1802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] *** New Exchange With lot of Cryptos *** https://www.cryptsy.com/ *** on: May 25, 2013, 03:53:46 PM
Grin Wow at the amount of rage for market prices at cryptsy. Coming from a bunch of crybabies meeting markets for the first time.

Message to them: If you don't like the price of an altcoin put your BTC where your mouth is and put some buy orders on exchange to support your coin. Duh!

Well said sir.

So just one Fontas coin should be worth at least one BTC right off the bat. After all the coin is released prepumped.
1804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin luck factor for block rewards on: May 25, 2013, 03:51:37 PM
in the luckycoin thread there is a pretty deep discussion about how its being done.
1805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DGC] DigitalCoin.Co || Instant | Stable | Reliable || LAUNCHED on: May 25, 2013, 03:47:16 PM
A reply to some of the server posts today.

for anyone on my pool @ http://digitalcoin.scryptmining.com the server ran into an issue over night that caused a bit of a backlog in the db. You were able to continue to mine and the site continued to count your shares being submitted.    You'll notice share counts for block rewards seem odd, but it would have had little effect on payouts for any steady miners because its all proportional to what you submit per block.  We've finally manually worked through the backlog, processing all the built-up shares, and things are humming along normally once again.

No one should have been short changed at any point during the process due to how the payouts work, but if you feel you have been please let me know and I'll look into it!

Thanks to all the miners.
Thanks.  I reconnected my workstation.

TurboCoin on PPS. Better balanced, we're ready for more traffic again, plus, It's PPS!

http://dcg.turbocoin.us average reward is about 4 coins right now...
I tried your site yesterday and again this morning when I lost connection to the scryptmining server.  I ended up leaving both times cause the payouts received did not seem right to me.  I am not saying they are not correct, just comparing to my other server connections, it was not near the same payout.

Pleased to report that my p2pool has now been up for 4 consecutive days with no downtime during that period.  We've had load as high as 160 mh/s but have settled back to about a 50 mh/s rate.

Finding blocks at a rapid pace
I love this server.  I have one of my dedicated miner machines on here.  Payout is great.

I had my workstation (low hash) server on his other server at 107.20.222.119:9500 but while I was away Thursday night it was taken down for some reason.  I liked it a lot.  Don't know what happened with it.

If you are looking for a pool; Server next.afraid.org:8119 still there and fully reliable since the first day.

I use this server (http://next.afraid.org:8119), and everything is fine there. A good choice.
I do like this server but it is so far from Texas.  I still get a decent payout though rejects are higher for me because of latency from here to France.

The information that I posted above are related to my personal experiences with the servers and should only be viewed as such.

Overall, Thanks to all of the pool operators for working hard to keep the pools running smoothly and honestly.

I'm pretty sure verns servers are in Texas  http://digicoinpool.com/ you cant go wrong with his pools

point your rigs at the computer that has the wallet. So lets say your machine is 192.168.1.1 and it has the wallet you will point your other machines at it like it is a pool. You need to have the wallet conf file configured of course. Do you know how to do that?

1810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Abort Cryptsy on: May 25, 2013, 03:24:38 PM
vern seems like a great guy and Cryptsy has lots of potential just need to align its trading behavior with the other sites

I don't actually mind using the site now that I understand how the site executes trades.  Just advise everyone to be VERY careful when keying in sell order prices.  What you type is what you'll get regardless if there are higher buy orders in the queue.

I've actually created a warning popup earlier today that alerts the user if they attempt to sell below top buy and visa-versa.   Now it tells you straight up whats going to happen.

BigVern

Excellent I think a warning suffices.  Do you do your own coding?  Very nice work on the exchange

It's impressive this guy can set up alt.coins into and exchange so fast, sometimes there isn't even a daemon.

If you have ever mined on any of verns pools you'll find that they are well done. He codes his own stuff and has a community that feeds him info. He is an all around good guy who loves alt coins. Cryptsy is his beta exchange it is still BETA he is constantly working to make it better some really cool features on the way. Eventually he has mentioned he will add FIAT deposits etc. When vern calls cryptsy no longer a beta then complain about how its not what you like. For now features are added daily.

Additionally Vern has decided to only add coins after a week and only after speaking to the coin dev. I don't think anyone anticipated it could hurt the market I mean Vern is providing a service its the miners who dump for pennies not paying attention to profits that hurt the alt coins led by coinchoose and again I don't blame Sal he provides a tool that folks should use to assist not guide their decisions. Heck I use coinchoose all the time but I read between the lines on the exchange that is showing the prices and attempt to make educated decisions on the topic.

For you new miners out there don't dump your coins immediately hold and sell at the going rates you will probably make double your profit. Some folks out there I know aren't even covering the electric bill.

Anyhow my thoughts on the topic.

The coin is pretty addictive to mine find yourself staring at the stats waiting for the next lucky block. Already picked up by some gambling sites. It has a niche.
