Wondering if anyone has seen an rx-box in the wild or been to the factory or have any other proof that these guys are fully legit for the next product they are offering. I see some r-boxes in the wild but now we are talking about 4 BTC per order and that makes me cringe after all the nasties from BFL to Hashnuts to Coinnevra to KNfleeCe

Given their history it is extremely unlikely that they would try to pull a scam like that. So far all I've seen are renders. The good thing about this is that they basically automatically drop in price with the difficulty. I'm definitely going to wait until they are in stock by a trusted reseller like Canary, but this gives me time to save my coins.

They are closely tied/allied to/with ASICMINER are they not? Hmm, maybe I am wrong here, which would certainly explain why I was excited about this deal... hrm.

well it is
4 units
4 btc
2.4th
2880watts

I have psu's I can do up to 4k watts in my garage.  but  I know the summer is on the way and running 2.4th at 2880 watts is not going to happen for me.

my cash outlay or btc outlay is 2600 because I have enough psu's.

I just don't want to burn  close to 3000 watts in the summer. oh well.

i get a pair of the 30gh units tomorrow.  I just may buy a few more of them

I dont like how they just adjusted 1 unit = 4 @ 600ghs when it was 1 unit = 2 @ 600ghs.  But I guess thats what we were assuming it was and never got a clear answer. Roll Eyes

4 pieces running in the summer is a lot of heat for a home owner not going to happen in my house/garage.

These should be small and hopefully not ovens like antminers.  I was interested until the minimum price jumped.  The wattage is a little better than the ants.  But it is true, my garage is 105 degrees now and it's only 70 outside. Angry

Where have they done that, on their site it still has the 2 @ 600 GH option

I kinda figured something like that....especially with the cat as an avatar. I didn't know we could change avatar's??

Anyway, I wish to dive in but am afraid of it being a mirage and sucking nothing but the sand!

Per GH/s they may run cooler, but it is still 2880 watts that needs to be cooled somehow, regardless of the size. My garage is "overheating" when it is closed during the day with 1440-ish watts in 4 S1.

rockxie,
it's still a bit confusing.
Let me repeat what I understood and ask for clarification:

it's 1 btc per xrbox (minimum order 4) ?
when we receive the xrbox, we mine for ourselves, not for rockminer?
if after 60 days of mining, 1 btc is not mined back (or USD equivalent, reference $650/USD) then you will pay back the difference to bring the total to 1 btc (or USD equivalent with starting reference of $650/USD)

it's 1 btc per xrbox (minimum order 4) ?
Yes,1 RX-BOX=1BTC

when we receive the xrbox, we mine for ourselves, not for rockminer?

For R60 we have two different understanding:

To ROCKMINER: Miners help ROCKMINER to host RX-BOX for 60 days after paid the hosting deposit, after hosting 60 days, ROCKMINER will refund the hosting deposit (subtracting the theoretical income),then ownership of RX-BOX will be transfered to miners.

To miner: An insurance for the mining machine is added when he buy a RX-BOX, He will earn back his cost of miner after 60 days, no matter how difficult soar, no need to worry.

Yes.but this is the theoretical income.
Here is the  theoretical income of 600G in last period : http://www.rockminer.com/R60/mining_calculator.php?hash=600000&sec=1076243&diff=10455720138

I am sorry, but it is still confusing:

1. What is the minimal order? 1, 2 or 4?
2. Can 1 RX-box function on its own while connected to a router?
3. If not, what is needed in addition?
4. marketing materials need work

1) The 60 day hosting peroid begins on day of delivery. What is in place to help guarantee timely delivery?

R60 starts on day of receiving,we will leave 3~5 days after shipping. And our resellers are also can help us solve this problem.

2) Do we have control over which pool the RX-Box is directed to (wallet also) at all times?

Yes,you have the RX-BOX,it is a normal mining machine.

3) Is our 1BTC per RX-Box hosting deposit held in escrow? If so will it be held until the full 60 days hosting period has passed even if RX-Box is delivered 8 weeks late?

No,we need money to reproduction, this is one of the reasons we do this project. We will start shipping on 25th this month.

4) Is there a cancelation policy in place if you deliver late?

We will cancel orders and refund the hosting deposit if we can't ship out in JUNE and users ask to refund.

5) How can we be sure you will pay any shortage of earned BTC?

Just with ROCKMINER's company's reputation.

6) Your site does not allow selection of country or cities for shipping calculations in the checkout section!

Should be fixed now, please re-check it.

I'm sure the change of 2 to 4 may be problematic with some country's customs.

Not only in 3rd world countries, but EU country also has what may be considered as "individual use" VS "commercial use"
This isn't like usb flash drives or risers but is quite a bulky electronic unit and something like that where i live qty over 3 units in one package is considered "commercial use" and thus require special permit from trade ministry. Unless of course you separate the 4 units into 4 shipping with different tracking numbers and receivers, still what a hassle..

I was lucky with antminer s1 since I ASKED, so before you order anything guys, check with your local customs.

R60 is very interesting. It is too bad minimum order quantity is 4 though. The problem being that the set would require more current than a single US circuit can provide. So if we haven't already run electric for a small farm then we are either doing that or running extension cords or networking cable to connect to the Pi.

I'm thinking about this from the perspective that was mentioned: getting more people involved in mining. This is targeted at someone with lower risk tolerance, who may not already be involved in mining, but who still has the infrastructure or space to run something that power hungry (in Quantity 4). It seems like a narrow market.

Is R60 going to be sold by resellers in quantity 1 or only in higher quantity?

Thanks.

Yes. Directly buying from ROCKMINER official website, minimum order is 4 units. If just buy 1, you may buy from reseller.

For domestic China market, we sell by minimum order of 2 units while for non-China market minimum order is 4 units.  If one wants to buy less than 4, buy from our resellers.
