn't meant that Bitcoin is not a good investment, it's very good, but even, people would put all of their money into one investment asset.
309  Economy / Economics / Re: GDP is not really growth index or representation of economy on: December 09, 2023, 10:20:32 PM
Tho I agree that most countries with highest GDP don't have more advance society than the other with lowest GDP, but I still think that GDP can be used to judge how much has the countries' economic is growing. The keyword is growing, because the economic is still growing it hasn't reach the peak point, and the higher the economic level the harder it gets to grow just like other thing, so it's easier for lower economic to have high GDP, compared to countries that already has high level economy.
310  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a correlation between liquidity and volatility? on: December 09, 2023, 10:14:44 PM
I agree with the saying that the higher the liquidity, the higher the volatility.

I tend to disagree with this, I think it's the opposite Higher Liquidity usually result in Lower Volatility, with more buyers and sellers, creating more tighter price gap in the order book, meaning the price movement will be less compared to lower liquidity when the price of order book will usually broader. But it also will depends on how decentralized those liquidity were, if the assets have high liquidity but it was owned by small amount of people, I think it will also have different effect.
311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if your country did not legalize cryptocurrency? on: December 08, 2023, 12:03:50 PM
Fortunately my country legalized Bitcoin tho is not a legal tender, now if my country never legalize Bitcoin I would still find a way to use it, since I need a currency for international cash transfer, I would find some way around to use Bitcoin, but I would not invest in it, I will immediately exchange it to local fiat in here.
You wouldn't be able to easily use or convert your Bitcoins to local fiat if the government decides to illegalize the cryptocurrency within the country and creates strict laws against those who are involved and are using the cryptocurrency within the country because you can't hide it if you are going to use your financial accounts to receive the cash that you are getting for selling your Bitcoins and authorities can easily trace where your payment is coming from and what it is for.

So, one can get in trouble if they use something that is banned or illegal within their country, especially if the government is strictly against its usage. Therefore, you might think that it won't be that difficult but it's not that easy as well and you can get in trouble any time if you do that and if authorities come to know about it.

Well, if that happened, I still can exchange my crypto into PayPal and then send the fund from PayPal to my Bank Account. Tho I agree that this is a workaround and it will cost more fee. And I doubt they can tie me to any illegal activity if I already swap my crypto into PayPal fund.
312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Niger State Government About To Adopt Bitcoin As A Trade Subject on: December 08, 2023, 11:50:42 AM
Hey guys!

I was so elated to receive a call from the SSG (Secretary to the State Government) of Niger State almost a week ago after we've all waited anxiously for a response from the state government following the letter we submitted two months ago about "Introducing The Bitcoin Technology Into Our Secondary Schools Curriculum as a Trade Subject".

Congratulations, that's a very good news, tho I believe there will some tricky stuff when a government adopt cryptocurrency, they will need to make a suitable policy that can both cover the interest of crypto enthusiast and common people. I mean that the policy should not too strict for crypto enthusiast to actually 'enjoying' their crypto, and not too loose for common people to fall into crypto scam.

I wouldn't have known that you were referring to a Nigerian state if not for the image attached, and you might still want to let the body of the

Niger and Nigeria is not the same country, if OP wrote Niger and what he meant is Nigeria then he is wrong, Niger is a whole different country not Nigeria.
313  Economy / Economics / Re: Flash Mob Theft -> closure of brick and mortar stores -it's economic impact? on: December 08, 2023, 10:57:55 AM
I saw several viral showing this Mob Theft on twitter, I even saw some business putting chain on their product. This has happened in my country back in the late 1990's, but the main reason is because the monetary crisis and everybody suffer, I don't know how the current economic condition in the US, but if the economic is not that bad and people are doing this for no emergency reason then there must be something very wrong in the grass-root society, and not government's mistake.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum price before Christmas on: December 08, 2023, 04:11:04 AM
Looking back on the previous years, Christmas and New Year has always bring bearish trend to the market, people are cashing out their investment to be prepared for holiday and vacation. So, if my portfolio is currently red, I usually wouldn't expect any green until at least february/march next year.
But all that being said, you might still get some hope because recently market show some positive trend, tho we never know when it will bounch back down, just don't get your hopes too high.
315  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID is dead, "long live the new COVID". World economy get ready? on: December 08, 2023, 04:06:31 AM
Unfortunately this Pneumonia outbreak has spread to several countries in Asia, and the worse news is that Covid Case in Singapore is spiking again last week, with currently bad geopolitic condition in the west & middle east, if we got another pandemic even in smaller scale than the last Covid, the global economy will be much worse than 2020 and I strongly believe that it will be much much harder to recover from that.
316  Economy / Economics / Re: On retirement on: December 08, 2023, 03:53:33 AM
I don't know how's life in other country but in here where I live, nowadays I don't think retirement is still that much relevant. I could divide people into two groups, the first one is people who doesn't has many option for their job just took any job, most of the time low-paying job, they most likely hate their job, but they can't afford retirement because there is no money left from their salary to be saved. The other group is people who are people who can get the job that they like and they keep working even after the age of retirement, even after they quit their job they still working sometimes as a consultant, even tho they can afford retirement they do not completely retired.
317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking to sell a computer to raise money to invest in Bitcoin. on: December 07, 2023, 04:03:12 PM
If when I was your age, on  my nineteen and I got $600 computer (I believe it's not an entry level pc) I would learn some skills that could get me a part-time/freelance job with some decent payment. After that I would spare some of my earned money to invest in Bitcoin. 19 is a very you age, I don't say invest in Bitcoin is wrong at this age, but investing in skills would be far more profitable at this age.
318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHY PEOPLE ARE NOT TAKING THEIR PRIVACY SERIOUSLY. on: December 07, 2023, 03:58:07 PM

an average Joe who lives paycheck to paycheck doesn't take it seriously because even if someone finds their identity they have nothing to lose from there.

This one is I think the most plausible reason, people who doesn't have anything to lose wouldn't even care if their identity or bank account were exposed, that's the least they need to worry. And I think we all can agree that most of the population is an average Joe who has more think to be worried about than just their privacy. I am telling the truth when I say that I know some people who even sell their ID to get our one week salary, and some people verifying exchange account with their ID to just get small bonus. What I meant to say is that They aren't taking their privacy seriously, because there are more serious problem than just their privacy
319  Economy / Economics / Re: World is full of things what nobody dont need just too much on: December 07, 2023, 03:36:43 PM
Well, most of the time, when someone invented something new most people think they don't need it, Internet, Blockchain, there are so many people skeptical about those, yet as the time goes by, we can't live without Internet, and now we shill blockchain. Other thing is that factory and producer don't just produce a product that people don't buy, the reason why they keep producing those suppose to be 'a product that nobody needs' is because people keep buying. And about the luxury goods, most of those luxury goods become luxury are because they are rare, if you compare the amount of those luxury product vs the non-luxury products you will realize that non-luxury product is dominating the market. Let's just say that there are 1 Lambo for every 20-50 Toyota Cars maybe more.
320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulatory Ease Accelerate Bitcoin Adoption In Milei’s Argentina on: December 06, 2023, 03:48:10 PM
So, in short, on his campaign to win election he promise that he want to eliminate the central bank and then adopt cryptocurrency, but now when he actually win the election he thought that cryptocurrency doesn't have asset value. Well, this is just a typical politician move, they will promise anything that the voter want to hear, but most of the time they never keep their promise. I understand that disbanding central bank and adopting Bitcoin is very radical and significant move, it will be very hard to be applied, but if he doesn't want to do it, he shouldn't promise this thing in the first place.
