481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Disruption In The Gambling Industry Your Opinion on: September 05, 2023, 03:14:08 PM
This topic is not about the recent hacking of Stake there is a dedicated topic about this

Stake.com Hot wallet robbed for 40Million + usd  (Confirmed by stake)

But it's more on the general opinion when top casinos are hacked

Quote
- Do you think that big casinos can survive hacking because they have enough funds stored elsewhere
If we take on Stake's case based on Cointelegraph news
Quote
drained funds may be the result of a stolen private key.
I don't think Stake uses only one wallet to store their funds I believe big casinos can still sustain but they have to go after those hackers.

Quote
- When they assured that users are safe do you believe it or is it just a way to keep their status in the industry intact
They have to calm their players to keep the money flowing and stop the mass exodus of their players until they can't prove it.

Quote
- When top casinos are hacked and they still operate and still  into their business without interruption do you believe that
They cannot stop the industry is looking into their action so even if something will hurt the operation they have to do something.

Quote
- Top casinos should be our priority because small casinos cannot operate normally after the hacking.
This has to be proven

Quote
-  Do you believe that there will be more hacking after the top casinos?
The gambling industry should now become proactive to prevent what happens to Stake

Quote
- Do you think gamblers will stop playing for the time being after this is all settled?
I don't think so, as long as the casino can assure that they are responsible for the safety of their players' funds

482  Other / Meta / Re: How can Bitcointalk evolve to adapt to a post 2023 (ChatGPT, etc) internet? on: September 05, 2023, 12:34:51 PM

Yet I'm not trying to nit pick here.  I want to address a deeper issue.   And this is the issue of bots and real people who just use ChatGPT to create content on here.  Perhaps to spam their avatar/banners or to harvest cred for better conversion in the forum's marketplace.
.... Perhaps now, 2023 being a pivotal year in the advances of AI, is time to look at the next major version of Bitcointalk and what kind of features we would need to maintain & encourage healthy organic discussion here long-term ie- 'post mainstream AI'.

It's very challenging for UGC or user-generated content platform to combat these AI's because of the attractiveness of using it by some irresponsible members but the forum have responsible members who report and combat these AI'S generated content without the use of modification software to combat these AI generated content and I think the community is winning.

484  Other / Meta / Re: Is Bitcointalk source code public? on: September 05, 2023, 03:28:12 AM
As for the source code for BitcoinTalk, it is open, as most members indicated, but in my opinion, it is not good for it to be completely open because open source is a double-edged sword. Hackers can view the open source code and exploit the loopholes in the code to attack the forum.
If there are loopholes hackers can discover them anyway, but with closed source the public will not have a clue what happened or the extent of the breach.
Open source codes are infinitely better for the privacy and security of the users of the website and should be encouraged for all platforms that can opt for it.

Bitcointalk is using a very old version of SMF  because 1.0 and 1.19 license is restrictive it allows the user to modify the source compared to other and newer versions but the user of versions 1.0 and 1.1 are not allowed to redistribute or release the software without written permission from SMF team.

The user can modify the script according to their needs but any modification they can create cannot be release in public that is why the Bitcointalk version of SMF is unique in its own way

485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Only good coins are listed on top exchange? on: August 29, 2023, 07:28:00 AM
No way Roll Eyes
The listing fees of the best exchanges are huge, so any project can be listed for money and it is not the best coin for that.
Moreover one should not rush to invest after seeing the listing on a good exchange because the development of the project will be more dependent on an investor.

There are many coins that get delisted from good exchanges because their volume decreases and investors decrease, the main reason being poor development progress.

Development and roadmap are everything, that defines a platform and its performance in the market depends on it, That is why investors should check the capability and motivation of the developers, and investors should follow the updates on the development so in case the developers dump their shares you can also dump your share too.
The worst thing is you are late in dumping your shares and you end up as bag holders, thereby losing your investments.
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: An Awesome Project with the Potential to 1000x on: August 22, 2023, 07:27:05 AM
Digipanda is a project which have great developments and fomos to be the next mooning cryptocurrency.
I don't think this kind of project can create a FOMO you don;t even have a website for people to see how good the project is this is a very cheap promotion of your project

Quote
Here's the link for the telegram group

Search 🔎 for Digipanda official channel on your telegram
Why telegram channel only it only proves that you are not capable of setting up the right platform to showcase your project, all the best project had a website where you can see the roadmap, whitepaper and who are on the team, if its only telegram that means your project is not transparent so its not worth investing on it.

487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Meme Tokens Forge a New Era of Crypto Champions? on: August 17, 2023, 09:54:32 AM
I've been a fan of memes, but I never imagined a world where meme tokens team up like superheroes until I came across 'MemeVengers' on my TL. It's a concept where famous meme tokens like DOGE, SHIBA, and other memes come together under one banner with the goal of giving each token unique traits and powers, making them heroes in the crypto world.

If you're a meme lover like myself, what do you think about this concept where memes collide in the most epic way?
These developers will ride the trend and even go to the point where they will violate the trademarks and copyright of one company, this project will not last just created to sustain the meme mania, once they are called out for copyright and trademark infringement they will immediately take down everything, they need to be in a hurry to shill their shitcoin, so they can dump their bags to gullible investors who believe that they can make money from these shitcoins.
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi network KYC on: August 17, 2023, 03:09:47 AM
I have a brother that has been using his mobile phone to mine Pi network some years ago before the coin become tradable, but left it and thought the coin is worthless. He asked me about the coin many months ago and I told him that the coin is worthless. Recently I saw the price on Huobi global and it was around $25. I told my brother about it and we are about to do KYC and send the PI coin to mainnet wallet, but on Pi browser, I got this error:

I do not know if the mistake is from us or the Pi network developer do not just want people to be able to withdraw their coins to mainnet. Is there a way my brother can be able to do KYC without getting that error? My brother has high amount of Pi coin on the Pi network app used for the mining.

You and your brother made a mistake if you checked the coin on Coingecko you will see this warning
Quote
Please note that the mainnet has not yet been launched, and the prices shown on certain exchanges are for IOUs that may not be transferable across exchanges. Please DYOR and proceed with caution.

The PI team also has a warning that they are not the one who listed Pi there and the team has nothing to do with what's listed on these exchanges, tell your brother to do extensive research, there are so many things the PI team kept on their community and they are also charged with abuse, for asking KYC and not giving their miners their shares and one time there was a report that they are monetizing their homepage to make money out of their members.
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you invest in a project that might take years to outshine the market?? on: July 03, 2023, 07:47:08 AM
I found out in the blockchain world, many people are losing patience when they start to invest in a project. Their understanding about "long term" is no longer years but weeks.

Some project need time to build and shape. What do you think?

I'm not of these people for me it takes time for a project to mature and completed its roadmap, those projects that promise weeks to shine in the market are pump-and-dump projects, if you check the roadmap of legit projects, you will see that it takes 3 to 5 years to the most before they shine and reach its potential the developers are not in a hurry because they know even Bitcoin take three years to get the world's attention.
490  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Doing scam for Using AI Tool in Signature Campaign on: May 29, 2023, 12:03:58 AM

While here in the forum the debate focuses on how to stop AI from being used on it, outside this cave the debate is simply how it is already being integrated into our lives. The latest is that google is going to integrate it with the search engine. In the same way that first google lens came out and now you have it next to the search engine without having to go and open the App separately, the integration of AI with search engines will allow us to get more accurate information faster and with even less effort.

The admin will not apply AI to a forum, any admin forum admin will not allow that,  the platform will try to have as much unique content as possible for generic traffic, if the admin will allow AI usage the search engine will not value a platform that is full of spam and its content copy pasted it will be relegated to second-grade site and will value more the source of the content.

491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't gamble if you don't have patience on: May 19, 2023, 11:09:51 PM

Sharing my personal experience of my recent losses so that no one will commit this same mistake. Bet responsibly. I will stay away from gambling for a while now that mempool is starting to suck once again.

DON'T GAMBLE IF THE INSTANT WITHDRAWAL IS NOT AVAILABLE!

You don't need this instant withdrawal if you have a strong character that can muster you to stop gambling and wait for the instant withdrawal to open up, gamblers keep losing because they can avoid one of the traps of not controlling themselves in a situation that will likely lose the funds that they've already won, or if there's network congestion player should just use other coins that have a low fee do not experience bottle next in the network like Trx or Doge.
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some needed features of an online casino. on: May 19, 2023, 09:37:38 AM

But it would indeed probably be better if there's a maximum amount of money and time imposed to every gambler.

What would be the criteria for every gambler to give them the maximum time and amount of money and can it be requested of course casinos will look at their profit if they will impose the limitation and they will not likely give any more bonuses and free spins for those who want to wage more because they have limitations to impose.
Players will look for the next best casino to play if they are going to get a limit on the casino they are currently playing, you cannot stop a player who is excited to play, it's hard to impose limitations on players who are willing to spend in exchange for a chance to win and be entertained.

494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there play and pay later casinos? on: May 18, 2023, 10:52:26 PM

To play in any casino you have to come with your money or asset, or are there any casinos that allow play and pay later? Or I am thinking if maybe he used a credit card for gambling? We all know that debt is possible on cards..

Not only on credit cards but if you are a loyal patron of a casino they can give you a credit line in the form of a promissory note especially if you're a high roller, they will give you special treatment and one of this is a credit line, this what makes playing in physical casinos risky because you can play as much as you want and you have an open credit, now if you do not have control of your budget on gambling you'll gamble more than you can afford and this is where you get wiped out.

I'm just surprised that there's no animosity toward the bad deeds that he has done, he prefers blaming his community and his seniors for not guiding him properly.

I find this unethical and distasteful you are supposed to know the rules and you know that it's cheating to accept payment on two campaigns, you don't drag your community to your misdeeds
Quote
If one person's reputation is tarnished, it affects the entire community

If you made a mistake you should man enough to accept and not blame your community for not supporting your misdeeds and guiding you.

I'm sure your community will not tolerate your action, you should be out of this forum.

496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Questions of the day for gamblers on: May 10, 2023, 03:09:37 AM

If slots games is all you are good at, are you really good at it or you are just lucky? Can you use the word 'good at it' with slots game?
Those who are in the early stage of playing in casinos will consider they are good if they are having beginner's luck and this is one of the traps that gamblers should be avoiding thinking that they are good at luck-based games when they are just having luck as a beginner, they will find themselves chasing their losses on their next sessions because its impossible to keep up winning.

What is the most convenient games you play on gambling platforms?
I'm always tempted to play dice games it's so easy to play and you're always motivated that you can beat the house because of their simplicity, another one is the mine game, it's exciting to play, and one of the games that you'll never get enough playing, you'll always come back to play.

497  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do u think that the body governing need to re-strategize ? on: May 09, 2023, 09:18:37 PM
It is no longer news that cryptocurrency is not supported/accepted by governments of all countries. I want to believe that the body regulating these coins needs to re-strategize for better acceptance. I will like to have your views.

It's a case-to-case basis now, some countries will still try to restrict it, and some countries will regulate but so far majorities of countries are now adopting it.
The government cannot stop the advancement of Cryptocurrency because it is very well-suited to our generation and can easily be integrated into many industries, the money remittance industry is just one of the many industries that fully adopted and benefited from their adoption, some government is restricting it now but no government is permanent in nature, once there is a change of government in one country that restrict Cryptocurrency there's a possibility of adoption for the next government.
498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How's your gambling experience right now? on: May 09, 2023, 10:27:48 AM

Is anyone still playing today with this high fee? I think those gamblers that leave funds in the casino are very happy that they didn't need to experience this fee drama.

I have no issue at all I've been using altcoins like Doge, Trx, and USDT on casinos I'm playing, there's no logic in using Bitcoin at this point in time, its like losing a big portion of your deposit just to play when other altcoins can offer fees lower than $1, this is the reason why casinos accept altcoins so gamblers will have a lot of options so they can continue to play, without thinking of the high fees.
High fees stop the flow of money for casinos if Bitcoin is the only option for deposit.

Members of Bitcointalk knows the basic and continue to advise members to send a message here in Bitcointalk and ask for confirmation, if members fail to do this and failed to the wrong guy to message then the blame is on them.
Telegram is only safe when you know how to use it, with so many scams and scam groups you are in danger if you do not know the basic of protecting yourself on Telegram, this goes for all social media sites, they are not on Telegram only but on platforms where there are investors.
