361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 29, 2023, 01:24:30 AM

Will be interesting though for Francis vs Joshua. I think that will be an even 50/50 fight or maybe Francis will have a puncher's chance as Joshua doesn't have the chin and recuperation of a Tyson Fury.

I think he humiliated Fury in this fight and after this fight, the boxing world will take Ngannou seriously, imagine doing this to an undefeated World and Lineal champion in your first boxing fight, Ngannou on his word can take this shit.
Whether he goes back to boxing or MMA he will be respected and feared because he has just shown how good he is in boxing and how he paced himself, he just opened doors to some MMA to take boxing as an alternative and there's a lot of money and freedom on boxing than on MMA.
362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think if you have a lot of money its hard to satisfy your ego in gambling on: October 28, 2023, 02:52:04 PM
Compulsive gamblers forget the total amount of money that he has all they know is they have a lot of money to spend so they bet big and continue to bet big, the gamblers' bets depend on their assets a 6 figure guy will likely bet big, compared to 4 figured guy on his assets, people's desire and spending betting habits are magnified when their assets suddenly increase.
So it is high risk for a gambler when he is already a compulsive gambler and he hit big he will likely increase his bets until he eventually loses all his winnings its a vicious cycle for a gambler.
363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you keep a record of winnings and losses in gambling? on: October 28, 2023, 01:54:40 PM
Do you keep a record of winnings and losses in gambling? Many here will feel that this is waste of time and will also not let them enjoy the game peacefully. Do you also have same mentality?

I never do this but from time to time I check my betting history not to check my losses and wins but to check the pattern even if it will not give me a hint about how to play I checked it out of curiosity, I can be organized on many things but I don't want to be organized in gambling it will just be guilty on how much or how big I'm losing in gambling, I prefer to just play and forget and consider gambling as a form of entertainment and the kind of entertainment where you need to pay jus tliek you do when paying for a movie or concert.

You never calculate the money you spend on cinemas or concerts if you treat gambling like entertainment like you do with concerts and cinemas you're not going to keep a record.

364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your nice hit to leave the casino. on: October 28, 2023, 11:07:05 AM
As a gambler, from when I leave the house down to the casino prior to getting there I normally project specific amount that should I probably hit am turning around to leave for home immediately. And am quite sure am ain't the only one who have for one  had this plan thought wrapped in his head, some persons might have too.

Just in case, what amount will be looking like a nice hit for you to leave a casino just immediately for maybe your first, second or third hit on the machine as you have just walked in?
I will probably leave the betting table if I hit at least 5 times my bankroll but I will stay on with my friends and just feel the ambiance of the casino it's not good that you just leave the casino right away without staying long to enjoy the ambiance and feel the place this is for offline casinos, but if it's on online casinos I will just log out and call it a day and will try not to go back or try other casinos.
It's important that you enjoy your winnings because it's not every day that you get to win, so it is better to get out and enjoy your winnings, the next one could take longer.
365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino is a Games of Chance and Entertainment on: October 27, 2023, 11:48:37 PM

Casino gaming is a popular source of entertainment. Instead of looking at it as a means of making money, players should approach it with the intention of having fun.

Many players cannot look at it that way, especially if they win big they think that duplication is possible. I also thought that it was possible to beat the house by doubling up your bet whenever you lose, but this martingale will never work and it's proven not to work.

it's very tempting to think that you can make money from betting the idea of easily doubling your bankroll is just too tempting for many players, so they eventually turn from just wanting to have fun to trying to make a living out of it, which eventually leads to addiction.
366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spirituality and Betting - Do they Have any Connection? on: October 27, 2023, 11:16:36 PM
People should know that God never supports or promotes gambling to his believers because they eventually blame him if the gambler loses a lot of money from his betting, gamblers should separate their gambling interests from their religious beliefs.

We all know that gambling is a vice that will lead you to a life of irresponsible spending and your relationship with your family, you can pray to God but do not expect that he will do wonders to your bets and make you win, because you will just justify your addiction to gambling.
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Mattress Mack" loses nearly 10 million dollars on Astros Loss on: October 27, 2023, 02:13:44 PM

If you are talking about high rollers, such amount is no big deal for them.
It may be our lifetime's savings but for them, it is just a loose change that they can play with.
So they have no qualms if they lost these million-dollars today and win the next day.
But on this note, regular gambler should not imitate their lifestyle because you can go broke in one bet ruining your life as well as your family.

For us regular gamblers it's hard to comprehend, the amount of money these high rollers are spending on betting, they can just bet and lose millions and move on easily whereas for me I have a hard time moving on losing hundreds of dollars.

Imagine losing $10 million dollars that's 56 times our money here in our country and you can live happily ever after and even your sons and great grand sons with that money, but money for high rollers in first-world countries is really peanut, do they even know that amount if they happen to visit countries in Asia and the cost to live in these countries.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Used Our Wedding Savings to Play Bet on: October 27, 2023, 08:46:00 AM
Now I consider this a grave betrayal of trust, a wedding is essential for a woman, and for a guy to spend the money for their wedding is very difficult for a woman to accept, the lady should choose to cool off the wedding, it seems the man love the casino more than he loved the woman that he is going to marry.

The lady did not deserve the man there are many men that are better than this guy I'm sure he will find a better guy, and her life will be in a big misery if she decides to continue with the wedding.
You cannot build a relationship if one is betraying one's trust.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dangerous chasing losses on: October 27, 2023, 08:24:02 AM
Only few gamblers succeed in chasing their losses, the motivation to recover our losses backfires because we are trying to win back the money that we've previously lost, when you're chasing your losses you are pressured to win and because you think you fumble on your votes and commit error after error, I've experienced this and the feeling is so bad that I can't eat in a few days because the what if, keeps running in my mind.
Chasing losses is a big nightmare for gamblers because you cannot think clearly and you feel you are in hostile territory, It is better to keep in mind that whatever happens, you will not chase your losses.
370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: October 26, 2023, 11:00:04 AM
Good day crypto Famz, I will like to ask gamblers this question, is there any gamblers on here that keeps record of their wins and losses? Do you keep a record of all the pennies you use to gamble and also the result?

I don't keep a record of my wins and my losses because if I keep a record I will have a huge deficit because I lose a lot more than I win and I will be disappointed if I see a big amount of money that I lose so I just take it per game and if I lose I erase it to my memory and move on.
Quote
Someone whom we both have this discuss yesterday said this is a good practice, I still don't see a reason why because I don't keep record of my losses, I tend to only remember when I win a certain amount, if its good enough you won't easily forget, but apart from this I don't care.
I also don't see any reason to record or keep a record maybe if you keep a record and you see the amount of money you've lost you will be discouraged from gambling, but will it keep you from playing, whether you play for entertainment or playing for money keeping a record will not keep you from playing I don't think its a cure to stop gambling

Quote
Not keeping records, does this make me a bad gambler?
Not keeping or keeping a record will not make you a bad gambler what makes you a gambler is you spend money that you cannot afford to lose, if you spend little money, and that little money will have an impact on your living it will make you a bad gambler.

372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 25, 2023, 11:05:08 AM

I'd like to hear from those of you who have experienced this or are still dealing with it. Please share your testimonies.

This will lead to suspension and getting fired from the job not to mention losing your opportunity to get a promotion, you will also have a bad reputation on your work and you be on the watch list of the supervisors and bosses.

Gambling while at work is the easiest way to lose one's job, it is just as bad as being incompetent in the office, this is like stealing your work time and the management don't want thief in their rank and files.
373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: October 25, 2023, 09:59:28 AM

It's a must to cash out, it's not every day that you can win a big amount and not every day you can win that huge amount, It is one of the rare times that you beat the house if you dilly-dally or delay and continue playing then there's a possibility that you can lose everything you've won, chasing previous losses is something gamblers should be avoided because it's very rare to get back all your past losses in one sitting.

Quote
So, I ask you all, what would you do when you finally make that big win? Would you cash out immediately to enjoy your winnings, or would you keep playing in the hopes of an even more substantial prize? Shocked
Many fail this test because trying to beat the house and extend your winning is just a bad idea that you will regret after you've lost everything, always call it a day if you've won a big amount, there will be more days to recover your losses don't take it on one sitting.
374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 24, 2023, 05:36:14 AM
At one of the local gambling shop I visited during the weekend I happened to listen to a conversation between two bald looking gamblers at the shop talking about one of their gambling colleague who had won a big amount of money amounting to a million in the local currency and due to that win this colleague of theirs' has been avoiding them since e won that money. From their conversation it was obvious that they were a circle of close three friends that gamble together.
We don't know the real stories but the guy who won the big amount must have his own reason, maybe he wants to get back to the two guys who also did not give him a prize when they won, so he just wants to get back, its his right not to give part of his winnings to people that he doesn't like giving it's his money, but people will think that he is stingy he could have given 10% of his winning but it's his decision it's his money he can decide what to do with it.

Quote
After all I finished with my bet headed home and was asking myself what could the colleague act that way avoiding his close friends they all gambling together and just because luck shines on him first he decides to create a distance and class. I couldn't actually annex a good reason why anyone should do that.
It's hard to tell the right reason because we do not what happened to these people but the reason could be compelling, for the guy not to give him even a small portion but if I won a big prize  I would have given these guys even if we are not good, we have a saying here share your blessing so the blessing keeps coming and I'm a believer of that saying.
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How will you feel if it happens to you just like this? on: October 24, 2023, 02:37:15 AM

People like those (me) who don't gamble for fun have this question to answer: how will you feel when you don't have money to stake a game that you predicted and better winning games you predicted played the way you predicted it and when you checked the winning was something that could have changed your life for ever if you didn't gambled again after such winning?

I will not feel anything at all for me it only counts when I bet on it, there's no use crying over spilled milk it's not for you if you keep feeling disappointed it will just ruin your motivation, I have seen people who are betting their favorite number in a lottery for years almost daily but one time they did not bet on it, it just comes out, now that's really disappointing but that's life in gambling if it's not for you, it's not for you.
You have to understand there are so many weird things that happen and can happen in gambling and these are just one of these.
376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigeria socialite went all in on this sport bet on: October 24, 2023, 12:29:00 AM
Early hours of today,  one of the Nigeria billionaire business man E money shared his bet slip online for fans to see how much he splashed on the game between Chelsea vs Asernal which already on and Cheslea leading with 1:0, this brought me to the point of asking what your opinion on celebrities staking higher amount and still be ok to publicly show it and do not feel any thing even if the ticket cut just like what happened to Drake last few weeks back.

What is you view and analysis on this bet,  although I see that he be confident in his selections to have staked such an amount,  but since football is a game of unpredictability,  what then ks your views on this game even though the match is currently live.

It's their money and they can do whatever they want to do with their money, Rich people are like that because of the abundance of money coming into their pockets they want to flaunt it by buying expensive clothes, watches, sports cars, and frequenting casinos and betting, they have a huge ego to fulfill, it's rare to see rich people giving back to humanity, they flaunt their riches and their gambling expenses not got poor people but for rich people to show them that he is richer
than all the other rich people and they want to be popular.
Money can really enhance a man's ego, you cannot expect these rich people to bet by hundreds or thousands they do it by hundreds of thousands to millions.
377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 22, 2023, 03:36:04 PM
I don't know about you guys but I strongly feel this match between Tommy fury and Francis Ngannou is going to be either scripted or just an avenue for for both men to make money. Firstly Francis Ngannou has not entered any competitive boxing match although he has the hard recorded punch of any man and being coached by arguably the best boxing heavy weight of all time Mike Tyson he still is at a disadvantage starting his boxing match against Tyson fury the undefeated world heavyweight champion.   Also whats funny is that Tyson Fury has a boxing match against a top ranked boxers immediately after this fight with Ngannou.

We will see that in the early rounds, both fighters are good at throwing haymakers, of course both fighters want to make money Ngannou will be making more than all his fights in MMA but I'm sure, Ngannou will want to extend his run in boxing if he can draw or even beat Tyson, that means more money coming in and most of all making a name for himself, but of course Tyson has everything he needs in his arsenal to contain Ngannou like what Mayweather did to Mcgregor.
The way I see it, Ngannou is only good in the early rounds, and after five rounds Tyson will take over he has all the experience to tire and dominate Ngannou and eventually knock him out or stop Ngannou.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your doubt has no effect on gambling. on: October 22, 2023, 11:19:03 AM
Doubt or expectation has no bearing when you place your bet, but it is better to be optimistic when betting we really do not know what comes next or what will happen, I have experienced that so many times when you are a newbie you tend to be hopeful when betting but as you go on playing you just accept what's going to happen, so yeah doubts and expectation has no bearing its either you will get lucky or you will get busted, so the best option is still to play with money that you can afford so even if you are hopeful or in doubts it will not hurt the outcome.
379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thurman Vs Stanionis WBA world welterweight December 9 on: October 22, 2023, 12:56:24 AM

Thurman doesn't fight often and outside of his win against Barrios, a b-level fighter, doesn't have a meaningful win in many years. The ring rust will be a factor although Stanionis hasn't fought in 18 months himself. Stanionis isn't all that great but I expect him to win simply because he is younger and still in his prime.

Thurman cannot afford to lose to this up-and-coming fighter he is on a comeback trail his fight against Barrios cannot be considered as something that has built his reputation, since this is a championship fight he will regain a crown and from here he can challenge big names in the welterweight because he already has a title, but this Stanionis is not a patsy, he has a good record and a hard puncher, so Thurman should use his vast experience to overcome Stanionis power.
380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why meme coins are trending? on: October 21, 2023, 11:53:30 PM

Meme tokens started as funny internet stuff, but they are turning into serious business with real communities behind them. $Opium, with its cool idea and excited supporters, seems like it's going to be a standout meme token. It's more than just a joke; it's a movement.

It's because of one man, Elon Musk, he is the one who started this trend since he shills it, and as long as he keeps shilling and backing Dogecoin more meme coins will follow, AI is a new trend but the meme coins still remain because Elon keeps his support to meme coin headed by Dogecoin, there's still no end to this meme coin trend because Elon is planning to add Doge to Xtwitter.
Dogecoin used to be a joke or funny coin now it has the potential to overtake some of the top coins in the market as long as it has Elon Musk's support.
