also if you have 2 s-7's you can pull 1 controller off line and run 6 blades on one controller giving a spare backup controller.
If you have 2 S7s and they are laying at the shelf and mining for you, and then one controller will go down, you lose half of your hashing power. If you connect all S7's boards to one controller and it will then suddenly go down, you lose all your hashing power. Think about it. Better is to connect all S7's boards to remaining controller in case of one controller's failure as an emergency measure.

It seems that someone sent 40BTC to that address yesterday...

Biggest problem with Russia is that they put hefty taxes and duties on packages coming in. If the parts were shipped they'd be "unrecognizable" as the true value and would probably pass the checks with no or a much lower duty on them.
I bought 2 MAT Excaliburs 5 from MCHouston recently. We came to an agreement that the miners will be declared as a used server computers with cost 500$ each and shipped to different addresses to different recipients. Miners has passed the customs without any delays at all.

why you did not directly order it on bitmain's website?
Because it will be much more expensive (BITMAIN pay some fee (1.364 BTC!!!) when ship it via EMS to Russia, and then, when the miner will arrive to Russia, buyer will be forced to pay 30% fee because S7's claimed cost is more than 1000 EUR). For buyer it will be about 2938,62 USD. It's a madness. Furthermore, customs officer can be in bad mood and he|she can say that this equipment is cryptographic equipment and... You have a risk not to get it in hands at all... Sure, I bought S2, 2xS3s, 2xS5s directly from BITMAIN without any problems, but who knows what will be next time...

The price i need pay for s7 alone now is 1823 + 17% tax=2132.91$, other fee: 1: shipment fee:18$
2: 1300w golden PSU: 78$ 3: 3% fee to cover the possible risk, including broken miner and other disrupt during shipment : 64$
total:2292.91$
So, if anyone who want to buy the first batch of s7, let me know
I have an electricity that costs 0.0345$/kWh. So I would like to get S7 in hands. If you can help me with shipping S7 to Russia in disassembled state (boards to one address, other parts to another) for some additional money, please reply to my PM. p.s. sure I'll pay all shipping expenses. p.p.s. I believe it will help you to make some additional money selling several (10-20? I don't know exactly...) units using such a scheme, because many of Russian miners would like to get S7 in hands, but we should pay 30% extra customs fee for all goods if it's price exceed 1000 EUR. It's killing our profit....... But even if we pay all fees, the miner can get stuck at customs and probably you never get it in hands... It's much easier to import some expensive hardware as a spare parts, i.e. disassembled.

BitFury's ASICs will work even better! http://www.coindesk.com/bitfury-completion-16nm-bitcoin-mining-asic/BitFury has announced it has completed the tape-out for its 16NM ASIC bitcoin mining chips, which were first revealed to be in production in February.
The chip will achieve energy efficiency of 0.06 joules per gigahash, compared to the 0.2 joules per gigahash of its 28nm predecessor. BitFury suggested the chip will deliver "four times the compute power" of its previous 28NM chip.

8 BTC? Ouch.
Yeah. For me it's almost 10 BTC (including shipping and other expences especially for those who needs shipping to Russia).

It works now with latest beta of MMinerMonitor53b1:

|

Try the latest beta. It fixes this problem for the S3s, and it should for the S5s. MMinerMonitor53b1.zipNote that I've never physically had an S5 in my possession. That combined with very limited time can make supporting every single little change an iffy proposition. It works! Thanx! p.s. did I say it's S5? It's S2, sorry.

Very, very, very high price. Game over for home mining I guess.
