501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A creative way to introduce BTC to newcomers on: September 29, 2023, 02:23:48 PM

I hope you enjoy it, and please help spread the word!

You have a very unique way of video production, I think this is my first time seeing this. You actually draw it on paper and then you shot those drawing and record it into a video. I mean I saw some people who made video with hand-drawn style, but in the end they will digitalized it either by tracing it or just scan it. I am not really into your style, but I still could enjoy and appreciate it.
502  Economy / Economics / Re: Surge in Bankruptcy Filings And Economic Crisis Vs Recession Vs BTC Price on: September 29, 2023, 02:17:51 PM
I am not really surprised by that data, I don't mean that I know beforehand, but I already saw mass layoff by several big companies happened several times since earlier this year. Especially companies that operating around Southeast Asia, it's where I live. I also work in marketing agencies, so I realize that companies are cutting their marketing budget.

Will this affect the price of BTC too. If the entire market falls, does it rule out the possibility that there will be a sell off too? and of course BTC will also be affected?

I think everyone realize that it's different now, previously before covid, when stock market and economy in general is falling people are turn their speculation to Bitcoin, but the current Bitcoin price is already so high for people to do that again. On the latest stock market crash after covid Bitcoin are joining the bear market, so if the situation get worse, Bitcoin could probably pretty much affected.
503  Economy / Economics / Re: Diversification in Global reserves. on: September 29, 2023, 02:00:22 PM
With the current volatility and the adoption scale of Bitcoin the answer is no, the reason why USD became Global Reserve is because United States was the biggest economy without any competition, they supply many products and they also lend money to other countries, and those process required USD, same reason why Chinese Yuan /RMB is raising this day, Bitcoin wasn't adopted by any country that has huge economy, and bilateral transaction were never use Bitcoin, so I doubt that any country would consider Bitcoin to be global reserve.
504  Economy / Economics / Re: Is academic pursues enough to get incomes? on: September 29, 2023, 01:51:27 PM
Getting a degree won't guarantee that you will have better income, it depends on many other things too, like what field of study of your degree, where do you live and also networking. However, finishing your study and getting degree will open new opportunity, I mean like some high paying job require certain degree, so by having those degree you will have the chance to apply to those job, but then to be accepted, there will be many other factors, like skills, experience, presenting yourself, .etc.
505  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies identify with your local board on: September 27, 2023, 01:53:08 PM
Bitcointalk is open for everyone in the world, so you should also enjoy posting in your local board here.
Although the rules of the forum apply to all boards I see the local board as a lenient part of the forum. Newbies can make mistakes and be corrected with love easily on their local board. However such mistakes might lead to severe bashing in the international boards.

Yep, happened to me once, and make me don't want to post in global boards for a while, global boards was really harsh on mistake. But from what I observe, it's far more tolerant to newbies day by days, as long as the post is not merit fishing or spam and junk, the higher rankings and other members who are currently active in several global boards is much more appreciative and less of a bully.

All that being said, I am agree that newbie should active in the local board while learning some technical term related to bitcoin, blockchain and crypto, and also learn more details on how the forum works.
506  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you could..... What will it be? on: September 27, 2023, 01:44:35 PM
I never really got affected by the FTX and Mt. Gox scam, so I couldn't relate. One of the case that I can personally relate is the Bitconnect scam. If there is anyone who haven't know about this case, this is a good read from the past https://www.bdo.ca/insights/cryptocurrency-execs-charged-for-2-4-billion-ponzi-scheme. I know a lot of relatives, friends, and acquaintance who lost their money on this scam, lost their life-saving, their education money, and even some of them buried in debt, this scam was massive in my country. And this case is one of the main reason why some/many people viewed crypto in a really bad way.
507  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should newbies invest with small capital in BTC on: September 27, 2023, 01:39:17 PM

So How Much To Invest??

I usually advice people, to invest what they are afford to loss. it doesn't matter how much you have, as a beginner you can start with a little investment and try to understand how the network works. as time goes on, you can continue to increase your capital.the most important thing to understand before going into investment is how to secure your asset, protecting them against scam or loss. if you have a good idea about this, you can decided to invest what ever you have.

Totally agree, In a quite high-risk investment like Bitcoin and Stock, if someone ask me this kind of question my answer is most of the time, 'Invest with the amount of money you can afford to lose'. Other than that, investing with the money you can afford to lose, make you less worries when your portfolio is failing, we wouldn't be anxious to sell the asset, if we currently got unclaimed loss, so we can continue to accumulate and grow our portfolio.
508  Economy / Economics / Re: marry rich: marry fiat rich or crypto rich, which is better? on: September 27, 2023, 01:34:04 PM
In life you have to be rich of something, or nobody want to marry to you, and have build a family with you, you would be foreveralone, and the media would constantly mogging you over and over again for being foreveralone to remain you.

How do you come with this conclusion? That kind of thing only happened in the movies, tho money also an important aspect, but being 'rich' is never consideration when someone want to settle a marriage. I believe if you look around you, there will be many couples who are married and they are still financially unstable. Even some people get married to have more stable life, so they can have more commitment to their job, one of the process to get 'rich'. As long as they have chemistry and they love each other at the moment, people will just get married most of them never think a long run for marriage, and that's also why divorce case is not very rare.
509  Other / Off-topic / Re: Google is 25 Today - What has been Your Experience ! on: September 27, 2023, 01:24:04 PM
I think I have been using google since the first time I used the internet, at first I really thought that Google is a simple database processing, which later on I found that it's really complicated. What really bothers me nowadays is that when I was trying to find a detailed information or reviews about a product like pc stuff, GPU, CPU or Keyboard or anything, the top search result is marketplace, not the official site, or some article/video about the product, even after I specifically add the word 'review'. Now when I want to find those kind of information I use Bing.

511  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does bitcoin price increase after halving? on: September 26, 2023, 01:35:03 PM
Actually Bitcoin Price was never instantly surging after the halving, it needs few months even a year for the Bitcoin to actually reach new all time high after the previous halving. And what makes the price surging is not the halving itself it's the reduce of mining rewards which cause the reduce of additional supply while the demands for Bitcoin is increasing, that's what make the price surging. So, in another more simple word, there is no guarantee that Bitcoin price will increase after halving.
512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A matter of family conflict regarding Bitcoin. on: September 26, 2023, 01:20:59 PM
Most of the replies in here said that Bitcoin is not the one to blame, and I agree. And this could be avoided if the couples were more open to each other. I believe it's not just the husband money, it's the couple's money, and most likely that it's not a cold money, could be their saving, after all if the money is to be invested in anything both should have a discussion, so both understand the risk.

It's the husband that's at fault.

He bought bitcoin not knowing what he's buying.
He was weak-minded and couldn't hold long enough to reach profit.
He sold at a loss. He attacked his wife and he injured himself, now he will go to jail, without money and woman to wait for him.

Greed made him lose everything. He wanted more money, he never cared about bitcoin, nor his wife. It was all about himself and making more fiat money!

Yeah, that's true, and I believe he is not the only one, most of people who buy never cared about the technology or the solution that it's bring, proven by that Bitcoin was still considered as an investment assets rather than a currency, even many people in this forum preferred Bitcoin to stay as an investment asset with high volatility rather than a reliable currency.
513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Borrow to Buy Bitcoin is Not Advisable.Consider the Factors Before Doing That. on: September 26, 2023, 01:14:27 PM
[quote author=Ayebabara link=topic=5461757.msg62634890#msg62634890 date=1690942254
I came up with this topic because I was planning to borrow money to invest in bitcoin but when  looked at the risk involved, I have to give up the borrowing plan.
[/quote]

Yeah, and the bank wouldn't even lend you if you say that you are trying to get a loan to buy Bitcoins, except you are going to lie about it, but then you will need to get some proof. Would be better if you get a loan to start a small business then spare some of your profit to invest in Bitcoins, that would make more sense, and your loan could probably got accepted by the Bank.
514  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with financial stress? on: September 26, 2023, 01:10:19 PM

Maybe I'm stressing out too much because I'm yet to find proper housing to establish myself again after being away for over a year in the military. I'm generally an anxious person myself, but does anyone else feel the same, and how do you deal with it? How do you stay optimistic?

I am not always optimistic, I am more of like always prepared for the worst. I wasn't came from a wealthy family, not from a poor family either just a middle class, so my parents have had their high and low, and I am get used to it. I am not saying that I never has a financial stress, but when I do I just live through it trying to find a new opportunity, and I believe that it will get better at some point, because it always does, and then it will get worse again, and then get better again, just a cycle of life.

516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some questions and answers about Bitcoin in Bangladesh. on: September 24, 2023, 10:38:51 PM
I for a couple of follow up questions here, So, you said that Bitcoin is illegal, is it illegal to be used as currency or it is also illegal to safe Bitcoin as an assets?

Question 3 : How to buy Bitcoin in Bangladesh?

Answer : Buying Bitcoin in Bangladesh is not a simple or legal process, as the Bangladeshi government has declared cryptocurrencies illegal and prohibited.
Option 1 — Online Exchange: You can buy bitcoin by using some exchange like : Bybit, Kraken, Coinmama that operate in other countries.
Option 2 — Debit/Credit Card: If you are new to Bitcoin trading then this option will be easy for you.
Option 3 — P2P Trading with 0 Fees: P2P Trading Lowes Trading of Bitcoins Directly Betofen Buyers and Sellers.

If it's even illegal just to buy Bitcoin and safe it as assets, how can you suggest to buy bitcoin from either online exchahge/P2P trading? Didn't Bangladesh government should have banned those sites or you suggesting to use VPN. Then if we got caught buying / holding Bitcoin what will happened? Will we get fined or even a jailtime?

517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is only Bitcoin and nothing else on: September 24, 2023, 10:29:41 PM
I still remember some of the project I invested in, and I can say the same that most of those project was turns into dust. They always promise something big like 'the next Bitcoin' or 'better than Ethereum' but none of them could deliver the promised product. This investment mostly happened on the ICO boom like 4 years ago, tho there might be some projects that actually booming, and the profit is quite satisfying, I still learned from those mistake, and now like more than 80% of my portfolio is on Bitcoin, and I barely invest in any new project.
518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can third-world countries counter inflation using bitcoin? on: September 24, 2023, 07:30:07 PM
Bitcoin alongside other cryptocurrencies has aided the economic development of many countries.

I have never heard that any country has a significant macro economic development because of bitcoin, or in any way it's helped by Bitcoin. Sure that some people are helped by Bitcoin in all over the world, but it's that many, and it won't helped the macro economy in any country.

this has made people to turn to cryptocurrency like bitcoin an asset that maintain its value over time to hedge  against inflation.

Bitcoin is not a tool to hedge against inflation, though it's decentralized and hardly/won't be manipulated by central bank it's still currently has high volatility, it's barely maintain it's value. And even if it can counter inflation, it won't be enough to help to develop economic in a country, it's too complicated, too many factors.
519  Economy / Economics / Re: Shipping container prices on: September 24, 2023, 07:12:36 PM
Is this a good indicator or does it indicate economic problems or oil and energy prices.

An empty loaded container definitely not a good sign for economy, it can meant either that the production is low, maybe because it's difficult to get the production material or the producer need to reduce the production because they can't afford the raw material, or else the production still good but the consumer don't want to spend their money, they choose to safe their money because the uncertainty in economic condition. Either way, it's still not a good sign of economy the money won't flow and the will make the economy stagnan.
520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gives the poor an Opportunity. on: September 24, 2023, 12:33:03 PM
Every other investment I know requires you to have a lot of money before you can make a reasonable profit.
The most popular forms of investment are stock trading and real estate and it's quite expensive to go into.
For you to buy these shares and make a good profit you have to have thousands to tens of thousands of dollars.
Not to mention that you need to have a deeper understanding before you can stand a chance to make it in stock trading.

It used to be like this, investment used to be for people who already rich. But today it is not any more, I don't know if the case is the same in every country but from where I can from, we can invest in mutual funds with only $10. And now we can do this with our mobile phone, I don't know whether it is connected or not, but maybe it's also because Bitcoin investment is so easy so other investments feel the needs to catch up.
