Is there any sort of formula to calculate the approximate time to mint a PoS block? Feeling like I have no luck over here Yeah I downloaded the wallet and got a small pile of coins but can't tell if i am even staking. Coin maturity is 30 days. i.e. coins must sit untouched at the EMC address for 30 days before being eligible for staking. If they have then the coins should attempt to stake (so long as the wallet is unlocked and you have not set a "reservebalance" in the .config) Oh I know that, coin maturity or staking is not the problem here. It looks like I've been staking, perhaps I'm just luckless so far same here, unlucky or something is wrong, im minting with coins from 2014, is the pos diff that high? Block explorer shows the PoS diff at 34.25... Maybe whales are just killing us with their holdings. Edit: just read your edit. I suppose that makes sense. Perhaps patience is key. I was thinking I'd see at least some sort of small block to this point though.

Does anyone have evidence that the story posted on the cryptsy blog might be true? Or just an out to run away with the coins?
I find it very hard to believe that if the coins were stolen from someone outside the company, that they wouldn't have been moved or sold by now. At least SOME of them.

Honestly, I think we'll be getting to like .0018 pretty soon. Especially with a Polo add. And with a Polo add we should see price hit about where FCT is at 26
And that is just the first wave of the new year! Maybe people are realizing the coin actually has real world uses other than just simple trading.

Honestly sounds like you might be better off doing a clean install of it. Just back up your wallet, uninstall the program, and wipe out anything that's left in appdata or program files directories (assuming this is windows). Reinstall and let it resync after that.
i think that has already been tried, deleting blockchain and redownloading, it got stuck, for me it did work tho , maybe patience is the magic ingredient I just didn't know if he actually wiped out the program files too, who knows what could be wrong with his install

IMPORTANT - FORK!
There is fork happening in the EmerCoin network after block 136404. Some clients do not receive correct block 136405, and continue staking.
Please, check your client. Run from console:
getcheckpoint
If it prints: { "synccheckpoint" : "0000000000000006d2010d4a879378a448c4a12e156127d7a7753b93fccb676d", "height" : 136404, "timestamp" : "2015-11-29 17:17:16 UTC" }
then your client has been affected by fork.
To resolve this issue, needed re-download blockchain again. To do this: 1. stop emercoin program 2. Backup your wallet.dat (not necessary, but this is more safe) 3. Delete all files, but wallet.dat and emercoin.conf in the directory windows: C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\EmerCoin linix: ./emercoin 4. Restart emercoin program. Wait for ~30 minutes to reload blockchain.
We're working for investigate this issue, and will release patch soon.
Thanks you for patience.
I will have to wait for a patch. Deleting files and redownloading block index has stuck. I am still here.. downloading blockchain is stuck on 134081 and 163997 84.17% completed from last 40mins. WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for blockchain to download, or notify developer of the issue. Honestly sounds like you might be better off doing a clean install of it. Just back up your wallet, uninstall the program, and wipe out anything that's left in appdata or program files directories (assuming this is windows). Reinstall and let it resync after that.

Hello!
I just want to mine ALTCOIN with my antminer S1 and my two antminer U3
I've some 300 Gh/s hashrate, so can you give me a good Altcoin sha to mine?
I don't want to mine BTC, because my hashrate is to low!!!
At this time i've found a crypto who gives me 6 USD/day
But i want to know if i can maximize my profit!
I know coinwarz.com but it doesn't have the entire crypto coin list.
So Did you have a good sha256 coin to mine with 300Gh/s hashrate?
Thank's

Excellent article, I certainly enjoyed reading it. I was out of the crypto currency scene for a little while since I first started in early 2013. When I returned to the forums here a few months ago I was perplexed as to how Emercoin already offers so many services other platforms don't, and why there was a seeming lack of interest from much of the community here. Most definitely "flying under the radar" Looks like that's turning around rapidly and 2016 is shaping up to be a great year for Emercoin.

Uh-Oh, looks like they're having some trouble of their own today... " Important System Notification Phishing Attempt:: There is a phishing attempt going around prompting users to go to a cryptsy-refund website. Do not go to this website or give your login details on any website other than the official Cryptsy website. There were two avenues of the Phishing attempt. One was via SMS, using our provider Twilio and gained entry into our logs and sending ability via a weak password on that account. The passwords on this account have been secured. The other avenue was via email using the same mailing service we use (Mailgun), but was not sent using our account. It is uncertain where the email list for this Phishing attempt was attained from, as we do not show any unauthorized access to our Mailgun account nor our internal systems. We are still investigating this matter. If you were a victim of this phishing, you should log into your account at Cryptsy immediately and do the following: 1. Change your password and enable 2fa if you don’t already have it enabled. 2. Check your pending withdrawals, we currently have withdrawals disabled so if you see one that shouldn’t be there you can request to have it cancelled. Regarding other issues that have been apparent at Cryptsy for the last couple months, I will be making another post to explain what has been happening in the next couple days. BigVern UNTIL WE ARE ABLE TO DETERMINE EXTENT OF THE PHISHING ATTEMPT, ALL WITHDRAWALS WILL BE CANCELLED AND ARE PAUSED "

Any idea why when I turn PoS minting on, my wallet goes out of sync after a little while? I'm running 0.3.7, it will show that the current correct number of blocks was downloaded, but behave as if I'm about 16k blocks behind, showing a total block number that hasn't even been reached yet.
It does not do this is PoS minting is not activated.
This specific issue I have never heard of before so I will pass this note onto our development team. Excellent, thank you. I might just back up and do a total fresh install and redownload to see if that helps. Definitely a strange one though. I have yet to mine my first EMC PoS block

It looks like the tides are finally turning for PPC - Development speed increasing - Google trend metrics starting to go up - https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=peercoin- Price is holding steady around $0.4, almost twice Peercoin's low in the long bear market - B&C decentralised exchange, which is nearly ready, will expose many new people the the Peercoin ecosystem This is all great news. There's also been a pretty steady raise of difficulty in the past few weeks, though this may partially be from the simple fact that Bitcoin difficulty is continuing to soar making miners seek an alternative.

What antivirus program do you have? Post results. It's probably the same false positive other people have seen before.

Nvm that, premine seems to get dumped anyway. Else no way its worth to dump 3k almost 10k at 210 sats with 20 as block rewards. Was there a dump? Looks like vol is at .77 btc right now
