521  Other / Meta / Re: Thin (!!!) strategy to earn more Merit on: March 01, 2018, 03:40:55 AM
I just came here because of your clickbait title. I just read through the thread, and this is all I have to say:

Stop trying so hard to earn merit. Your post history is worse than decent, and although the quality has been getting better recently (meaning the past few weeks), it's an obvious ploy to try to earn more Merit (keyword: obvious). I'd just like to point out the fact that I (and more than likely others) do not tend to merit posts that are obviously looking for merit.

Contribute something more natural to conversation. Take time to partake and engage in topics that are relevant and topical to Bitcoin. If you don't know what people are talking about in the topic, do a little Google search and try to gain knowledge on the subject matter, and then ask questions that show genuine interest. If your post is genuine, it will show through; especially if we can see that you've taken the time to be a part of a larger conversation rather than just contributing to megathreads.

Give yourself some time and explore the vast sea that is this forum. Get involved, and make some friends.

But do NOT post passive aggressive topics that turn into sucking up to others. That's the vibe I'm getting from you in this thread. It's unnatural, forced, and quite frankly, awkward as hell.

the problem with this people, they are envious to others that have granted merits, they pulled you down when you have been merited, rank is not a basis if it is highly deserves a merit or not, some newbies have better posts and of quality than higher ranked members, rank is just a laddered system, all high ranked members started as newbies. merits is just a part of that system. if 2 persons are giving each other merits, maybe you should look at their posts and not just the merit exchange, regardless of their ranks.
522  Other / Meta / Re: Mods. I believe threads like these need to be locked. Need your opinion on: March 01, 2018, 03:15:11 AM
is there any way to limit a thread to just 20 pages, so there would not be spamming of repeated and similar views or replies of that specific thread, that way, it will not be so difficult to back read a hundred- paged thread even thousands, it is true, it is difficult for an OP to read a thread with thousands of pages. bitcoin discussion threads is over populated by quality and not so quality posts. there are hard-headed people that doesn't read if his post has a similar reply. just a thought.
523  Economy / Economics / Re: There's a new economy growing on this forum - Merit on: March 01, 2018, 03:00:38 AM
I love this new merit system. And I see its use beginning to form a new type of economy here, anyone else see it?

I'm not talking about selling merit. There's been a lot of talk about such but I don't think many transactions are occurring. What is happening is that as everyone spends their merit there becomes significantly fewer people that have any to spend. So the sources become fewer and more centralized and the competition to get merit increases.

Feels like an economy on the verge of recession. Fortunately, merit isn't worth much!

maybe you are talking about the demands of having a merit, well that is one of the repercussion of this merit system. for us to rank up, we almost literally beg for anyone to give us a single merit. but we should not be whining about this, we should look at it as a chance to uplift or improve better posting and comments. some are finding ways to contribute informative threads which is a better way to earn merits. it is like hitting two birds with one stone, we earn merits and we have contribute something to improve this site, as we all know, posting is the main source of earning bitcoin, which will eventually attracts more company that seeks service to boost their products via signature campaigns.

535  Economy / Economics / Re: Do we need regulations? on: February 07, 2018, 03:46:39 PM
How do you guys think? Do we need regulations in the crypto world? Should only ICO be regulated or legit coins (not "security tokens") too? Can we implement regulations mechanisms in code so that corrupted governmental institutions couldn't manipulate the industry? Can we still have free market with governments' regulations across the world?

Please, share your thoughts. I'm a bit confused about what's happening right now.

It really depends on what aspect of  bitcoin should be regulated, there are many things or factors to be considered, the use of bitcoin in funding illegal activities, product or services, illegal acquisition of bitcoin thru scams and schemes, high transfer fees,  as for the marketing, globally, bitcoin is not yet accepted therefore it ccnnot be regulated by any country.
536  Economy / Economics / Re: until when will the bounty program remain? on: February 07, 2018, 03:26:18 PM
Bounty campaigns will remain in forums and online jobs sites as long as there are companies that needs a boost on their product  marketing strategies. It is a service that rewards or pay bitcoin for the service rendered by a ranking member, it is not a gift.
537  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Etherdelta Wallet Deposit Problem on: February 07, 2018, 09:01:52 AM
Etherdelta requires more eth to deposit, there is a fee when you transfer funds, maybe the amount you transferred is not sufficient to cover the fee, therefore resulting error message. i think for us to transfer to etherdelta, we must have at least .01 eth. maybe the load of transactions as it accommodate many request put the site down, we should wait for further announcement from the admin of that site.
538  Economy / Economics / Re: Inheriting Cryptos on: February 07, 2018, 07:48:40 AM
I was thinking the other day, of the eventuality of inheritance and cryptos.

We are all busy trading and hoarding as many coins as we can in the hope to be self sufficient later on down the road, but we should remember to have a plan to share the details, or all could be in vein.

Should there not be a mechanism allowing the inheritance of coins which have not be transferred during life to ones loved one? If someone is to pass and not provide the access to their wallets these coins are forever lost.

Food for thought.

your problem is quite simple yet substantial, you could just simply give your password and security numbers to your trusted beneficiary, in case your beneficiary are not capable of doing bitcoin transaction due to his or her age, means he is still a minor, you can hire a lawyer to instruct him to make the legal transfer of your documents, basically it is the same as transferring wealth to your loved ones when they reach full capacity to receive such inheritance. dont make your bitcoin life so complicated though.
539  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: the most profitable coin if invested? on: February 07, 2018, 05:53:28 AM
i suggest you to try bitcoin, followed by eth. these are the two dominant coins now, though there are many alt coins that are getting some shares on the market, the first two are better, i also suggest that you should not put all your investments
in one or single coin. if you have plenty of funds, better invest in multiple coins, it is safer to do to protect all your assets.
540  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you wondering what's happening with bitcoin? on: February 07, 2018, 05:14:31 AM
wow, looking at the charts really helps us in trading, sadly, i have learn other reasons why bitcoin price is low today, the waves that other whales are doing, the continuing decrease of bitcoin's market share because of other cryptocurrencies that popped up nowadays, the panic selling of newbies in trading. wow, how can we get a load of these factors affecting bitcoin price. i guess my stand in holding bitcoin really is important today. i hope everybody should do the same. small traders must unite to kick those big whales.
