Wow, that was a fast turn-around from the T1 to the T2. I can't wait to do a review!

You're not alone...  Cheesy

Any cpu mining results?

Not yet. And Bytom wallet v1.0.0 (Bytom-Wallet-desktop-Windows64-1.0.0) closes from time to time without any visible reason.
Bytom_official, are you going to do something with this issue? I see this on 2 different PCs, both under Windows 7 x64 with all recent updates, one with Ryzen 7 1700, another with FX-8350 (non-overclocked CPUs).

484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 Released on: April 25, 2018, 06:01:53 AM
Hi all!

I am trying to rescue some BTCs from "wallet.dat corrupt, salvage failed"... I have tried many different things without success. Pywallet, for example, doesn't find anything at all in this wallet.dat. But it found some keys in another wallet.dat...

Anyway, now I'm trying to take a clear, unmodified copy of wallet.dat which is corrupted from the Bitcoin Core's point of view and try to -salvagewallet it.

Here is the log:
Code:

Why can't Bitcoin Core can't simply rename wallet.dat? Under Windows there is completely same problem...

Here are all the permissions and users:

How to make a -salvagewallet option work as it should?

p.s. even when I start bitcoind without GUI witl a -salvagewallet option, even when I start it under sudo - it still can't rename wallet.dat...

Remember Zcash start.

If you can't sync, go into %appdata%\Bytom and delete addrbook.json

I've been mining since block 1400 with 4 nodes, no dice. Devs confirmed that ASICs are on the network already said that only CPU/ASIC is currently supported, GPU will need to wait for the community or the team to write code for it.

May be you also know how to make a Bytom wallet load the CPU more than only 22-25%?

And does the wallet need some ports to be opened to be a Bytom node available to other Bytom wallets?

Anyone successfully syncing to mainnet yet?

I am starting to.

Will try to mine some coins with Ryzen 1700...
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ravencoin Miner: an optimized open source miner for Ravencoin on: April 24, 2018, 11:39:19 AM
Ravencoin Miner v2.6 has been released!

Ravencoin Miner: an optimized open source miner created specifically for Ravencoin.
v2.6
Improvements to poolside hash rate stability (recommended to use lower than normal stratum difficulty)
Difficulty recommendation:
d=Hashrate/2
d=Hashrate/3
Improvements to all hash functions
Improved power efficiency
https://github.com/Ravencoin-Miner/Ravencoin/releases

Why there are 4 instances of miner in example .bat?

p.s. I have successfully mined Ravencoin with suprminer 1.6 at Coinblockers. But now when I try to start your miner it crashes each time:

What does it need to start successfully?

490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: miner for Lyra2REv2 ? on: April 24, 2018, 11:18:36 AM
I use VTCminer pushed out by vertcoin team. Much more efficent even with the 2 percent fee

Is there any more efficient miner now?
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BYTOM: An interoperational protocol for diversified byte assets on: April 24, 2018, 11:07:26 AM
But if it's mineable - who mine it so far?
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BYTOM: An interoperational protocol for diversified byte assets on: April 24, 2018, 10:26:53 AM
This is a fragment from the site bytom.io

"POW algorithm that is friendly to AI ASIC-chips
Use a new POW algorithm, Matrix and convolution calculation is introduced
into the hashing process so that the miners can be used for AI hardware acceleration services."

So bytom can be mine.
Can anyone tell me how and where?

Looks like Bitmain will sell these miners soon. Now guess who stands behind the Bytom. And do we need this strange and highly centralized cryptocurrency?

Please share the list off currently available and active nodes. My DEM wallet is running for several days but there is still only one connection to DEM network.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: April 20, 2018, 07:20:22 AM
I found on of 2 my D3s is disconnected from dash.miningpoolhub.com. Reboot did not help. I created new worker for this D3, but it didn't help too.

Furthermore, I decided to point one of my scrypt miners to verge-scrypt.miningpoolhub.com, but the miner was not able to connect too. What;s wrong with Miningpoolhub?
495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-qt: wallet.dat corrupt, salvage failed on: April 20, 2018, 01:28:37 AM
It would appear that you wallet.dat is completely corrupted and PyWallet is unable to find anything that appears to be keys etc. Undecided

Is that wallet.dat the "original" file or one that you've already attempted to use -salvagewallet on?
Probably it's a "salvagewalleted" copy. I'll try to scan original copy.

p.s. no matter which copy I use - there is still no result.
496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-qt: wallet.dat corrupt, salvage failed on: April 19, 2018, 08:46:24 AM
Make sure that you have a backup of the corrupted wallet before doing this even though it's corrupted back ups are handy to keep around to try other ways of recovering the data. You could create a small partition on a flash drive, and copy the corrupted wallet.dat to that partition. Before following this guide you can also try and find the mkey and ckey with a hex editor to see if there are any addresses that are in the corrupted file.

Then run this via pywallet command:
Code:
 sudo ./pywallet.py --recover --recov_device <location of partition> --recov_size 1Gio --recov_outputdir <Your desired location>
If the command worked correctly, it will now ask you to enter your password, which if correct will then show a message along the lines of:
Code:
All the found encrypted private keys have been decrypted.
The wallet is encrypted and the passphrase is correct

If everything has been followed and has worked it should then start importing the keys, which you can then check to see if any of these change addresses contain any of your Bitcoin.

I have successfully copied wallet.dat that is "corrupt, salvage failed". I'm trying to recover it with pywallet following your advice (I found some old 2.5" HDD for that and made an 1Gb partition), but with no result no matter what exactly am I trying to do. I was trying to recover the wallet reading the partition first and then the file itself, but every time I get this (in case of partition reading):

or this (in case of readinf the wallet.dat itself):

Note that I know the password for damaged wallet.dat, but why there are no any keys after scanning?

In case of another wallet.dat, for which I don't know the exact password, I see some result:

Code:
Read 0.0 Go in 0.0 minutes

Found 1 possible wallets
Found 329 possible encrypted keys
Found 0 possible unencrypted keys

Possible wallet #1
    with passphrase #1

Private keys not decrypted: 329
Trying all the remaining possibilities (329) might take up to 1 minutes.
Do you want to test them? (y/n): y

But how can I recover that first wallet, which seems to be invisible for pywallet?  Undecided
