No. We only mined a couple of blocks to test proof of work, and we went public sometime around block 10. We'll have a blockchain explorer and android wallet shortly. Excellent, thanks for the response. I look forward to the diff climbing and slowing down the block time. Distribution will fix itself up then. Looks like early adopters are rewarded well.. Also, nice news on the services. The more the better! |

due to the orphans we're seeing with the super fast block times, I just want to make sure everything is working. Can anyone mining at my pool verify that they've received payout?
receive 6000 so far Thank you. Looks like its working just fine then. Just need to stabilize out the network diff. I received some payout on your pool thanks. Does look like alot more than 210M will be mined tho unless things are going to slow down Its the diff adjustment. It can't catch up in time. Looks like early miner gets the worm on this one until enough 2016 block sets pass for it to even out. |

Hi there,
I have wallet running all the time and coins that are older than 35 days but staking doesn't seem to work. Wallet is unlocked and I see "unlocked for block minting" text in the tooltip. What am I missing?

I feel merge mining would bring interest back to Terracoin. Many people disregard the coin because of how abused it was in the past. As we can see now there seems to be limited interest in mining it at this point. Merge mining would bring a "standard" of hash power back to the TRC network. Of course difficulty would also follow suit.
I mean why the hell else does Dogecoin even exist at this point? The coin is essentially a big joke. Without merge mining I feel it would be another chain lost in the sea of alts.

He has also deleted the extortion comments on the scam accusation thread and was online because of that. So there is no hope for dev to return again. The last resort would be to seek help from a responsible member and continue developing this coin. Also he must not forget to prune the pre-mined blocks found by this dev or else who knows he might start crashing some day with huge dumps. This is a good point, I don't know why anyone would have anything to complain about if the premine gets removed. Makes it even more scarce of a coin that way too |

I can't help but feel like BTCU is dying  Nothing is killing it, just the initial excitement of launch is over, and the absence of the dev looks bad. As stated before though, the network is operating excellently. |

What I suggest is to firstly implement a better difficulty adjust algorithm to protect the chain from potential threat of malicious mining power.
If we can decide the proper algorithm, we can go toward the direction to implement it.
However, I don't like the idea to increase the block size as it's not the necessary thing for Terracoin. It don't need to be popular but it should be secured.
I can agree with this sentiment. The retarget is a little lackluster right now. This could be improved upon. Also, we are still a good bit away from the block halving and there are plenty of TRC that have not yet been mined so I don't see the block reward increase as necessary. I also agree with sentiment. Making TRC secure is a prime goal, and we are going to have to hard fork it pretty much no matter what, so let's pick what is best now. The reason I was suggesting BCT XT was to avoid the community chaos that happened to the BCT community when the the block size did get large enough. I was under the impression that with the BCT XT code the block size wouldn't double until 75% of the miners "agreed" to it. What difficulty adjust algorithm would you suggest? What about the KimotoGravityWell and DarkGravityWave? But I think maybe we should test and play around instead of copy and paste. Someone can implement it for the testnet first, then we can test for a while to see how it goes? Did anyone recall how the time-warp attack happened to TRC last time? @OP it may be prudent to remove Vircurex as a listed exchange for Terracoin, though it may be the only one right now.. I certainly wouldn't direct anyone to trade there at this time. Well at least without giving them a disclaimer first.
Also it looks like one or two of the pool links may be dead. The ones that are up seem to be operating just fine.
What specifically is wrong with Vircurex, besides it being outdated and clunky? When I update the OP with a warning I will need to explain what I am warning about. Which pool links are dead? I will remove them. It looks like we are tied for 1st place voting with DOT on Cryptopia! If we win one of the requirements is that we have to have a website.... Which means I will have to throw something up on terrcoin.info in the next day or so. Thanks for the well wishes everyone! TRC is the first altcoin I traded in on BCT-E years ago, which is why I am so fond of it. I am a little behind on updating everything I wanted to this weekend because I ended up having to work this weekend.  Well Vircurex has plenty of withdrawal and scam accusations against them.. I mean no need to remove or warn I suppose. Really everything you do with crypto is at your own risk. Though they are still holding a large amount of user funds from their supposed hack that happened a long time ago. They were making small payments back and updating with what was owed yet, but there's still plenty of money that hasn't been returned. As far as I know, if you're making low volume trades you probably won't have an issue there. Then again, they really don't have much volume because of what happened in the past. Looks like miningpools.tk and tompool.org are both down. The other three seem to be up. |

If not it will be resumed by others, I promise  Yes I highly suggest someone who is capable of taking good responsibility to refurbish this coin, change the flaws in code if there is any and then relaunch it just like other coins are being done. As far as I know this dev will not be back anytime soon. Just take the example of how AntiBitcoin has been taken over which was previously a dead coin, this BTCU must also be taken over by some responsible and trusted dev. Indeed, but the coin is not dead it is only a few weeks old. It's still trading at a good price but also at low volume. No coding flaws have been found yet. My point is I don't think it needs any sort of revival, just needs more services created to take off. Plus, my wallet has 48 connections right now. Not bad at all! |
