241  Economy / Economics / Re: Why must you used such money to purchased a car? on: December 27, 2023, 10:03:12 PM

But how can someone at the age of 20 years used $28 millions to purchased a car that is not going to bring income to he, when we have some decentralized investment you can invest such amount of money in the bear season and have hope of making more money that will reach you to start other business that will be fetching you cool money.

I really doubt that average 20 years old youths are in possession of 28 millions to be spent on a car, most of them by used car that only cost about $25.000. The small portion of 20 years old who own $28 million must be having billions of dollars to be spent on an investment like bitcoin and other so, if $28 is only 1% of his wealth and he use it to buy car, I don't think that's problem either.
242  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 27, 2023, 02:42:12 PM
It's not enough having an investment plan, knowing the right choice to make for every investment defines the investor better. Take for example jumping on every new coin we find on reputable exchange might not be enough guarantee that coin will do well in the future.

Well, in my point of view, investment choice is still part of the investment plan. Investment plan is not as simple as how much money we want to invest, it's also include how we enter the market, how do we diversify our portfolio, and also the choice of our investment assets. Investment plan is enough if the investment plan is complete and comprehensive
243  Economy / Economics / Re: Will they ever be able to afford a house? on: December 27, 2023, 02:35:13 PM
I haven't seen anyone post the table that is made by OP,

Let's study the case of an average representative Gen Z and X. What is important or missing in the description (linked below)? What would you advise?

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vRXBY1HDRX9R555CtDvJ31uYbXBHuVlGSfdGOT3JtzAnwR4gms2Ltqgx9K5EhYAg8WA0uk-knhVHB3o/pubhtml

So here it is,

First thing first actually on the 80's people many people's are already going to the Universities, and there are a lot of jobs that are also required better degree or certification, just like nowadays there are many jobs that are also has lower entry point. The only different is the Real Estate price, people are hoarding houses, while the land area is not growing the population has growth and it's crowded together in certain area, this was utilized by housing speculators to hoard houses in the area and increasing the housing market price.

Now the question wether later generation could afford a house is depends on wether they want to buy a house far away from big city, that has cheaper price?
244  Economy / Economics / Re: Sometimes tips the securities at the mall or local shops on: December 27, 2023, 02:15:42 PM
Tipping is heavily depends on the cultural and societal norm of each region. In my country tipping is not always welcomed, some place/company have strict rules that forbid their employee to received tips. I never tip except there is a specific encouragement to tip, or the place/business are providing some features/tip jar for me to give the tip. In term of securities, it's not pretty common to give them tip, except in certain occasion that we need some serious help from them.

246  Local / Ekonomi, Politik, dan Budaya / Re: Jusuf kala resmi dukung anis apa efeknya on: December 24, 2023, 10:08:38 PM

247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin will bring you hope and gambling will leave you destitute. on: December 24, 2023, 10:00:40 PM

If the person I am referring to had not gambled in online casinos and invested this amount of money in bitcoins, he would have made a substantial half profit today, even after paying off his debts.  If he had bought 1 BTC and sold it now when the price of Bitcoin was twenty thousand dollars, he would have made a profit of about 25K dollars even though he had paid a loan of 18K dollars. The reason for sharing this incident of my local elder brother is to warn users about the dangers of gambling.

This crisis of online gambling is also a big issue in my country, most of people who do online gambling is the low-middle income class who think they could get rick quickly by gambling, and that is very wrong take of gambling. And in my opinion that is individual fault, not gambling fault as activity, gambling is supposed to be an entertainment.

Comparing Gambling and Investing in the first place is non-sense, investment is stressful a lot of research and learning, while gambling is supposed to fun and entertaining. Investing goal is to gain profit and growing assets, while gambling goal is just to get entertained and excitement. People should understand that, and be responsible for doing any of those. If one is investing then he could expect to grow the assets and get rich but should do more research and learn about his investment, if one is gambling he shouldn't expect to be rich, while he can expect to be entertained and have fun.
248  Local / Ekonomi, Politik, dan Budaya / Re: Tiktok Shop dibuka kembali on: December 24, 2023, 09:33:16 PM

249  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is merit necessary for my survival here on: December 24, 2023, 09:24:18 PM
Greetings everyone!

I really want to know if merit is necessary in other to secure my account, my friend who introduced this site to me said, I must have merit

Please how do I get this merit and how is it important.

Merit is never necessary, you don't need merit to join the discussion and learn in this forum which is what the forum wants for its users. But if you want the extra benefit, you want to rank up, be respected, start a business, or earn some money, then you will definitely need some merits. I think many people will give the same advice that you don't need to think about it too much, just do good discussion and contribute merit will follow, and if at the end of the day you don't get any merit you can still learn from this forum.
250  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Bitcointalk Sekarang ada OTP -2FA on: December 24, 2023, 09:19:42 PM

251  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk vs. YouTube from an educational viewpoint on: December 24, 2023, 08:03:47 AM
No one should choose between Bitcointalk or Youtub eto learn about crypto, everyone can learn from both, and many more other places. Not everyone like to learn by reading, other might prefer videos for learning, and that's when Youtube come along. While Bitcointalk give more space for more social interaction between crypto enthusiast with more deep discussion. You don't need to compare it or eliminate one for the other just use both.
252  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your take on this? on: December 24, 2023, 08:01:14 AM
I think that is definitely an improvement, I also think that Nigeria is doing the right thing for banning Crypto for a couple of years, if they need sometimes to finally understand how to fully protect their people from fraud and scam that is using cyrpto. Now with the lift of ban, what Nigerian people should oversee is the policies that will be imposed to cryptocurrency, will this policies be in favor of the people or just for big money speculators, or the government.
253  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the us dollar might crash significantly on: December 24, 2023, 07:56:41 AM
If Biden executive were losing vote to fund Ukraine in the House of Representative, moving on to using the frozen Russian assets around European Bank is not the solution. I doubt those Europe Banks will allow it, they wouldn't want to lose their trust and reputation. And not only that, if U.S is actually doing it, it will give another country to do the same thing with any countries that is not in their favor. It will be going back and forth, and keep getting worse.
254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Selling All Cryptocurrency for Fiat and Earning Interest? on: December 24, 2023, 07:44:05 AM

Shouldn't the goal at the end be have cash in the bank so you could invest it?

I don't think that's generally true for most people, their goal to have cash on the bank is so that when they need money they can use saving. For most people using their life saving for something that is as risky as investment is just nonsense. Some people could have another goal like growing their networth, but it's not always investment, or crypto investment. Just need to understand that everyone think differently.
255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Judge orders Craig Wright to pay over $1M on: December 24, 2023, 02:02:47 AM

That is the screenshot of the first paragraph on the articles provided by OP. This phrase is ridiculous 'The legal battle over Satoshi Nakamoto’s identity and Bitcoin rights'. Why would someone battling over to be recognized as Satoshi, they will get more problem than profit, and the real Satoshi knows that, that's why they choose to become anonymous, and the right for Bitcoin, what will they get by getting right to Bitcoin, it's a decentralized anyway.
256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don’t think bitcoin is now decentralized on: December 24, 2023, 01:57:40 AM
About 20+ days ago ,I sent a transaction with 5000sats fee.

20+ !

It hasn’t been confirmed yet!

Ok to pay more ,confirmed faster.

But isn’t it ok for pay less confirm slower?

The miners are too centralized, and a lot of dust trans was made every day.

From A to A with high fee rate! Why does this transaction exist?

I don’t think a normal man would make such a nonsense transaction.

That's a very wrong understanding on how Bitcoin transaction and decentralization work. The risk of high-fee when transaction amount is sky-rocketing is the risk of decentralization. More people want their transaction proceed so they are competing to raise the fee, miners is not the one who raised the fee, people who are transacting bitcoin are the one that raised the fee and the miners is happily benefiting from this issue. We all know why the transaction fee is skyrocketing, the network is bloated with all those ordinals and BRC-20, and no one/nothing interfere if this is what the most people want to do with bitcoin blockchain, that is because there is no central entity.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana Leapfrogs XRP as Fifth-Largest Crypto on: December 24, 2023, 01:42:31 AM
I think that is expected by everyone, Solana has been very popular with the raise of DeFi and NFT, and XRP never do any improvement to make them stay relevant in the fast paced crypto speculators market. With all many features that has been emerge in Altcoins scene, XRP keep focusing on just being a payment option, while payment option needs customer trust, the community never have a good view of them because Ripple own significant amount of XRP. That's why they keep losing investors.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin miners extorting people that are making transaction? on: December 21, 2023, 10:14:42 PM
Miners never force people to increase the fee, it's their decision to increase the fee because they wanted their transaction to be processed early. Bitcoin is a decentralized network, thus it act like a free-market. When the number of Bitcoin transactions is through the roof, miners service to verify those transaction will have more demand than supply, and that will increase miners fee.

What I don't understand is why people keep complaining about high fees in Bitcoin when we can use other alternative (altcoins)? are people can't really wait for few weeks or months? does 100% of their money are invested in Bitcoin?

Miners aren't extorting people to spend money for transaction fees, it was created by demand, if you don't mind to pay $30 then do it, if you don't want to pay $10, cool down and wait until the mempool less congested.

There are several possible reason for this, first one could be because the person who received the fund demands bitcoin, sender could only send Bitcoin. The second is that sender aren't holding enough altcoins to make the payment because it's high-risk to hold much altcoins. Other reason is that probably their altcoin were considered as investment and not for payment purposes.

259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Whole Concept of Bitcoin is Failing! on: December 21, 2023, 10:05:44 PM
To be honest, in my opinion we were never be in the state where Bitcoin original concept that was proposed as Currency. Until now the majority of Bitcoin holder is a speculators who consider Bitcoin as an investment, not currency. I dare to say that they barely spend 1mSat or $1 worth of Bitcoin monthly. So it is not failing if this concept were never established in the first place.

But I do agree that this ordinals is making it worse, now they use Bitcoin Blockchain as if like it is a launchpad platform, and occupying the blockchain node that were supposed to be use for BTC transaction as currency.
260  Economy / Economics / Re: Setting up financial structures before going into the family way on: December 21, 2023, 09:57:55 PM
From my experience talking and socializing with younger generation, like Gen-Z and Late Millennials, people who were born later than 1990's, they were more aware of financial requirements when they want to married. They tend to delay their marriage until they have enough saving to buy a small home/apartments, most of them aren't even having relationship until they got a stable job.

I not from Asia, and the previous generation were married young, but I guess that's understandable because the economic situation is less complex, and I am glad that most youth are aware of the economic uncertainty before they decide to start a family.
