261  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: October 13, 2013, 01:10:22 PM
Well after months of mining one of my avalons have stopped. When I power cycle it will run for a little bit and then stop
I receive the following errors
usb_write error on avalon_write
any ideas?
It's either the FPGA board (unlikely ... but you can get one from the bitmine.ch guys, say hi from me)
or the TP-Link router/cpu board (very likely because they are rubbish) ...

Connect the FPGA board of the broken one via link usb cable to the TP-Link module of the good one, and see if it hashes alright ... if that is the case it is the tp-link gone bad ... if it still stops working after a while it is the fpga board (to 95 % ... the 5 % are one of the hashing modules having problems).

Hope that helps!

Will the difficulty drop? I am still getting roughly a block a week.
History says no ... A prediction for the future based on the past, therefore also says no.

A global blackout or at least a blackout in Europe and/or American continent could cause something like it.
Is this likely to happen? No, probably not ... so it will not go down either (with that crazy idea).

If you can thing of other more likely events let us know ... we wait and prepare for it.

I know the only answer to this question can be: bad luck.
No ... not bad luck ... higher difficulty ...
It went from 9.86 to 9.90 within one week. This makes it very unlikely for you to find more than 1 block a day.

Was sollen die können?
- GH/s? (Pro "Platte")
- Stromverbrauch

Ist ein Netzteil dabei?
Wie kommen die von WR nach DE?
Wer soll den Transport zahlen (inkl. Einfuhrzoll)?
Escrow möglich ... oder Abholung in DE persönlich mit Geldübergabe?

Danke für die Info!

1. This is not a how-to repair, I have no idea what Im doing, running on pure can-do spirit here.
2. Yes I know I fucked up and I do feel like a retard, thank you for not pointing out the obvious.

... ROFL ... LOL ... ROFL ... deleted

The question that now haunts me is how unsafe is it to keep running this board ?

Pictures please!  Cheesy

And congrats on the good job of getting it back to work!  Wink

....
My issue is that payment is only accepted in Bitcoin. I am aware there are many outlets through which one can purchase BTC, however, some people simply aren't all that comfortable doing so. Do you have any plans in the future for other payment options?
....

If you don't feel comfortable with BTC then don't invest anything into this project, or BTC at all. Buy some gold you can hide under the pillow.

How can you expect the BTC economy to get bigger, if no-one feels 'comfortable with it'?  Shocked
My advise to you is, get the BTC now, so you can send them to JJ when he is ready and your chips arrived!
You still have at least a couple of weeks lead time. Get comfortable with it!!!  Wink

did bitfury offer miner that make ROI possible?
depending on the BTC price being high enough -> YES
After a reality check -> I don't think so
269  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Avalon Technical Support Thread on: September 17, 2013, 01:51:18 AM
We have tried setting the miner count to 32 as well, as I understand disconnecting a module I just disconnect the power from the module and disconnect the data ribbon from the fpga? Ive tried this before to no avail.

How would one go about ordering a fpga from them? I searched their products and only found 4 items.

On a side note..
What does a yellow/red led usually mean?
Send them an email on info@bitmine.ch ... mention my name/nick.

BTW: Just disconnecting the power from the module is not enough, you have to remove ribbon cable as well (in order to rule out a short on the circuit board of a module).
270  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Avalon Technical Support Thread on: September 16, 2013, 07:24:58 PM
Had a quick look at your output .... I noticed that you have the default setting of 24 for "Miner Count" in your config. As you wrote, it is a 4 "blade" unit so the correct value would be 32.

Can you also please check the hardware addresses of your both units network interfaces, they need to be different.
A factory reset followed by a fresh firmware flash will set them to the same address.

You can also try:
a) disconnect 3 out four modules and check if you have faulty one (burned chip etc.) ... remember to set the miner count correctly!
b) run the modules in the working Avalon miner in order to check that they are OK.

If it turns out to be your FPGA board, I suggest you get a new one from the bitmine.ch guys ... Let them know I send you, they will FedEx you one for a reasonable price.

All the best!

Newest error message

CGminer Status (freshly flashed with only network settings changed)

CGminer, Kernal and System Logs are in link below

If anyone has any idea of what could be wrong, help is greatly appreciated..
Thanks in advance

1. Your top 2 pictures/screen shots are too small ... can't read a thing
2. Firmware wise .. use this one: http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/avalon/20130821/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr703n-v1-squashfs-factory.bin

Is there any way to check the current balance of your account on Beeeer, or do you just wait until you get paid out?
You can see it on the payout pages.
But it's not very convenient.

Thanks. Even on the latest payout, my address is not there though? Where exactly am I supposed to see it?

**EDIT: I get it now. Thanks for your help Smiley

Sy on ppcointalk made this really cool stats page: http://xpm.syware.de/?address=0 Put your payout address in the URL.

great  Grin

http://xpm.syware.de/?address=YOURXPMADDRESS

Except for the big error message:

as sva_h4cky0 mentioned, you need to put in your own payout address into the URL. Like this (not my address): http://xpm.syware.de/?address=AbB7cgdEXr3hJ254qFW1QqAecLGfW9XyGU

Yes, I get it .... but I get the error instead of some nice page .. look for yourself: http://xpm.syware.de/?address=AZRU4BQmTUyfdKTFo9Xhm3nxeLruJJ7N8Q

Hi Kraken,

why do you not accept proof of identity and utility bills in form of PDF's?  Sad
PNG, JPG etc. is quite annoying because I get my utility bill via eMail ... welcome to the 21st century!  Wink

I got my miner yesterday evening i was talking to Christian who seem upset when i asked if there will be any compensation as we ll make never our money back soon here is his answer , i certainly dont blame Bitmine for their late but they are the one who took the money and started a production of Avalon Clone without receiving chips they trusted Avalon as we did trust Bitmine by paying preorder ....

I don't want be rude but your avalon clone unit become ready only because we bought 7k chips from Zefir for the double of the price (22$/chip) your Avalon cost us $7040 USD !!!!

No one will compensate us for the shit Avalon did. And we claim from start: if Avalon send chips delayed our product will be delayed!
But we are still trying to do our best for make our costumers happy!

An important thing is we are selling products not Investments! Your "ROI" depends only by the market, if bitcoin in 3 months go $300 everyone will be happy because you reach your ROI, but this is not up to us.

Best regards

They lost some how 300 usd from the original price me i am getting half bitcoin a day for yet 4 days more then much much less after next difficulty

EDIT : I chossen hosting , Bitmine was nice to start mining before he place it into Datacenter i just wanted to mention it that i dont forget they are doing good too

I guess in total they lost more than that ...
Think of all the electronic parts they stocked for their 300 (in total over all batches ... correct me if I'm wrong) units. The FPGA alone on the controller board is 25 USDs a pop ... not to mention all the custom built cases.  Roll Eyes

Has anyone received their batch #1 yet?
Too lazy to read? ... deserves a reply.  Grin
279  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Avalon mining rig clones thread from bitmine.ch (NOW SHIPPING) on: September 10, 2013, 12:43:58 PM
Yesterday we have FINALLY been able to talk with Yifu and he assured us a refund of the batch 2+3 Avalon ICs.

This is funny... so you didn't request a refund for batch 1... strange.. since you reported they haven't delivered them and you had to buy them elsewhere... (at double price, yeah right..)

Still I'm glade to see batch2 and 3 will have some sort of opportunity... even better would be for you to offer some real costumer support for batch1.. but as you are now focused in getting more money for another non existent product...

We see all happening again... new topic to sell new product.. you guys go there and answer everything to show that you care.. but as soon as you get the money... well..
I guess Giorgio is talking about their first order with Avalon and not the miner batch1 ... They ordered multiple lots (batches) of Asics from Avalon and they cancel only order 2 and 3 which was made a few weeks after the first one.
280  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Avalon mining rig clones thread from bitmine.ch (NOW SHIPPING) on: September 09, 2013, 04:05:13 PM
This all said by the one who received an email to pickup his avalons before anyone else received any kind of notice...

What's up shill? Having a nice day?

I can only second that.
Not my problem if you wait for hours (days?) to get your order in?
I was the first who ordered! And took the liberty to actually visit them to see that they are legit.
Something I paid out of my own pocket ... when everybody was scream Scam here ... just go back to first few pages of this thread.
