521  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 16, 2015, 06:52:48 PM
I've been watching this for 3 weeks and it's been 'going down hard' since $350.
522  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 16, 2015, 05:57:56 PM
Lol @ 1K -5K being a "major dump".
523  Economy / Speculation / Re: [pump and dump alert] Any true reason of this high price? on: December 16, 2015, 05:44:13 PM
This is a high price?  It looks pretty low to me compared to when I last bought at $600 in June 2014 and that's supposed to be this exponential trend and all.  Should have been thousands by now, even without China.
524  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL] how long before 1 BTC = 1 oz of gold on: December 16, 2015, 05:40:53 PM
This requires predicting both the price of bitcoin and the price of gold and intersecting them.

It's also a harder target to reach for the doom mongers who think that bitcoins rise will be due to hyper inflation because gold will rise too.

The ceiling is allowed to descend in a consolidation.  It could actually descend all the way to 320 and still break out upwards
526  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC down to $440. on: December 16, 2015, 06:52:38 AM
Crypto is done
527  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 16, 2015, 06:49:34 AM
It's down 3%. That's it,  Bitcoin is dying.
528  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: What year will Bitcoin reach $10,000? on: December 16, 2015, 03:29:58 AM
If the train was on its old schedule,  it should have happened last year
529  Economy / Speculation / Re: now its my habbit that every morning i check bitcoin rate.lol on: December 16, 2015, 12:51:02 AM
Every morning?  I check the chart every 10 minutes or so
530  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you're hoping for economic disaster to raise price, then you're not a "bull" on: December 16, 2015, 12:40:13 AM
3. The price would be much higher if bitcoin went mainstream in a thriving economy with government approval, rather than a negative environment with no spending and only storage. Things would be growing,  and money would circulate hundreds of times faster.

If being "mainstream with government approval" were such a good thing, there would be no need of any cryptocoin.

You think Bitcoin's only feature is to subvert the government?  Maybe you should read the white paper on Bitcoin and learn more about its functionality...  micropayments, digital contracts,  anti double spending,  security,  overhead cost savings,  just to name a few.
531  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 16, 2015, 12:12:11 AM

Closing prices vs. candle peaks has been interesting to watch lately, across more than one time scale (6h, daily, weekly).

12 hr has been my favorite timescale as of late, rather bullish looking these last few months... Yet still long enough that fluctuations are at least a little dampened.

If we can assume that the market has turned and we are now in a majority bullish market,  what would it take to revert to a bear market at this point?

Thanks,

The PBoC to stop fiat flux to the exchanges.

This already happened 2 years ago.

533  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would happen if a group/person bought all the bitcoin in circulation. on: December 15, 2015, 11:29:05 PM
If someone bought all the bit coin then it would be worthless since its not being used as money

Omg the moon is exploding
535  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who do you think is the next GOX that has been trying to manipulate price? on: December 15, 2015, 09:50:06 PM

What's shady about the volume on those exchanges is there are no fees.  So actually they're completely irrelevant.  This was established TWO YEARS ago.  Get with the program.

I agree, on exchanges with no fee, the volume should not be taken seriously. One could simply buy and sell at the same time, and simply fake volume,
which is exactly what's going on now. The main question now is why ? Just to be considered a more important exchange or is there something more to it than just that..

I'm guessing they just got new high frequency trading bots and are playing their daily Kung fu game against each other with more trades occurring faster than ever before.  The same coin is being flipped 1000 times per day in attempt to make an average of 0.001% profit per trade.

The problem with "selling to push the price down" is that you have to REBUY all those coins eventually and by the time you  finish that,  you're probably right back where you started,  or much worse,  especially if there's some other accumulating buyer who wants hundreds of thousands of coins.  Then after you've taken a loss from that,  you still have to rebuy your missing coins, which will be an even bigger loss than before.  This is a really bad idea during a bull market.

You can speculate about whatever gox dud but Mark could do whatever he wanted on gox because it was a closed loop with no deposits or withdrawals and he could completely make up all the accounting numbers.  He never paid anyone their fiat OR their bitcoin (defaulted) and he's now in jail. So that's not proof of any kind of a winning strategy.
538  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who do you think is the next GOX that has been trying to manipulate price? on: December 15, 2015, 06:16:25 PM
Manipulation or not, this thing is coming from China.

Just see, for example, Huobi price, that last days is always $10+ above other exchanges. Such gap was not the rule in the past
If Huobi is the leader,  then why did Huobi have no volume on the Friday move? It seems like Huobi is just this Chess game where Chinese day traders get together for 3 hours a day and duke it out,  at a certain time of day that's completely unrelated to market movements.

was not okcoin the leader in the volume among the chinese exchange, this changed lately?
Yes but neither of them had any significant volume during the move on Friday.  It was all Bitfinex. He mentioned Huobi so I responded about Huobi.

i really didnt think we'd see a full retarce so soon!

what if we really are >32,000 in < 2 years  Shocked

no, but 5000$ is quite likely

then what?

i think we'll see 1000-5000 for a year or 2 and bam 32,000 crash down to 10,000 bubble of the year 2017

by 2020, we're back at 32,000 heading for 100,000.

if bitcoin is very successful we're taking ~1million a coin no joke.
I call max 20,000 before too many issues with scalability,  government,  and competition.  Also,  wherever the theoretical max is, the moon train dumping will begin well before then
