481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a criminal tool? on: March 23, 2018, 07:43:13 AM
yes it can be a tool for illegal transactions, actually anything of value can be a tool for schemes and all kinds of illegitimate activities, it depends on the persons transacting that tool, even cash is an obvious tool for such acts, that is why i think regulating bitcoin transactions is needed, if it is regulated, backed by laws or legalities, we can lessen this kind of awful schemes. since bitcoin is just a tool with so much potentialities, almost everything can be done just like on cash or fiats. again, it is based on human intervention. bitcoin can good or bad, depending on the user.
482  Other / Archival / Re: Help a Beginner to understand... on: March 23, 2018, 05:27:17 AM
Hello guys...

I have diversified my portfolio to about 25 different cryptos which were worth about 7000-8000$ just before the bitcoin crash came and I am wondering whats the exact reason behind this, when or will it recover (and so the alt coins I hold, don't have any bitcoin).

Why do almost all alt coins crash because of the bitcoin crash or correction?

My portfolio is worth only 4000$ atm.

Sorry for being an beginning idiot and asking this and thanks for everybody who can explain it to me

if all traders did the same strategy as you did, then we are really seing why the price of bitcoin crashed, you see, trading depends on the market share of a specific coin. the value of its market cap matters, if all or most of the traders will buy lots of different coins at the same time, the demand for bitcoin crashes too, you sell, therefore the supply increases, there you create a trend, if you HODL, then the supply will decrease, then the price or value of bitcoin will increase, if it happens, that is the time to sell again, that is how it works. same goes with alt coins.
483  Economy / Economics / Re: I want to invest more of what I don't have (money) on: March 23, 2018, 05:17:50 AM
if you are really itching to invest now but do not have funds, there are sites that lends coins, they can help people like you, but be careful, those coins you mentioned are not so recommended, if i were you, i would try to be patient, investing is good if you are sure on what you are entering, if it has a sure profit then go, but if you will gamble or risk your chances that are obviously low, then you better think twice, you should invest only what you can afford to loose, you are missing the most important thing in investing, you are lacking of funds. if you are to go to lending sites, it is your choice, but be careful and hope you will have a good luck dude.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Good Reason to Own Some BTC on: March 23, 2018, 04:38:42 AM
...

If you are traveling and lose your credit card, but in a country that has a reasonably active Bitcoin scene, you can sell some BTC to pay bills while "over there".

This may become an issue for us.

Here is a case for having an online wallet, "travels anywhere".

this will be beneficial only for countries that accepts bitcoin payments, as of today, we are still experiencing limited purchasing power using bitcoin, it is still best to travel to countries that are open to bitcoin, if not, you still have to use the conventional credit card or cash. but i think, in the near future, lots of merchants will be engaging in btc trading and e-commerce, meanwhile, let us all be patient.
485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lots of recycled threads on: March 22, 2018, 06:42:42 AM
I don't understand what you mean by don't reply to a thread with hundreds of replies?

First you advise newbs not to make new threads about re-hashed topics.... Then you tell us not to reply to an existing thread with hundreds of replies... so which is it?

say I wanted to talk about why Bitcoin doesn't offer enough replay protection. So I'm itching to start a new thread on that, but I want to be responsible, so I use the search function first to see if it exists... And it turns out that it exists.

But the thread that exists has 100s of replies... does that mean I can't post my opinoin now on either a new thread or the old thread?

So what do I do? I don't understand.

Do newbs get banned just for doing this? Seems unfair?

i understand, you are confused, you shouldn't be here in the first place, but since you are one of those confused newbies, let me enlighten you and help you to understand more on how things go around in this forum.

i have advised  (in my own opinion only) newbies not to reply on a hundred-replied topics, why? because , do you think all those replies are unique from each replies? since some users are not reading, they tend to post their reply not knowing somebody have already said the same thing, rule is, do not post your opinion that has already been written by somebody ahead of you. same goes in creating threads, newbies are advised to spend more time to read first.

if you are itching to create your own topic, without even checking if it has already been posted, your post will be considered as sh!t post or topic. it will be deleted and eventually you will be banned if this act is repeatedly done. try to create more timely and relevant threads, as informative as possible. scratch your itchy heads more for you to think of more current issues.

it is not unfair, the mod are just protecting the quality of this forum, newbies are pushed to create more efficient and constructive post because this forum is being plagued by sh!t posters.

and to remind you, this is just an advise, it is for you to follow or not. i am not asking you or telling you to do so.
486  Economy / Economics / Re: Can you start from zero cash and make a living with the opportunities in crypto? on: March 22, 2018, 05:41:02 AM
Is not my case, I do have some savings so I didnīt start from absolutely nothing, but I had not much to start with. I am having a decent go at cryptos and I think it may be possible to make a living... What could be a good strategy?

actually, we can start from zero fund, as for me, i started to join campaigns for almost 6 months now, i have earn some bitcoin in my crypto wallet, then i have traded a portion of it, there are gains and lot's of loss, but that is how trading works, all i need is patience and a good internet connection, im sure lot's of people here in this forum are the same as my story, my strategy is to invest only what i can afford to loose, maybe a portion of my earnings, read a lot and do not be easily swayed by the trend especially when the price of bitcoin is low, look at it as an opportunity to buy more bitcoin at a lower price then wait for the time when the price roll up, then sell. as simple as that, surely puts money in my pocket.
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Friendly countries on: March 22, 2018, 03:27:26 AM
Philippines are open to bitcoin, we have here a couple of exchange sites, there are so many people here that are in trading and networking using bitcoin, though not all are legit. our government even supports bitcoin but they are willing to regulate it to protect our people against scams and illegal transactions, we are fortunate that bitcoin are freely running and our government is eyeing to develop bitcoin for the welfare of the people who are into it.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency could help your business or not? on: March 22, 2018, 01:47:55 AM

489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on tv series on: March 22, 2018, 01:38:10 AM
bitcoin has already featured in the mainstream medias such as tv programs, documentaries, radio discussions and of course the most lucrative is the internet, all of them have affected the current status of bitcoin, may it be good or bad publicity, it really somehow affects the price of bitcoin.
490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What major factors affect bitcoin price? on: March 22, 2018, 01:17:13 AM
I am a total newbie to this forum and don't know very much about crypto currencies.

What are major factors affecting bitcoin (or any other crypto currency) price? Is this mostly supply and demand, do other factors (difficulty of mining, hash rate, etc) play significant role in bitcoins price?

there are so many factors that affects the price of bitcoin, supply and demand based on the market, popularity of bitcoin, mining, FUD, fake news, negative write-ups and misleading information regarding bitcoin's legality, lack of institutions that accepts bitcoin as payment, scams all over the internet and mostly the fabrication of other cryptocurrencies that took a huge part of the total market share of bitcoin. but i think the most influential factor are the big whales that makes a synchronized waves to HODL coins.

these factors are being addressed and survived by bitcoin so do not worry, these are part of the cycle in bitcoin world.
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin worth risking your time and money? on: March 22, 2018, 01:05:45 AM
We all know that involving in bitcoin it takes your time and also money. Is it worthy to risk your time and money because of bitcoin?

in order for one to get rich, he needs to take all kinds of risks when investing, we cannot get money while doing nothing, bitcoin in terms of investments require more time and of course money, time for studying, reading and analyzing the market cap then coming up with a decision whether it is time to sell or buy depending on the current market status, it needs money because we cannot have a profit if we have no money to invest, if we want to earn big, we should invest big amount too, when we speak of risk, we cannot say directly that bitcoin has a 100% sure profit returns, we must study the market trend, holding your assets and selling it at the right moment, if we can harness the timing, then it is worthy to make bitcoin trading as your primary career.
492  Economy / Economics / Re: PNB looks into use of bitcoin! on: March 21, 2018, 03:48:19 AM
although this is just a plan, i am thrilled how different country accepts bitcoin platforms, slowly adapting bitcoin to its financial aspects. such country is fortunate if their government is open to cryptocurrencies, i hope others will follow. PNB has a big market shares in banking world in that country, i think considering bitcoin by such bank is a great help for bitcoin in terms of gaining consumer trust and confident in entering crypto world.
493  Economy / Economics / Re: positive effect of ban from facebook and google on: March 21, 2018, 02:32:57 AM
i think we should not blame google and facebook only, it depends solely on the readers themselves, jumping into bitcoin without further research or they are lack of knowledge if an ad is fake or not. but this idea is somehow points us towards a safer site to invest. if ads are being scanned and thoroughly filtered by facebook, to know if an a is legit or not, then we are seeing a good relationship between crypto and social media that we all know plays a greater part for bitcoin to grow.
494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you support to open bitcoin or crypto in college level? on: March 21, 2018, 01:38:37 AM
if taxation and financial management are being taught in college, there are no reason for bitcoin not to be part of a college curriculum, if it deems necessary depending of the state where bitcoin is already accepted, maybe not now but in the future, studying bitcoin can even be taught to grade schools because currencies are being introduce to kids as early as grade schools. but as basic knowledge about bitcoin should be taught, not trading as it is so complicated.
495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHY PANIC? Regulation talks are positive on: March 21, 2018, 01:05:21 AM
regulation is really needed, so bitcoin can be widely move around the globe and not just a specific country that is open to cryptocurrencies, the idea of these talks and information dissemination proves that bitcoin have a big potential in terms of growth and making its way to open consumers. regulating bitcoin is better than banning it. it means that IMF and other leaders are seeing long term advantages of using crypto. as what they say, it will not compromise the nature of being decentralized, it will limit only on exchange sites, and this is inevitable, whether we like it or not, for us to convert it to any fiat, exchange sites are needed. what they limit is the transactions by tracking the movements and they cannot know from whom the funds came from. so, chill out guys.
