Is the pool under attack or down right now?

Great idea to build awareness to PPC!  Consider a give away on PPC forums as well, at least will get more registered users!

P9ogBzQNLUGaCw9QYDc5nzRr1NAgUXSQ7j

Thank you!

Thank you, I've actually started a thread on the PPC forum as well directing users to come over to this one if they want a free coin  Smiley

http://www.ppcointalk.org/index.php?topic=246.0

EDIT: I see what you mean. Yes that would have made sense, but at least I am drawing attention this way. The people just looking for a small handout won't register for the forum anyway. If they have no interest supporting PPC it is their loss  Cool
1524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PPCoin (PPC) Giveaway - Check out ppcoin.org and ppcointalk.org Today! on: June 09, 2013, 05:33:43 PM
Thanks for the posts.

Nice posting. Here's to people thinking long term (ppc) and ignoring junkcoins. Thanks for the 1 ppc!  Cheesy

Couldn't agree with you more Excelsior.

Just as a heads up and to future posters here, I will be sending coins out later tonight. I figure I will let the posts accumulate and send a bunch of them out most likely around 10PM ET. Anyone posting after that will get their free PPC sometime tomorrow afternoon.
1525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / PPCoin (PPC) Giveaway - Check out ppcoin.org and ppcointalk.org Today! on: June 09, 2013, 05:13:56 PM
Those of you here who know what PPC is should already know of the merits and innovation of this cryptocoin. PPC has what it needs to become incredibly successful, but the one thing we can always use is more community driven support!

For those of you looking for more information regarding PPC, check out the following websites/threads:

Original Release Thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=101820.0

Official Website: http://ppcoin.org/

Weekly Update Thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=114994.20

Also for those of you that have not registered yet, please head over to the official forums at http://ppcointalk.org/ and create an account. We are a rapidly growing forum filled with great supporters. If you have any questions regarding PPC, someone will be able to help you  Smiley

I will send 1 PPC per person to each valid PPC wallet address posted in this thread. I understand many people will read this thread just to get a coin, but I'm hoping more people will actually take something informational away from this and become a member of the PPC community.

There are 300 coins available for giveaway right now unless I receive any donations to keep the thread going and this information front and center over some of the other junk that is posted on this board  Grin  PM me if you want to help.

Coins up to the most current post at the time will be distributed 6/10/2013 around 11PM ET. Any posts after that up to the 300 coin giveaway limit will be distributed the following night.

EDIT - Everyone up to post #183 is taken care of, decided to get on and take care of it a little earlier (9PM here). The transactions are confirming now so you should see them shortly. Any people posting after that will be sent coins tomorrow night (approximately 11PM ET). I will continue this every night until the 300 coin limit is reached.

Feel free to say what you like about PPC when you post for your free coin!

Moderator: Morgan Massens, Panelists: Chris Larsen (Ripple), Mark Friedenbach (Freicoin), Charles Lee (Litecoin), Dennison Bertram (Terracoin)
discuss alt-chains at the Bitcoin 2013 Conference in San Jose, California, May 19, 2013, hosted by the Bitcoin Foundation.

I want to root for him in all of this, but Morgan Massens did a pretty terrible job moderating that discussion.

This is awesome.
1533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Mining pool website not allowed in signature? on: May 28, 2013, 02:23:40 PM
is it because of this:

10 posts are required to use links

Strange, I think I had more than 10 when I put it up. Either way, I will leave it as it is now and hopefully it doesn't get taken down.
1534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cgminer crashing with --scrypt on: May 28, 2013, 01:58:03 PM
Okay, thank god Driversweeper made backups of the dlls somewhere (including where they were removed from). The automatic restoration didn't work so I had to put them all back manually. I'm back in my OS though.

Suffice to say I'm done for the night. Don't think I'll ever get that Scrypt mining working (I tried before).

I had the same problem before with Driversweeper  Shocked
1535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cgminer crashing with --scrypt on: May 28, 2013, 01:56:50 PM
Hi everyone. Was wondering if you could help me with trying to mine LTC?
I am able to mine BTC fine but I just can't seem to get LTC working with cgminer Sad

Here is my config:

cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum.us.give-me-ltc.com:3333 -u worker.1 -p password --intensity 10 --shaders 2048 --worksize 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-threads 2

I always get a windows message box saying cgminer.exe has stopped working.

I tried cgminer --benchmark and it worked fine but when I try cgminer --benchmark --scrypt it errors with a windows message box saying cgminer.exe has stopped working.
It seems as if --scrypt is causing it to crash Sad

If I try cgminer --scrypt --verbose I still get the same error after entering the password.

Any idea?  Using a 7970 on Windows 8 x64 with cgminer 3.1.0 (also tried 3.0.1). Driver version 9.14.10.0969. Catalyst 13.4

I had this issue before and it drove me crazy, reverted to several different driver and SDK versions. What solved it? Reinstalling Windows, installing 13.1 drivers and SDK 2.5 on the fresh load and not much else.

On another computer (as strange as this sounds) I had the same issue with drivers crashing after installing .NET 4

If GPU-Z can't see that OpenCL support is enabled, then it isn't going to work.
1536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TOP 10 coins on: May 28, 2013, 01:38:07 PM
and whoa whoa whoa why isn't Namecoin #1 and Devcoin #2 or vice-versa, you people need to rethink your values.
+1

PPcoin makes sense, though.  At least it added something of significant value.  But PPC, NMC, and DVC should be top 3, no question.

1537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TOP 10 coins on: May 28, 2013, 01:34:55 PM
PPC shouldn't even be in this poll, it deserves the 3rd spot at this time regardless of all the troll votes this thread will collect.

Love the pool chemicstry, it's been running well. Thanks for all the work you do!
1539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Mining pool website not allowed in signature? on: May 28, 2013, 01:24:44 PM
Seems like you're having no trouble with it  Tongue It was fine for days then I see "Link Removed" in my signature.

Try making a link to a pools "post" here in the forums... That is usually "tolerated" as it is an "internal link", and cant be used to "direct people to malware". (Not that your link did that... but you don't control what that website places on its pages.)

I am sure it was a general protection. (Should also make you wonder... why DID they remove it. Is that pool legitimate? Do they have issues with that pool? Is it a malware-infected ad-site?)

Also, if you SPAM, and direct people to your signature... they shun on that.

I took your advice, we will see if it gets taken down again!
1540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Mining pool website not allowed in signature? on: May 28, 2013, 01:16:56 PM
I suppose there is sound reasoning behind it. No the pool is a solid ppc pool. It's chemicstry's D7 PPC pool. If there's any malware on it, it's definitely slipped by me and a couple hundred other people  Grin
