401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hal Finney was not Satosi Nakamoto on: October 22, 2023, 09:55:39 PM
Just read the article and the proof is undeniable, tho to be honest I never think that Hal Finney was Satoshi. But I tend to disagree to the author when he said he is sure that Satoshi is a single person, the only proof is a active schedule, but that same daily schedule could also mean that they work in the same office hours.

I honestly feel this CW drama is a setup by the enforcement agencies to lure the actual Satoshi out.

I never think it this way but this could be a possibility,
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top Crypto Execs Confident SEC Will Approve Spot Bitcoin ETFs on: October 22, 2023, 11:17:08 AM
These people have absolutely no idea whats going to happen and they have as much information as we do, they are not going to know anything more than we do and if you trust them and make a decision based on what they say, then you are going to be let down. Just look at the tattoo and you will understand what I mean. Whatever you do, always check the information news, not speculation news, some of the news would be more like "FED has increased the interest rates x point more" and that's information, thats data and you should be considering that important, and some of them will be like "warren buffet said bitcoin is a scam", and thats not information, thats opinion, ignore those.

That is exactly my first thought on previous supposedly information from other High Profile like CEO / Founder of any company. On the contrary if they actually has an insider information I doubt they would bother to share it, they would use it for their own interest. Just like what they do when they share their 'information', they just want to get attention or else they want to increase their own company stock price by saying their ETF is going to be approved by SEC.
403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you prepare for a Bitcoin bull run? on: October 22, 2023, 11:10:21 AM
More than half of this post is a chart and price speculation, so I think probably this thread should be moved to speculation. And as for 'prepare for Bitcoin bull run' I thought the discussion will be about should we buy more bitcoin immediately start from today, or should we wait until we actually see an obvious and significant bull run?

Currently I still wait for a significant bull run (the price jump right now is not included imho), but I really want to hear from others.
404  Economy / Economics / Re: Bangladesh economy facing headwinds on: October 22, 2023, 10:57:49 AM

I think that's happened in a lot of developing country, in one side opposition is good to watch the winning parties so that they are not corrupt, and don't do stupid thing. But on the other hand, they hinder the country development by denying all the good programs and idea by the winning side, even when the table turns on the next election, they prefer to start a similar project from zero rather than continuing the good project created by their opponent.

Not sure what happened to many of these governments. My country is also doing this shitty system, we have to undergo all these elections every cycle and we have to vote for all these politicians but do nothing on their terms.

If I have all the power. I'd import Xijingping into my country and let him do all the stuff and his fellow men over here and citizen can mind their own business while the government build all the things they can do without opposition to stop them. Since the time we got independence, we have spent more $funds on elections than building bridges to connect lands divided by rivers.

Bangladesh is supposedly a rich country with access to rivers and seas and all other resources from neighboring countries like India and Pakistan. They only need to cooperate with these countries.

Lol, don't wish something that you might regret man, tho I do agree that China's current government has develop their country very well but that kind of strict government come with a price, you will be monitored 24/7 online and offline. Not to mention that one of their way to develop their country is by giving a debt trap to other country, (probably bangladesh happened to be one of the country).
405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin for everyone? on: October 22, 2023, 07:25:13 AM
I am asking this because not everyone has made tangible profit for holding. Just like myself I end up selling at a loss most times just to solve a problem. Some might be lucky to buy at a low rate and within few weeks or months the price just pumps to their favour. This kept me wondering if Bitcoin is actually for every one or it is a scheme for selected individuals..

Bitcoin was originally made for everybody, it is not like a fiat currency that is limited by countries and state border, however not anyone want to learn new things because new technology is risky and not everyone want to take risk. Other than than those reasons, not everyone has access to technology that can support them to own bitcoin like internet and computer, believe it or not in this very digital and modern era, there are some people that still have difficulty to get access to technology.
406  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Importance of emotion while trading on: October 22, 2023, 07:19:49 AM

Here are some ways to control these emotions:

3. Avoid revisiting a coin after investing. You place a sell order with a specific target.

You made a big mistake here when you can't distinguish between trading and investing, and I don't think it's merely a typo because you said mention there that we should avoid revising coin, and just place sell order, whereas if you do trading instead of investing you should really watch the market and also watch your order, even when you place a sell stop order you will need to reconsider the number and change strategy if there are a news update, you will need to visit your trading pairs frequently.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Currency nature of Bitcoin on: October 22, 2023, 07:05:16 AM

After all, Bitcoin network suffers from scalability issues and high transaction fees, leading many to believe that Bitcoin is more of a store of value than an alternative form of cash. With Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, we're faced with a more futuristic form of money

You made a good point, especially about the scalability and fee issue. But all of them is not unfixable, even though bitcoin was invented 12 years ago bitcoin mainstream adoption has only been made significant improve for a few years back and it hasn't stop. And with more adoption, the community will find a way to resolve the scalability and fee problem, currently we already have lightning network and SegWit, I am confident that we will solve all major technical issue, what I am more afraid of is the political problem that might obstruct bitcoin way for more global adoption.
408  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help this time with a personal situation on: October 21, 2023, 02:13:47 PM
so here my monthly salary is about 3,500 Cuban pesos, which is equivalent to 12 dollars approximately,

Seems like you miss calculate the conversion of Cuban Peso to USD, according to google, 3500 is not $12, its around $146,

I work as a doctor or I used to,

Eventho I still think that salary is still quite low for a doctor, but $146 would still be enough to survive, but $12 is just not humane. Because you already has experience as doctor, I think the best option could be pursue your career as doctor, and save some money to get better degree and certification as medical specialist. Since you ask this question this forum so I assume you already know about crypto and Bitcoin, you could spare some of your salary to buy Bitcoin.
409  Economy / Economics / Re: Bangladesh economy facing headwinds on: October 21, 2023, 08:56:39 AM
They are independent country though. And most countries today seem to be struggling.

One problem always is somewhat to be blamed in a country that has been struggling for years like Bangladesh is the government with 2 parties that do nothing but stopping each others project depending on who is seated in the presidency.

One government party will allow projects stand for long term to which they can expect a project will be completed since there is no opposition.
Mate, that's also what's happening here in our country. There's the opposition and the administration party and together with their alliances. It's always the disagreement and agreement from these political parties. And IMHO, that's what makes the progress of our country slow when there's always the disagreement and time is consumed from all of these debates from both parties. I think that debt also plays a big part, on what I've seen, the chart for Bangladesh's debt is on an uptrend til' 2028 based on statista.com.

410  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Experience is key, go for it. on: October 21, 2023, 08:44:35 AM
Tho I do agree on some degree, I wouldn't suggest any newbie to just 'go for it' without enough knowledge and information, except if you have a lot of fund to be used as experiment. Speaking from experience, I don't start with a lot of fund, I would recommend anyone who want to do Bitcoin trading or mining to learn the very details, it's ok to learn a little bit longer before you actually experience trading or mining. In that way you might minimize the risk of losing your money.
411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hey Bitcoiners Choose Simplicity Over Complex Technicalities on: October 21, 2023, 08:37:20 AM
As a Bitcoin enthusiast, I want to say briefly that you shouldn't sacrifice simplicity for technicality.

You missed the most important aspect of this topics, Security. I do agree that I tend to choose wallet which more simple, but I wouldn't sacrifice the Security.

You are more likely to lose your bitcoins because of too much technicality than to scammers or hackers. An example of keeping things simple is that instead of storing your Bitcoin in a multi signature wallet that you do not understand how it works or have no experience in setting up, store your Bitcoin in a soft like Electrum wallet where the process of setting up is pretty straight forward.

There is a solution if you don't want to learn the complex technicality, and that is Hardware Wallet. It's very straight forward, you invest your money to protect your fund with better security. If you don't want to invest your money at least you should invest your time to learn more about the security so you can minimize the possibility of your fund get stolen.

Don't get me wrong, I also simple Electrum wallet, and sometimes even Exchange wallet, but only on the case that I need the fund to be quickly transferred or exchanged. But for the fund that you hodl, hadrware wallet is the way.
412  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What if the internet permanently shuts down on: October 20, 2023, 10:36:29 PM
Currently there is no possible reason for the internet to be permanently shut down, there are so many backup power and backup infrastructure to prevent the Internet to be completely shutdown. The only reason that I could think is a global catastrophe that happened because of natural disaster, something that no one could avoid or anticipate, but at that moment no one would think of internet, people would just panic and find anyway to just survive.
413  Economy / Economics / Re: Isreal and Palestine war and losing your wallet phrase and password on: October 20, 2023, 10:08:28 PM
To be honest if I was in the middle of war like in Israel Palestine conflict, I think wouldn't even think about my investment, I would just run and try to survive. But since OP made this discussion, maybe if there is a warning before the actual war break out, I would write my seed phrase put it in a stainless steel tube and then I run out of the country.
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever feel tired of waiting? on: October 20, 2023, 09:57:23 PM
Not really, I have other stuff to do so waiting is like a normal thing for me especially in trading and investment scene. I have a kraken wallet with Bitcoin in there and pretty sure I was planning to hold it until few years later and at that point I totally forgot about that account lol.
Until recently I went back to check my savings on Kraken and got greeted by a huge amount of profit because of just that forgotten account.

If I keep waiting and wait until I reach X profit then I would probably be bored and has an urge to withdraw some when the time calls it, but with the trick of just forget about it if you are really into hold term investment while keeping your credentials safe then it's way better for me to do, people would have different opinion regarding this though.

Yes, thats what I feel too and I think most of us who are hodling the Bitcoin is never waiting, not like we are checking the value of our Bitcoin like every minutes or everyday anxiously. I just buy bitcoin put it in my wallet and left it there, I only check my portfolio if there is a huge price movement, to check how much have I lost or gain in percentage. I still check frequently check Bitcoin price tho, but if there is no significant price movement I wouldn't check my portfolio.
415  Economy / Economics / Re: Cracking the Code of Saving Money... on: October 20, 2023, 02:14:55 AM
-snip-
Share your ideas, tips, and stories about saving money, and together, we can figure out how to get better at it. (We will also draw valuable lessons from the mistakes and experiences of others.)

Start by making a monthly budget and enlist every little expense. Make a list of essential commodities and things that can be considered a luxury. Spend less than your earnings. Increase the sources of income by investing in stocks, bitcoin, real estate and liquid assets. Prefer to eat food at home and limit your visits to restaurants. Live in a low-maintenance apartment and travel using public transport. Don't buy an expensive cell phone or a home appliance.
All these things will take time and continuous effort, but in the end, you will have ample savings.

This is actually the most effective way for me, I need to know where my money goes. Only after that I can analyze which of my expense I could reduce and turn it into saving. I think one of the main reason is because I work freelance and I don't have fixed income, so since I can't control my income then I need to control my expense, this way I could spare some of my income to turn into saving.
416  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the fall of Elon Musk's empire imminent? on: October 20, 2023, 02:00:45 AM
Just read that Tesla stock is going down because Musk said that Cybertruck production isn't going to be speed up, and investors doesn't like that, https://www.wsj.com/livecoverage/stock-market-news-today-10-19-2023/card/tesla-stock-falls-after-elon-musk-tempers-expectations-for-cybertruck-XuuwCPq1IcHJpJdUfASk

But in general I don't think Musks Companies, all of them will go bankrupt anytime soon. He has so many companies, not only the famous ones like Twitter, SpaceX, and Tesla, he also has OpenAI, Neuralink, etc. Most of them has survive the pandemic and economic downturn. He might sell one or two of his companies, but I doubt he will sell all of them.
417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is different from other means of investment on: October 20, 2023, 01:38:19 AM
~

One advantage of real estate that we also need to mention is that it can even bring us passive income, something not all assets can do. If you own real estate, you can rent it out short or long term and you will receive a monthly income stream without losing full ownership of your land. To be fair, bitcoin and real estate are both assets worth investing in and holding for anyone. But saying that bitcoin is better than real estate in every way is a bias against bitcoin.

I do agree that Bitcoin as investment is not better than Real Estate, at least for now, because Bitcoin is extremely volatile and harder to predict compared to Real-Estate investment. But all that being said, Real Estate also has it downside, there are more risk on real estate, more of the time related to the tennant, if the tenant is bad the maintenance fee for the real estate could reduce the profit, not to mention other force majeur risk like fire and natural disaster. While Bitcoin is free of all those kind of risks.
418  Economy / Economics / Re: SEC approves BlackRock's spot bitcoin ETF on: October 19, 2023, 10:25:54 PM
Just googled the news and the top result is WSJ article denying the rumors, . Not only that one but many other articles also denying the rumor. I am pretty surprise that the rumor spread, and the market act on those rumor. I myself is still skeptical that SEC will approve any Bitcoin ETF in near future, they will at lease fight one or two more cases. But I guess most people already believe SEC has change their mind about Bitcoin, that they act based on false rumor.

....

....

Final global conclusion: the cryptocurrency market is extremely speculative, manipulative, and can "inflate" on any sound... As well as deflate Smiley
On the one hand, it's bad... And on the other hand, what to hide, someone made good money for these minutes, not even hours.... In a word - watch, check, use the news, if possible, to make money !

Every investment is speculative and most of them is manipulative, that's how people gain profit selling investment stuff to the next buyer.
419  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Crypto Exchange Moves Money for Gaza Groups on: October 19, 2023, 10:16:02 PM
After the Islamic Jihad group received the money, I suppose they use the fund to buy weapon, so if they use Crypto the fund would be traceable to where they would buy their weapon, and the trace is public. It could be a bad sentiment for crypto, but if the WSJ could also trace who is supplying the weapon for the group, this could proof that cryptocurrency could also used to reveal all the bad guys involved.
420  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the need to be known a requirement to qualify for a loan(s)? on: October 19, 2023, 10:06:23 PM
I don't know what country you live in, but from where I came from Bank will gives loan based on credit score. Everyone starts with Zero Credit loan, at this state people can get a small loan range from $300 up to $1000, depends on their saving. Their behavior of paying back that loan will determine their credit score. If they pay their loan on time, they will gain credit score, and the bigger the credit score the higher loan they can get.

I don't know if there is any privilege for famous person, but as far as know, Bank doesn't give credit just because people are famous, Bank will check the credit score and people's saving.
