"Такой же" - наверняка имелось в виду, что а) халявный, б) успешно и беспошлинно прошедший нашу сказочную таможню...

Sure. Try to update a FW (to newer version or to the same version or to any other "third party" version, like this one: https://www.nicehash.com/download/AntMiner-S5-SD-firmware_cgminer_4.9.0_nicehash_and_performance_graph.tar.gz.

I met a problem with one of two S5s one my fellow has bought. One of S5s was beeping periodically in spite that it had an internet access (ping was working normally from it's web interface). I just re-flashed it with new FW (I have posted a link above) and this action has fixed that issue...
1330  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Best Bitcoin Mining hardware ? on: September 17, 2015, 03:07:12 AM

S5 give only 0,01 BTC/day

It is still more than zero.  Wink
1331  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Best Bitcoin Mining hardware ? on: September 16, 2015, 10:04:37 AM
if you are thinking of profits, probably it takes ages to ROI because of maintenance costs and difficulty levels.
Why not to deploy your own mini-farm, especially if you have an access to free (better) or (simple) cheap electricity? ROI will be about 1 year, may be 6-7 monts in case of free electricity. Try to use some bitcoin mining calculators.

If you are just trying it for fun, lets try mining with your computers GPU if you have one, or buy a USB miner for testing.

Here is again the reason to buy S5. It will give you a little amount of BTCs (about 0.02/day), and I boubt GPU or USB miner will.
1332  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Best Bitcoin Mining hardware ? on: September 16, 2015, 08:54:06 AM
At this moment it seems that S5 is the best. You can try to find some used S5s in Marketplace thread. S5+ and S7 are too expensive to buy right now.

Nancy from LKETC wrote to me that they will start sales of their new "16 nm" ASIC-based hardware in December. This should lead to lowering the S5+ and S7 price. That will be the moment to buy it (newest Antminers and LKETC new miner), IMHO.

It's better to use a thermocontractable tube for your PCI-E adapter for powering the controller board.  Wink

Have anyone a valid, working link to MCBIV's 2.0.x firmware?

The link in that blog is empty...

I don't know what hashing board is on the picture, sorry.

Even if ASICs are not the tallest components, you can always use copper or aluminium pads to bypass this limitation.   Wink

They did a good job with it to make the most of airflow for heat dissipation.
Let's wait for a while for heatsinks falling...  Undecided

1338  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: "Miners" looks simple. If You're so smart why not start a company??? on: September 15, 2015, 05:39:05 AM
But a real excuse could be not wanting to bank others' money on it. Some folks don't like going into debt.

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant.
1339  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: "Miners" looks simple. If You're so smart why not start a company??? on: September 15, 2015, 03:40:09 AM
Just because I have no any valuable amount of "spare" money to risk. That's all.  Wink
