It's nice that they have finally decided to use 6pin PCI-E molex power connector.

883  Local / Майнеры / Re: Майнить или нет? (помощь новичку) on: April 19, 2017, 09:42:16 AM

884  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: April 18, 2017, 10:04:21 AM
Also, it will make it cheaper to run a p2pool node, and help p2pool scale.

IMHO to help p2pool scale there should be one or several simple but useful HOWTOs on p2pool node deployment, and these HOWTOs should be constantly kept up-to-date by their maintainers. So every newcomer will be able to deploy a p2pool node completely by himself.

Just my two cents.  Smiley
885  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) Hotmine X5 upgrade kit for Antminer S1/S3/S5 on: April 18, 2017, 07:29:45 AM
By the way, check out the first three posts in this thread and updates by me!
I got the BB board in the mail, and the build is now ready. Smiley

You better cover the sidewalls with some rectangular pieces of plastic (like on original S5s). I guess the surface of PCB on the other side of the radiator should be cooled by the fans too.

Why can't my wallet find any peers? Should I add any nodes or should it work just "out of the box"?

890  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Will Bitmain Antminers S9 and T9 be obsolete if Segwit is launced ? on: April 10, 2017, 06:01:35 AM
So are you saying if those same miners are pointed at Antpool, you will have a gain over other vendors ?
I guess if those same miners are pointed at Antpool by BITMAIN, they will have a gain over other Bitmain's asic miners owners...

Nobody will tell you...  Angry
892  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Soooo, how about that Bitmain? on: April 07, 2017, 08:31:06 AM
I would like to see how some talented guy will develop a hack which will enable this "asic boost" an all Bitmain HW all around the world...

I will not become a millionaire because of that hack, I'd just like to see what will happen then... And what will Bitmain say...
893  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) Hotmine X5 upgrade kit for Antminer S1/S3/S5 on: April 07, 2017, 08:26:59 AM
I sent an e-mail to them with exactly the same words! Looks like they just have no interest in such business...
894  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) Hotmine X5 upgrade kit for Antminer S1/S3/S5 on: April 06, 2017, 08:43:41 AM
I'm wondering why don't they sell it to broad masses of S1/S3/S5 owners? I am trying not to buy several X6 upgrade kits - still no result (may be they will say something before the end of this week, if not - I buy Avalon741). And I have not yet heard that someone bought these upgrade kits...

896  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: April 03, 2017, 07:40:51 AM
What is exactly inconvenient? Set it and forget it. ))
897  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Quick Avalon A721 Review on: April 03, 2017, 07:37:25 AM
Efficiency is about 50% higher compared to S9? Too bad

I thought exactly the same, until I started to replace the thermal grease on Avalon6s of my fellow. The PCB is looking to be much more religiously designed than Bitmain's PCBs...

And then I found this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1836179.0

So If I will not be lucky enough to buy X6 upgrade kits from Hotmine.io, I'll buy an Avalon 741.
898  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: April 03, 2017, 06:41:37 AM
I'd like to try one out

Why don't you just buy an Avalon741 instead?
899  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pantech SX6 8.5 Th/s miner on: April 02, 2017, 04:57:45 AM
Efficiency is good - not great, but good. Makes me wonder if they're running the chips hot or if they're regulated. I'd like to see it with the shell off.

Here it is. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1725914.0

They disappointed our expectations and decided not to release those upgrade kits...

I'd rather just buy an Avalon or Antminer at this cost.

Exactly. It looks that they have no real intention to sell it but mine for themselves... 'Cause the price is unreasonably high. But anyway the test X6 unit I have for several months is looking stable and reliable.
900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: March 21, 2017, 09:50:23 AM
May be I'll repeat my thought from Zcash forum...

If devs are going to create a PoW cryptocurrency, their main task should be to provide the community of miners with source code and binaries of P2Pool adapted to their newly created crypto. Otherwise it looks a bit scammy: the crypto is just created, almost nobody has wallets and mining SW, but just take a look - you can already mine our super-crypto at suprnova! And literally nowhere else. So come and mine it! Faster!..

But devs often doesn't care about it. So as a result we have a centralization, we have stolen blocks, 50% underpaying... So does it mean that devs are agree that miners will have such a negative experience? Looks so...
