381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hot take: Your crypto portfolio should have more than just Bitcoin. on: November 15, 2023, 08:50:55 AM
I don't think it's a hot take, I think most people who are invested in Bitcoin will also have one or two other Cryptos. Tho, I would argue that if you want to diversify your portfolio, you can still get other investment outside of Crypto.

Other thing is that some replies here seems to think that people who bought Altcoins think the Altcoin is better than Bitcoin, and those conclusion jump is definitely wrong, anyone who buy Altcoin know that the Altcoin they bought would never surpass and become better than Bitcoin. They just speculating on the altcoin to get some extra profit.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Releases Web3 Wallet custodial crap on: November 15, 2023, 08:34:35 AM
it is extremely ridiculous when they claimed that the wallet is self-custody but at the end of the terms and condition they said that they are co-sign the transaction and they are also able to prevent us to do transaction in our own wallet. Binance should never call their supposed Web3 wallet a self-custody in any way. It's a false marketing and they are definitely lying.

383  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat & Crypto - Effective Expert Advise on: November 15, 2023, 08:23:52 AM
Reading the replies here make me confuse about what advice what are you looking for, but as I understand, you currently only get enough income to meet your needs, without any spare money to be invested in crypto. My only advice would only be to reduce your spending, and trying to get more income, either by doing side hustle or keep trying to get a new job with higher salary.

All that being said, I believe we always able to reduce our spending if we want to, even if you can only spare few bucks for crypto investment if you do it regularly with discipline, doing DCA, you will eventually can get some profit.
384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adaption in Turkey on: November 14, 2023, 12:48:49 PM
Found a crypto exchange in a country and drawing a conclusion that crypto is widely accepted in that country is very wrong. The main reason why there is a crypto exchange in a country is because crypto is not a legal tender, no one should use it as a payment method, that's why the crypto exchange exist, if you can directly shop with crypto then crypto exchange is not needed. And I believe that's the case for Turkey as well, it's illegal to use crypto as payment, therefore you need to exchange it into local fiat / Turkish Lira to make payment.
385  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it difficult for people to get capital easily? on: November 14, 2023, 12:40:14 PM
I haven't live so long, but in my short life I haven't heard anyone build a successful business without getting a loan from the Bank. Sure some of them might start with their own money, but they started it with a very small business and then when they need to expand they will took some loan from a bank. Most of people I know use their house or any type of real estate/land as collateral to get their loan. And it's get even harder to save up some money for capital when the inflation is through the roof and the price for basic needs is surging.
386  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Client Executives Kidnapped, Forced to Empty Crypto Wallets on: November 14, 2023, 12:34:27 PM

- I think this is impossible to happen without inside work from Binance.

If this crime is actually happened, then it should be an inside job involved, the kidnapper would need to identify the Executive and know exactly his/her schedule. And the kidnapper could only know that from the insider information, CZ should investigate the staff.

~

This story is targeted at promoting Binance. CZ is using the story to showcase Binance as the protector of customers' funds by claiming that they can trace and recover stolen funds. He is showing that his platforms is an option because they can recover stolen funds when he said that stolen funds can only be frozen if they are send to centralized platforms.

This is actually my first thought when reading the CZ tweet, if this is actually happened, then CZ is using this unfortunate event to promote binance, and if this is a made up story, the he is lying, neither one is good, in my opinion.

388  Economy / Economics / Re: India is the new economic leader of global south. And replacement for China?... on: November 14, 2023, 08:43:15 AM
Well, I think in the South part of Asia India has been an economic leader for a while now, their huge population was really a good lift for their economy, but not only that India has demographic bonus, but their government also make good improvement in their industry, and research and tech. The only think that lacks is the well-being of Indian people, their live quality is barely improving because the fierce competition, but if the economic projection and improvement keep in this track it will eventually improved.

However, I don't think they could replace China, China's development is more rapid than India, and don't forget about Korea, I think India need to beat Korea first before they try to replace China.
389  Economy / Economics / Re: Boycotting iSrAEl's product? think again. on: November 14, 2023, 08:36:23 AM
I don't really join the boycotting things because I rarely buy any of those product that people claimed to be supporting Israel either, so theres nothing really a different for me. But in general the boycotting is also happening in my country, and this boycott push McD Indonesia to send aids to Palestine. The people here is also divided between the ones who understand the concept franchising and the other who doesn't just like OP said.

Tho in my opinion, on the other side this is a good time for a local brand to raise and proof that they can be an alternative for those big brands.
390  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Using a Credit Card Demonstrate Financial Literacy? on: November 13, 2023, 08:55:11 AM
Do you believe that someone who exclusively uses cash for their purchases rather than credit cards is demonstrating financial literacy? Many argue that people tend to be financially reckless when using credit cards, often forgetting that it involves borrowing money. In various Netflix TV shows depicting individuals in debt seeking advice from financial advisors, the most consistent suggestions for getting out of debt are usually to cut up their credit cards and transition to making cash payments.

Individuals who avoid using credit cards tend to have a higher probability of being debt-free, showcasing financial discipline, and experiencing greater satisfaction compared to those reliant on credit cards. What are your thoughts on this stance?

From my experience living in a country where credit card is not very common, I think the influence of credit card is not that significant, because even when most poeple around me are using only cash and/or debit card, they still spend their money recklessly. I think more important aspect is their environtment and peers, if we live in a remote area where there is not much thing to bought I bet we will spend our money more wisely. But when we ilve in big city, where there are so many accessible entertainment, tech and many other thing to be bought it will be easier to spend our money in all those things that we don't actually need.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your thoughts about potential newly borned coins during the bear market? on: November 13, 2023, 08:49:09 AM
I don't really like meme coin so PEPE is not so much, ARB on the other hand is one of the most successful Layer 2 project of Ethereum. Compared other altcoins ARB hold up pretty well on bear market the lowest price was only 30% from the pre-bear market price, and currently it already bounce back to their pre-bear market price.

Other coin that I watch has doing pretty well even on the bear market is ADA, even though it's not a new project, but the price could still surge in the future.
392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Treating bitcoin as a teenager. on: November 12, 2023, 12:20:48 PM
I do agree that Bitcoin is still young, but because of this youth that people could expect to speculate on Bitcoin, because the market is still very volatile, this is the right time for those speculator to speculate on Bitcoin price and to expect to gain much profit from it. I think when the bitcoin market is mature, the price will be more stable, it will be difficult to speculate on it, so people wouldn't gain much profit.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin looking like sleeping gigant in this bull run season on: November 12, 2023, 12:05:48 PM
I don't have the data but from what I have learned as an LTC investor, LTC was always late on a bull run, it will got it's bullrun few weeks after Bitcoin got the Bullrun much later compared to other Altcoins. So, for anyone who are only begin to get Litecoin, I guess they should be patient and wait.
394  Economy / Economics / Re: Being rich = not looking at price tag on: November 12, 2023, 12:02:43 PM
I think that phrase shouldn't be interpreted in full literal way, that's a saying which supposed to mean that people are rich when they have all the money they need to spend on everything they want. But that doesn't mean that being rich will make us less considering the value of anything that we bought, in fact being rich will make people more critical about the items that they want to buy, rich people won't buy anything that they consider as overprice.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could stable coins save a deprecating economy on: November 11, 2023, 10:56:15 AM
How is that gonna work? Stable coins is pegged to a FIAT and depreciating economy would affect the FIAT itself so it's not really solve any problem. More than that, macro economy is a very complex thing, a cryptocurrency especially Stablecoin wouldn't solve it's problem.
396  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 11, 2023, 10:41:08 AM
I mean, at age 30, one should be in a financial state where they can fend for themselves and their family if the person is married. The person is supposed to have had at least one or two financial sources that they can always see as reliable sources of income.

I do agree that ideally a person should have reliable sources of income at 30, but in some case because of several factors it won't be a big problem for some people to be a little bit late. I know an elderly who was chasing his passion until the age 40 but he never actually make enough money out of it, and then finally start a business and he actually succeed after several years. On the other case there are some people that haven't got their ways until later because they have some difficult situation.

Life is not a race, everyone has their own time and moment.

398  Economy / Economics / Re: A dog that vomited and then ate the vomit again on: October 22, 2023, 10:21:15 PM
I think Warren Buffet opinion is based on how he viewed Bitcoin as a utility assets, which made Bitcoin look less valuable because it has no utility other than as currency, added with his preference for a centralized currency that is more secure and guaranteed by the government that make Warren Buffet can't see the value of Bitcoin.

Warren Buffet could change his opinion toward Bitcoin if the Bitcoin mass adoption is getting wider, and in my opinion that doesn't mean that he ate his own vomit, everyone can change their opinion in the future it means he has learned new thing.
399  Economy / Economics / Re: how businesses swindle the minimum wage employee on: October 22, 2023, 10:15:20 PM
Getting $8/hours is already 4 times of minimum wage in here but set aside the currency conversion, from where I live, getting minimum wage meaning we could afford enough good meals and once a week entertainment, so $2 minimum wage in here is not that bad because the the cost of living is not that high either. But in here, for a permanent employee (non-freelance) most company also give allowance like for fuel, internet, and once a day meal, and other stuff. So the the salary we received is a net salary. But the extra hours for pre and post work hour briefing is the same, we need to give extra hour to the employers.
400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons of my experience and knowledge about Bitcoin on: October 22, 2023, 09:59:07 PM
Bitcoin has almost zero utility besides Store of Value and for most basic Bitcoin investors, that's good enough. At some point, a subset of those investors will get bored of Bitcoin and start venturing into altcoins.

Most will invest in altcoins but never actually use it for utility. But for those who actually care about technology and focus on utility will realize that Bitcoin really doesn't do anything unlike many altcoins.

I suspect investors who only care about profit will mainly stick with Bitcoin because it's a Store of Value and doesn't need to have any other utility. But those who use technology will migrate to altcoins.

That could happened only when the Bitcoin price is not very volatile and the Invesor losing interest because they can't speculate anymore on Bitcoin. And when it actually happened it also mean that Bitcoin has fulfill it's purpose as currency, less volatile means more reliable currency. So, investors or I would prefer to say it speculators leaving Bitcoin is not all bad. All that being said, I think it's still a long time to finally get into those situation.
