Just hang in there, I have a good feeling it will make the site if it gets some more utilization...It would help if the author would come to chat now and then too (as he has).  Grin

active developer plays a big role Smiley
1622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt valuations versus BTC - why still? on: June 11, 2013, 03:56:44 AM
If a virtual currency can be exchanged for USD on a website then Fincen classifies said website as a money exchanger and requires a permit.  Cryptsy is Fincen compliant, and you'll be able to exchange your coins into USD soon.

We are working the legal hurdles to be sure cryptsy.com is fully compliant and then we will allow for FIAT trading. It is coming.

Careful, don't call Cryptsy a joke in the troll box, or you get banned Roll Eyes

Truth hurts, I guess.

With the amount of turds they keep listing they are more of a online letterbox then a joke.

we simply offer a safe way to trade all altcoins if their wasn't a market for the coin we wouldn't list it so I'm not sure why it upsets you. There is something for everyone. Come give cryptsy.com a try!

+1. After cryptsy arrives there are less members who get scammed from buying alt coins. I don't understand why hydro bashing cryptsy. I saw him there almost everyday.

+1 Yes I like cryptsy. It provides the opportunities for all coins to be traded. Let market determine their values, not a few stupid guys who want to trash the alt coins.

Hyrdo tends to be a productive member at cryptsy.com actually. His dissenting opinion usually provides a good counter to some FUD being thrown around.

Recently someone posted a virus and used the name firecoin.  I want to remind people that there is a real firecoin, called firecoin2, that is a fork of feathercoin.

It started out as a joke but is actually quite a nice, albeit forgotten, little coin with a nice logo

Details are here:

1635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ALT COIN REVIEWS, and ratings on: June 08, 2013, 02:21:08 AM
1. Megacoin A

This coin is not drawing much attention, but boy is it a doozy. ultra highspeed transactions, and has the built in ability to confirm transactions on your machine if nodes are unavailable to confirm. This feature kind of scared me at first when i discovered it, i thought the program had highjacked my machine. It turns out that the developer of this coin built this function in to prevent slow confirmation times in event of an attack on the network. Very clever. This coin would get an A+ if the Dev team and creator were online more often to provide support for the coin.

2. Litecoin A-

Still the standard of Alt coins, over the last few months this coin has gradually begun to die. All of its faucets are drying up, and users are lining up left and right to dump their coins. It appears that Litecoin has run its course and may soon come to the end, but for the sake of the coin i couldn't drop it from the top five just yet. There is plenty of time for improvements to the client and a ressurection of its lifecycle.

3. Digital Coin A-

With a steady increase in value on cryptsy, Digital Coin has proven to be a mainstay in the Alt Currency world. Its fast confirmation times, dedicated Dev team and Transparent Source Code make it a big win in the Alt Coin community. I look for Digital Coin to have a long and prosperous life, however its scant availability to non mining users hurts it a little bit, and so far the Devs have been unwilling to provide bounties for a faucet. Despite this, Digital Coin prospers on, with new fans converting every day and joining the vast community backing of DGC.

4. Name Coin B+

A very secure coin, not much can be said about it other than its average confirmation times. One thing that helps this coin is its ability to store value, where it is the second most profitable Alt behind Litecoin.

5. GLD Coin B-

This coin started out as a very promising coin, but went the way of Game Coin after constant attacks on the network and an early attempt to dump. After being demoted to a secondary market on cryptsy, GLD coin started to regain traction(and value), but a fork was unavoidable. For now the coin is losing and slowly dropping from the scene in the Alt World. GLD coin faithful shouldn't panic yet because after block 21000 difficulty will retarget and confirmation times should return to realistic values. As it stands now, expect atleast 6 hour confirmation times until the retarget. Still, despite all of its early pitfalls and shortcomings by the development team, it is the most traded coin on cryptsy.

Next 5: Franko, World Coin, Novacoin, Yacoin, Bitbar

Interesting albeit really slanted view of the altcoin world.
1636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LuckyCoin LKY | Lucky Blocks | Fast | Fun | Fair on: June 07, 2013, 08:20:21 PM
I've been watching the price slowly inch up on crypsty.  This is still a great buy!!
I have it listed on my site www.WhereToMine.com too - with some historical info

shhhh dont talk about lucky until I mine more Smiley

well, I'm kinda on the fence right now because right now the value of LKY is almost identical to MEM, but the profits are better with MEM, however, LKY is gaining value faster ...

LKY values are misrepresented quite a bit on coinchoose as there is no negative LKY block

Shitcoin that had a 60% instamine on day one. Why would you want to buy?

^Known Liar, but absolutely correct in this case.
Liar? I've been very honest and upfront about everything on this forum. If there's one thing to call me, a liar isn't it.

Hazard is a pretty straight forward cat. Would definitely not call him a liar
1639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ [ANN] [CRD] Credits, a new crypto with real innovation ! ★★ on: June 07, 2013, 06:24:56 PM
This coin will not be released until I am confident that everything I am trying to do will work as planned.

An idea recently came to me whilst I was sending some PXC to a friend...

Wouldn't it be great if it were possible to to send a text message with a transaction ? I started sending PM's to people to gauge if this is possible and how it could be done, and I got a lot of encouraging feedback. All I had to do was find someone that could code it. Also I needed to figure out the rest of the coin ; what crypto would I model it after, or would I design something from scratch ?

The first idea that popped into my head, was that the ammount of total coins would be such that there would be at least 100 units per person on the planet, which would put the number at....at least  600,000,000,000

The rest of the parameters are as follows :

Name : Credits
Block reward 10,000 block reward and time have to me like this to get all the credits in circulation in less than 60 years
Block time 30s
Total coin 600 billion 100 coins per person ( everyone on earth )
Difficulty change every 60 blocks ( every 30m )
Start diff 0.1 even if it started at 0.0001 it would sort itself out in 60 blocks ( 30m )
Pre-mine ZERO !
First 1440 blocks 100 credits to make it a fair launch
If I can get all this sorted it will be available to download at least 30 days before relece in an encrypted file with a very strong password

These are the innovations I would love to see implemented :

- A transaction fee of 0.01% because I think a percentage is preferable over a fixed fee.
- Being able to send a 100 character message when sending coins ( for example :  a short note describing the origin of the payment )

I do not want this to be another pump and dump coin.  I am looking for people to help me implement my ideas, and also contribute to this project in other ways.

( I can’t code to save my life but I am learning )

I would be very happy if you don’t troll in my thread
I would be very happy to hear constructive feedback

I know my spelling is bad I am working on it ( Joerii edited this for style and spelling  )

So what I’m looking for is anyone that can help me with my goals... I would like to hear from you !

Thanks for your time I look forward to reading your replies.

Zack

I wish you would wait until the current alt flood dies off credits is a great name and not sure this is the best concept for the name. Lots of coins super huge blocks and well you cant really support the coin since you cannot code.
