Arlyn, you don't need permission to defend or prove anything. But like I said, there is no rational defense for this decision. I don't think you're in a position to tell what the most rational decisions are here. You'd need to be on the inside for that. But maybe I can help. - It would be awful for the community around the coin for it to be abandoned. We get that. Projects matter in their own right. It's clearly the right thing to do to step in and save a coin. - The Blocknet has a lot of resources. We can help in ways that aren't normally possible. |

Dan was not the dev of UtilityCoin. I know who the dev is and have chatted to him on Skype a few times. He's gone through a rough patch lately and that's what caused him to go silent on the Util thread for over a week. The team badly needed someone to step in and manage (not develop) the project. This is what Dan is doing. Reasons: - it's a Blocknet coin - its tech is valuable to the Blocknet - there's no benefit to anyone to allow it to just stall and die. Can someone please direct me to the Blocknet windows wallet.
I can see it on Github but I am on a windows machine and don't trust myself to compile it correctly.

Synechist can you clarify whether staked Block tokens will be allowed to be kept or not?
I vaguely remember something about the staking wallet being meant only for storage.
To the best of my knowledge the BLOCK will be keepable, strictly speaking, but their value will be debatable as they'll no longer be supported by the Blocknet and they won't receive service fees. I mean, there's probably nothing to stop people just keeping their BLOCK, but you wouldn't want to when it no longer has any development. |

I've been reading up on the Blocknet, and I'm glad the ITO was successful! However I am having difficulty understanding exactly how I would get paid as a BLOCK token owner (I don't currently own any BLOCK, but it looks like I could still buy some from an exchange even though the ITO is over). I understand that the Blocknet is not yet a reality, and that in the meantime one can trade BLOCK similar to any other coin. However I am more interested in getting paid for Blocknet services rendered whenever Blocknet is implemented, and I can't seem to find much information on how that works other than the quote above. Yes, this seems to be different than staking - looking at the NHZ exchange it looks like you can get things like BTSX and PTS, which I also tried to understand and failed (this stuff is complicated!) - but I believe they are something like stock in a company. In the case of Blocknet, I am imagining that these "shares" pay a dividend periodically (which I guess is like staking, come to think of it), but I could be completely wrong.
Yes, Blocknet tokens will be analogous to shares. The different between them and shares is that the Blocknet is a network (or a DAPP), rather than a company. Blocknet tokens will, if I'm correct, distribute service provider fees to shareholders relatively directly. This is akin to dividends, but done immediately rather than periodically. |

synechist, what about unlocking xc thread and tor stick shipping? because Dan said that it will be shipped at 10th of october
will we get some big news this week? about rev2.5 or something like that?

Hi crazies. Nice little discussion you're having here. Just to let you know I'm not hiding (might've guessed that from my identity being public and all ;-), and that as a result I'm bound by both public opinion, and the total ease with which authorities will find me, to be honest and legit in all my dealings.
Then there's my personal standard of ethics. I will never, ever, remain involved with a project I do not believe to be ethical. If, at any point, I come to believe that one of my projects is engaged in illicit dealings, I will be the first person, and the loudest voice, to proclaim it.
Mark my words. And stone me if I do not live up to them.
