1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would be your SR auction bid? on: June 15, 2014, 04:19:03 AM
the US MARSHAL/Treasury are asking for $200K CASH  up front in order to even register for this auction. At current market prices I say someone with big bucks and balls can snatch them all up for $400 each maybe a little more or a little less. I imagine they are looking for a buyer to take them all, or at minimum will be selling in $200k chunks...not sure never been to FED auction, and much less to one involving the sale of BITCOINS....wowser!!
2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: June 07, 2014, 02:18:45 PM
This company's rating has changed in the Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide.
thanks for that doggie!!

another suggestion doggie would be if we could see the direction the company is headed, as in this case, not sure if the grade went up or down.

I think it went up, but have been away from the forum for a bit to be able to tell. Maybe like a previous score listing, or and up or down arrown or a red or green...not sure. anyway just a thought.

As for Rockminer, I want to order but will probably wait and then regret it. ha.
3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: June 07, 2014, 01:56:41 AM
Given their history it is extremely unlikely that they would try to pull a scam like that. So far all I've seen are renders. The good thing about this is that they basically automatically drop in price with the difficulty. I'm definitely going to wait until they are in stock by a trusted reseller like Canary, but this gives me time to save my coins.
Maj, what history do you speak of??

They are closely tied/allied to/with ASICMINER are they not? Hmm, maybe I am wrong here, which would certainly explain why I was excited about this deal... hrm.

I kinda figured something like that....especially with the cat as an avatar. I didn't know we could change avatar's??

Anyway, I wish to dive in but am afraid of it being a mirage and sucking nothing but the sand!

Wondering if anyone has seen an rx-box in the wild or been to the factory or have any other proof that these guys are fully legit for the next product they are offering. I see some r-boxes in the wild but now we are talking about 4 BTC per order and that makes me cringe after all the nasties from BFL to Hashnuts to Coinnevra to KNfleeCe

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: May 02, 2014, 04:40:57 AM
I had one controller set with 2 boxes of miners (the only ones which seemed to be functioning) and hashing as expected at 1 TH/s on overnight to test them. This morning 5 out of the 6 ASIC boards had shut down, very likely due to the high temperatures. Even I have built them up in an airconditioned office room with 20 degrees and good ventilation. My "miner" office which I had especially rented to run my Bitcoin farm is in an office complex where other people also run their servers. Now I have paid 10.000 USD and received a pile of junk, invested lots of money in buying PSU, a small computer, paid my technician to set up everything professionally, rented an office and have miners which do NOT EVEN F******** work!

I am sorry KnC, but I really have enough and if you read the forum, so does everyone who has received their "Super" Junk. Not only that those miners don't function properly they are so badly constructed and get so hot that they are dangerous. My technician who had built up many server farms and is highly skilled advised me not to run those miners unsupervised and only in a factory surrounding where if they start to burn the damage would be limited!!!!!!!!!

I have written to KnC, informed Sam and Customer Support, have taken lots of picture evidence during yesterdays 12 hours testing marathon and have the testimony of a licensed technician.

This is not what I have paid for and 10.000 USD is a lot of money.

I am sorry KnC, I always supported you and had hoped that you would make things right, but reading so many other horror stories in almost every forum about the 3TH Super Junior it seems you have just tried to make a quick buck by freeing space for 400 Neptunes for people who didn't want to wait until you say you would deliver them. It was obvious from the comments from other customers that the boxes have been taken from your data centre in North Sweden, thus are used and have already brought their ROI for you. Those were shipped carelessly and only partially or non functioning to customers who had all invested their money to buy a quality miner similar to the Jupiters you had delivered before.

I doubt that this action is legal and unless KnC is refunding my money (I am willing to ship back the whole crap to KnC but NOT on my expenses) or finds another solution for me, I will join a class lawsuit. Those "miners" which KnC has sent out are dangerous, they overheat, they are not proper secured, parts are missing or loosely assembled, they are a danger to have them around.

How will KnC react if due to their miners and apartment catches fire and there is loss of life?

KnC has to react now and not just patch up their delivery hoping the shitstorm calms down.

YOUR 3TH SUPER JUPITER MINERS ARE DANGEROUS TO RUN FOR CUSTOMERS - every technician can verify this.

Please find a solution immediately.

read below, I already found mine.

6TH/s of BROKENJUPS for .99 cents.....have at it. And I still have yet to hear anything from KNC other than their initial "we'll make it better" statement. Seems like only 1 person oddly enough has received replacement boards (shill??), knc misinformation??

whatever, that is what I think its worth. .99 cents. write about that coindesk!!

15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 29, 2014, 08:25:23 PM
^mine arrived the exact same with the foam strips and good shape. also had 2 or 3 screws that were free-spinning that i pried out with a knife
3 out of 3 had the plastic sleeves and the foam on the case. 1 unit was still internally exploded and had to RMA 1 blade.

If they make the case internally stronger, and maybe some of that tape and/or foam they use when shipping printers then it will be good UNLIKE KNFLEE

I hate to be the one to break the news to you fellas, but bitcoin @ $1 is just as useful as bitcoin @ $400.

There's truth to this. There's no "reason" bitcoin has to be valued high, it's just up to what folks are willing to pay for it. Folks are just gambling that the long term value is high.
so we agree that bitcoin have value. Good.

now 12.5 million coins (give or take a few) for 6/7 billion earthlings = scarcity

according to the of economics, this makes bitcoin rare and therefore valuable. How valuable will depend on its ubiquity.

Is it possible that bittech got killed by a tornado in the USA on his vacation?
I don't know, I just know that I don't have a 1TH miner as ordered, nor a tracking number nor the bitcoin used in this transaction, AH, but I do have the security of ESCROW through OGNASTY....so we'll see what happens.
