481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Gold is government assest,Bitcoin is all yours." A Comparison between them. on: March 25, 2021, 06:57:25 AM
The only problem is, even if we know Bitcoin has a limited supply and somehow manage to reach 1 million USD each. Do you think it will be the same as before after the 1 million bitcoin that Satoshi mined will be released in an instant? If ever it will stand a chance, it would probably have a hard time bringing it's glory again or for worst it won't. That's the only thing that bugs me. Unlike gold or silver, they are continuously needed, for hardware purposes and alike, name it. So I am suggesting we diversify the investment, bitcoin at the same time gold.
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If stock market starts to crater, should we switch to BTC or USD? on: March 24, 2021, 09:42:01 PM
If the stock market comes crashing down as some predict, what will you do with your alt coins? Swap them for BTC? I know that many view BTC as a safe haven (like digital gold) but historically, BTC prices have been positively correlated with the stock market. That said, in the case of an actual market crash, I think BTC could act like digital gold and appreciate since it's now more widely accepted as a "real thing" than ever... Perhaps just selling everything for USD and buying real gold would be best? What are your thoughts? TIA

USD is having a war with China Yuan, these two are having a hard time dealing with each other. I saw someones post comparing things he can buy with 100 bucks 10 years and in the current year. It's value is getting low, so better invest in Bitcoins. Gold have low volatility and you will be waiting years to gain profits. I also read a blogger were in Congo they found massive mountain of gold, so much it will be enough to power ip the country.
483  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I coded a bot that buys bitcoin every time Elon Musk tweets about bitcoin and op on: March 24, 2021, 09:59:54 AM
So your bot would buy Bitcoin before it bumps? Really interesting because there would be both kinds of tweets like positive and negative, but often Elon posts positive about Bitcoin. Anyway since you are working to detect either it's positive or negative so this problem would be solved. But not sure if it would be useful for traders. Because when it will be revealed publicly then everyone will start using it and I don't how then how the market will react. Anyway, good discovered. Seems Elon Musk mostly posting about Doge, LOL.

Maybe not, because not all the time a famous person tweets about bitcoin drives the price. Bot are just programs by human which does errors and so their creations. It's better to focus and understand another major factors on price hike than to rely with some bot related to someone's tweet.
484  Economy / Economics / Re: Over the Past 300 Years, No Fiat Money Has Escaped Going to 0 on: March 24, 2021, 03:59:27 AM
Some are afraid that we will return to zero, and every year we move away from it. Over the Past 300 Years, No Fiat Money Has Escaped Going to 0
Listen https://podclips.com/c/maVy2k?ss=r&ss2=bitcoin&d=2021-03-22

One of the best reason there is to rely on Bitcoin is this. The moment people lose trust on paper money and know it's true value is already too late for regrets. History will repeat and paper money will be less and less time by time until it will go back to it's proper place of use, tissue, for books and newspapers etc.
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When sell holding alt coin in profit? on: March 23, 2021, 09:14:33 PM
When should long-held alt coins be sold? When to sell even when we are in profit? That doesn't make sense. Let me know if there is a suitable alternative to this issue.

Long held coins bought from ICO are rarely making it through., they've lost their worth and most investors were scammed. But if ever you have some and still hold, you should probably sell it, a good profit of 10 to 20 percent is okay, 50 percent is good, if you're lucky to attain 100 percent then it's a win. Don't be greedy as it won't just be the green days that you will be experiencing, so better make a profit.
486  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Prices Are Soaring Faster Than Inflation and Incomes on: March 23, 2021, 08:37:36 PM
Great job for the government giving stimulus cheques, In our country there are different types of helps from the government including the money. There are also food and medicines, not all comes from the office but there are also good samaritans giving cash and food. Even though the food hiked in prices because of shortage. It's been a rough year and hope this will end soon.
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Investing on: March 23, 2021, 01:13:42 PM
I’d like to get some opinions on Altcoin investing strategy. Here’s where I’m upto.

1.   Only invest 1% of portfolio
2.   Take out initial stake after 3x gain
3.   What about taking further profits, selling out completely? I’ve read that altcoins will lose 60-90% of their value when altcoin bubble bursts.

It's too low for altcoin investing, 5 percent is a good risk and if it will hit the target of 200x percent gain is a good  time to sell. Too much diversified portfolio confuses me, If I were to invest in alts I would pick for only 5 to six of them. It will give me head aches following more than that. I only invest my money for now on eth and Btc because It's almost true that you might probably lose your money when the alt you invest burst, especially it is a new coin.

If you've gained their trust with just explaining to them the basics, you've got marketing skills out there bro, that is awesome. We need people like you who do it for the sake of rhe network? By the way did the speech you gave to them free of charge? Are you somehow a professional jn these field?

It's had to bring people in especially the old folks, they're retiring and most of them just want to rest with their pensions.
489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why kids born in 2140 don`t get a chance to mine rewards? on: March 23, 2021, 02:31:22 AM
Bitcoin is 89% premine to any kid born today.
In 2140 it is 100% premine to any kid born that year.

Why the future generations don`t get any rewards?

What kind of design is this satoshi? to enslave the future of humanity?

Live your life now brother, it's too early to think about the future. And who knows another coin might take the position of bitcoin in their time, so it doesn't really matter. Also if bitcoin would still be existing that time, the transaction fees would maybe be be enough if they want to earn rewards.
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH or Bitcoin which is best. on: March 23, 2021, 01:16:28 AM
I personally like bitcoin more, it's popular and have proven it's worth. Dominance is also a factor, just how much power does it have to be in the first spot. Eth seems having a hard time following, just look at how wide the difference is right now in terms of price, eth should been at least 3k USD, but hey it's having a hard time on staying at 1800. So bitcoin is the best for me.
491  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Online Gambling 'or' Day trading cryptos- Which one is more lucrative? on: March 22, 2021, 05:37:58 PM
I can't really tell how much is the difference between the two. These two have their own ways. In trading you need intelligence, some traders came from stocks exchange, they are either learned or experienced in some ways.

While one the other side, gambling most of the times is pure luck, only a few can be won by skills, and experience. It is hard to predict.

If I were to choose between the two, I would pick trading, my losing streaks will be my experience and knowledge, and it will be a much of a help in the future trade.

To answer the question of OP, I'd chose gambling to be more lucrative, if you had the luck, you can be rich in an instant, although the two have their similarities, high risk, high gains.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Mining with different cards on one board on: March 22, 2021, 04:38:24 PM
Hello guys,

I have got a mainboard with 2 PCIe slot.
In the first (x16) slot I installed a RTX 3090.

I would like to add a second card to the other (x4) slot.

Due to the availability of 30XX cards I would like to use something like a 2080 TI as second card.

Question:
Does this affect the haspower of the first card? I mean I would maybe need two different drivers - if that's possible?

Miner is T-Rex

In my current situation, I am mining with an Rx5600 xt(amd) together with gtx1070 (Nvidia) and it works fine. I thought at first it wasn't compatible because they are totally different, and add to that it's a red and green cards, basically these two are competitors and yet they are working in my pc together. You would not have any problems with two green cards working on. Btw I am using nanopool, and windows 10 OS. Also I am running the msi afterburner.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I never thought I would do this on: March 22, 2021, 03:48:48 PM
But i just create wallet for doge coin  Grin
Should i buy coin now?

I never had any Doge coin in my entire engagement in crypto currencies, but might be planning to have some later. What does it gives you when you hold doge? Are there any staking? I was just seeing post on social media, one of my friend-keeps on buying doge and make memes out of it and it's surprisingly makes my day . Maybe I should grab some asap.
494  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the world be without poverty on: March 22, 2021, 02:02:50 PM
In world, there is hierarchy, that is why some people are rich, some are average, some are not that rich but still having good living some are poor, while the poor still look at some and still appreciate life because they are poorer. I am beginning to thinking laziness can be the result of some people not having good living, while some is purely due to ignorant an lack of knowledge and exposure, some even only lack information.

I am thinking with how people is, is there a way possible for everyone to live without being poor, though their can be hierarchy but in a way no one is poor? But I am thinking it is not possible. If anything happens today that the poor are richer and got richer than the rich people, the rich people will become poor too because life is not just balance.

Economically, can there be a way people can live and no one will be poor?

It can, if only the whole people in world cooperate with each other. Maybe if therr no boundaries and limits, no more racism and we stand as one nation. But it is still far away from reality, maybe a war could break and kill most of the people of the earth and the ones left are the good ones who doesn't discriminate. It is possible mate, anything is possible. But if we see backwards, read history, poverty was there, just think how many thousands of years it was and yet we are here right now, poverty is never like before, it's the balance.
495  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Bank of Nigeria Official Reiterates Nigerian Residents Free to Trade BTC on: March 22, 2021, 07:25:11 AM
Quote
A senior executive with Nigeria’s central bank, Adamu Lamtek, has reportedly denied that his institution had placed restrictions on the use of cryptocurrencies. Instead, Lamtek, who is the deputy governor responsible for corporates services at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), says his organisation’s directive only applies to the banking sector.
Source: https://news.bitcoin.com/central-bank-of-nigeria-official-reiterates-nigerian-residents-free-to-trade-cryptos-directive-only-applies-to-banking-sector

As a Nigerian I can confirm this particular quote from Mr Adamu is false and CBN has restricted Nigerians from using Bank accounts to buy cryptocurrencies. Though P2P has been done smoothly but there are high rate of scams involved.. People have lost huge some of money through this medium because of holistic approach by the CBN.

Scams are everywhere, it's not the fault of the crypto currencies, it's human nature. Anyways congratulations on having a free of worries trading crypto. Because in some places in the world are having problems with their government, aside from being banned some are just juiced by high taxes. Good to be in our country as we can do whatever we want with our bitcoins and other alts.
496  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Unable to trade because of my nationality on: March 22, 2021, 12:26:03 AM
So I tried registering with binance and I verified my account using my Sudanese passport, and it took half an hour for them to block my account. So I tried contacting customer support just to wait in queue for 7 hours and after finally reaching them, they informed me that my account was locked for good because I am Sudanese and Sudan is not a supported country and they can't help me. I then proceeded to explain that I was born in UAE and that am currently residing in Ukraine, I also told them that I verified my account using a Ukrainian phone number and a Ukrainian email. But they refused saying it doesn't matter where I reside as long as am sudanese they can't provide me service. So I went ahead and read the tos of other big exchanges like coinbase and asked their support, but they also said I can't register due to my nationality. This is very frustrating for someone who was born in UAE and lives in Ukraine, who haven't even been to Sudan to get refused service just because of my nationality. If they denied me service based on my current location I would understand but this is just astonishing. So does anyone have any tips or knows any exchange that may serve me please tell me or feel free to express your opinion about the situation.

Isn't that awful? How come they're banning potential investors and traders. Is that some kind of racism? What's the reason of banning a Sudanese nationality. I did not come across with such case, this the first time I have heard of it. Aside from Sudanese, what nationality are also not allowed to trade?
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum - Bitcoin's Tail on: March 21, 2021, 09:55:39 PM
Do you think there will ever be a time when Ethereum will stop following Bitcoin? The time Ethereum goes up in value is because Bitcoin goes up in value. In the future, will people look for Ether first before Bitcoin? Or will it always be Bitcoin's sidekick  Grin Grin  What do you guys think?
Maybe on the right time, there are few chances and one I know is that if the owner of 1 million bitcoin does shows and cash it all out. Selling those massive amounts of btc would lead to the crash of Bitcoin and there the ones would takes it place is thr second in n line which is eth. I don't know for sure, it's just my opinion.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Assassin's Creed Publisher Is Making The Next Generation Of NFT Games on: March 21, 2021, 04:36:54 PM
Gaming giant Ubisoft continues to explore the possibilities of blockchain gaming, from NFTs you can share between games to token taxes for charity.

In brief
  • Game publisher Ubisoft recently released the crypto fantasy soccer game One Shot League with Sorare.
  • The Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance publisher is exploring ways to bring its big franchises to blockchain.

The blockchain gaming world is largely populated by startups built specifically to pioneer the burgeoning industry of crypto games, whether it’s Immutable with card-battler Gods Unchained, Sorare with its popular fantasy soccer platform, or Sky Mavis behind the Pokémon-inspired Axie Infinity.

However, there is one very big exception: Ubisoft, one of the largest traditional game publishers in the world, and the storied brand behind mega-franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Just Dance, and various Tom Clancy-branded shooters. The gaming giant, which has dozens of international studios, first signaled its interest in blockchain technology by unveiling a proof-of-concept prototype called HashCraft, a crypto-infused riff on Minecraft, in 2019.

Wish they could develop a game were mining is infused. Or a Role playing game which the drops are crypto currencies. Or some game that if you've reach a minimum playtime rewards you with crypto currencies. At least gamers could play at the same time gain valuable cryptos. But I guess it's almost impossible because, whenever I tried playing high resolution games and running my miner at the same time it crashes or a lag occurs.
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 21 million bitcoins is the same as 21 trillion bitcoins (for us now) on: March 21, 2021, 03:46:37 PM
Are you trying to defame bitcoin? Im not so sure about your motive, it's sounds like your selling out other than btc to us or to new comers. Bitcoin as of now is okay and if ever it had been 21 trillion, it would've been less than 10 dollars or maybe no value at all. I don't know really ehat satoshi thought the time he chose 21 millions, but the current btc price shows that this guy Satoshi is a genius.
500  Economy / Economics / Re: Free Market Efficiency vs GPU Scalpers on: March 21, 2021, 02:47:06 PM
Economists have a tendency to overgeneralize free markets as providing customers with ideal efficiency in producing and dispensing goods and services.

The past 20 years have seemed hellbent on putting notions of free market efficiency through rigorous stress tests.

In 2015 Martin Shkreli's investment group bought out existing stockpiles of the HIV drug daraprin. Having cornered the market they resold the drug at 4,000 times its previous value. One example of inefficiency present in free markets.

In 2021 GPU scalpers (wallstreet investment groups?) following in Martin Shkreli's footsteps bought out more than 53,000 new GPU units, to corner the market & resell at higher prices on ebay/stockx.

Market inefficiencies created by scalpers (resellers) negatively impact the bottom line of gamers and GPU miners.

While practices such as scalping concert tickets is illegal in some US states. There isn't a federal mandate which regulates broadscale scalping practices that destroy market efficiency.

Dare I say we might need one in this day and age.   Smiley

In the absence of regulation, what options are available.

I really feel sorry for the true gamers out there, I am a small time miner and I am really annoyed at some point with those scalpers. Even though miners feel the same way or even worst towards us miners, because it is we who are the reason of all behind these scalping. Even though prices get high, we insist on buying them as long as we can get our ROI, afterwards we earn passively. Ww don't intend to stop from that, we greed as much as we want, that's human nature, we want more and now it backfired towards us. There's no more to buy in our country, thr ones that are left are either don't have the ability to mine or the price is doubled.
